[21] God bless football.
[22] Billy Gill.
[23] God bless football, Mikey Yang.
[24] God bless football, Fentis.
[25] God bless football, Stugats.
[26] We are getting closer, fellas.
[27] We are getting closer to actual football games being played.
[28] Are you excited, Mikey A?
[29] People are working on it.
[30] People are showing up.
[31] It's hot.
[32] They're wearing those funky helmets.
[33] They're working on it.
[34] I'm excited.
[35] How do you feel about the funky helmet, Billy?
[36] Do you know the helmet he's talking about?
[37] I do.
[38] Yeah, it looks weird, right?
[39] It's going to take some getting used to.
[40] I'm curious to see.
[41] how many players play with the guards during the actual game because I think they can wear them this season.
[42] So we'll see how many people opt to do that and what it looks like during an actual game.
[43] It'll be interesting.
[44] Hey, everybody's in camp.
[45] Everybody's reported.
[46] I mean, not every player, but every team in camp, it started.
[47] Football has started, Stugats.
[48] Football season has started.
[49] I'm so excited for it.
[50] I need it so badly in my life.
[51] I'm up here in New York right now, and I'm telling you, it's the only market in America where they don't care if it's July because they're still talking baseball.
[52] They don't want football to start.
[53] They want baseball to never end.
[54] It's the weirdest thing, man. Not Yankees.
[55] It is so straight.
[56] I will also tell you this, though.
[57] I'm sorry, Billy, go ahead.
[58] I was going to say not Yankees fans.
[59] My understanding is that Yankees fans think the season's over already while being up like 20 games over 500.
[60] Yeah, I was blasted today.
[61] Yeah, right.
[62] It's more of a, yeah, we see how this is going to end.
[63] It's going to be, yay, we made the playoffs.
[64] Oh, we got swept.
[65] I know, but you're three and a half up in the wild card.
[66] Jerry Reco actually said this on WFAN.
[67] They were 59 and 42 at the time he said it.
[68] He said it felt like they were 42 and 59.
[69] How is that possible?
[70] You can't be 59 and 42, and it feels like you're 42 and 59.
[71] It's impossible, I'm telling you.
[72] Really?
[73] Yeah.
[74] You feel the same way?
[75] You agree with Reco.
[76] Is that what you're saying?
[77] I'm saying I can see how you feel that way.
[78] I don't know that I'd go that far, but I could see how you'd feel that way.
[79] And I'm saying Billy would give anything to have a baseball team that was 59 and 42 that that felt like it was 42 and 59.
[80] Am I right, Billy?
[81] I mean, the fact that you guys are complaining about making the playoffs every year, you have 27 titles.
[82] Like, get out of here.
[83] Get out of here.
[84] But, you see, your team makes the playoffs and wins the World Series or they don't make the playoffs.
[85] Like, there's something to be said about making the playoffs and then watching your team have to go home.
[86] Like, we could have beat that.
[87] team.
[88] We could have beat that team, but the Marlin season's over in July every year.
[89] Like, the season's already over confirmed.
[90] This season, they actually...
[91] Open your schedule.
[92] You haven't been going that long?
[93] What?
[94] That's what I'm saying.
[95] In June, it was over.
[96] They, no, they traded Luis Araya's May 3rd this year.
[97] That's what it was over.
[98] A month into the season.
[99] We're like, eh, never mind.
[100] And the GM said like, eh, this wasn't our year and it's like a month in, we're not here to talk about the Marlins.
[101] We should do God bless baseball.
[102] No, we're not here to talk about.
[103] We're not here to talk about.
[104] No, I'll tell you who should.
[105] is Jerry Recko.
[106] I mean, that guy, him and Giannati.
[107] They don't want baseball to end ever.
[108] Anyway, we have a lot to get to you today.
[109] More Mike Lee.
[110] I am excited for that.
[111] We have Fuentes top five.
[112] We have Billy's story of the week.
[113] And I'm certain we will have more games along the way.
[114] Billy is there?
[115] What's going on with Tua down there in Miami?
[116] I'm up in New York right now doing some shows for WFAN as we record this.
[117] They are very excited about Aaron Rogers and the Jets.
[118] They are too excited about Arrow Rogers and the Jets.
[119] I would prefer they tone it down but billy what is the latest year with two and the dolphins uh the latest that i saw on ESPN today was to his practice status fluid amid contract talks he's gonna he's gonna he's gonna practice gone two is not gonna sit down let's be real he's too nice he's too nice to have a holdout it's not gonna happen right he's gonna play he's gonna play 18 games without a contract he's gonna volunteer he's like oh guys i want me to play all the preseason games too let's do it skyler can come in today oh okay i got them no It's so weird.
[120] Every snap.
[121] How do you guys feel about Jet fans being very excited about their football team?
[122] Because I am telling you, I'm in New York.
[123] I feel it.
[124] They're calling it to the radio station.
[125] They think this is the year, Mike E. Did you see USA Today's official prediction has the Jets winning the Super Bowl?
[126] Yes, I did.
[127] I don't think I've ever felt so bad about something said so nice about my team.
[128] I do, right?
[129] Like, I wanted to throw up when I read it because you just, know it's all going to go downhill.
[130] I believe it's the, I believe it's the first time anyone has predicted the Jets will win the Super Bowl.
[131] I do.
[132] I don't, I can't, I can't recall in all the years rooting for the Jets where someone had them as a preseason, uh, preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl.
[133] I cannot recall that.
[134] It's disgusting.
[135] It's disgusting.
[136] I feel, I feel, I feel, nauseous about it.
[137] Right.
[138] I know.
[139] Uh, it's going to be interesting what happens here with Tua.
[140] It's Also, you know, the same thing is got the same conversations that we've had about Tua are going on with Daniel Jones, Billy.
[141] Daniel Jones already got his contract.
[142] He got it based off of one playoff victory a couple of years ago.
[143] He is guaranteed $47 million coming up this year.
[144] And if you've watched Hard Docs, you have seen Joe Shane, who has been on this show, trying to move up in the draft to get a quarterback, even though he has Daniel Jones at $47 million.
[145] They end up taking a wide receiver.
[146] I do wonder how Daniel Jones experiences watching that play out in the draft room where they have a quarterback, yet they're trying to trade up to get someone they think is better.
[147] But they are kind of talking about some of the same stuff we have talked about where Daniel Jones, give him one more year.
[148] If it doesn't work out, the Giants can opt out of that deal and maybe go after Dak Prescott.
[149] This is, it's kind of crazy.
[150] And I keep telling them that Dak is not going to the Giants.
[151] And they keep asking why, Billy, and I said, that's because DAC is going to the Dolphins.
[152] How about that?
[153] I mean, I know you keep doing this, Dax of the Dolphins thing.
[154] I'm wondering if there is a player in the NFL who has had more make it or break at seasons than Daniel Jones while still being in the exact same position.
[155] Kind of DAC, too, though.
[156] Because it's the Cowboys.
[157] Because it's the Cowboys.
[158] Yeah.
[159] Every year, making a break it for that.
[160] Yeah.
[161] But I think with DAC, like, a lot of people are like, yeah, like, he belongs.
[162] year it's kind of like we're looking for the reason for Daniel Jones to prove that he belongs in the NFL and then like we don't really see it but like the next year we're still there we're like this is here make it or break it here Daniel Jones I think people want Daniel Jones to make it but he keeps breaking it yeah can we play a little game of make it or break it okay is this a make it or break it year for Deshawn Watson no because of the money because of the contract right that's a good point he doesn't have to make it he already broke the back he's got to make it no matter what i was trying to figure out and he already broke the team i mean i was trying to figure out the game you set it up like you wanted the answer to we make it or break it and mike he's just like no right well that's true make it or break it mikey dischaum watson you asked is it a make it or break it year and i said no make it or break it yeah but you have to answer correctly oh he breaks it he breaks it because who cares make it or break it ear uh i got to find a good guy i was going to say Trevor Lawrence, but he's in the same boat.
[163] They're paying him a lot of money.
[164] Make it or break it, Jalen Hertz.
[165] Do you think they're going to get rid of Jailen Hertz?
[166] Yeah.
[167] No. I do.
[168] No. Seriani's gone before Hertz is gone.
[169] 100%.
[170] This is a make it or break a year for Siriani.
[171] Mm -hmm.
[172] I would say this thing.
[173] Okay.
[174] Now you're playing a better game.
[175] I would say the same thing for the coach in Buffalo, too.
[176] Like Josh Allen's there.
[177] McDermott.
[178] Yeah.
[179] McDermott's more better break at than Josh Allen.
[180] Now he's been through a lot of, he's been through a lot of make it or break a year.
[181] He has, though, McDermott, right?
[182] He has.
[183] I didn't think he was going to survive last year.
[184] I thought last year was the year that McDermott was going to be gone.
[185] And then they got rid of Ken Dorsey, became the sacrificial lamb.
[186] And then at the end of the year picked things up a little bit, and McDermott survived again.
[187] And then Ken Dorsey, who everybody was like, oh, my God, this is like the next head coach is now just falling off of the face of the earth.
[188] Because as soon as he was gone, then the offense started looking better.
[189] And then it's like, oh, he's maybe not a genius, after all.
[190] How about Kyle Shanahan, make it or break it?
[191] He's, what?
[192] No. At some point, you have to go to the, no, no, no, Mikey A. At some, I don't care.
[193] At some point, I don't care how many people tell me this guy is a genius.
[194] He is so ahead of the curve.
[195] He is thinking differently than every other coach.
[196] At some point, with this roster, a roster this talented, you have to not only make the Super Bowl, but you have to win one.
[197] I mean, come on.
[198] What do you think would happen to the fabric of existence if the bills met Kyle Shanahan in the Super Bowl?
[199] one of them has to win it.
[200] Like, I'm not sure either of them actually can.
[201] The universe won't allow either of them to win that.
[202] The thing about Shanahan is, like, if you can keep taking Jimmy Garoppelos and Brock Purdy's to the Super Bowl, I don't think you'll ever get fired.
[203] Yeah, but that's his trick, right?
[204] He never takes a big -time quarterback, therefore he never gets the blame for when they lose.
[205] It goes to Brock Purdy or Jimmy Garapolo.
[206] I mean, it's a good trick.
[207] It's got them employed.
[208] Can I just for a quick moment interrupt this game with the game that I came up with?
[209] Ooh, the game within the game.
[210] All right, so I want to interrupt, make it or break it with a new game that I call, hey, did you hear?
[211] Oh, wow.
[212] A game within a game.
[213] Yeah.
[214] I can't look at hear how this one's played.
[215] All right, so you mentioned Kyle Shanahan.
[216] Hey, did you hear Kyle Shanahan say?
[217] Did you hear it?
[218] Yeah, hey, did you hear it?
[219] Yeah.
[220] Hey, did you hear it?
[221] Did you hear Kyle Shanahan say that Bill Belichick declined a job offer to join the 49ers staff?
[222] He essentially said, you never know.
[223] He's a football guy, and I could believe he was a head coach, so I reached out to him.
[224] It was kind of like, you can do whatever you want.
[225] Hey, did you hear?
[226] How are we supposed to respond?
[227] Yeah, that's the thing about the game.
[228] The game requires a yes or no. You say like, yeah, I did you.
[229] That's crazy.
[230] Oh, no, I didn't hear that.
[231] That's crazy.
[232] I did hear that, so I get a point.
[233] You win.
[234] I win.
[235] I win.
[236] You didn't hear it.
[237] I'm glad I'm hearing it now.
[238] I'm Bill Belichick.
[239] What he wants is Kyle Shanahan's job.
[240] I mean, he does.
[241] He's not going to be on his staff.
[242] I mean, I feel like that's the way to get the job, though, right?
[243] Is that you kind of go there and then you kind of just undermine him, undercut him.
[244] You talk to the owner.
[245] You know, I've been looking over what's going on here.
[246] I've got to tell you the difference here in the championship culture is a little, not the players.
[247] Game of 49ers.
[248] It's a head coach is really the problem.
[249] if I'm going to really break this down for you.
[250] You don't want to, you don't want to inject Bill Belichick into that system, I don't think, if you're anyone.
[251] Because once he's in, he's going to get his way, I think, right?
[252] He's a sweet talker, Bill Belichick.
[253] Can we agree on that?
[254] That's what you have.
[255] Feel bad for the Manning cast.
[256] Yeah, what's the saying you invite the wolf into the henhouse?
[257] Sure.
[258] You let the guy in the door.
[259] That's, I mean, before you know, you're out of a job.
[260] Don't be surprised when he has your job.
[261] Exactly right.
[262] I was saying I just game there from Kyle red flag Kyle Shanahan inviting him into the celebration there yeah it feels a little bit like a panic move wow panic or calm a little bit yeah oh I like that panic or calm I mean a staple but very excited wait so you guys are saying that you don't bring Belichick does Belichick have a better chance of getting the job if he's on Shanahan staff or not on Shanahan staff because if Shanahan has Belichick on the staff because if Shanahan has Belichick on the staff.
[263] they get off to a bad start.
[264] Some of that blame goes to Belichick as well, does it not?
[265] I don't know.
[266] I don't think he's going to come in to be a fight.
[267] Look at Antonio Pierce.
[268] He was there.
[269] He was the one that took over, and now he's the head coach.
[270] Belichick, I mean, if he's on a staff and there is a coaching change, which there will not be.
[271] And I don't think anyone thinks that Shanahan is going anywhere.
[272] I don't think anyone thinks that this is a make it or break a year for Kyle Shanahan.
[273] But if it was, if it was, and Bill Belichick's on the staff, he would at least finish out the season, right?
[274] Then if he turns things around, hey, we were wrong about old Bill.
[275] And it's a perfect spot because there's such a talented team that if something happens that things go off the rail and they fire Shanahan, Belichick can get wins with that team.
[276] Belichick would win nine Super Bowls with that team.
[277] I mean, they would.
[278] So you think the problem in San Francisco is Kyle Shanahan?
[279] I think Kyle Shanahan, there is some pressure for Kyle Shanahan.
[280] to actually win a Super Bowl, yes.
[281] And if it's not this year, we'll be in the next, you know, a couple of years.
[282] You can't have this kind of talent, and they have the most talented roster top the bottom, I think, in the NFL, and not win a Super Bowl and call yourself the genius coach.
[283] I mean, eventually the San Francisco 49ers are going to want to win with this group of players.
[284] If he can't win, I would assume they'd look to someone else.
[285] And why not look to Bill Belichick?
[286] So let's say Belichick goes over to San Francisco, right?
[287] And some crazy world, Belichick goes over to San Francisco.
[288] They were in the Super Bowl last year.
[289] They fire Kyle Shanahan mid -season.
[290] Bill Belichick takes over the team, gets that, he writes the ship, gets them back on track, and wins a Super Bowl with the 49ers, something Kyle Shanahan could never do.
[291] Does that sting Brady winning a Super Bowl with the 49er?
[292] With his hometown team.
[293] Exactly right.
[294] The team that he, you know, is connected to for a long time rooted for, does that make it sting for Tom Brady?
[295] Does he then consider maybe coming back?
[296] Wow, to won up Belichick.
[297] Yeah, right.
[298] He would have to go back to New England, Brady, and win a Super Bowl in New England without Belichick.
[299] I love that.
[300] I love that closure.
[301] He goes, he plays with a different number because his number's retired.
[302] So he said, you know what, I'm going to do a new number now, new coach, new number.
[303] Old Tommy's back.
[304] He wins another one for Mr. Kraft.
[305] I don't know why they all call him Mr. Kraft.
[306] Have you noticed that?
[307] Because he writes the checks.
[308] Yeah, but no one calls him like Robert or no one calls him like Bobby.
[309] Bobby Kraft.
[310] Yeah, no one calls him Bob.
[311] They all just call him Mr. Craft.
[312] It's like, I feel like if I'm Mr. Craft, I'd be like, hey, guys, call me, call me Bob.
[313] Yeah, feel free to call me Bob once in a while.
[314] Exactly, right.
[315] Throw on a Bob every now and then.
[316] Mr. Craft, that was my dad.
[317] That's what you say.
[318] You always say that.
[319] So you have Belichick coming back.
[320] So you have Brady going back to New England, wearing a different number, winning a Super Bowl, sticking it to Belichick, and they retire a second Brady jersey?
[321] Wow.
[322] Okay.
[323] So I wonder if in this scenario, they're playing against, the 49ers in the Super Bowl because then then you retire a second jersey for sure.
[324] Oh my God.
[325] Then you retire a second jersey for show.
[326] I mean, that's a game for everything.
[327] How much money would Netflix pay for that game?
[328] Well, I don't think that CBS or ever would just sell the Super Bowl that year.
[329] But could you imagine, though, could you imagine, though, like if, you know, this is going to be the biggest Super Bowl ever and then the company that's broadcasting the game decides, you know what?
[330] Putting it up for sale.
[331] Exactly right.
[332] We're going to, yeah, we're going to turn this into a VRBO for the week.
[333] You get the game.
[334] Just pay us rent.
[335] Jeff Bezo versus Netflix.
[336] Who gives out more money?
[337] Ten years of revenue for selling the one.
[338] It would be like a $20 billion game.
[339] Is there a bigger game you would want?
[340] You did stumble upon a good idea, though, I think.
[341] I like the idea of no one have no television network having the rights to the Super Bowl, seeing what the matchup is.
[342] And a bidding war.
[343] And then you'd be a auction.
[344] You know, you know that that would be a thing, right?
[345] They'd make that a TV special.
[346] It would be the Super Bowl auction.
[347] I'd watch.
[348] So you'd have it.
[349] We're going to start out with the Pro Bowl games.
[350] Who wants Dodge Ball?
[351] Who wants Dodge Ball?
[352] And then you move your way up.
[353] You talk to the representative for CBS.
[354] Why are you doing it as an auctioneer?
[355] Well, because it's a Super Bowl.
[356] It's a Super Bowl auction.
[357] You start out with the little things like, oh, we have the Pro Bowl.
[358] We have, you know, whatever other, you know, Theatrical.
[359] Hard knocks TV networks.
[360] I'd watch all.
[361] Yeah, you bring out Bruce Buffer.
[362] He says, let's get ready to rumble.
[363] And then the auctioneer comes.
[364] He starts doing the bidding.
[365] And then the guy from CVS is like dejected.
[366] the corner.
[367] He's like, oh, man, I really thought I had him at $25 billion.
[368] And then Bezos comes out riding a horse.
[369] He's covered in armor.
[370] He's like, this is mine.
[371] And then he like beds, boom, $50 billion on the Super Bowl.
[372] I do love that.
[373] Yeah.
[374] This is great.
[375] So let's, so let's play it out.
[376] Let's assume Brady did come back.
[377] Belichick West of San Francisco.
[378] Kyle Shadhan was fired.
[379] And it was Niners Patriots.
[380] How high do you think the bidding would go to get that game if you're in that more?
[381] More.
[382] Ten billion on the answer is more.
[383] More.
[384] Now, logistically, it seems very difficult to do this.
[385] I'll admit.
[386] It seems this would be a very quick...
[387] It seems like it'd be a very quick turnaround from championship weekend to where are we airing the Super Bowl, but, you know, what are you going to do?
[388] This is why you play...
[389] This is why you play, hey, did you hear?

[403] Stugats, we have a number of games to get to today.
[404] I know that I'm a serious man. I think most people would agree.
[405] I'm a serious man. I like to get to business.
[406] I'm not a man about games, but I agree.
[407] I'm not a man about games, but we have a lot of games to play today.
[408] We have a top five from Fuentes.
[409] We have more Mikely to get to.
[410] Did you just open a window?
[411] What happened there?
[412] I turned the light on.
[413] Sorry.
[414] No, it's okay.
[415] So anyways, I have a story that made me go, this week also if you want to get to that at some point, we have some headlines we can get to.
[416] We have a number of things.
[417] Oh, NFL .com is releasing the top 100 players.
[418] I don't know if you saw that.
[419] very big week right now we have 100 to 70 have been released so we know 100 to 70 of the top 100 NFL players hmm yeah who is the 70th best player in the NFL according to this list all right so you want to you want to you want to go to number 70 you said yeah top 100 okay give me number 6 like like are you thrilled that you're number 70 on that list I mean I think that you know you you know what I got to be honestly we have 100 to 71 70 comes out in the next round but I will give you number 71 if you'd like number 71 on the Top 100 is Laramie Tunsell.
[420] Really?
[421] Yep.
[422] Up 14 points from last season.
[423] Gas mask hit.
[424] He's due.
[425] 72 was Garrett Wilson.
[426] Up to.
[427] I have Tunsel 54 on my list.
[428] So, I mean, I disagree with that.
[429] He's one of the best tackles in the game.
[430] I mean.
[431] All right.
[432] Dolphin legend.
[433] On my list.
[434] Can I tell you?
[435] Less Miles call you back yet?
[436] No. I'm just looking here.
[437] Can I tell you who number 75 is?
[438] Listen, this is where things get interesting.
[439] Really?
[440] Number 75.
[441] Justin Herbert.
[442] Down 43 spots from last season.
[443] Fair.
[444] It's fair for him to go down 43 spots.
[445] What was he done?
[446] Yeah, you had a bad year.
[447] At number 79, we have someone that dropped down 61 spots from last year in Minka Fitzpatrick.
[448] If I said to you that Justin Herbert two years ago would be on a list of top 100 players in the NFL, it would be That four down to the list, you'd be shocked, right?
[449] Yeah, I think so.
[450] You figure he'd be top five at this point.
[451] He's supposed to be.
[452] I know.
[453] That's what they're telling us.
[454] We were told he would be.
[455] Billy's not a fan of Herbert.
[456] I don't know if that's entirely fair.
[457] He's not a fan of everybody talking about Herbert, I think.
[458] That's closer.
[459] That's closer to fair.
[460] Yeah, okay.
[461] Oh, I have one from Flint's that he's going to love, and I have one.
[462] one for Stugats and Mikey that they're going to hate.
[463] Okay.
[464] You want the one that you love or the one that you hate?
[465] I want the one that we hate, okay?
[466] The one that you hate dropping down 41 spots to number 92 on the top 100, Aaron Rogers.
[467] Oh, my God.
[468] Surprise you made the list.
[469] You know what I actually like it.
[470] I like it.
[471] I don't want the expectations to be too high.
[472] I like that.
[473] I mean, people are predicting them to go to the Super Bowl.
[474] I need this.
[475] That's good.
[476] I'm fine with that.
[477] Let Aaron climb up the rankings.
[478] Aaron Rogers.
[479] I would just play this season.
[480] I hate that he didn't play in a full game or a full series, actually, and he's still on the list.
[481] Body of work.
[482] Anybody needs a chip on their shoulder.
[483] It's, yeah.
[484] He loves a chip on his shoulder.
[485] He does.
[486] Love a good chip on the shoulder.
[487] Well, here's the thing, guys.
[488] And Fuentes, this actually may be sad news for you.
[489] This person went up in the NFL Top 100, moved up two spots to number 95.
[490] on the list.
[491] Trevor Lawrence.
[492] About where he is.
[493] Yeah, that sounds about right.
[494] That's crazy.
[495] In the 90s.
[496] Exactly where he belongs.
[497] He's going to make a career of being in the 90s.
[498] He improved two spots to 94.
[499] Just signed $50 million a year.
[500] On the rise.
[501] Crazy.
[502] Anyway.
[503] Doug Peterson, 45 years will be in the top 10.
[504] Doug Peterson, now or never?
[505] I mean, yeah.
[506] Oh, now or never?
[507] That's another game.
[508] Take a break with that.
[509] You forgot the name of the game, but that game works now or never.
[510] This one is better.
[511] The thing is with Doug Peterson, I don't think there's ever and never.
[512] There's always a next with Doug Peterson.
[513] I feel like once you get a Super Bowl, there's always like when's the next.
[514] Yeah.
[515] He got a Super Bowl and was fired two years later by the team he wanted for, though.
[516] Are there people still calling Bill Cowher every off season?
[517] Like, oh, maybe this will be the job that'll bring him out of retirement.
[518] I would say, I want to put together a top five list of coaches that teams are still calling because not only do I think I believe they're calling Bill Cowher they're calling Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells as well okay when uh let me ask you guys a question when there is a coach firing let's say a firing happens right after a game right so Sunday happens one o 'clock game happens we're in week like 10 of the season whatever and it's like okay this person is out we need an term coach now and then like the i don't know fox nfl sunday or cbs uh NFL coverage happens who do you think whose phone rings first like if the phone rings who do you think grabs their phone first and that's one that's ringing for the new coaching hire my guess would be cower is always like he's just ready for the phone to ring yeah and who do you think is the person that's looking at their phone and they're like oh is this reception bad in here like what's happening Why aren't they calling me?
[519] Yeah, what's going on here?
[520] I don't think Jimmy Johnson cares enough anymore to be that guy.
[521] I think people call Jimmy and he's like, when are you going to learn your lesson?
[522] I'm not coming back.
[523] He made the same call for 15 years.
[524] I'm done with this.
[525] I feel like Jimmy has a price.
[526] I don't know.
[527] You don't think Jimmy has a price.
[528] I don't think him or coward do.
[529] Really?
[530] Bill Belichick is the one who keeps looking at his phone.
[531] Bill Belichick is the one looking at the phone.
[532] Bill Belich gets a phone and they're like, oh my God.
[533] They're like, Bill, you want to, we have this game that's going to be on Netflix.
[534] You want to break down some X's and O's on Netflix.
[535] No, I want a coach.
[536] Damn it, stop calling me for broadcasting jobs.
[537] He's going to be working every game of every network.
[538] He's going to have more jobs than he is.
[539] His days are going to be longer breaking down film for all these analyst gigs that he has, hoping to get the next coaching job.
[540] Nick Saban definitely has a busy phone when somebody's fired.
[541] Do you think Nick Saban got calls this off season?
[542] For sure.
[543] Do you think Nick Saban got NFL calls this off season?
[544] Oh, no. I'm sure he got the tires kicked a little bit.
[545] Like, hey, you know, it's been a while, you know, why don't you, you know?
[546] What about Nick?
[547] Yeah.
[548] Arizona's nicest time of year.
[549] You guys really think Nick Saban has another coaching gig in?
[550] No, I just say he's getting caught.
[551] No, no, no. No, Billy, I believe that an NFL organization this past off season spent some time kicking the tires around on Nick Saban and whether or not they should make a call to him.
[552] That I do believe, yes.
[553] There was at least a discussion, a discussion before the call at least.
[554] Right, right.
[555] But no call was ever made.
[556] No call, but they had a discussion about, hey, who can we call?
[557] Nick's available.
[558] Yeah.
[559] Would you think that Nick David would go to the NFL again?
[560] Absolutely not.
[561] I don't think so either.
[562] Well, you said Jimmy has a price.
[563] You don't think Nick has a price?
[564] Nick had whatever he wanted in Alabama and he walked away.
[565] I think that Nick walked away because he knew the walls were closing in on him and he knew that he lost.
[566] I don't want to say he lost his touch, but like it was a different game, right?
[567] So like the longer that he went that he wasn't able to like adapt and win at the game that was currently happening, the more people then question his, I think, greatness of all time.
[568] question.
[569] Do you think that say Sabin ends up winning the national title title that year?
[570] Do you think he still retire?
[571] Says, hey, this is not for me anymore.
[572] If he wins it last year, you're saying.
[573] Yeah, like, he would have been like, because he went out in the top four, right?
[574] So he would have, he was, they made it to the playoff last year, but perhaps the worst team he's had.
[575] And so he wasn't that far away.
[576] So you think if they lost to the national championship.
[577] So if he would have won the title, I think it would have been like, I'm out anyway.
[578] No. No, you don't think so.
[579] But Billy, I will say this.
[580] The one blemish, I guess, on Nick Sabin's resume is his NFL coaching career.
[581] Was his time with the Miami dolphins.
[582] And so maybe there's an issue that he wants to scratch.
[583] Like, hey, I'm a good coach.
[584] I'm a good coach at the college level, at the professional level, and I want to take another crack at it.
[585] Maybe, I'm just saying.
[586] I don't, you don't think if Dallas calls?
[587] If Dallas calls next year, it has to be the exact right situation with the right amount of talent.
[588] Yes.
[589] I mean, Billy, if Nick Sabin got a call from Jerry Jones to coach the Cowboys, you don't think he'd be interested?
[590] I don't think that Nick Sabin is going to correct his shortcomings 20 years after his failures.
[591] Yeah, I think he already accepted that.
[592] Yeah, I think he knew like...
[593] I'm okay being the best college guy ever.
[594] Yeah.
[595] He accepted it and made up for it.
[596] He overcompetry.
[597] And by the way, he was so good at it that like people will just call him the greatest coach ever, not even like say college specifically.
[598] He's the greatest coach ever.
[599] We have him in like sitting around with great NFL coaches despite never winning anything in the NFL.
[600] When you think of the greatest football coaches of all time, Sabin and like maybe one other college guy you put in that list and that's it hmm I mean I think Belichick no obviously I'm saying you're saying college right you list all these great at like no he's saying the greatest coaches ever if you if you list if you had a Mount Rushmore yeah right Sabin Belichick and Shula I guess he's saying maybe another yeah but Shula yeah well I'm saying well he's still the most winningest coach in history yeah have you heard of Bill Walsh I mean yeah what's I'm saying but you're going to put Nick Sabin in like this great football coach thing even though he wasn't really great in the NFL is what I'm saying right man I do think it bothers Nick that he couldn't have success in the in the NFL I think that bothers him I'm not saying he's gonna coach again but I think given the right situation like the Cowboys it's something he would consider kick the tires on okay I remember I remember talking to Herm Edwards before he took the Arizona estate job and we asked him if there was a a job he would go back to the NFL says no I wouldn't take no I'm not no teams I don't even answer the phone And we said, what if the Eagles call?
[601] And he stopped and he went, my wife would have to say no to that one.
[602] And I think that's what the cowboys are for saying.
[603] But I think he'd say no to everybody.
[604] But if Jerry called, he'd be like, Miss Terry, you're going to have to say no. I don't think so because he would want the full autonomy.
[605] Like he would want to do everything.
[606] And there's no way Jerry's giving that up.
[607] Doesn't matter.
[608] No, but if you're Jerry and you're calling Bill Belichick, you're giving him everything.
[609] That's the deal when you call Bill Belichick.
[610] You give him everything.
[611] How many old guys you don't want to give up power?
[612] I don't know too many.
[613] Huh.
[614] Hmm.
[615] More Mikely?
[616] I'm trying to find here, and I wanted to surprise you guys with it, but I'm trying to find here, and we'll play more Mikely because it's going to take me a while.
[617] I'm trying to find the college equivalent of Nick Sabin's NFL career in terms of win percentage.
[618] So Nick Saban as an NFL coach with the Dolphins had a 469 win percentage, and I'm trying to find a 469 win percentage college football coach to say, oh my God, Nick Sabin is.
[619] So less miles is a better college football coach.
[620] Yeah, I was going to say, Check at a Miles.
[621] College coach that Nick Simon was an NFL coach?
[622] Yeah.
[623] Look at that.
[624] You think you know a guy?
[625] The year was 2017 and I was a youngish man thinking I was invincible and nothing could stop me. I lost a bed and I said, you know what?
[626] I'm going to bite into this onion because that is the punishment for losing this bet.
[627] And boy did I learn, I was not invincible.
[628] A lot's changed over the years.
[629] One thing that hasn't, the great taste of Miller Light.
[630] Another thing that hasn't changed is that it's less filling.
[631] So what is the best thing about the original light beer?
[632] Miller Light has sparked this debate since 1975, and we still haven't settled it.
[633] My personal favorite, the great taste.
[634] It goes with almost anything.
[635] And now during the summer, if you're outside grilling, it's the perfect accompaniment to a nice warm burger hot dog.
[636] You don't have to choose what's best.
[637] Miller Light has great taste and is less filling.
[638] Tastes like Miller Time.
[639] To get Miller Lite delivered right to your door, visit millerlight .com slash GBF.
[640] Or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer.
[641] Celebrate responsibly.
[642] Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories per 12 ounces.
[643] Fewer cows and carbs than premium regular beer.
[644] So we didn't get to more Mike Lee last segment because we got distracted and then started talking about a world in which Nick Sabin came back and coached in the NFL to prove to people that he was a great NFL coach, even though he kind of failed spectacularly the first time around.
[645] So anyways, Mikey, or Mikey, not Mikey, anyways, Mikey, I apologize to that.
[646] The floor is yours for a new game of more Mikely.
[647] Well, I appreciate that, Billy.
[648] And just for that, we'll start with more Mikely for you to want as your next head coach.
[649] Dan Campbell or Matt Lafleur?
[650] Dan Campbell.
[651] Just because you like him?
[652] Yeah, just because I like him.
[653] Matt LaFleur covers me. I mean, both those guys aren't going anywhere.
[654] Well, of course, but.
[655] Right.
[656] In the more Michael in the world, they are.
[657] I would take Dan Campbell.
[658] I'm with Billy.
[659] I take Dan Campbell.
[660] Do you guys want the leader as opposed to the X's and O's guy?
[661] I want a guy that kind of projects football.
[662] Yeah, I want Campbell does that.
[663] I want a guy that does anyone projects football more than Dan Campbell?
[664] No. No, no. I want, yeah, I want all of Dan Campbell.
[665] I will say this.
[666] I have like a personal rankings list of winners and losers once we removed COVID masks.
[667] And Matt LaFleur was on my list of winners after we removed COVID masks.
[668] Because before you would only see half of people's faces when they had the COVID mask.
[669] Matt LaFleur, winner.
[670] Oh, and when he took it off, you realized what a good -looking man he is.
[671] Kevin Stefanski, loser.
[672] Right.
[673] Yeah, but Dan Campbell never wore a mask.
[674] That's why I want him to be my coach.
[675] You know what I'm saying?
[676] I don't know if that's actually accurate, but I believe.
[677] I'll go down that past with you.
[678] It's just the way I imagine it.
[679] I have no idea.
[680] His co -tee was his mask.
[681] You had him just punching COVID every time he saw.
[682] You just kicked the microphone.
[683] We're good.
[684] Are we?
[685] I have no idea.
[686] Me and Billy are taking Dan Campbell.
[687] That's who we're taking.
[688] Wentz, you got an answer?
[689] Leflea.
[690] Lifleu.
[691] Even with you.
[692] I'm thinking with you, Flint does.
[693] Little now or never for Le Fleur.
[694] Wow, that's a question.
[695] I mean, seriously, he's been the championship games with Aaron Rogers.
[696] Now he has a great young quarterback who's sitting out because unlike Tua, he knows how to negotiate and do business.
[697] I mean, now or never?
[698] Hmm.
[699] Yeah.
[700] I mean, now that Jordan Love is something, we didn't know if he was something before.
[701] Well, something or nothing.
[702] This is a big year to find out.
[703] Let me tell you, we're rolling with the games today.
[704] Big here to find out something or nothing, and then we've been, and then if it's nothing, who's to blame.
[705] My favorite part of the show so far is in the second segment, Billy goes, I'm not a man of games when that's literally all we've been doing for the past three days.
[706] That's part of the game.
[707] I do what needs to be done.
[708] Whether I'm a man of games or not, sometimes if I'm asked to become a man of games, I'll become a man of games.
[709] But those that know me, no, I'm not a man that's a man of games.
[710] You're a serious man. Listen, we're just filling time until the games actually start.
[711] The real game.
[712] I just think that this is just filling time.
[713] I think that we're doing a quality program here.
[714] Matt LaFleur is my answer.
[715] I agree.
[716] Yeah, okay, more Mikely.
[717] Oh, more Mikely to get his contract issues resolved by the start of the season.
[718] Tua or Stephen A. Smith?
[719] Wow.
[720] I mean, Stephen A is a guy.
[721] He will negotiate and he will negotiate some more.
[722] He will take his time.
[723] He is not getting taken advantage of because he's too nice the way Billy says to it is.
[724] That's what I'm saying.
[725] So Stephen A will take his time and he will get.
[726] it exactly right.
[727] Tua's going to accept whatever the hell they give him.
[728] So that's my answer.
[729] So you know Tua is going to get his contract result quicker than Stephen N. Yeah, just because Tua wants to play football.
[730] He's a nice guy.
[731] He wants to be there.
[732] He wants to play quarterback for this team.
[733] And therefore, he will take a contract for a lot less than he should take.
[734] Yes.
[735] Yeah.
[736] I'll go to it too, I suppose.
[737] Yeah.
[738] I mean, Stephen A loves this.
[739] He loves the negotiation.
[740] He loves the public negotiation.
[741] This is going to drag out for years.
[742] I'm kind of...
[743] He's in it for the chase.
[744] I'm kind of in on Stu's like the dolphins are waiting for DAC thing.
[745] So I don't think too...
[746] I don't think too...
[747] Because if you're the dolphins, you've already...
[748] You would have signed them already.
[749] Correct.
[750] And like you're not...
[751] So you're waiting around for all these guys that get paid, knowing every one of those guys that get paid, like Tua led the league in passing last year.
[752] So he has the most leverage in terms of what I've done.
[753] Like if you're going to do that?
[754] Like, what does Jordan Love have to stand on?
[755] He has one year.
[756] They actually went the NFC championship game.
[757] It was an up and down year.
[758] But Tua, like, led the league in passing.
[759] passing.
[760] He has like all the legs to stand on.
[761] You're still not giving him a deal.
[762] So the dolphins are like, well, he's going to play whether you pay him or not.
[763] So we might as well just wait around, see if Dallas fumbles a bag.
[764] And then you're in on that.
[765] Because if the dolphins, the dolphins can't just punt on two.
[766] Because punting on two, it means you're punting on Tyreek Hill.
[767] That means you gave Waddle all this money for nothing.
[768] So it's like, I don't know.
[769] It's, I think.
[770] Back and free agency is going to cost a lot more than Tua resigning.
[771] But I feel no doubt about it.
[772] But the sit and wait game is a dangerous game because keep in mind, Fuentes, maybe they start.
[773] one and three, but then Nick Saban takes over.
[774] That's true, but if they call Nick Saban, Nick Saban's like, I go, I'm going back to where it all started.
[775] I'm going to take my name to the promised land.
[776] Yeah, right.
[777] Mike McDaniels are crying in an airport somewhere.
[778] Right, and the Dak wants to stay in Dallas.
[779] And hey, Nick Saban and Tua relationship.
[780] Right.
[781] Oh, wow.
[782] Mind -blown.
[783] Look at you.
[784] I will say.
[785] This is what more Mike Lee's meant to do.
[786] I will say this.
[787] He did lead the league in passing last season.
[788] was a bit of a down year in terms of league leaders in terms of passing.
[789] It's been, it is the lowest passing yards per season since 2017 when Tom Brady led with 4 ,500.
[790] He had 4 ,600 in 2023.
[791] But just leading the league in passing in 2019, James Winston led the league in passing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
[792] And in 2020, he was on the Saints.
[793] So what you're saying is the dolphins need to call James Winston if this two, I think, doesn't work out.
[794] Let me say something.
[795] Electric.
[796] I'm a big James guy.
[797] I love James.
[798] Billy, I believe James was replaced by Tom Brady.
[799] Big James guy.
[800] Yeah, I mean, that's right he was.
[801] That'll do it.
[802] That's a good point.
[803] That'll do it.
[804] That will do it.
[805] He also led the league at interceptions.
[806] I know.
[807] It was a, man, it was a year.
[808] What a ride.
[809] What a ride that was for famous James.
[810] You got to pay to play, you know?
[811] Yeah.
[812] Anyway, more Mike Lee?
[813] Yeah.
[814] Okay.
[815] More likely to repeat as their version of player of the year.
[816] Christian McCaffrey or Miles Garrett.
[817] That's a good question.
[818] I'm going to say Miles Garrett.
[819] Why?
[820] I feel like his job is just dependent on him being a beast and dominating guys 101 where McCaffer needs a lot of things to fall into place.
[821] He needs a decent.
[822] And he's good at that.
[823] Yeah, he needs, but he needs like some good blocking.
[824] I mean, the scheme is there for him.
[825] Like, I thought he was going to be the MVP of the Super Bowl if they would have won.
[826] So I, but I think, I think Miles Garrett more likely.
[827] I'm going to say Christian McCaffrey.
[828] not because you said Miles Garrett and I want to go the opposite way.
[829] That offense is set up for McCaffrey to beat the guy and to have big years, especially with Brock Purdy as the quarterback.
[830] So I'm going to say McAfrey.
[831] I am going to say Miles Garrett and you're going to think I'm crazy for the reason, but I was going to do it because of health, which is crazy because Miles Garrett always has an injury history.
[832] He always has a little nick though.
[833] He always has like a little bit of shoulder thing.
[834] McCaffrey does as well, by the way.
[835] He's been injured throughout his crew.
[836] No, no, a lot.
[837] Jeffrey has some bumps and bruises along the way also, but I'm going to go with Miles Garrett.
[838] There?
[839] Yeah.
[840] We have one more?
[841] Yeah, sure.
[842] More likely, more likely to be on their current team next year.
[843] T. Higgins or Brandon Ayuk.
[844] This year.
[845] Next year.
[846] They're on their team.
[847] They're not getting traded.
[848] They're not getting cut.
[849] Oh, okay.
[850] So we're hopping in the time machine.
[851] So 2025 season.
[852] saying yeah looking ahead already on the next season huh looking ahead i can't get to this season quick enough i mean you're on the next season i'm gonna say i yuk he'll stay with the nineers i think he will and and it's not for the reason that you might think i don't think that it's going to be because he's happy i think it's going to be because of i believe private conversations that we've had here i think stu got to said it who is he to be making trade requests i'm pretty sure that's the comment that's gone around like um Let's make a top five list of people who shouldn't be making trade requests.
[853] And he is on the top of the list, as you have said.
[854] So I think he will be on this team.
[855] Not very happy, but he will still be remaining on this team.
[856] I'm going to go T. Higgins because who the hell would lead Joe Burrow?
[857] I'm going to say Brandon Ayuk, just because T. Higgins is already franchise tagged.
[858] Jamar Chase is in front of him.
[859] Jamar Chase is not going anywhere.
[860] If you're going to give a receiver money, it's going to be Jamar Chaser.
[861] It's not going to be T. Higgins.
[862] And also T Higgins said this might be the final ride So all those things together He said he might be the final ride That's negotiating right there He's negotiating employee But when you have Jamar Chase When you have Chase that makes your job easier If T Higgins thinks he's a number one Maybe he goes elsewhere That's what I think he's like I like being a number two I like let Jamar Chase have all the attention And expectations Have T Higgins over here Playing with a great quarterback.
[863] He stays there I want to do a new game Oh it's called Can I ask you guys a question?
[864] I like this like that yeah yeah like this game and yes you can yes can i ask you guys a question is requesting a trade worth anything anymore no i remember when players used to request a trade and then it was like well we got to trade them now and now it's just like it's the next step of deleting all the stuff on instagram like it seems like it's just a nothing thing that's my favorite move the deleting everything on instagram well yeah that's everybody's favorite move because it's it's the first shot though it's always the first shot like oh wait a minute this player might be unhappy he deleted all the stuff that's and then the negotiation yeah if you if you want bleacher report all over you just delete all your stuff on Instagram and take take the Baltimore Ravens out of your bio all of a sudden it's on fire yeah if you're the person that like is searching the bios to make sure that Baltimore Ravens is still on it get your priorities in order you think it's an intern that walks into the bleach report office in the morning and they're like hey we need you to check every player's bio get something to do make sure that's just it's too much Yes.
[865] It's too much.
[866] Anyway.
[867] You think a general manager has ever said, hey, he deleted us from his Instagram.
[868] I do think.
[869] John Lynch is walking around.
[870] Oh, no. I do think there's.
[871] McCaffrey deleted us out of the bio.
[872] I think there is a general manager.
[873] I don't know which one.
[874] Who does that?
[875] I think there definitely is one that's like, uh -oh.
[876] Guys, red flag.
[877] We're in trouble now.
[878] Guys, oh my God.
[879] You won't believe it.
[880] It would have to be a younger one, right?
[881] Or an older one that just doesn't understand how easy it is to do that.
[882] And then just restore it immediately.
[883] We have Billy's story of the week to get to.
[884] I'm very excited about that.
[885] We have a Fuentes top five to get to as well.
[886] And we have some other stuff as well.
[887] But Fuentes, when do you want to do your top five?
[888] Do you want to do it now?
[889] Do you want to do it next segment?
[890] Well, we got a minute left in the segment, but then that's going to leave a lot to do in the fourth segment.
[891] So we have to fill a bust her here for a minute.
[892] Okay.
[893] Okay.
[894] Or we can just go to the next segment.
[895] Let's go to the next segment.

[917] All right, running out of time here on Godless football, so we're going to jump right into my top five, and it's top five teams I'm worried about, headed into training camp, as we know.
[918] Wow, that's the top five I was hoping for.
[919] You teased it earlier.
[920] I was hoping that this is going to be in top five.
[921] All teams are reported training camp.
[922] Worried how.
[923] Can't wait.
[924] This is great.
[925] We're going to start with the number five, Cincinnati Bengals.
[926] Ooh.
[927] Okay.
[928] You guys saw Joe Burroughs haircut?
[929] Yeah.
[930] I agree with you.
[931] You know what?
[932] I was thinking, why the Bengals?
[933] They should not be in a top five.
[934] Anyone's top five of teams they're concerned about because the talent is so, the roster is so loaded with talent.
[935] But I did see Joe Burroughs haircut.
[936] And now I do agree with you.
[937] I am concerned about the Bengals as well.
[938] Questionable hair.
[939] Not his wrist, not his calf, his hair.
[940] Got it.
[941] Coming off an injury with that haircut, T. Higgins on a tag.
[942] Jamar Chase has some contract stuff.
[943] Zach Moss in the backfield, Joe Mixins in Houston.
[944] A little worried about Cincinnati Bengals.
[945] For those who haven't seen his hair, He looks like Eminem in like 1999.
[946] So last week we spoke about, you know, buzzing your hair.
[947] And since then it's been bleached as well.
[948] Yeah, buzzed and bleached.
[949] Yeah.
[950] Concerns.
[951] Yeah.
[952] Concerns.
[953] Number four.
[954] The Buffalo Bills.
[955] Right?
[956] Yeah, the Buffalo Bills.
[957] The last, the narrative of last few years, get Josh Allen help even when he had Stefan Diggs.
[958] And now he has Marquez Valdez Scantling, Mack Hollins, yes.
[959] Rookie Kion Coleman, Kalil Shakir, and Chase Claypool.
[960] You know what?
[961] You're right.
[962] Not great.
[963] That's less help than he's ever had.
[964] Not great.
[965] Number three, the Minnesota Vikings.
[966] Wow.
[967] They locked in Justin Jefferson, but I don't know.
[968] J .J. McCarthy, a guy?
[969] Hmm.
[970] Did you McCarthy a guy?
[971] New game.
[972] Guy or not a guy?
[973] Or not a guy.
[974] Sam Darnel, we know is not a guy.
[975] Don't you say a bad word about Sam.
[976] We don't know if Sam Donald's a guy yet, okay?
[977] You have to see him play somewhere else other than New York.
[978] He's like on his fourth team.
[979] There's still a shot.
[980] And Carolina.
[981] Yeah.
[982] And San Francisco.
[983] That's a moment in San Francisco.
[984] Other than that, though.
[985] Exactly.
[986] And the Packers are rising.
[987] The Lions are NFC championship team.
[988] The Bears have gotten better.
[989] Worried about the Minnesota Vikings.
[990] Why are you defending Sam Darnold's do you guys?
[991] He feels like he's still a jet.
[992] Because he's not Zach Wells.
[993] That's my reason.
[994] He's starting, by the way, as well, I think.
[995] Number two.
[996] The Los Angeles Chargers.
[997] Wow.
[998] Do you know where their big off -season signing was at receiver this year?
[999] They drafted a kid.
[1000] They drafted the kid from Georgia, Ladd -McConkey.
[1001] They lost Keenan Allen.
[1002] They lost Keenan Allen and they lost Mike Williams.
[1003] And Mike Williams.
[1004] So who was their big splash in the receiver pool this season?
[1005] Ooh.
[1006] DJ Chark.
[1007] Oh.
[1008] Signed DJ Chark.
[1009] They also got the broken pinball machine parts from the Ravens, Gus Edwards and J .K. Dobbins in their backfield after losing Austin Eccler.
[1010] So if Jim Harribal can find a way to make the offense tick, coach of the year.
[1011] Okay.
[1012] Is DJ the number one?
[1013] one in in Los Angeles?
[1014] No, I'd probably say it's the rookie kid.
[1015] Okay.
[1016] Ladd.
[1017] I'm just thinking about fantasy drafts.
[1018] You know, just because it hurts number one or two.
[1019] DJ Shark is going to be taking 10 rounds before you should be taking.
[1020] They still have Everett, right?
[1021] The tight end, Gerald Eberra, right?
[1022] So I can't believe DJ Chark would be the guy.
[1023] No, they still have the other guys, too, the guys that nobody really cares about.
[1024] What's his name Palmer?
[1025] Well, they got the first rounder they drafted last year, Quentin.
[1026] Johnson.
[1027] Yeah, but rough times for the Chargers offense.
[1028] Number one, we've already kind of talked about my Miami Dolphins.
[1029] Not because of Tua, even though that is a big thing.
[1030] But the D -line is in shambles.
[1031] Pass rush is not there.
[1032] They have two guys suffer season ending injuries.
[1033] Chubb coming back from an injury.
[1034] He's going to be back late.
[1035] I don't know what Jaylon Phillips going to look like.
[1036] They just re -signed Ogba, who they clearly didn't want, and they only signed him because Shaq Barrett retired.
[1037] So it's, it's, I'm worried about the pass rush.
[1038] So my five -time.
[1039] Right.
[1040] We did.
[1041] We got rid of Fragio, but, you know, a chef's only as good as his ingredients.
[1042] Wow.
[1043] I do like that because those are five teams that have expectations, yet you're saying that you're still concerned about them.
[1044] Yeah.
[1045] I mean, I'm sure that you can move around the top five, but the dolphins, the Dolphins defense gets concerning.
[1046] You do not know the rules of a top five.
[1047] Once you set it in stone, you cannot move it around.
[1048] For all eternity.
[1049] Let's get to Billy's story of the week.
[1050] It has turned into my favorite.
[1051] segment here on god bless football all right stu got this week's story of the week are you ready for it yeah and this is going to go into consideration for story of the month if you remember last week's good ask weeks a week month yeah if you remember well you haven't heard the story yeah come on this could be a great story you never know so if you remember last week's story of the week it was that patrick mahomes and his wife were expecting their third child and patrick announced this would be it this is the last child that the mohomes family would be having now this week's story of the going up against that one for Story of the Month is Lamar Jackson and Troy Aikman are in a legal battle over the number eight.
[1052] Troy Aikman recently tried to set up a trademark for the word eight, E -I -G -H -T, so that he could use it on, you know, different things.
[1053] And Lamar Jackson, there are reports that he sued Troy Akeman and other ones just that he has kind of put in a complaint against a notice of opposition at the U .S. Patent and Trademark Office because he thinks that people might get confused with Troy Aikman using the trademark 8 thinking that it is him.
[1054] So Stugats, one number 8 is kind of in a legal battle with another number 8 so that there's no confusion over who is number 8.
[1055] A couple of number 8's cutting it up, huh?
[1056] You think they should just split the difference and both get four?
[1057] When you hear the number 8, who do you think of?
[1058] Do you think of Troy Aikman or do you think of Lamar Jackson?
[1059] Or do you think of someone else?
[1060] I happen to have a list of top five athletes to wear the number eight of all time.
[1061] Wow.
[1062] Perhaps that will settle it.
[1063] You'll find something within there that will settle this debate.
[1064] Do you have any OLIs on that?
[1065] I don't.
[1066] I just have a straight five for you.
[1067] Oh, because some would think maybe a top eight of the number eight.
[1068] Yeah.
[1069] How did you not do a top eight number eight?
[1070] Listen, I'm sorry.
[1071] I have these top five list.
[1072] I was not prepared to do a top eight.
[1073] I'll add three names to it if you'd like me to do it.
[1074] No, that's okay.
[1075] Don't worry.
[1076] Sorry.
[1077] Don't worry about that.
[1078] It's a little late now.
[1079] You're top five.
[1080] It's not too late.
[1081] It's never too late.
[1082] Don't tell me it's too late.
[1083] Lucky us that you just had that list handy.
[1084] I know.
[1085] That's what I'm saying, but it's not a top eight list.
[1086] It's a top five list.
[1087] But if you want me to add three, I can add three.
[1088] Okay.
[1089] I'm happy to do it.
[1090] Why did you have that list waiting by you if you don't mind me asking?
[1091] I just, I have, it's always by me. You have all the numbers.
[1092] Yes, I have all the numbers.
[1093] You go to number 22.
[1094] I have it for you.
[1095] Emmett Smith.
[1096] There you go.
[1097] All right.
[1098] Okay.
[1099] Oh, L. I, by the way, Yogi Berra.
[1100] How about that?
[1101] So you do have an O -L -I.
[1102] Wow.
[1103] Yogi O -L -I.
[1104] Yeah, I want O -L -I.
[1105] Even though I said I didn't have one five seconds ago.
[1106] Number eight, number eight, Willie Sturgel.
[1107] Number seven, Joe Morgan.
[1108] I'm so confused.
[1109] Hold on a second.
[1110] You had a top five.
[1111] I said, are there any O -L -I's you said, no?
[1112] Just a straight top five.
[1113] And then I said, you think you have an eight.
[1114] And you said, no, only five.
[1115] And I felt bad because you were disappointed.
[1116] I didn't have eight, and now I wanted to give you eight, and now you don't want eight.
[1117] You're now giving us nine, though.
[1118] All right, that's a fair.
[1119] That's a fair point.
[1120] So is your top nine number eight?
[1121] That's an odd list to have handy.
[1122] It is, but I'm glad you had it.
[1123] All right, was number seven.
[1124] You know what?
[1125] Forget you.
[1126] I'm doing top five, straight five.
[1127] No, no. No, I can't go back again.
[1128] Now I need to know what seven and six are.
[1129] Okay.
[1130] I messed up.
[1131] I didn't mean O 'LI.
[1132] I met number eight.
[1133] So whatever the first name is that I said, I think it was Yogi Berra.
[1134] He's number eight on the list.
[1135] It was Yogi Berra.
[1136] It was.
[1137] Yogi Berra is number eight.
[1138] Number seven is Willie Storjel.
[1139] How about that?
[1140] Number six.
[1141] Number six is Joe Morgan.
[1142] Number five, Ray Guy, the greatest punter of all time.
[1143] Number four, Andre Dawson, who won an MVP.
[1144] He had no business winning on a last place team with the Chicago Cubs, but still a great number eight.
[1145] All the famer.
[1146] Number three, Carl Yostremski.
[1147] Yes.
[1148] Number two, Lamar Jackson.
[1149] Wow.
[1150] And number one, Kobe Bryant's.
[1151] Ooh.
[1152] Wow.
[1153] The greatest number eight and the greatest number 20.
[1154] Troy Aikman, not even on the list.
[1155] That should tell you all you need to know.
[1156] Get out of here, Troy.
[1157] Troy Aitman is one of the most.
[1158] overrated quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
[1159] I'm sorry.
[1160] He is.
[1161] God bless football.
[1162] The year was 2017 and I was a youngish man thinking I was invincible and nothing could stop me. I lost a bed and I said, you know what?
[1163] I'm going to bite into this onion because that is the punishment for losing this bet.
[1164] And boy did I learn, I was not invincible.
[1165] A lot's changed over the years.
[1166] One thing that hasn't, the great taste of Miller Light.
[1167] Another thing that hasn't changed is that it's less filling.
[1168] So what is the best thing about the original life?
[1169] beer.
[1170] Miller Light has sparked this debate since 1975, and we still haven't settled it.
[1171] My personal favorite, the great taste.
[1172] It goes with almost anything.
[1173] And now during the summer for your outside grilling, it's the perfect accompaniment to a nice warm burger hot dog.
[1174] You don't have to choose what's best.
[1175] Miller Light has great taste and is less filling.
[1176] Tastes like Miller Time.
[1177] To get Miller Light delivered right to your door, visit millerlight .com or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer.
