[3] I'm Daily Wire, editor -in -chief John Bickley, with guest host Emily Jashinsky, D .C. correspondent at Unheard.

[4] It's Wednesday, June 5th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

[5] Officials have confirmed that some U .S. weapons have been used by Ukraine to execute strikes inside of Russia.

[6] This comes after new guidance.

[7] from President Biden allowing U .S. weapons to be used in attacks inside the country, despite Russia being a nuclear threat.

[8] Ukrainian officials have been calling on the U .S. to allow Kiv's forces to defend themselves against attacks coming from within Russia, such as the recent attacks directed at Harkiv.

[9] A gunman attacked the U .S. Embassy in Lebanon this morning, further inflaming tension in the Middle Eastern country.

[10] Daily Wire senior editor, Joel Needler, has the latest.

[11] A single gunman fired.

[12] fired 15 to 20 rounds at the U .S. Embassy in Beirut Lebanon this morning.

[13] Lebanese soldiers and embassy security apprehended the shooter after a gunfight lasting about a half an hour.

[14] The incident comes in the midst of rising tensions between Israel and the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

[15] Israel initially looked to avoid opening a northern front during their war with Hamas, but increasing attacks, including missile launches that sparked wildfires in northern Israel earlier this week, have prompted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prepare for, quote, very strong action against Hezbollah.

[16] While officials have not announced the shooter's motive, pictures appear to show the attacker wearing a vest with the words Islamic State written in Arabic.

[17] Questions surrounding President Biden's cognitive and mental acuity continue to circulate in our nation's capital.

[18] Daily Wire, reporter Tim Pierce, has more.

[19] Many lawmakers on Capitol Hill from both sides of the aisle say the president has shown signs of old age during private meetings.

[20] That's according to the Wall Street Journal, which spoke with 45 lawmakers and administration officials.

[21] All of the interviewees either participate, in the meetings or were briefed on them.

[22] During one meeting in particular on Ukraine funding, Biden spoke so softly during portions that others struggled to hear him.

[23] He reportedly relied on notes to make obvious and general points.

[24] He also paused and even closed his eyes for longer than normal periods of time.

[25] This comes in the wake of Special Counsel Robert Herr's February report claiming that Biden would present himself to a jury as a sympathetic, well -meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.

[26] Today is the third day of Hunter Biden's federal gun crime trial in Delaware.

[27] Daily Wire's senior editor Cabot Phillips is here to break down what happened in the courtroom.

[28] Today's proceedings began with the cross -examination of FBI agent Erica Jensen, who testified yesterday regarding Hunter's drug addiction.

[29] During her time on the stand, Jensen confirmed that the contents of Hunter Biden's infamous laptop had not been tampered with.

[30] Hunter's ex -wife and ex -girlfriend each took the stand as well and answered questions about his drug use.

[31] Kathleen Buell, his ex -wife, for example, talked about finding drugs in his car and her sister.

[32] that he was, quote, kicked out of the Navy for testing positive for cocaine.

[33] Zoe Keston, Biden's ex -girlfriend, also testified about meeting the president's son while working at a gentleman's club and detailed a trip the two took in which Hunter would smoke crack cocaine, quote, every 20 minutes.

[34] The case ultimately centers on whether Biden lied about his drug use when purchasing a firearm in 2018.

[39] 13 anti -Israel protesters were arrested today after barricading themselves inside the Stanford University president's office.

[40] The demonstrators had several demands for administrators, which included a vote by university trustees to divest from companies supportive of Israel.

[41] Today marks the final day of classes for the spring quarter at Stanford, but an encampment that anti -Israel protesters built in late April remains intact on a campus quad.

[42] A three -year -old boy died yesterday after being stabbed outside of a grocery store in Ohio.

[43] The boy's mother was also hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery.

[44] Police say victims and the assailant had no previous interaction.

[45] As of this point, in speaking with the mother, our knowledge to know there was no connection between these two whatsoever.

[46] whoever, this was entirely a random act of violence.

[47] The suspect who is being charged with aggravated murder was found walking down the street still holding the knife and did not resist arrest.

[48] Louisiana lawmakers passed a bill seeking to surgically castrate child sex offenders.

[49] Here to break down the legislation is Daily Wire Senior Editor, As Short.

[50] Many states, including Louisiana, already have bills permitting chemical castration.

[51] However, this bill would allow judges to order the surrogers, castration of a criminal convicted of a sex crime against a child under 13 years old.

[52] The punishment would not be automatic, rather at a judge's discretion with a doctor's approval.

[53] The bill was supported mostly by Republicans, though Democratic Senator Regina Barrow wrote the legislation.

[54] Supporters say the bill will prevent child sex criminals from reoffending, while opponents say the law's cruel and unusual punishment and could be too harsh for first -time offenders.

[55] Barrow responded plainly, saying, when I think about a child, one time is too many.

[56] The bill heads to Republican Governor Jeff Landry's desk for final approval.

[57] Arizonaans are one step closer to deciding whether state and local police should be allowed to arrest people who have illegally crossed the border.

[58] The measure which passed the state house today would make crossing the Arizona -Mexico border anywhere except a port of entry, a state crime.

[59] The House vote also bypasses an earlier veto of a similar proposal from Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs and sends it directly to the voters on November 5th.

[60] Opponents of the measure claim this will lead to racial profiling, but supporters dispute that and say it has nothing to do with legal immigration.

[61] It's about picking up those that are in between the two points of entries.

[62] We have the CBP taking care of the ones that are crossing, but you have the gotaways that are getting away in the desert.

[63] Those are doing that because they are not going to five for asylum.

[64] They're the ones that have the bad records.

[65] They're the ones either human smuggling, someone that doesn't want to give themselves up because they're in human smuggling or they're doing the drugs.
