The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz XX
[0] You're listening to Draft King's Network.
[1] Now's a good time to remember where the story of tequila started.
[2] In 1795, the first tequila distillery was opened by the Cuervo family.
[3] And 229 years later, Cuervo is still going strong.
[4] Family owned from the start, same family, same land.
[5] Now's a good time to enjoy Cuervo.
[6] The tequila that invented tequila.
[7] Go to Quervo .com to shop tequila or visit a store near you.
[8] Quervo, now's a good time.
[9] owned by Beckley, SAB, the CV, copyright 2024.
[10] Proximo.
[11] Jersey City, New Jersey, please drink responsibly.
[12] Without knowing that you guys were about to turn the microphones on, Greg Cody just said to me, like, as you were counting me in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, because he didn't have his headsets on, heard you had my nemesis, Zaslow on yesterday.
[13] Zazzo says he's invited to your birthday party because you said everybody who's on air, here is invited to your birthday party.
[14] That's open to debate.
[15] Sorry, Zaslo.
[16] Don't count on it.
[17] I'm not in charge of that list.
[18] I didn't even want to brought up.
[19] Christopher brings it up.
[20] All of a sudden, it's in the ether.
[21] David Sampson wants to go to.
[22] Oh, he's invited.
[23] Wow.
[24] We love David Sampson.
[25] No, he's a big fan.
[26] Not sure about the N -1.
[27] He's a big fan.
[28] Of yours?
[29] No, I'm a big fan of David Samson's.
[30] I always have been.
[31] All right.
[32] I'm a little worried, Chris, he just, he didn't know the microphones are going to come on, and he hasn't been really alert this week about everything that's happening around.
[33] Here, his stamina on Tuesday became a wonderful problem in that the whole show derailed for the last hour in the most wonderful way because his stamina fell apart because he'd been off for a month and he'd forgotten what it's like to get back on.
[34] Him doing two shows this week.
[35] You see how sluggish he's come out of the gate, right?
[36] Doesn't really know he's on air, doesn't know, are we talking privately?
[37] Are we talking publicly a lot?
[38] Tony, that is good.
[39] That is good analysis by you.
[40] Real lazy slop right out of the gate.
[41] Not giving us great strength out of the seat, but in honor of the spirit of the seat, maximum lazy.
[42] because Jeremy came to me before the show today and said the WFAN FAN subreddit and God Almighty, that's a phrase I never wanted to utter.
[43] I don't want to be, I believe that to be the path in hell that has flames on the side and every once in a while somebody jumps out of the shrubbery and stabs you with a pitchfork, it's the WFANN subreddit, like whatever that comment section is, but evidently it has turned violently.
[44] on Stugats.
[45] Stugats thought he was going to go to New York and get some sort of heroes welcome because he's back in sports radio and they're telling me that's not what's happened.
[46] I thought the subreddit was bad.
[47] So I went to Twitter and was like, oh, maybe that'll be different and then saw the first tweet, this tool Stugats is the most annoying, non -talented person in sports media.
[48] How bad is it?
[49] How bad has the reception been?
[50] That bad.
[51] Well, because Taylor around here has, it's been interesting to watch.
[52] Taylor who thinks of Stugats is a bit of a hero.
[53] And at the very beginning of all of this this week, Taylor was very excited.
[54] And now he's mortified because he's seen the inner workings of the machine.
[55] And he wrote me at 6 .30 this morning.
[56] It's just breathtaking how he goes to host New York Sports Radio and still refuses to watch what people want to talk about.
[57] I'm insulted how he cannot be bothered to watch what people are talking about.
[58] The worst part of it is all he needs to do is fake it through the Mets.
[59] It's his team.
[60] It's his team.
[61] This is the Dan Levator show with the Stugats podcast.
[62] Today's episode is sponsored by Draft Kings.
[63] Stay tuned because you'll hear more about Draft Kings and all it has to offer throughout the show.
[64] Draft Kings, the crown is yours.
[65] Chris Cody, what kind of dad are we going to get to?
[66] today is Greg Cody ready to rise above the slop that he just gave us in the first four minutes and give us greatness today the way that he did at the end of Tuesday's show when he became delirious and fell apart and the whole show fell in a ditch.
[67] I think he's going to do fine, but I don't think he's going to be able to recreate Tuesday because that was a good show.
[68] He was on it and he wasn't on it, but that's when he, you know how it works with him.
[69] All right, he is here and he is already swigging vigorously from the cup, which is something he normally does only when he has done something great, which he has not yet done today.
[70] I'm anticipating greatness.
[71] That's why I'm taking a pre -greatness swig.
[72] Okay.
[73] You love to refer to a swig as vigorous.
[74] Well, because of the way, I mean, look at the way you do it.
[75] Show me. Here, give it again.
[76] Give me, do it.
[77] No, because you do it, because you do the Kermit sipping tea.
[78] I'm so good.
[79] I love all the things that I am.
[80] My God, my fart smell like roses.
[81] Like that I'm so great.
[82] You're getting all of that out of the way I sip coffee?
[83] Does give it off.
[84] You're getting all of that?
[85] Like I'm saying how great I am, by the way I...
[86] Put it on the poll, Juju.
[87] Does Greg Cody sip coffee as if he's incredibly pleased with himself?
[88] It's not ridiculous.
[89] It's how it happens every time.
[90] Again, he's anticipating greatness, Dan.
[91] He's getting his mind right for the Swigs of Greatness Later on by establishing the greatness of Swigs now.
[92] I say it, Tony's got it right, man. He nailed it.
[93] We'll see how good you are today without the constant support of Billy.
[94] Let's see if Tony can give you what it is that you need.
[95] Yeah, yeah, let's see.
[96] Nobody said it better than Tony just.
[97] Thank you.
[98] We will see together as a show.
[99] Look, I am intent.
[100] We celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, and I am intent over the course of the next year of really showing people the innards of our thing.
[101] all of the unpleasant ways because Stugats isn't faking it with this is a contract year.
[102] You know how I'm going to get a big contract by being my worst possible self and see and let the bidding war start.
[103] And so we're going to have some messiness here.
[104] Some of the stuff that broke up Joe Budden and Rory and Mao, like some of that stuff is going to make an appearance and I want everyone to see the innards of this.
[105] It's going to make it's going to make people uncomfortable.
[106] But one of the things I want to show them is the constant Billy support that Greg gets on Tuesdays, that Greg has somehow been fooled into thinking is real and has made Billy one of the most popular characters in the history of the show because he's faking it on Tuesdays and his support of you.
[107] No, it's real.
[108] And I told Tony before the show, if he supports me in a billyish way, he's earned an invitation to my...
[109] Another great point by Greg, Dan.
[110] Yeah.
[111] Thank you.
[112] Thank you, Tony.
[113] I tell you, man, the kid's learning.
[114] Tony's not yet invited to, is Jessica invited?
[115] Jessica's invited.
[116] Oh, yeah, for sure, yeah.
[117] You've got to draw the line somewhere.
[118] Tony's in.
[119] He's in with the in crowd.
[120] But where's the line for you?
[121] What's that?
[122] Where's the line for you?
[123] Oh, I'm kidding.
[124] I know.
[125] What does that mean?
[126] If you're on the line, though, is it like Ty goes to the runner?
[127] Or is it like when it's on the line in tennis, that's in.
[128] That means that Lewis is in, but he's right on the line.
[129] It's like Mission Impossible where Tom Cruise slides right under the garage door.
[130] He's like, just getting in.
[131] Yeah, that's all up to my wife.
[132] You know, anyone insulted by not being invited, blame or lean.
[133] Is Jeremy invited?
[134] Oh, he's a member of the He -Ha -3.
[135] Come on, Dan.
[136] Don't try to sew division.
[137] I'm asking.
[138] I don't believe the audience knows who's involved.
[139] invited to the 7th birthday party.
[140] It doesn't sound...
[141] Are you busy with your text?
[142] What's going on with your texts?
[143] Look, I can't do everything at once.
[144] Right, but so how about you just do the show?
[145] Okay, how about I'm doing...
[146] What I was doing just now was turning down my volume so that...
[147] Good job, Greg.
[148] You wouldn't hear...
[149] Mid -show.
[150] That's the perfect time to do that.
[151] You know, the phone goes off and then you're yelling at me because I'm...
[152] It didn't turn my phone off, so that kind of thing.
[153] Yeah, Jeremy, he's a valuable member of the He -Haw 3.
[154] Of course, he's going to be there.
[155] There's a rumor that the He -Haw 3 might perform a song at the party.
[156] I can't confirm that.
[157] I just made it up just a second, but Lovely birthday cruise, perhaps.
[158] It's been a lovely cruise.
[159] We'll see.
[160] Speaking of Greg Cody related rumors, I am told that you question Ron McGill's almost died at the hands and the feet and the horns of a buffalo in Africa.
[161] I am told you question in that story, by sources, and I'm told, after you said, I'm a very good bet.
[162] See, that was not a vigorous swig.
[163] That was a, I don't know, what's the opposite of vigorous?
[164] That was a languid.
[165] Casual?
[166] Swig.
[167] A very casual swig.
[168] Conveying not overconfidence or greatness, but the opposite.
[169] After you announced that you are a very good, bad driver, and we learned you ran into only one hunger wall in Ireland.
[170] Famine wall.
[171] I'm sorry.
[172] My bad.
[173] my bad my bad kind of the opposite I mean is it I feel like it's they're kind of synonymous there if there's famine there's hunger but still my bad famine wall great potato shortage of 1840 my bet the thing that I was saying about his driving he claimed to be a good bad driver and we then learned he ran into a famine wall he ran into something in a garage he ran into shrubs and then I was told by a source that you recently were in the car with some other people.
[174] I don't know whether you ran over the curb right then or earlier, but that the car had to be taken in for all four rims to be readjusted because of how poorly you generally drive.
[175] I mean, like many people, I'll hop a curb occasionally.
[176] What?
[177] Pardon me. Sitting in this Stugat's chair has gotten to my voice.
[178] Not the coffee.
[179] no Greg coffee what Greg just hit the off button that's $15 in fines just hit the off button I gave you a euro 10 the other day would you invest that Greg just hit the giant button it says off the giant button that says off the lower left hand corner of a okay he usually doesn't sit there and he usually doesn't have control over his own microphone buttons so we should give him a little bit of time to adjust you $15.
[180] You're already invited.
[181] You don't got to butter me up.
[182] I'm hoping for a plus two.
[183] What, Willow?
[184] No, no dogs allowed.
[185] Sorry.
[186] No children other than my beloved granddaughter and no dogs allowed.
[187] Unless they're service dogs.
[188] You know, you don't want to get in the way of that.
[189] Heaven forbid I would prevent a dog from going on my birthday yacht because, you know, somebody claims they need a support animal.
[190] I mean, and maybe they do.
[191] Don't get me wrong.
[192] Are you against service animals?
[193] Is that the take?
[194] You know, it's gotten out of hand.
[195] You can't go on an air, you can't walk anywhere now.
[196] And Levitard brings a dog into a supermarket, which is ridiculous.
[197] You can't, I'm walking, I dealt with a lot of airports recently, going to, you know, Ireland.
[198] And you can't go in an airport now without seeing dogs being walked through an airport.
[199] But you never see a dog take a crap in an airport.
[200] I always say to my wife, what are you doing?
[201] The dog's got to go when it's got to go.
[202] You say that to your wife.
[203] But you never see a dog take a crap, but they must.
[204] I mean, what happens when a dog takes a crap in an airplane?
[205] The guy sitting next to them is like calling the stewardess or flight attendant?
[206] Most dogs are potty trained, right?
[207] Are they?
[208] Yeah.
[209] Not my dog.
[210] Jumping Charlie.
[211] They don't go to the bathroom.
[212] through that often.
[213] I mean...
[214] Anytime someone comes over my dad's house, Charlie starts peeing all over the floor everywhere.
[215] It's ridiculous.
[216] He's an excited peer.
[217] I guarantee you Levitar's dog is taking a crap in the middle of a vegetable, canned vegetable aisle.
[218] Well, we know that, and he didn't pick it up.
[219] There's no question about that.
[220] At Lebitard show, I've got a number of different questions.
[221] You guys think I'd buy canned vegetables.
[222] You buy zero vegetables.
[223] That's funny.
[224] Tony's on it today, man. Thank you, Greg.
[225] All questions to be put on the poll at Lebitard show.
[226] Have you ever seen a dog take a crap in the airport?
[227] Is it okay to bring a dog to the grocery store?
[228] And are you for or against service animals?
[229] Because Greg's going, Greg's going very close to, look what?
[230] No, you don't.
[231] Talking to the mic.
[232] Greg, the microphone.
[233] What is that picture?
[234] What's the picture, Greg?
[235] This is the microphone keeps falling.
[236] Don't paint me, I don't paint me anti -service dog, please.
[237] What I'm saying is, you know, a lot of fraud going on with the service dog situation, okay?
[238] If you truly need a service dog, more power to you, bring it anywhere you like, except on my birthday yacht.
[239] That's my row.
[240] What's that?
[241] Except in your row.
[242] Oh, I mean, it's just, I don't want to be in a row with a, I would rather be in a, sitting next to a catterwalling baby infant.
[243] than a dog.
[244] It's just a bad decision by you.
[245] It's not true.
[246] Caterwalling?
[247] Caterwalling.
[248] What does that mean?
[249] You know, balling, a bawling baby.
[250] B -A -W -L -I -N -G.
[251] How are you feeling right now about how everything's going?
[252] I feel great.
[253] You know, I'm taking vigorous swigs out of my coffee, so I must feel great.
[254] In the NFL, there is no margin for error.
[255] One mistake can change the outcome of the game.
[256] Science proves quality sleep can help boost.

[264] Only at a Sleep Number Store or Sleep Number .com.
[265] Sleep Number, official sleep and wellness partner of the NFL.
[266] C Store for details.
[267] Don Libotard.
[268] Many of you, by the way, are writing in and you're saying, Dan, quit being so mean to co -hosts that you always deem incompetent.
[269] That's the formula, man. Me being mean to the co -host is what allows Stugats to take a very wealthy vacation right now.
[270] Stugats.
[271] It's a winning position for everyone but me. Have you guys not figured this out yet?
[272] That's the whole thing is me being rotten, straight, man. As everyone else gets to be incompetent, then I yell at them for being incompetent.
[273] And here's the miracle of it.
[274] And it's the magic elixir, bad, which is the only thing Greg Cody can be.
[275] becomes good and lovable.
[276] And it's because standing next to obnoxious, strident me makes everyone look that way.
[277] Yeah, and the brush with death helped.
[278] Yeah, that was planned by me. The whole thing was contrived.
[279] This is the Dan LeBatar show with the Stugats.
[280] To reiterate, I am not anti -service dog.
[281] I don't mean to, the last thing on earth I want to do is demean people who genuinely need a service dog.
[282] I'm pro dog.
[283] I've owned several dogs, buried all but one of them.
[284] What?
[285] The current one, yeah.
[286] Jumping Charlie is alive and well.
[287] Riley was not buried.
[288] Well, you don't use the word buried literally.
[289] Well, you actually literally buried a few of your cats many years ago.
[290] Right, yeah, in shoeboxes.
[291] Puddin.
[292] Puddin.
[293] Yeah.
[294] Wow, pudding.
[295] I'd forgotten about her, her hymn, whatever it was.
[296] I think it was a gal, a gal cat.
[297] A gat.
[298] That's right.
[299] Imagine being dumb enough to bury a cat in a shoebox, as if that's a casket, as if the shoebox will not disintegrate in the earth in a matter of weeks.
[300] But somewhere in my backyard.
[301] Aren't your deck shoes back there, too?
[302] Yeah.
[303] And you never remember where you buried something, you know?
[304] So puddins over here, the deck shoes are over here.
[305] You know, it's just a crapshoot whether or not you dig.
[306] You didn't make a little marker, though, Greg?
[307] No. A tombstone?
[308] No. Unmarked grave.
[309] I have...
[310] Popper's grave.
[311] Yeah, that's right.
[312] I have a number.
[313] I think that is what Earl Woods' wife did Earl Woods, because she was so mad that Tiger's dad, her husband, cheated on her and shamed her.
[314] I'm pretty sure.
[315] Buried him in the backyard?
[316] Buried him in an unmarked Popper's grave somewhere that doesn't even have a name on it.
[317] I'm pretty sure that happened, but I have a number of different questions for Greg Cody based on everything I just learned, and what I believe to have been just the articulation of one of the saddest cemeteries I've ever heard of.
[318] Two cats and shoeboxes, one of them named Putin, I'm assuming, no G at the end, just an apostrophe, hanging in that box that's not a coffin and a couple of 30 -year -old boat shoes.
[319] Like, that's unbelievable.
[320] That's a sadder cemetery than the one Earl Woods is it.
[321] Like, that's an unbelievably sad cemetery.
[322] Why?
[323] Because, what do you mean?
[324] Listen to what you just described.
[325] There are many dead cats is there, as there are shoeboxes with dead cats, as there are shoes.
[326] In fact, there might be more shoeboxes.
[327] I don't remember how you buried the boat shoes.
[328] Are they in a shoebox?
[329] Are they just two strange shoes?
[330] Inexplicably, there's two things buried.
[331] There's a cat and shoes.
[332] Some reason the cat is in a shoe box.
[333] and the shoes aren't.
[334] Yeah, that's true.
[335] That's a good point by you.
[336] I think Yaz is also buried in my backyard.
[337] Is that a person or is that a...
[338] No, I named...
[339] Isn't that a birth control?
[340] You know what?
[341] Isn't that...
[342] That always annoyed me. That they purloined the great nickname Yaz into a birth control pill, which I think is now defunct.
[343] But my first adult cat, I named Yaz after my childhood hero.
[344] And I think Yaz is...
[345] also buried in my backyard, but I can't remember.
[346] Your mother would know, Christopher.
[347] I'll ask her.
[348] How is it?
[349] I mean, I can't believe there are many people in our audience who have buried something in their backyard and can't remember.
[350] Like, put it on the poll, please, Judeo, at Lebitard show.
[351] Have you ever buried something in your backyard and now can't remember whether you did or not?
[352] It's years ago.
[353] I understand that that's what you're blaming the memory loss on, but if I were to bury a beloved thing in my yard, I would remember whether or not I had done it.
[354] Doubt it.
[355] You guys think I'm the weird one here.
[356] Yes, absolutely.
[357] I don't believe that I'm the weird one here.
[358] Nobody, people don't do that, especially today.
[359] Maybe that was a thing like in the 90s.
[360] Yeah, bring it back.
[361] You know, what, what, yeah, what better way to memorialize a dearly departed pet than to keep him or her close?
[362] My grandfather also buried dogs in the backyard of my mom's childhood home.
[363] Like, there was a dog, Leon.
[364] who lying in English, he looked like a lion, buried him in the backyard?
[365] Yeah, thank you.
[366] But in a shoebox?
[367] Oh, not in a shoebox.
[368] He was a big don't.
[369] Yeah, I mean, honestly, Puddin barely fit in that shoe box.
[370] Oh, my God.
[371] So now you're squeezing, you're squeezing a cat, a dead cat in tightly to a a dearly departed cat.
[372] Get him a bigger shoebox.
[373] Does Pudin, is there a G at the end of that or not?
[374] No, there's not.
[375] It's an apostrophe, as you said.
[376] shoeboxes, by the way, are getting huge now.
[377] Has anyone else noticed that?
[378] Shoboxes, they always used to be the exact same size, the little shoebox rectangle that everyone was familiar with.
[379] Now, a shoebox, they can be this, they're unnecessarily big.
[380] So in the modern day, Putin would have fit very comfortably in today's shoebox.
[381] It's only in yesterday's shoebox that it was a tight bit.
[382] Is he right about that?
[383] Because I know that some high -end shoes have bigger shoeboxes.
[384] But those aren't the ones you're buying.
[385] You're not buying anything over $100.
[386] I know some of the best stylish, not just dress shoes, but Nike and popular shoes might come in a more ornate packaging meant to give off this as a treasured chest.
[387] Yeah, ridiculous.
[388] But not the shoes you're buying.
[389] the sketchers you were, I'm sure you're wearing again today.
[390] No, I'm wearing my deck shoes.
[391] Thank you.
[392] My sketchers cost in the neighborhood of $80.
[393] If I'm paying $100 for a pair of shoes, there better be a couple of $20 bills in each shoe because it's ridiculous.
[394] It's like people, you know, spending thousands of dollars, tens of thousands of dollars for an autograph or a piece of memorabilia, you know, it's ridiculous.
[395] He's right.
[396] Bring back cheap shoes.
[397] Yeah.
[398] Right.
[399] Tony, I'm surprised to hear you say that.
[400] That's in support of you, but Tony does not agree with what he's saying.
[401] No, he's a shoeaholic.
[402] Shoey.
[403] Tony loves expensive shoes.
[404] I've got more questions.
[405] One of them being who's to blame for Jumping Charlie's lack of discipline.
[406] Jumping a second pet that you have that has no G, another apostrophe, correct?
[407] Yeah.
[408] Jumping.
[409] Right.
[410] The irony is you're a big G guy.
[411] you've got you've got both the G's in your name that you wouldn't give to your cats Pudin was named Pudin was before my marriage I mean Pudin was named and reared by Erlene Jumpin Charlie is a bad dog because of you Jumping Charlie's not a bad dog He's a lot He's a beautiful dog Greg Greg he pisses himself When the company comes over That's textbook He's excited He chews up your sofa He used to.
[412] He's not as bad about that now.
[413] He won't stop jumping up and down.
[414] That's true.
[415] That's true.
[416] The name's jumping Charlie, Dan.
[417] Yeah, I mean, seriously.
[418] It's not sitting, Charlie.
[419] I ain't lying with that name.
[420] Yeah, and he's got, and he won't get a nail clip at the vet.
[421] That's a problem.
[422] The vet gives me sedatives to give the dog now.
[423] Next time I bring the dog in for a nail clip, four hours before the appointment, I have to give the dog sedatives so he won't go so crazy getting his nail clip.
[424] lebitard show.
[425] Is your dog a bad dog if the vet has to drug it to calm it down?
[426] I don't know how you define a bad dog if all of the things I'm putting in front of you.
[427] Choose everything up, won't stay off the furniture, won't stop jumping around and pisses itself when the company comes over and we have to sedate the holy hell out of it in order to get it to interact with the vet.
[428] I'm insulted.
[429] I'm insulted here because when I used to pee on company, you'd get really mad at me, but Charlie can do it.
[430] Yes, exactly.
[431] Charlie, he's still, you know, an old puppy.
[432] He's just turned two in March or April.
[433] And so he's still a young dog, learning, you know, teaching, absorbing, getting better.
[434] Doesn't chew, you know, Barbie dolls and furniture nearly as much as he used to.
[435] Can you guys get for me what's happening with the W -F -A -N subreddit?
[436] Is Taylor out there ready so that he can give me an update on everything going on with Stugats, because we are headed into a contract here, and while some of you are going to get tired of me talking about Stugat's here or not being here, we kind of have to fill the chair when he's not here.
[437] Greg Cody has done so magnificently this week.
[438] A lot of you loved Zazlo here.
[439] I believe that this chair is the best chair anywhere in sports media.
[440] Wow.
[441] I want to get to everything that's happening in sports media because I don't think Tim Legler's going back to ESPN.
[442] It seems like around the horn is going to be gone soon.
[443] And so in pieces, ESPN is making fundamental changes that I want to talk about because the media, I don't know.
[444] Tim Legler is great.
[445] And I look around and I'm like, and where's you going to work next?
[446] Like where are the places for great people now that the market is shrinking?
[447] Stugat seems to think he's still living in the golden age of.
[448] media when you can go to WFAN star for a week and parlay it into something, but he doesn't seem to be noticing that all of media is collapsing all around him.
[449] Taylor, is Taylor now ready, Chris Cody, so that I can go to him?
[450] Taylor, what is going on so far this week with your experience listening to Stugats?
[451] You, I felt for you, right?
[452] Because sports radio is terrible.
[453] New York sports radio is a special kind of acidic, and Stugat's not trying, and Stugat's not trying and doing New York sports radio is not something I would ever want to listen to.
[454] So how has that gone for you?
[455] Yeah, I'm perusing the Reddit right now on WFAN.
[456] It's not going well to say the least, but I'm insulted that Stu couldn't even be bothered to watch the subway series with this dead period in sports.
[457] The Yankees and the Mets are playing.
[458] It was basically served up for him on a tee.
[459] Hey, you just have to watch these games.
[460] And to be honest with you, I'm more embarrassed in myself that I thought he would try this week.
[461] Well, here's a funny thing about you thinking that he would try.
[462] In terms of on a platter, how little effort he's being asked to make, it's not even two baseball games he has to watch.
[463] He's just got to watch the Yankees play against the Mets.
[464] They could talk about that for four hours there.
[465] It's just one regular season game.
[466] The Mets won 12 to 3.
[467] Hey, Grimmis is great.
[468] Let's talk about that.
[469] Do you have any sound there, Chris, because you told me before the show that the hosts have already figured out that he is not in a good camouflage that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
[470] Do you believe me now that the Yankees are in trouble?
[471] Did this game and this series prove to you that this team right now?
[472] First off, did you watch the game last night?
[473] I did not watch the game.
[474] As I mentioned before, Eddie, I was walking around the street smoking joints.
[475] Did you watch the highlight package?
[476] I didn't watch the highlight package.
[477] What I do is I let Gio set the scene and then I just respond to whatever it is that Gio says what?
[478] This is why your takes are on what you takes are on the Yankees because you just like you just look at the record you're like it's not so bad anybody who thinks that Aaron Boone's going to be fired this morning.
[479] It's just he's not going to be fired he's not getting fired.
[480] What do you want him to do?
[481] What is he supposed to say to Garrett Call before he goes out?
[482] And you know, gives up six runs last night against the New York match.
[483] How do you like that Eddie for a guy who didn't watch the game, huh?
[484] It is, it is wonderful.
[485] You pull that out of a song.
[486] Let me just say this.
[487] Box score.
[488] You got the box score up in front of them.
[489] I have.
[490] made a career out of reading box scores.
[491] Yeah.
[492] You really, you are the patron saint of slackers.
[493] You really are.
[494] Well, thank you.
[495] You are pure sloth and it's really admirable.
[496] You're my guy, Eddie.
[497] I'm looking at the shipping container, the shipping container.
[498] I can't register what is happening there.
[499] It feels like cringy disgust from people who love him.
[500] He's playing his hits.
[501] Like this is, we know this monster.
[502] So like, I've heard that sound a dozen times where he's just like, yeah, the box score, and they're just, I love, like, they're marveling at it.
[503] Could argue that he's in peak form.
[504] He's doing Stugats the best that he possibly can in that clip.
[505] Yeah, but he's supposed to be doing it so much better now at WFN, like watch the game, have a take, come on strong, and then you can come back here and be like, see, Daniel, look how good I was.
[506] I still got the fastball, let me know.
[507] Taylor, what do you got out there?
[508] It's one thing when he's doing it on this show.
[509] I'm in South Florida, away from New York.
[510] I listen to WFAN because it's cathartic for me. I want to hear the host best DJ LaMayhew, Glaber Torres, a lack of hustle, a bad pitching staff.
[511] It's like he's in my house now, and he's making a mess.
[512] Taylor's disgusted.
[513] Taylor was, at the beginning of this, he was buoyant.
[514] On Tuesday, he was floating on clouds around here, and now it's as if those clouds are covered in battery acid.
[515] I'm going to defend Suggots.
[516] Okay, he's too big to give you an audition, okay?
[517] Stugats is what he is.
[518] We all love him.
[519] He's going on WFAN to be Stugats, not to all of a sudden transmogrify into this expert who watched all the games and has this unique takes.
[520] No, he's bigger and better than that.
[521] Taylor, I do have to give him some credit, though, because he started to win me back today because he played a great game.
[522] if George Steinbrenner was still alive, where you say if George Steinbrenner was still alive, and then you give a take.
[523] So I think his was, if George Steinbrenner was still alive, Juan Soto would never hit free agency.
[524] And he said that, and I was kind of like, I'm back.
[525] I'm back.
[526] Yeah, good take.
[527] Yeah, he's totally right about that.
[528] You're always one good game away from getting everybody back, by the way.
[529] One good game.

[545] Don Lebatard.
[546] I'm going to get some golf A -S -M -R.
[547] Stugats.
[548] Oh, fuck me. This is the Dan Levitar show with the Stucats.
[549] Chris, what are you yelling at your father about?
[550] Your father's disgusted at the start of the segment.
[551] This is now, I think, the fourth or the fifth straight segment, going back to Tuesday, where you've had to yell at your father as they're counting us in, five, four, three, two, one.
[552] Headphones!
[553] Headphones!
[554] Dad, headphones!
[555] The one thing he has to do before the segment, what is that photo?
[556] It's a photo of myself when I...
[557] That's you?
[558] Yeah, when I was about 17 or 18 years old.
[559] Oh.
[560] Thank you.
[561] That Cody knows.
[562] I just noticed it today in my office.
[563] Why?
[564] I'm going to take a nap now.
[565] I don't know.
[566] I, you know, I noticed it.
[567] Chris, this is what it's going to be for Bronny when he plays late in this career with LeBron.
[568] Dad!
[569] Dad!
[570] The ball!
[571] Bring the ball up, Dad!
[572] Imagine LeBron dribbling up the court, and then I found a picture of myself.
[573] Then he just dribbles out of bounds.
[574] Dad, just dribbles.
[575] A little more energy.
[576] Now, his narcissism, Chris, I feel for you, honestly, because my father, I've dealt with this, and your dad has aged more rapidly than my father because he drinks, you drink 12 beers a night, my father didn't do that.
[577] Why not?
[578] But I'm saying your deterioration has been faster than my father's.
[579] I appreciate you saying that, Dan.
[580] Thank you very much.
[581] That's so kind of you.
[582] But, Greg, why are you, you're sitting here instead of focusing on the show we're doing.
[583] I've got a laser focus and you know it.
[584] Instead of focusing on the show that we are presently doing, pretty popular show, a lot of people listening, a lot of people watching.
[585] Right.
[586] You're doing the side project of neglecting the audio audience that we are still beholden to more than any other.
[587] Love the audio audience.
[588] So you show a picture.
[589] So you're preoccupied at the start of a segment, not putting your headset on because you're very busy putting out for an audio audience that cannot see it, a picture of you as a 17 -year -old that you've explained to no one in the room.
[590] Right.
[591] Correct.
[592] Yeah.
[593] What's wrong with that?
[594] You're trying to build our YouTube audience?
[595] Like, what are you doing here?
[596] You know, use your imagination.
[597] I refer to a picture of myself at 17 or 18 years old.
[598] You don't see it.
[599] So what are you going to do?
[600] Use your imagination.
[601] What did I look like at 17?
[602] or 18.
[603] What did any of you look like at 17 or 18?
[604] It's right about that.
[605] Thank you, Tony.
[606] That's what it looks like from back here at least.
[607] Macaulay Culkin?
[608] Yeah, it's kind of hard to see, but...
[609] It's black and white.
[610] It is like one of those photographs that was taken by a guy with gunpowder hiding under a curtain in the 1910 saloon.
[611] The one picture of your great granddaddy that still exists from back then.
[612] He wouldn't understand the iPhone at all, your great granddaddy who had one photograph of him taken that way.
[613] Chris, you should save this for your father as a young man almost predates photography.
[614] Your father as a young man is something that your granddaughter is going to want to remember because your dad has been drinking 12 beers a day for 30 years and he's deteriorating at a rapid rate of speed.
[615] And so...
[616] I mean, Greg, you've been coughing for six straight years here.
[617] I haven't coughed in six years.
[618] Greg, you passed out at High Life from trying to stifle cough.
[619] Yeah, but that was a while ago.
[620] The new me doesn't cough.
[621] You fell at bowling like two months ago.
[622] All right, I tripped.
[623] What happened?
[624] I tripped and fell.
[625] You know, sue me. I thought you fainted.
[626] People do that.
[627] I may have fainted.
[628] I don't know.
[629] You know, what difference does it make?
[630] Greg, I mean, they got greasy.
[631] The lanes are greasy, though.
[632] That's the thing, too.
[633] Yeah, Bob greasy.
[634] What?
[635] Whether I tripped or fainted, what difference is it made?
[636] Water under the bridge.
[637] Jeremy, I know that our audience is getting irritated with this, but I really do want to know what the reaction is to Stugats because Stugats is trying to parlay WFAN into a career move here or elsewhere.
[638] Like, he's not hiding that.
[639] That's something that he's trying to do as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.
[640] And so the reaction, what else as part of the reaction?
[641] has made you wince and cringe in the commentary on, I can't believe that what I'm using for content here is the WFAN subreddit.
[642] Who the hell is he?
[643] He sits there like he's freezing.
[644] Cap pulled down and a smirk on the whole time as he carries on like some big shot guy come down to sit with the kids.
[645] Okay, let's see what he has.
[646] Dot, dot, dot, dot, all capital letters.
[647] Nothing.
[648] What the fuck.
[649] I mean, the first one, he wasn't, it wasn't all that right about.
[650] I mean, Stugats is big man on campus coming down with the hat tilt down, a little grin.
[651] Stugats is bigger than anybody at F .A .N. not named Boomer O'Syerson.
[652] Bigger than any one of them.
[653] That's not up for dispute.
[654] And also smaller.
[655] And also smaller.
[656] And also trying the move.
[657] He's been hiding under his hat for four years, hoping nobody notices he doesn't know anything.
[658] And the move that he's doing, I remember, God, what?
[659] What was the name?
[660] I think it was Jose Robles, a University of Miami second baseman baseball player who was like five foot four.
[661] And his teammates would just yell at him from the dugout in the field.
[662] Hey, who left the cap on the field at second base?
[663] Because he was so small.
[664] Stugats is trying, Stugats at the end of this just wants to be a baseball cap that is in front of a microphone.
[665] And you don't even notice whether it's there or not.
[666] It's just Chris Cody hitting a laugh track on his.
[667] behalf because he's trying to physically hide but he rolls like a big shot because all he's doing in new york is collecting parking fees what's the sound that you said that you had for me chris on you're going to love this on him explaining how it is i don't even know what do you need a car for in in new york what do you i don't believe the grand majority of people in new york do not have a car correct yeah it's very expensive as we will hear about in this clip unless you got someone else covering the bill and you found free street parking i'm sure i did not no no parking garage for for five days for it's been there for four days yeah oh my god i mean levitore it's paying for it doesn't matter oh is he well you're not well i know we're not yeah i mean i wouldn't personally nor with the company it's been sitting there uh see i got it monday oh so it's been sitting on the lower west side uh for three or four days now all right that's that's over under 1200 bucks?
[668] What do you think?
[669] Over or under 1 ,200 bucks?
[670] Yeah, yeah.
[671] If I show up there and the guy tells me, hey, $1 ,200, I'm telling you right now, I'm walking out, I'm leaving the car there.
[672] You can't do that, right?
[673] You can't leave the car.
[674] Saving you money, right?
[675] Saving Dan money.
[676] We are not paying for that, although I guess we are paying for that in that he's being paid to work there this week.
[677] And so that money will go to paying him wastefully parking his car there.
[678] I wonder if Lower West Side is like a generational thing.
[679] I've never heard anyone say that except Stugats.
[680] Do we know if he's been to Metal Arc?
[681] Our offices are right across the street from there.
[682] Do we know if he has visited everyone else?
[683] Is there anything he can steal from our office?
[684] Going to take the under.
[685] There's some dude wipes there, I think.
[686] Quote, he also laughs at everything he says, no matter how unfunny it is.
[687] How can you get a sports talk radio job and not like sports?
[688] Like what the fuck?
[689] What's the point?
[690] Harsh.
[691] That's tough.
[692] I feel for Stugat's.
[693] And subreddit, I mean, what an insult.
[694] Why is it called Subreddit?
[695] This guy's thing is that he just laughs, like a lot?
[696] What?
[697] Stupati fan.
[698] Sto Gott's is Sto Gats, man. He's one of a kind.
[699] Dan, I also have an update, Jorge Robles, not Jose.
[700] Jorge.
[701] He was 5 '7.
[702] Small for a second base one.
[703] Thank you, Tony.
[704] I appreciate that correction.
[705] and we pride ourselves on accuracy around here.
