The Joe Rogan Experience XX
[0] Start recording, son!
[1] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the broadcast.
[2] Are we on?
[3] Yeah, we're on right now.
[4] Bitch.
[5] I'm going to get it so you can see it.
[6] If I had Twitter for, like, hooking up, call it Twan.
[7] Retwant.
[8] That's a terrible way to start off this show.
[9] No one heard that show.
[10] What are you talking about?
[11] People are online right now.
[12] Dude, there's like 100 people online, I'm sure.
[13] See how many people we've got.
[14] Ninety -four people.
[15] Do anybody hear that?
[16] They said a terrible goddamn joke.
[17] Wow, this is blocky as fuck.
[18] Look how goofy it looks.
[19] Serious fucking delay, too.
[20] What's happening?
[21] Eddie and Joe.
[22] When are we coming back to Philly?
[23] We'll be back to Philly eventually.
[24] I don't know when the UFC's going to be back in Philly.
[25] But people have been calling for young Eddie Bravo to be on the Joe Rogan podcast.
[26] He's here, ladies and gentlemen.
[27] There he is, Eddie Bravo.
[28] Man, there's like a five -second delay in the movie.
[29] I know.
[30] It's kind of weird, right?
[31] It's awkward.
[32] Hey guys.
[33] We're here in Charlotte, North Carolina.
[34] Pretty fucking badass town, isn't it?
[35] It's nice here.
[36] People are all friendly and shit.
[37] I like it.
[38] I like it.
[39] I rented a car for the first time coming to a UFC city, and you get to know the city a lot better when you have to know where the hell you're going.
[40] You know, we're so used to just jumping in fans and just not paying attention, and we really don't even know anything about the city.
[41] Renting cars is the key.
[42] Yeah, drive around.
[43] got to know the place.
[44] I like it here, man. It's real.
[45] It's all spread out.
[46] It's a, you know, it's like no congestion.
[47] People are all friendly.
[48] There's no tension here.
[49] It's a good -sized city.
[50] Charlotte's a good -sized city.
[51] It's not too crazy.
[52] You know, they're super friendly.
[53] I drove into the Wayans, and they were charging for parking.
[54] And since I drove and didn't go into it with a UFC van, I pulled up to the girl taking the money and go, listen, I actually work for the UFC.
[55] I just don't have my laminate, but I'll pay whatever.
[56] She's like, no, just drive right right in.
[57] I just drove Ryan and parked, went up to, I needed to get backstage.
[58] And again, I didn't have my credentials.
[59] So there's, like, security there, like, North Carolina security.
[60] I'm like, I need to get my credentials.
[61] Is that you like, I mean, can you direct me to a spot where I could speak to someone?
[62] She was just go backstage.
[63] I just walked backstage.
[64] It went right in.
[65] Zero security.
[66] Now, you're telling stalkers how they could meet fighters.
[67] Yeah.
[68] Next time in North Carolina, you have some ammo.
[69] Isn't this guy?
[70] Okay.
[71] I can't read this shit.
[72] It's too funny.
[73] Is your eyes bad?
[74] Is my eyes bad?
[75] Is your eyes be bad?
[76] Well, we froze up.
[77] You stream kind of sucks.
[78] You know, they all suck at these things.
[79] The internet's not quite ready for the shit yet.
[80] So, we just answer questions and shit?
[81] What stuff have we done in town?
[82] We haven't done shit in town, really.
[83] I went river rafting.
[84] Last night, Monday.
[85] Last night I had a show at a place called Amos's South End.
[86] A lot of fun.
[87] great crowd good times then afterwards it was a gentleman's club down the street we had to bring some dudes came to my show they had two books they wanted Eddie to sign it's actually kind of funny story and they wanted Eddie to sign his books so we had to get the books over to Eddie but and then we went to a waffle house and fucked up some waffles yeah that was a good time good times my friend in good times.
[88] What do I think about synthetic cannabis that's legal?
[89] That's kind of interesting shit, you know about that, man?
[90] Marinole?
[91] No, no, it's a synthetic cannabis.
[92] It's like, you know how they had that, when the whole Balco scandal came out, what it was, was a steroid that they had made that was just slightly different from regular steroids and was undetectable in tests because the regular steroids are what they were looking for in the test.
[93] They weren't looking for this stuff.
[94] Well, that's the same thing with this.
[95] There's a synthetic cannabis that you could smoke it as the same effects.
[96] and it doesn't show up in tests.
[97] What does it look like?
[98] It looks like wheat.
[99] It actually looks like wheat.
[100] Yeah, it looks like that.
[101] So it's a plant.
[102] Yeah, yeah.
[103] And they've just, wow.
[104] They've just grown it.
[105] I mean, it makes sense.
[106] I mean, they figured out a way to, I didn't know about this.
[107] Botanists have figured out a way a long time ago to put THC into other things.
[108] Like, there was an article online where this guy was trying to put THC and tomatoes, get tomatoes to grow TACC.
[109] Like, they can fuck with plants and have them, you know, you know, different plants produce more vitamin C and different plants do certain things.
[110] And, you know, they're trying to figure out how to make these, I guess they have figured out how to make weed that doesn't show up in drug tests.
[111] Pretty crazy.
[112] And it's legal.
[113] So if you work for UPS or something like that and they drug test you and you can't smoke weed, you can smoke the fuck out of this stuff.
[114] How long has it been out?
[115] It's been out for a while, man. They're trying to make it illegal.
[116] It's a big deal now.
[117] They're trying to make it illegal.
[118] Holy shit.
[119] There's dirty bitches.
[120] So you could sell it anywhere?
[121] Is this the stuff that they're selling in High Times magazines?
[122] No, that bullshit.
[123] That stuff's not real at all.
[124] Yeah, what's up with that shit?
[125] Anybody else up with that?
[126] High Times Magazine is whack.
[127] That is the weakest shit ever, that fake weed that they sell.
[128] That is so dumb.
[129] But they say that that's like a big part of their advertising revenue.
[130] I think that's just because they're fucking lazy.
[131] You know, you're telling me that everyone's so afraid of weed that can't advertise their products in your magazine?
[132] Come on.
[133] But, yeah, you can sell fake weed.
[134] You're just ripping people off.
[135] That's all that is.
[136] That stuff doesn't get anyone high.
[137] But this other stuff does.
[138] This other stuff is real shit.
[139] Eddie's here.
[140] Eddie is here.
[141] Eddie is here.
[142] Talk about UFOs already.
[143] Michael Chevello, the guy from K -1 and, you know, Dream, you know, the Australian dude that we hung out with in the Australia.
[144] He's a big UFO guy.
[145] And he was down at the Roswell Museum.
[146] And he actually saw a UFO and took fucking photos of it and shit.
[147] fuck yeah that's pretty crazy yeah i mean who the fuck knows man if you have any UFO questions uh go ahead and shoot did i finish the entire plate of food you post on twitter i finished most of it i fuck up some food folks especially after shows after shows i can fuck up some food you know after the UFC too you burn off a lot of energy just talking it doesn't seem like you would but you do like a red man did he actually say something falapo saturday What does that mean?
[148] I don't know what he's doing Did I watch that train wreck prison wives On the Discovery Channel No, there's a show about Chicks whose husbands are in prison Oh, I might have to TiVo that way Yeah, what channel?
[149] Help TiVo that shit Discovery Channel, that might be good Oh, the History Channel documentary I know what I saw Yeah, I saw that one too That was kind of interesting That was the best documentary I've ever seen on UFOs, definitely.
[150] I know what I saw.
[151] It was one of those rare documentaries about UFOs that didn't have like that.
[152] The other side, you know, they didn't have a guy going, well, you know, it's all just mythology, and, you know, it's in their minds, and they're all crazy, and why are they landing in Idaho all the time?
[153] Why not in big cities?
[154] They didn't have any of those guys, because it was so ridiculous, because it had so many high -ranking military officers coming forward.
[155] You know, that one case in England on a U .S. base where that 80 witnesses, and three of the guys went up to it and touched it and wrote down notes on it, and they all came up in the Ministry of Defense totally, they said, this is not a concern of national defense.
[156] That's what, that's their comment.
[157] So that is, that alone right there is pretty crazy.
[158] And those Arizona lights, I mean, people saying there was, I don't know how many witnesses, but.
[159] The Arizona lights are pretty crazy.
[160] I know a dude who lived in Arizona saw that.
[161] And he said he saw the fucking, the big pyramid thing flying through the air.
[162] And they're saying it's like bigger than aircraft carrier.
[163] He said it was like a football field.
[164] Yeah.
[165] He said it was gigantic, big pyramid -shaped thing flying through the sky.
[166] Who the fuck knows?
[167] You know, my take on UFOs is, um, it's a big, you know, it's a big pyramid -shaped thing flying through the sky.
[168] There really were aliens that could come here from another planet.
[169] Do you think that they would be so silly that they wouldn't disguise themselves?
[170] I think a lot of the shit we see all the time could be UFOs.
[171] I told you about that crazy dude that told me that he was showing me pictures of clouds.
[172] Yes.
[173] There's a dude that I know is a comedian.
[174] He's a very nice guy.
[175] And the other day, I'm talking to him at the improv.
[176] And Homeboy says, what do you think about UFOs?
[177] And I said, well, you know, hey, man. I don't know.
[178] I haven't seen one, but I don't discount the idea.
[179] I mean, it's certainly possible.
[180] Obviously, we have spaceships, and if someone from other planets, if they're more intelligent than us, for sure, they could have spaceships.
[181] So he starts pulling out his iPhone, and the dude has, like, dozens of pictures of clouds on his phone.
[182] And I'm like, what is that?
[183] What do you think about this?
[184] Look at this right there.
[185] And I go, it's a cloud.
[186] And he goes, yeah, but it's an unusually shaped cloud.
[187] Look at it.
[188] And I'm like, oh, no, he's crazy.
[189] I'm like he's fucking crazy This dude takes pictures of clouds All different clouds And he's convinced that these clouds are UFOs Yeah But on one hand you got to think like If you really are so super intelligent That you can visit from other planets Why would you, you know For sure we're working on cloaking devices right now There's already this Japanese jacket That's been invented That basically takes an image Of what's behind you And broadcast it on the front of the jacket It's basically like Predator type shit.
[190] You remember from the movie The Predator?
[191] Yeah, yeah.
[192] And they really have this already.
[193] I mean, it's not perfected, but we can't travel to other planets yet either.
[194] You know what I'm saying?
[195] So if someone from another planet is so much more highly intelligent than we are that they can actually travel here from other galaxies or other solar systems, for sure, they've figured something like this out.
[196] So when you're seeing the sky, I mean, it's very possible, you know, that what you're seeing is if there are UFOs, you would see an image of the sky behind the UFO being projected on the UFO.
[197] So you wouldn't see shit.
[198] You know, that said, if you take into account how many UFOs are reported, I mean, it's like there's some ridiculous amount of UFOs reported.
[199] And if you take into account how many people see and don't report, they don't say anything because they don't want to look foolish.
[200] You know, that's a lot of goddamn UFOs.
[201] I think a lot of what people are seeing is military jets that they don't understand.
[202] And, like, when I was in, we did Fear Factor down near Edwards Air Force Base, and they had stealth bombers that flew up.
[203] Dude, you see a stealth bomber?
[204] You think that's a goddamn spaceship.
[205] Yeah, the French government did a test with some, it was a serious review of all the, there's like 50 ,000 or something, like something, 50 ,000 since a certain year.
[206] There's probably way more.
[207] But they came to the conclusion that 90 ,000.
[208] 5 % of reported cases can be explained away with that military all this high -ranking military or this top secret military planes and different lights.
[209] But they said 5 % most likely are aircraft from other worlds.
[210] Well, I don't know why they can say aircraft from other worlds because I don't necessarily think we have a perfect inventory of what exists in this world.
[211] No, but they're saying that that's probably what that is more More likely, it's some extraterrestrial craft than, I mean, there's 5 % of the evidence.
[212] Just because it's not from our government or the Russian government doesn't necessarily mean even it's from another planet.
[213] We don't know what the fuck is in the ocean.
[214] Well, you know, that's ridiculous.
[215] But a lot of UFOs get cited coming out of the, out of the other.
[216] Yeah, there was a whole history channel documentary about that.
[217] And people go, well, that's ridiculous.
[218] That's nonsense.
[219] That's silly.
[220] It's silly that you can send a fucking picture that you could take this fucking thing and send a video.
[221] across the sky into somebody else's phone in Australia.
[222] That's way more silly than some people from another planet have visited here or that there's something living in the ocean.
[223] Especially when you have guys like ex -Penegon high -ranking officials, like Philip Corso, who before he died, he wrote a book and he explained his job in the government in the Pentagon was taking crash UFO stuff, taking it to Hughes Aircraft and Lockheed and all these different aerospace companies to reverse engineering.
[224] He's saying he was like, there's many interviews on YouTube with Philip Corsley, he's dead now.
[225] He was on Dateline, and they tried to, like, ridicule him.
[226] But, you know, how do you...
[227] Jay Allen Heineck, too, is another excellent example.
[228] That Jay Allen Heinek was the guy who was in charge of Project Blue Book, and he was told by the government when they had this thing to explain away everything, swamp gas, you know, mass hysteria, anything they could do to explain away UFO cases.
[229] But as he became more involved in Project Blue Book and as he investigated more and more sightings and, you know, and dealt with more and more evidence, he became absolutely convinced that UFOs were real.
[230] So Jay Allen Heinek, who is, you know, like a guy actually working to discredit UFOs, eventually came out and started supporting the whole UFO movement.
[231] So I think it's not ridiculous to think that we've been visited.
[232] I mean, we go to the Congo all the time and stare at chimpanzees, you know.
[233] I mean, if you were from another planet and you had the ability to travel here, why wouldn't you check out people?
[234] People are fucking completely ridiculous.
[235] They're probably fascinating.
[236] I mean, what would be more?
[237] We study lower forms of animals.
[238] We always have, and we have been doing this since the beginning of time.
[239] I mean, people have always been interested in botany, and we've always been interested in studying different monkeys and different weird animals and other kinds.
[240] And that's the whole thing with Darwin.
[241] You know, he took, you know, he took an account of all these different animals that he came across.
[242] We've always done shit like that.
[243] And I think if we were a much higher intelligence than human beings, we would want to do that with people.
[244] We would want to check out and see what the fuck people are up to.
[245] See if people are evolving.
[246] See what the bottleneck is as far as social and cultural evolution.
[247] And see what the bottleneck is as far as technological evolution.
[248] And whether or not our technology is surpassing our ability as a human being like to make rational decisions and i think it probably is right now you know they just fired up the large hadron collider yesterday you know yesterday was like the first test noz pohato is watching what is that i think i think that that looks like i think that looks like al dutarito i don't know if you don't know uh pooha is uh is uh portuguese this Brazilian guys say poja all the time it's like it sort of means like fuck or balls it means like a bunch of different things they say it all the time it says balls it means balls I think it means jizz oh jiz yeah yeah not balls I heard a bunch of different translations but to me Nospohatu is the fighting vampire you know what I mean Draculino Draculino is a famous Baja Gracie black belt and Draculine I guess he looks like Dracula or something so I call him Nospohatu He's the Brazilian vampire.
[249] That's funny.
[250] That's funny.
[251] Am I not going to commentate?
[252] Yeah, I'm going to commentate.
[253] That shit's in the...
[254] I'm going to leave in a half an hour.
[255] We're chilling here in the hotel room.
[256] Getting ready to go down there and commentate.
[257] Yeah, I'm going to commentate.
[258] What do I think about Scientology?
[259] I think it's awesome if you're gay and you want to cover it up.
[260] You get real good at that shit.
[261] It's all nonsense.
[262] All religions are nonsense.
[263] You know just as much as I'm not.
[264] I know as far as like what happens when you die.
[265] No one knows.
[266] I think really you know what I think religion is awesome if you do it right if you do it right if like you do the right thing and help your neighbors like my grandma was hardcore Catholic and I wouldn't try to convince her like if she was still allowed to get out of that she was doing she's going to church every day praying and that praying is like meditating she was meditating so I think just like like having a healthy heart you could some people can do kettlebells some people could run on her treadmill.
[267] Some people run stairs.
[268] Some people do martial arts.
[269] That's for a healthy heart.
[270] It all works.
[271] And I think religion, whether you're doing the Jesus or the Allah or the Buddha or meditation or yoga, it doesn't really matter.
[272] As long as you get your frequency at the right spot with the universe, it doesn't matter if you do the Jesus thing.
[273] You know, so I think that...
[274] I think you're right.
[275] Yeah.
[276] I think whatever you, whatever gets you in that right frequency, you could worship your If iPhone, if you actually believe that and you can meditate to your iPhone, I think the universe don't give a fuck.
[277] They're like, how are you going to get to our frequency?
[278] That's all that matters.
[279] The real problem is people.
[280] The real problem is the same thing.
[281] You know what it is?
[282] It's the same thing.
[283] When someone believes in something, even if they believe in something completely irrational, they want everyone else to believe in it too.
[284] People love everyone else to be on their team.
[285] That's why, like, you ever talk to people that use Windows and they find out they use Mac?
[286] And they're like, what the fuck, man?
[287] You use Mac?
[288] Macs for faggots.
[289] And they get crazy.
[290] they want you to use windows it's like people want you to be muslim they want you to be a scientologist they want you to be a catholic you know that's the real problem is that people want you to to to subscribe to their ideology but the idea behind it you know being a better person and you know and treating everybody as if they're yourself and you know that all that's that's the way to go i mean it really is but that fucking handing out the basket and fucking kids and all that other shit that, you know, involved in religion.
[291] Fucking kids, I have to admit.
[292] I'm not into that.
[293] I'm against that.
[294] I saw that, Deliver Us from Evil that he recommended.
[295] Come on.
[296] He recommended this documentary, and you guys should check it out, too.
[297] It's called Deliver Us from Evil.
[298] If you want to find out how fucked up the Catholic Church really is, oh my God, is this incredible.
[299] You see the whole thing?
[300] Yeah, well, I couldn't watch the whole thing.
[301] I watched about an hour and 10 minutes into it.
[302] Dude, did you get to the point where it turns out that guy's done like hundreds of kids?
[303] Yeah, yeah.
[304] I couldn't take it.
[305] I wanted to kill him.
[306] I mean, it's really a really sick, sick documentary about this priest who is responsible for molesting hundreds of kids.
[307] And, you know, they covered it up.
[308] They kept moving them.
[309] They moved them all over the country.
[310] And really, it's incredible.
[311] And that's what's going on right now, that gigantic scandal that's happening right now with the Pope.
[312] I mean, the Pope had knowledge of all this fucking shit that was going on.
[313] There's so many pedophiles in the Catholic Church.
[314] I bet they're all pedophiles.
[315] I bet they're all pedophiles.
[316] files because if it was just all it's a giant percentage because it was if it was just if it was half of them or a quarter of them they would be busting each other out there would there would be people coming forward saying we got to stop the shit they're all covering each other's asses I mean think about it there they chose a job where they can't get any pussy well the whole idea you know what I mean that's got to drive you insane and anybody who accepts a job that you can't get laid you got to be fucked up already.
[317] You already got, and I think my theory is that when these guys grow up gay, they're growing up in a religious home, and then once they find out they're gay, they realize, oh, shit, maybe Satan is inside of me. I got this gay feelings.
[318] Oh, my God, I got to fight Satan.
[319] So they become ultra -religious and ultra -Catholic.
[320] And then they're trying to prove to God that they're going to fight the gay.
[321] They're going to devote their life to God.
[322] They become a priest, and then bam, they hold it together for the first few years.
[323] And then they lose it.
[324] Have you ever seen that video God hates us?
[325] Have you ever seen that video God hates fags.
[326] No. The guy who's a gay guy who's singing about being Christian.
[327] You never seen that?
[328] No, I'm going to find that shit.
[329] You know what?
[330] I got to get the fuck out of here.
[331] No, no, no. Wait.
[332] You know, I got to leave, man. We don't have to leave for 20 minutes.
[333] We leave there.
[334] I got a shower still.
[335] Yeah, but the fights don't even start for more than an hour.
[336] And I got to get my hair did.
[337] Come on, man. Your hair looks groovy.
[338] You got to check this out.
[339] People don't get to see you on YouTube.
[340] How long it takes to blow dry my hair?
[341] No. How much?
[342] You don't have to wash your hair, man. 15 minutes, man. I got to find this video because it's so ridiculous.
[343] It's a dude.
[344] who's a gay dude who's fighting against it and he says Jesus is the only man for me I'm it's just genius hold on it's like uh those guys that Borat or I not bought Bruno fucks with here the God hates a fag song it's real this is a real song you have to see this because it's so goddamn genius I don't know this guy this is a real song this is a real dude look at his mustache first of all his mustache alone hold Let me put this up for you guys.
[345] You have to watch this.
[346] I just put it up on Twitter.
[347] It's so genius.
[348] Help me fight these feelings.
[349] Come on.
[350] are you sure yes it's real look at his fucking mustache and not that that's proof it is real this is a real fucking song man this is a real Christian guy who's singing this and there's another video with him discussing the controversy there's no back door he's no back door he's wearing a pink shirt if you could drop like a video so you can watch it too yeah we can't do that we have to figure Like on I chat?
[351] This is fucking genius.
[352] Look at this.
[353] Come on, the world is way better than any comedy that you can like.
[354] It's just not put together, right?
[355] It's not edited.
[356] You got to go find it.
[357] You got to go put all the parts together.
[358] But the world has way more comedy than anything you could ever make on your own.
[359] Look at this guy.
[360] This fucking mustache is killing me. This is fucking mustache is killing me. The trouble must have to be to be a gay dude and be religious and to think that God hates you.
[361] You could always be a priest.
[362] If you haven't seen that video, you've got to watch it because it's completely ridiculous.
[363] And, by the way, totally real.
[364] You know, the fucking dude is a gay guy who converted to Christianity and he's like, you know, trying to tell people the right way to go.
[365] It's pretty awesome.
[366] It's pretty awesome stuff.
[367] Where's your lighter?
[368] Yeah, put it up in the air, bro.
[369] Well, I...
[370] Let's get lighter.
[371] Oh, yeah.
[372] Yeah.
[373] Do we watch Tim and Eric?
[374] Yeah, man. Tim and Eric rocks.
[375] That's probably top three favorite shows.
[376] That in Celebrity Rehab.
[377] Hmm.
[378] That fucking thing, Dance Floor Dale, if you haven't seen that, do a Google search for Dance Floor Dale.
[379] It's got to be one of the funniest fucking videos I've ever seen in my life, the weirdest, funniest things on the internet ever.
[380] Dance Floor Dale, you got to see this.
[381] Got to find it.
[382] Find it.
[383] It's online.
[384] It's on my website.
[385] You can find it on Joe Rogan.
[386] dot net season three of tim and erika's because they keep having recurring sketches and they just get funnier and funnier the more the more developed uh here's a good question for you what does damien may and his jihitsu bring to the table that latus didn't versus silva because damian may is fighting anderson sylva next week dude i think abodami next week i think damian maya is a better guard pooler than Talas late us.
[387] Talas would pull guard, but he wouldn't clinch up first.
[388] So, you know, Silva doesn't, there's not going to just fall in.
[389] You've got to really shoot deep with an underhook and you've got to make the guy sprawl.
[390] And if he doesn't sprawl, you know, because you didn't take a deep shot, you're not going to pull him into your guard.
[391] And David Meyer likes to shoot deep in pull guard.
[392] I think that'll be the difference.
[393] There's no way he's going to stand with Anderson Silva, you know, just based on, not just based on Anderson Silva's career and what he's done, but based on his last fight where he tried to stand for a little bit with Nate Marquard and he he's going to pull guard immediately trust me he's not going to fuck around anymore with that shit I hope that's true but I didn't think he was going to try to stand with Nate either well he stood with them for one punch and that was just one punch too long and he's not going to think that him he's training with Vanderlai and Vandale is you know a known brawler you know do you think that uh that style of uh getting in there and just mixing it up and getting ugly that's a not it's not a good style for a guy who's not very technically proficient at striking You know, he's just so good on the ground.
[394] Why give your opponent any kind of chance standing, especially Anderson Silva.
[395] What are you going to try to mix it up a little bit with him?
[396] That's a big fucking mistake.
[397] He's going to pull guard immediately, trust me. Or try to take him down because, you know, Anderson Silva isn't some NCAA national champion or anything.
[398] So I'm sure Damon Maia is really going to take a shot for real and for real try to take him down.
[399] But if he has any trouble, he will pull guard.
[400] No problem.
[401] I guarantee that.
[402] Yeah, we've definitely seen Anderson been taken down before.
[403] I mean, he got taken down many times by Travis Luter.
[404] No, Travis Luter probably had the most success.
[405] But you've got to think about that fight.
[406] Travis Luter fought Anderson 11 weeks after Anderson had knee surgery on both knees.
[407] So that probably wasn't the best representation of his wrestling.
[408] Then Dan Henderson took him down as well.
[409] And when Dan Henderson took him down, he wasn't able to do anything to him.
[410] He just kind of like held him down on the ground, punched him a few times, really couldn't get anything going, you know?
[411] So that's the big question is, is Anderson's jiu -jitsu good enough to stifle Damian Maya?
[412] Because Damian Maya had a hard time with Dan Miller in his last fight, really couldn't get anything going with him.
[413] I mean, he ground and pounded him, and, you know, he beat him by decision, but never came close to finishing him with a submission.
[414] No. And I think Dan Miller is a real good, real tough guy, but I think Anderson's jujitsu is at least as good as Miller's.
[415] I mean, on paper, at least, he's a black belt, and Miller's a brown belt.
[416] But Miller has wrestled his whole life.
[417] There's a big difference.
[418] That's a different kind of animal when you're grappling with a real legit wrestler.
[419] And Anderson Silver has long limbs.
[420] I like going with guys that have long arms.
[421] Rubber guards a lot easier with taller guys.
[422] It's harder for them to pull out of anything.
[423] They have long arms.
[424] Like the small, 145 short, 5 foot 5 stocky wrestler types, it's hard to get any rubber guard on because they pop their arms out so easily.
[425] They're really small.
[426] So I think David Maya is going to have more success with his jujitsu with Anderson -Silva.
[427] If he gets him to the ground than he did with Miller.
[428] Because Miller, again, he's only a brown belt, but damn, he wrestled his whole life.
[429] That's a different kind of animal right there.
[430] He's a chimpanzee.
[431] The other thing about Anderson is that Anderson has had elbow problems for years.
[432] He's had bone chunks floating around his elbow that made training really deep.
[433] difficult.
[434] He would have to ice his elbows after training.
[435] Sometimes he couldn't do any weightlifting, any strength and conditioning because his elbows hurt.
[436] He finally got all that shit fixed.
[437] He got the elbow chunks, the piece of bone taken out.
[438] So we're going to see an Anderson Silva that's in a better condition than we've seen him in a long, long time.
[439] He's had a problem throwing his right hand because of it, which is really hard to believe when you see his fights.
[440] Big Country Nelson went tonight by Fat Mission.
[441] How dare you?
[442] Let me tell you something, man. Fat, A big guy like Roy Nelson, that weight centralized in his stomach, he knows how to hold you with that shit.
[443] That can keep you in a certain position.
[444] He's really good at keeping his weight on you.
[445] We have a dude that we train with.
[446] Brent gets you inside control, man. That motherfucker is really hard to get off you.
[447] And he's built similar to big country, not as fat, but he's got a big gut.
[448] And, you know, and he's talented as well.
[449] He's a good jiu -jitsu guy.
[450] And when he gets on top of you and, you know, he gets a good position on you, is really hard, him off you he plants that weight down on you and holds you in place and big country if I had a guess what's going to happen tonight with struv you know I would say that big country if he gets him down the ground struve's going to be in a lot of trouble yeah yeah but struve has a lot of potential he might be he might be the underdog in this fight he probably should be based on his experience and he's really young and country's been grappling for a long time he's really good on the ground people haven't really seen that he likes to stand in bag but country nelson's really good on the ground He's really good.
[451] He's really good.
[452] I mean, he beat Frank Mir, was it, like 11 to nothing in a submission match?
[453] Yeah, he's really, he's got a great half -guard game, too.
[454] We just haven't really seen it.
[455] But Struve, in the long run, has so much potential.
[456] I mean, that guy, that's like, he's like 26, 8 or something like that.
[457] He's super tall, and he loves Jiu -Jitsu.
[458] You never see that.
[459] You never see tall guys like that who are athletic and coordinated, love Jiu -Jitsu.
[460] I mean, we've seen Sammy Sheld.
[461] He didn't like Jiu -Jitsu.
[462] I don't know what other tall guy, but, you know, Kendall Grove, that's another tall guy who likes Jiu Jitsu, but it's true, if he continues to evolve and remains a student of the game, in everything, of course, striking and wrestling as well, but in Jiu -Jitsu, the way he's moving, and, you know, we've talked several times about jiu -jitsu and strategy and philosophies and stuff, and he's on the right track.
[463] He, you know, I don't know if he can beat country at this point.
[464] in his career.
[465] Maybe, maybe not.
[466] But get that guy another five, six, seven years.
[467] If he continues to evolve, he can be a serious threat with that height.
[468] His guard could be insane.
[469] Yeah, no kidding.
[470] If he decided to be a ninja off his back, fuck.
[471] He's only 22.
[472] That's the other thing about that kid.
[473] He's real young.
[474] He's got a massive, massive amount of time ahead of him, you know, and a lot of potential.
[475] And he's got crazy heart.
[476] Remember in Germany when he got cut wide open, was bleeding all over the place.
[477] Who did he fight in that fight?
[478] Fuck, I don't remember.
[479] He got in trouble.
[480] He got cut real bad, and he still pulled it out and wound up submitting the dude, so it was pretty badass.
[481] Do another U -stream tonight.
[482] Maybe, maybe we will.
[483] If we get back to the hotel, it'll be late here, and I don't go to bed until late on the West Coast, so it'll be early for me. So, yeah, we could do that.
[484] We could come after the after -party and do it non -sober.
[485] This is a sober version of the U -S.
[486] stream because I got to go do the broadcasting right now.
[487] Gomi or Ken Flo.
[488] Who the fuck knows, son?
[489] That's why they got to do it.
[490] I think it's exciting having Gomi over here.
[491] I would have liked to see him over here years ago, but, you know, he's still young and he's got a lot to prove, you know, and I think he's training real hard.
[492] He looked in real good shape, and he's saying all the right things that he wants to really make another run and get another run at PJ Penn. And he's obviously got to get through Kenny to do that, so I think it's going to be real interesting.
[493] he's a solid wrestler and he's a big power puncher you know he hits hard so uh i think kenny's going to try to use his legs uh kenny's got real good leg kicks real good movement he's going to try to use his footwork work work him with leg kicks and uh then if it goes to the ground he'll try to submit him and cut him up with elbows the thing about gomi is gomi has not fought anybody uh ever with the elbow rules you know elbows are different man especially the cage you know cage and elbows, you know, those are two totally different things that he's never experienced before.
[494] So it's going to be interesting.
[495] It's going to be interesting.
[496] And Kenny, man, he gets better every time.
[497] I got to get out of here, guys.
[498] I got to get ready.
[499] Got to jump in the shower.
[500] Yeah, we're going to leave in 10 minutes.
[501] Pre -lilums.
[502] Thank you very much.
[503] I'll do this again.
[504] Yeah, come out of my house.
[505] We'll do a full version.
[506] Fuck, yeah.
[507] Let's do it.
[508] All right.
[509] You want to leave with us?
[510] You know what?
[511] I'm going to just take my own car.
[512] Okay.
[513] I'm going to be running.
[514] You got the rental.
[515] Yeah, yeah.
[516] I'll be cool.
[517] I'll see you there, man. We'll see in 10 minutes.
[518] First fight for 515 or something?
[519] Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, 515.
[520] Yeah, it's 4 .05 right now.
[521] Ladies and gentlemen, finally we're alone.
[522] So, that's the story.
[523] I got to leave in 10 minutes, so I should get my shit going.
[524] Yeah, I wanted to do just a little show because I couldn't do one last week because I had a staff infection that I had to deal with, so I didn't fucking die.
[525] That's the problem with Jiu -Jitsu, man. You know, you go out with dirty motherfuckers and you get weird skin shit, you know?
[526] Weird diseases.
[527] I know a dude who got herpes on his head.
[528] What?
[529] Yeah, you can get herpes from Jiu -Jitsu.
[530] Not good.
[531] The deal with me getting a serious radio show.
[532] I'm going to do a weekly show.
[533] I think I'm going to do like a six -week run, a trial run.
[534] And it's all dependent on my scheduling because I just signed a deal to write a book.
[535] I've been writing it for a while, but they've been negotiating about a deal, and we finally got the right deal.
[536] And I was in New York last week, and I met with the publishers.
[537] They came out to see me when I performed at Gotham, so I got a nice deal, and I'm getting ready.
[538] And the deal is that I have to finish the book by August.
[539] So I'm going to be guns blazing, trying to write this thing and finish it.
[540] Most of the stories, it's going to be mostly about the beginning days of doing stand -up because I have so many crazy stories about bad road gigs and just struggling on the road and, you know, like what it's like to be, really an amateur comedian trying to, you know, go out there and get people to laugh for money and, you know, and how fucking crazy it is and how unsure it is and how you really have no idea if it's ever going to work out and you feel, you know, it's completely insecure, you know, you feel like there's no way this is ever going to really turn out to be a career and how nutty some of the fucking.
[541] gigs I've done were.
[542] Why wasn't you at weigh -ins yesterday?
[543] I don't even think I'm going to answer that because it's so retardedly written.
[544] But if somebody else asks it, I'll answer it.
[545] I wasn't at the way -ins because I didn't get any time.
[546] My flight didn't land until 4 o 'clock, so they had Goldberg do the way -ins.
[547] And then I had my show last night.
[548] You know, because we were in New York, and then I flew back from New York Sunday.
[549] I had Monday to stay home with my family.
[550] And then Tuesday flew out again.
[551] So unless I'd stayed here in Charlotte, there was no way, really, I was going to be able to get to the way -ins.
[552] But, you know, I didn't really, there's too much traveling.
[553] I need to be home at least a couple days a week.
[554] Otherwise, I got nutty.
[555] When you have babies, man, you just can't wait to go home and see him, you know.
[556] How's Hardy's arm?
[557] Hardy's fine.
[558] Hardy doesn't have any problems.
[559] There's nothing wrong with him.
[560] I can't believe it.
[561] You know, his shoulder, his arms, you know.
[562] I think George St. Pierre didn't quite have the arm bar right, but the Camorra, there was at one point in time, the Camorra, I thought it was just going to rip off.
[563] I mean, it looked pretty bad.
[564] Bring back some chicks from the after party at least.
[565] No, I can't do that anymore.
[566] I made babies, and I made a wife and all that shit.
[567] When I do want to show Aziz and Zari, I don't know him, but I think.
[568] Yeah, I think he's on that show, the Kevin and Bean show that I'm doing this weekend, April Foolishness.
[569] I think it's either Friday or Saturday night, one of those.
[570] I'm not sure which.
[571] I'll tell you right now.
[572] I think it's Saturday.
[573] Yeah, Saturday.
[574] It's at the Gibson Amphitheater and Universal, and I'm pretty sure it's way sold out.
[575] Those guys always sell out their shows.
[576] It's a really good lineup, too.
[577] A lot of funny comedians.
[578] I did it last year with Pat and Oswald did it, Ray Romano.
[579] Ray Ramano, Pat and Oswald.
[580] Jeff Ross, a bunch of good guys.
[581] I know Jeff's on it again this year.
[582] I think Jay Moore's on it again this year, too.
[583] Is Ariani hot or what?
[584] She's hot if you're not gay.
[585] If you're gay, she's probably not hot.
[586] The Buffer 360 tonight, I think he said he would never do that again.
[587] I think he said the Buffer 360 is going to retire.
[588] He's going to put that shit in the books.
[589] It's over sun.
[590] What do I think about crop circles?
[591] I think there are incredible geometric patterns.
[592] whether or not humans made them, who the fuck knows?
[593] You know, I mean, there's a lot of people that argue that it's impossible for people to make them, that they're, you know, three times the size of a football field and they appear overnight and they're in perfect geometric, you know, patterns and circles and everything.
[594] I don't know, you know.
[595] I think it's very intriguing, you know, at the very least, some of them are fascinating because they're so fucking huge, you know, and if really, I mean, if people really are making these things, you know and uh they're flattening them out and just leaving them there it's like wow there's it's such incredible geometric art you would think that they would want to take credit for that you know if it's just a hoax it's incredible that it's a hoax that they've kept up for this long like how sneaky are they and what's the what's the benefit of that what's the what's the reward i don't know i mean i don't have an opinion one way or another though i um i think it's also possible that it could be some sort of an experiment that they do to impose geometric patterns in these fields it might be something that they do you know from the sky or something like that and who the fuck knows how they're doing it if you talk to some people that uh say that these patterns the way they're made that the uh the the nodes of these plants have been blown out like they've had energy pulse through them like microwaves like expanded i don't you know i don't know though i really personally have not done enough research and really paid attention to both sides of the argument i know one side of the argument is that it's bullshit.
[596] And the other side of the argument is that it's aliens.
[597] You know, and both of them seem pretty ridiculous.
[598] So I'm not exactly sure what I think about that shit.
[599] So what did I think about the Luke Stewart -Andre Galval fight?
[600] I thought that fight was really interesting.
[601] I was blown away by that Luke Stewart guy.
[602] That guy has incredible sweeps, man. He's relentless.
[603] I thought he won the fight.
[604] I thought he beat him with stand -up.
[605] and I thought his ground game, a negated Galvile's grand game, and he swept him a bunch of times, and I thought he edged him.
[606] I thought it was a real close fight, but I thought Stewart edged him.
[607] But, man, he blew me away.
[608] Luke Stewart is a bad motherfucker, and I'm really looking forward to his next fight.
[609] That was really, really impressive.
[610] UFC 115 in Cincinnati, they say that might be possible if the Vancouver thing falls through.
[611] I don't know if that's falling through or not.
[612] I haven't heard it directly from the horse's mouth.
[613] So when I hear it, I'll find out.
[614] Any more documentaries like the Union coming out?
[615] Yeah, I did a documentary on DMT.
[616] It's called DMT to Spirit Molecule, and it should be done in May and probably out for release sometime around the summer.
[617] I know they're taking it to film festivals, and they're bringing it all over the place.
[618] but it's a documentary mostly about different people's experiences on DMT and I'm the narrator.
[619] So that's the deal.
[620] Do I know who Bob Lazar is?
[621] Yeah, Bob Lazar is that guy who claims to have worked for Area 51.
[622] And, you know, he's kind of been discredited with a lot of things, especially like his education.
[623] I guess he kind of like told some lies about where he went to school and what his degrees are in.
[624] But very, very intelligent guy.
[625] And he obviously knew a lot about that area, about area.
[626] of 51, whether or not he really did have any contact with UFOs or with alien spacecraft or any of that stuff.
[627] I mean, it could be total 100 % or shit, or it could be true.
[628] I mean, it's really hard to tell.
[629] But when a guy who lies about his education, lies about, you know, certain aspects of his background, you've got to assume that he's probably lied about other things as well.
[630] You know, I don't know.
[631] Again, I don't really have an opinion either way.
[632] Interesting to watch him talk, though.
[633] He's very confident.
[634] You know, he's very confident, which could me either a he's crazy and that's why he's confident or b he's telling the truth um all right i got to get the fuck out of here because uh the car's picking me up in two minutes i just wanted to to bust out a nice quick one right here for you guys and say what's up so um thank you everybody for tuning in and uh we'll do one probably this weekend i'll have eddie come over to my house and we'll do like a full long ass one maybe friday and uh that's it my friends thank you very much Enjoy the fights tonight.
[635] They're live on Spike TV tonight.
[636] There's, I don't know what time it comes on, but it's right before the ultimate fighter.
[637] So it's a fight night.
[638] Kenny Florian versus Gomi is the headliner.
[639] It's going to be a sick, sick fight.
[640] And Ross Pearson's on the car, too, against Dennis Seaver.
[641] Looking forward to that, too.
[642] All right, my friends, thank you very much for tuning into this thing again.
[643] And I will be back next week with a real, solid podcast.
[644] And maybe we'll even do one this weekend with Eddie Bravo.
[645] at my house so thank you very much and I'll see you guys soon thanks
