[2] The Oakland Athletics, one of Major League Baseball's most iconic franchises, announced this week that it has purchased land in Las Vegas, Nevada, after searching and failing to find land for a new stadium in Oakland.

[4] Oakland Athletics President Dave Cavill said in a statement that, quote, 50 years, but we really need this 20 -year saga completed, and we feel there is a path here in Southern Nevada.
[5] The move has the full support of Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, while Oakland Mayor Shang Tao strongly condemned the decision.
[6] The A's lease at its current stadium ends after the 2024 season.
[7] Twitter began removing blue check marks Thursday from users who didn't pay for them, including some very high -profile users.

[16] Foster had to relearn basic motor skills, including relearning to walk, but was able to run in time for the April marathon event.

[19] A federal appeals court has overturned a California city's first -in -the -nation ban on natural gas in new construction.
[20] The court on Monday agreed with restaurant owners who argued the city bypassed federal energy regulations when it approved the ordinance.
[21] With some exceptions, the 2020 measure sought to ban new residential and commercial buildings from installing natural gas piping in favor of electrical lines.
[22] And the city of Kyle, Texas is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the large.

[24] Organizers are calling all Kyle's to the city on Sunday, May 21st.
[25] Reportedly, there just needs to be more than 2 ,325 Kyle's in Kyle at 4 p .m. that day to break the record.
[26] The same name record has been held since 2017 by an event held in Bosnia with a total of 2 ,325 participants named Ivan.
