[5] Republicans in the Senate joined Democrats to pass a $95 billion national security package, which provides aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
[6] On this vote, the Azer 70, the name, Kaiser 29, the bill as amended, passes.
[7] 22 Senate Republicans voted for the package, as did 46 Democrats and two independents who caucus with Democrats.
[8] Meanwhile, two Democrats voted no. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters that he hopes to speak directly with House Speaker Mike Johnson and urge him to step up and, quote, do the right thing.
[9] Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called providing assistance to the Ukrainians to defeat the Russians, quote, the number one priority of the United States.
[10] GOP members like Senator J .D. Vance disagree.

[16] A former business partner of President Biden's son, Hunter, testified today before the House Judiciary Committee and accused Joe Biden of enabling Hunter to sell access to America's, quote, most dangerous adversaries.

[18] Tony Bob Bolinsky's closed -door testimony is part of the impeachment inquiry in the House.
[19] The former business partner of Hunter detailed how the Biden family is linked to U .S. adversaries such as China and Russia, saying, the Biden family business was Joe Biden, period.
[20] Babolinsky, who worked with Hunter in creating Sina Hawk Holdings with Chinese energy company, CEFC, says he met with the president in 2017.
[21] He says that Joe Biden is clearly the brand being sold by the Biden family and says the now president knowingly allowed the U .S. to be put at risk and for laws to be broken through his influence peddling operation.
[22] The Supreme Court has asked the special counsel in former President Trump's immunity case to respond within a week, after Trump asked the high court to stay a lower court ruling.

[24] The Supreme Court today asked for the special counsel to file his response by the afternoon of February 20th.
[25] Then Trump's legal team will have another chance to respond, after which the court will issue a ruling at its discretion.
[26] This comes after a court of appeals rejected claims from the former president that he was in fact immune against charges he faces regarding January 6th.
[27] In their letter to the Supreme Court, Trump's lawyers argue that, with the election only nine months away, way, the appellate process should be allowed to play out, effectively delaying a trial indefinitely, especially given all the issues that have arisen.

[33] Former President Donald Trump has weighed in on who he'd like to replace R &C Chair Ronna McDaniel.
[34] The GOP frontrunner officially endorsed North North Carolina GOP chair Michael Watley, and also recommended his daughter -in -law, Laura Trump, to be co -chair.
[35] Watley has served as the North Carolina GOP chair since 2019.
[36] He also currently serves as the General Counsel for the RNC.
[37] House Republicans are taking up a vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Majorcas once again tonight after last week's vote failed.
[38] The vote is once again tight, with the GOP unable to handle many defecting votes or absences as a storm hits a large part of the country.
[39] If the vote pushes later into the week, the outcome of Tuesday's special election in New York to replace ousted Representative George Santos could tip the balance further.
[40] The first of three funerals for the Army Reserve soldiers killed in Jordan in a drone strike by an Iranian -backed group was held today.
[41] More than 100 people gathered in Atlanta to mourn the death of Staff Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, including his wife, Darlene, members of his family, military officers, and Georgia governor, Brian Kemp.
