The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz XX
[0] You're listening to Draft King's Network.
[1] Now's a good time to remember where the story of tequila started.
[2] In 1795, the first tequila distillery was opened by the Cuervo family.
[3] And 229 years later, Cuervo is still going strong.
[4] Family owned from the start, same family, same land.
[5] Now's a good time to enjoy Cuervo.
[6] The tequila that invented tequila.
[7] Go to Quervo .com to shop tequila or visit a store near you.
[8] Quervo, now's a good time.

[11] Proximo.
[12] Jersey City, New Jersey.
[13] Please drink responsibly.
[14] This is the Dan Levator show with the Stugats podcast.
[15] Holy Stugats.
[16] I can't believe it.
[17] This is actually happening.
[18] Greg Cody, if those who don't know, we sent Greg Cody to the Golden Oldies tryouts for the Miami Heat elderly people dance team.
[19] Yeah, which happens to be at the place where I had Russia shine a dinner.
[20] Yeah, we got Jeremy Tashet live on location.
[21] with Greg Cody.
[22] Jeremy, what is this venue?
[23] This is unbelievable, guys.
[24] This is the Southwest Focal Point Senior Center in Pembroke Pied.
[25] It is full.
[26] The parking was unbelievable.
[27] We all had to park on the grass because there were so many people here auditioning today for the Golden Oldies.
[28] I was told that between 100 and 150 people over the age of 60 years old will be auditioning for the Golden Oldies today.
[29] Greg here being one of them He's about to have a private dance lesson With the coach to be able to be sure that he's ready and prepared Greg how are you feeling about everything that's going on today I'm as excited as I can possibly be I really am it's just a thrill I feel young I thought you I'm like I'm not that old do you want to make this team No it's good I think he does I think that what's happened here is he had no interest And then the moment he showed up and felt as young as he looks in this group with the athleticism that he was showing off.
[30] We were in a back room before, and he was doing high leg kicks.
[31] He was doing dances like this right here.
[32] I mean, I think Greg is ready and excited.
[33] He's a performer at the end of the day.
[34] At the end of the day, not at the beginning, but just at the end of the day.
[35] Right.
[36] Well, luckily there, it is the end of the day.
[37] I mean, dinner will be served in the next 30 minutes.
[38] It's true.
[39] We'll have the early bird special.
[40] We'll be coming in soon, guys.
[41] I don't love this.
[42] But this is going to be great.
[43] I mean, if you guys want to follow with us, I mean, we could show you what this place is looking like.
[44] Well, hold on a second.
[45] Do you want to see what this room looks like?
[46] Hold on a second, because Billy has an objection, and I think I agree with it.
[47] Yeah, like, I don't love the fact that Greg just kind of strolls in.
[48] He gets a private lesson with the coach who, you know, I assume he's going to be making some decisions on cuts and whatnot.
[49] He has a camera crew.
[50] Like, Greg's a big city slicker that's coming into this small town and he's going to take someone's spot, which I'm not a fan of.
[51] You know, you would think that it was because of the Dan Levitart show and all the cameras that Greg was famous.
[52] But actually, I've heard three or four different people.
[53] in here say, hey, is that Greg Cody of the He -Ha -Haw 3?
[54] I couldn't believe it.
[55] They really remember him from the old days.
[56] It's amazing.
[57] I'm in favor of special treatment.
[58] I really am.
[59] I think I deserve it.
[60] And, you know, I'm the kind of guy who cuts in line when possible.
[61] You know, that kind of thing.
[62] The face of entitlement, ladies and gentlemen, Greg Cody.
[63] All right, Jeremy, go ahead and walk us into this venue.
[64] Let's see what we've got going on.
[65] Let's do this.
[66] All right, so we've got folks in here.
[67] We've got members of the Heat Dance team welcoming everyone in.
[68] Hello, hello.
[69] And now this is what we've got going on in the auditions for the Golden Oldies.
[70] Look at all of these folks who are ready here for the Golden Oldies.
[71] It's really spectacular.
[72] I can't believe the ability that this group has, this organization, to bring in so many talented dancers.
[73] If you focus on it, Danny, if you want to focus in right over here, a lot of the folks at the front, they're the people who made the team last year.
[74] But you know what's not going to happen?
[75] Any sort of gifts to those folks, they have to audition.
[76] addition again.
[77] So no matter whether they were on the team last year, they're on the team this year.
[78] Everybody has to audition again.
[79] Everybody needs to get prepared.
[80] There's going to be, I believe, 15 to 20 second long freestyle dances.
[81] There's going to be coordinated dances throughout the day.
[82] We're going to make sure that Greg is ready.
[83] I believe right now, he's signing his waiver as we speak.
[84] Wow.
[85] Ladies is a gentleman, a moment in history.
[86] So Greg Cody is getting ready to go.
[87] What's the date?
[88] What is the date?
[89] That always happens to me. The 27.
[90] 27th.
[91] Greg, Jeremy, are these jailhouse rules like this?
[92] Greg, have to go in and punch someone right away to kind of establish his dominance in this situation?
[93] I don't think so, although he looks ready to be the prize fighter in this situation.
[94] I dare you.
[95] I think punch one of the alums.
[96] You're going to have the sound effect.
[97] Jeremy, I need you to confirm something.
[98] I want to describe to the audio audience.
[99] As you guys are walking through and the cameraman Danny Benitez is panning across to the other contestants, we're getting a lot of very serious ice glutes.
[100] wills, a lot of aggressive looks from the people, like, is there an era of intimidation happening where these people are cutthroat?
[101] And they look at Greg like his competition.
[102] Oh, I fully believe so.
[103] These people are here ready to earn their spot on a team, no different than any other competitive team that you might find in a sport or otherwise.
[104] It's time to go find a number for Greg, because these people are signing up and getting ready for what should be a really competitive day.
[105] So Greg, you go ahead and follow me. we're going to get a number for you because look these folks hello nice to see you everybody's ready look we've got folks here in heat jerseys we've got everybody ready in black white or red it's really I mean guys this is competitive are there any other deck shoes any other boat shoes happen any boat shoes you know as I'm scanning around I see a lot more supportive sketchers than I see deck shoes but if Greg had worn his other shoes that he was telling us about the last couple of weeks maybe he would have been more prepared.
[106] Hi, how are you?
[107] Nice to see you.
[108] This is my place, guys.
[109] I love to see you.
[110] Jeremy.
[111] That's someone you know.
[112] Of course.
[113] Yeah, I know.
[114] This is Homer Central for Jeremy Tashay.
[115] So, we're going to step away.
[116] We're going to let Greg get his number, and we're going to check back in with you when you guys are training with the private cook.
[117] I want to see him get the number.
[118] Do you?
[119] Yeah.
[120] What number?
[121] Oh, 251.
[122] 251.
[123] He's going to be there all day.
[124] 21 for Greg.
[125] My favorite number.
[126] It's not a bakery.
[127] What are you talking about?
[128] He's going to be spectacular.
[129] All right.
[130] He's very old, ma 'am.
[131] He needs help.
[132] Let's check back in with them a little bit later.
[133] I don't want to waste whatever the hell these are called.
[134] That's a great.
[135] That's Greg talking to the only young person there.
[136] Did you hear what he said?
[137] At the beginning, he said he's never felt younger because there's so many people that are older than him.
[138] And I said, did we find the one place where Greg Cody is the young, energetic.
[139] whippersnapper?
[140] I think so that in Key West.
[141] He runs that joint I mean.
[142] So here's my question.
[143] You dropped a safety pin if you're listening on the podcast.
[144] Now Billy I Is there a car on the stage?
[145] Are you okay?
[146] Billy, I'm going to betray something that I heard you and Taylor discussing out in the main room here, which is a segment that may or may not come to life in the weeks that come.
[147] a segment called All Bias Aside.
[148] And I was wondering, how would Jeremy do in a segment called All Bias Aside?
[149] Because there was a point there where he went into full propaganda mode about the Miami Heat.
[150] We're talking about a dance team here.
[151] Yeah.
[152] I mean, not even for a second.
[153] Can he put it aside?
[154] It was kind of weird.
[155] So the way that this happened is we're, you know, we're spitballing different things, talking, you know, talking some shop out there, talking some baseball, and the Yankees can.
[156] came up because every time you talk to Taylor, the Yankees are going to come up.
[157] And we were discussing now that, you know, the leagues are both kind of playing each other all year long, everybody's adopted the DH, should there be multiple MVP?
[158] Should there be an AL MVP and an NLMVP?
[159] Should there be an NL.
[160] Sy Young and an A .L. Cy Young, which, you know, led to a conversation.
[161] And then, oh, Craig is now taking a photo with his name.
[162] Oh, look at that.
[163] On a whiteboard, yeah.
[164] Never been happy.
[165] We didn't need to turn the volume up.
[166] Anyway, so we were talking about it, and he said, all bias aside, one MVP, you voting for judge or are you voting for Otani?
[167] It's judge, all bias aside.
[168] He said to me while wearing a Yankees had in a Yankee shirt.
[169] Did he pause?
[170] He asked me the question and then he immediately gave the answer without even giving me a second to think about who the MVP should be.
[171] But he did put his biases aside.
[172] He said, he said, who should be the MVP?
[173] Otani or judge?
[174] It's judge.
[175] All bias aside.
[176] Stugatz.
[177] That's how you do it?
[178] Yeah, I'm about saying, Stugat's, this feels like something that would be.
[179] be in your wheelhouse, the idea of asking a rhetorical question and answering it before the other person has a chance to even begin to kind of consider it and delivering that answer with the caveat that all biases are aside.
[180] Yeah, you're asking a question that only has one answer.
[181] I mean, I've done that a million times.
[182] Give me an example.
[183] Who's better, who's the best basketball player ever?
[184] Cut out your biases.
[185] Okay, but aren't you supposed to answer it?
[186] Michael Jordan.
[187] Okay.
[188] All Bias aside?
[189] All biases aside.
[190] Greg is stretching now.
[191] Greg is stretching with the dancing coach.
[192] See, this is a bit unfair.
[193] I think that's what Billy was alluding to where I don't think the other people trying out for this team, they're getting afforded the same opportunity.
[194] He's the only one I see with a private lesson, right?
[195] Well, this is He's not following the lesson.
[196] He's teaching her the dancing.
[197] Yeah.
[198] So this is why it's not unfair because all these other people prep all year long for this.
[199] Greg just found out about it today.
[200] And he's going to make the team.
[201] I'm already worried about his wind.
[202] I'm worried he's just going to like...
[203] You know what we should have done?
[204] We should have sent him out there with a six -pack of Miller Lights.
[205] Don't be stealing my material.
[206] He's announcing that to the entire room.
[207] People might have been worried about him and they're not anymore.
[208] That was a sympathy clap.
[209] It looks like we sent a larger crew with Greg than we have working here.
[210] No, but they're worried, Chris, because Greg has cameras with him.
[211] He's got some celebrity people are worried they're just going to give them a spot on the team i'm telling you right now we got jeremy here back he's going to give us another update jeremy what's going on i could not believe the amount of celebrity gregg just danced and literally received an ovation from the crowd behind him and i've already had three different people ask me is that great cody i've seen his picture at the bottom of the miami harold these people are the target audience the target demographic how tired are you dad this is really spectacular how tired are you uh you know what I feel like I've had my exercise already.
[212] I'm winded.
[213] I'm ready to go home.
[214] You know, do a couple of 12 -ounce curls.
[215] But look, I'm here, man. I'm here to win it.
[216] I'm in it to win it.
[217] I do think these people probably think he's here as a bit of a gag, and they don't realize he's genuinely competing for one of their spots.
[218] Because I've had two different golden oldies from last year walk up and say, like, oh, I'm so nervous.
[219] This is a big day for us.
[220] We're re -auditioning because they have to audition again.
[221] And I was like, yeah, we've got great Cody with us.
[222] That should be fun.
[223] And I don't think that they realize that he's actually here trying to take one of their spots.
[224] So once that starts, I think they're going to be upset.
[225] Jeremy, I'll be honest with you.
[226] When you guys walked in, like I said, there were a lot of stone -faced looks from all the other competitors.
[227] But then right after Greg did his dance, Danny panned back and they were all laughing and smiling.
[228] I feel like that was a sympathy applause more than anything.
[229] I don't know if a sympathy applause as much as, you know, this might be Greg's crowd, guys.
[230] I think these are the type of people that are liking what they're.
[231] see if you know what I mean.
[232] Baby!
[233] How many people make this team, Jeremy?
[234] I actually don't know the answer to that.
[235] I'll find that out before the next time I report back.
[236] My assumption is somewhere between 20 and 25.
[237] And then find out how many returners are auditioning because then we'll know exactly how many spots are really up for grabs.
[238] Oh, wait, you got them as rubber -stamped?
[239] I will figure that out.
[240] The politics, the politics involved.
[241] Greg, I got one last question before you, before you take a little bit of a break.
[242] If you had a couple of Miller lights right now If you had a couple of mill lights right now I can barely hear you guys If you had a couple of Miller lights in you right now How much more comfortable would you be In getting prepared for this?
[243] Well that's a fine line though A couple and I'm good I'm loose I'm more gregarious but four or five And I'm like some sweet spot between two and four You gotta watch that line Send someone to go get them Some number lights in the next 20 minutes All right.
[244] We'll do that.
[245] After I ask your questions, I'll go get some Miller Light for him.
[246] Thank you.
[247] We'll check back with you guys in a little bit.
[248] This is a historic moment.
[249] He's so making this team.
[250] And we got it all on tape.
[251] That's the crazy thing.
[252] Like, this will live forever.
[253] We'll be able to say, remember that time Greg went out there and showed the hell out?
[254] The vibes in that room seem incredible.
[255] Does it not just sound like the most excited chatter background noise?
[256] It sounds great.
[257] It sounds like donut Sundays after church.
[258] Like, everyone's in a great mood.
[259] I wouldn't know how to relate to that.
[260] Back in the 90s when I went to church.
[261] There you go.
[262] Now you just light on fire if you walk past it, right?
[263] In the NFL, there is no margin for error.

[273] I've been gone two days.
[274] I haven't been gone long enough to miss my wife.
[275] I'm sorry.
[276] I call her.
[277] I'm on the phone with her for 30 seconds.
[278] You know, what am I?
[279] Hello, all right.
[280] All right.
[281] We'll see you.
[282] All right.
[283] And then, you know, I'm going to see her in two days.
[284] I was jumping, Charlie.
[285] Good.
[286] This is the Dan Levitar show with the Stugats.
[287] I actually, I have a topic that I've been meaning to bring up on the show because I think there's someone here that has the answer to all my questions about the oasis.
[288] Reunion happening?
[289] What is going on with this, Mike?
[290] Oh, thank God.
[291] Thank you for the vine.
[292] I've been dying to talk about this since it started getting rumored in so long that they've actually broken back up.
[293] So wait, oh wait, can we start at the top?
[294] Yes.
[295] What is a Wonderwall?
[296] Who is Oasis?
[297] Oasis is Wonderwall.
[298] Yeah, Oasis has one of the biggest songs ever in Wonderwall.
[299] They're really, and this is the reuniting of it, they're not bringing back any original members outside of the two brothers.
[300] Which is fine because Oasis is the two brothers.
[301] Who are the two brothers?
[302] Noel and Liam Gallagher.
[303] Who, by the way, Jess, they hate each other.
[304] They have been feuding forever.
[305] They hated each other.
[306] They've always hated each other.
[307] Past tense?
[308] They might.
[309] There's a chance they still hate each other.
[310] They're doing it for money.
[311] I mean.
[312] Yeah, like Guns and Roses really left a lot of money on the table because during their recording prime, they decided to totally break up.
[313] And now they're totally fine and they're getting all that money.
[314] was that they miss out on during their peak.
[315] Not all of it.
[316] No, but Oasis broke up in 2009, and for many points since then, there were rumored reunions that always blew up, and Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher would always revel in the opportunity to dismiss any hopes whatsoever.
[317] Liam, very publicly continuing their feud, never really having good things to say about one another, but the day has come where they've been able to put all that aside for now and reunite to much, much fanfare, especially across the pond.
[318] All differences aside, which is a different segment from all biases aside.
[319] Stugats, if I say to you, there is no hatred that it's stronger than a hatred between two siblings, can you find a hatred that's greater than that?
[320] Because I feel like it was Axel Rose versus the other guys in Guns of Roses, right?
[321] that feud right there.
[322] That could not come close to the fury that is two brothers who hate each other.
[323] Right.
[324] Does anyone know what the feud is over?
[325] They're assholes.
[326] Both of them are assholes.
[327] They genuinely don't like each other's company.
[328] And they don't, musically, they don't, they're not super compatible.
[329] They have different ideas of what direction the band should have gone in.
[330] At different times, they accuse the other person of being unprofessional when it comes to approach.
[331] So it's just always something.
[332] There isn't, There isn't a patient zero when it comes to what the, the seeds of this rivalry has always been.
[333] They just, they're like oil and water.
[334] And that's, that's why I say there's no hatred that's greater than that.
[335] Even between X's, because X's can be like, he cheated on me or she's like, did this or whatever.
[336] When you talk about siblings, it's like, there's not even like a seminal moment or an act.
[337] It's just like, I just don't like you.
[338] It's like me with my dad.
[339] Like, he could actually be on his best behavior and I'm just annoyed by him.
[340] Same.
[341] By the way, I think I was so nervous about that video thing going on well with Jeremy and Greg that I held my breath for the entire segment, and my hiccups would have won.
[342] Yeah, I told you.
[343] I was nervous that wasn't going to work out.
[344] But, Mike, so their band started when they were how old, and they were able to get along well enough to make a hit.
[345] Yes.
[346] And then they broke up.
[347] So, no, they didn't just make a hit.
[348] Like, they had plenty of hits.
[349] They're not a one -hit wonder.
[350] No, no, they're not.
[351] They're not a one -hit wonder.
[352] Well, no. They have one of the 100 greatest albums ever made.
[353] Definitely maybe was a monster smash.
[354] They have a lot of songs.
[355] Now, granted, they are bigger in the UK.
[356] So in our lifetime, Greg is taking group pictures right now.
[357] He really is the bell of the ball.
[358] I think Oasis meant out of anyone here, Sugatz's prime, like college years and like young adulthood, Oasis.
[359] Let my boy cook.
[360] We're watching Greg Cody dance.
[361] with some of the other contestants right now.
[362] And he's, look, I thought he was going to tank it.
[363] He's coming with some great energy right now.
[364] He loves this attention.
[365] He's in his glory.
[366] Yeah.
[367] He's going to forget the assignment and he's accidentally going to make the team.
[368] Morning glory.
[369] Old glory.
[370] Yeah.
[371] It's very difficult to talk about Oasis reuniting, which is a segment that I've wanted to do for 20 years, hopeful that the day would come and then have Greg Cody just do incredible psychaggs the entire time.
[372] Mike, put a pin in it.
[373] We're going to come back.
[374] But right now we've got to go to Jeremy Taché, has an update.
[375] I have an unbelievable update that I just found out from coach Natalia of the golden oldies.
[376] Last year there were 21 golden oldies.
[377] Last year there were 21 of them.
[378] All 21 are back here auditioning this year and they're only taking between 18 and 20 dancers this year.
[379] So automatically there will be a few cut.
[380] But if they want any new blood, which every year they try to cycle in some new dancers, there will be several dancers.
[381] cut this audition process.
[382] I mean, there were literally over 100 people here in this room right now.
[383] This is cut throat.
[384] And Greg, as you guys mentioned, is the bell of the ball.
[385] But I think as soon as they realize, he might take one of their spots.
[386] It might get a little intense.
[387] Yeah, I'm getting some icy stairs.
[388] There's no question about that, especially from the men, you know, because fewer men than women tend to make the golden oldies.
[389] So, like, I'm here to take somebody's job is what they're thinking.
[390] Yeah, exactly.
[391] This is one of the most celebrated things that a lot of these people have going on.
[392] because how many times do you get to perform in front of tens of thousands of people, you know, and show off your dance moves.
[393] So this is, guys, this is getting pretty intense.
[394] I'm like, my heart is racing.
[395] I'm really nervous about this now.
[396] Greg, you would agree the entire team returning, last year's entire team returning is a major upset, right?
[397] Oh, yeah.
[398] Yeah, you got to have new blood.
[399] Because they're old.
[400] Well, no, because they made it back, all of them.
[401] It is.
[402] Jeremy.
[403] These are healthy, lively, wonderful people.
[404] Well, okay, stop with this.
[405] There is natural attrition.
[406] There should be no shaming.
[407] Can you ask Coach Natalia, I believe you said it was, right?
[408] Can you ask Coach Natalia, as you guys said, this is kind of a lot of their purposes to be the Golden Oldies.
[409] Is there any concern that should you cut the Golden Oldies remove their purpose in life?
[410] And that could lead to, you know, more spots opening up.
[411] Well, why not?
[412] It's something that needs to be weighed, I believe, when making a decision.
[413] It's ageist.
[414] No. Those people are lively, wonderful.
[415] They're beautiful.
[416] They haven't been cut yet.
[417] Oh, we're getting some testing going on this.
[418] Okay, we'll take back in.
[419] We'll check back with you guys.
[420] When the Golden Olies are performing, there's a hearse outside of your group.
[421] Okay, that's why I try to send you guys away.
[422] That's why I try to send them away.
[423] That's exactly why, because I knew I could see the looking Greg's eyes.
[424] He wasn't going to say something.
[425] He's so proud of it.
[426] Look at him.
[427] I knew.
[428] I knew.
[429] Everyone's like, I mean, just let him say his thing.
[430] I'm like, no, no. I know where it's.
[431] going.
[432] I had a feeling deep in my bones.
[433] So why did they choose now to get back together?
[434] Mike.
[435] Are we back?
[436] Yes.
[437] Gallagher's.
[438] I checked out.
[439] After the death joke, I thought he was really rolling.
[440] So the reason why they're getting back, I would assume, is money.
[441] I would assume that there's a lot of money in this.
[442] Of course it's money.
[443] Where I was getting at, like you were, you're probably the best person to ask how big oasis was over here in the United States.
[444] I know they're massive across upon but like when you were getting out of college they were big entering young adulthood and cruz in the grove like oasis was the biggest thing going oasis was music i played in my acura integra da da cohen up i was growing up so gaza's killing it down here oasis is funny to me because i do think that they're good band do i think that they're a little overrated possibly but oasis wasn't really are they the best musicians no are they the best vocalists no do they have some great songs yes is every song great no but OASIS meant a lot to a lot of people and that it wasn't just the music, it was the aesthetic, it was the attitude, it was what they represented.
[445] We don't really have a lot of ties over here in the United States to Britpop, although a few of those bands blew up over here and for a moment in time, Oasis was in like the conversation is one of the biggest rock bands in America, but not unlike West Coast hip -hop and then the East Coast West Coast West Coast thing, not unlike boy bands, not unlike grunge or hair mellows, slightly before that.
[446] Brit Pop had an era inside these United States.
[447] Blur, and to a much larger extent here in the United States, Oasis, was the key band in that moment.
[448] A couple of things.
[449] Number one, Blur, Oasis is a big rival.
[450] The only thing that could unite the Gallagher's was Blur.
[451] They hated those bastards over there.
[452] Yeah, it almost got to be like, you have to pick a side.
[453] And Netflix actually has a pretty good documentary on like a on that rivalry.
[454] On that rival, on Brit Pot, the Brit Pop explosion.
[455] Number two, Stu God's me up on this.
[456] It's going to sound blasphemous, it's going to sound crazy.
[457] But when Oasis was blowing up with that album, definitely maybe, there was a moment where like, this is the New Age Beatles.
[458] Like, this is it.
[459] This group it reached a high level.
[460] I don't know if it reached that level.
[461] They didn't reach it.
[462] I'm not saying they reached the beat.
[463] It's like, it's like imagine a player coming out and people saying, oh, this is the next Michael Jordan.
[464] And then that player never reaches that hype because whatever happens.
[465] It was the same kind of vibe.
[466] It was like, these guys are about to take over popular music, not just Britpop, but the entire popular music.
[467] They were red hot, red hot, and then because they both had personality, they were spicy.
[468] You remember the Glass and Berry Festival in the UK, which is a really big deal.
[469] Jay -Z was going to headline it one year, and was it normally - You remember when Jay -Z played Wonderwall?
[470] But that's the thing, because they said, this guy's not a musician, how could he ever play this festival?
[471] And so Jay -Z came out with a guitar and played Wonderwall and sang it.
[472] And it was awesome, awesome.
[473] But they were, they had, it was, the world was their oyster.
[474] Yeah.
[475] And then the infighting just took them all that.
[476] Yeah, and maybe their sound, Britpop kind of died out here.
[477] And it wasn't just because Oasis kind of flamed out.
[478] They kept going and they didn't really reach the peaks here in the United States.
[479] Like we had a lot of regrettable genres that kind of push it out of the way.
[480] Like Fred Durst?
[481] Like New Metal.
[482] We had our moments over here.
[483] But they were still gigantic.
[484] Antic, especially in Great Britain.
[485] And you'll see in this tour, they've just announced the European legs so far of the tour, but these are stadium shows, and they'll be able to sell them out without question.
[486] It's going to be a huge demand.
[487] I do know the legend is that the Coachella founders, they make three asks every year when they're putting together their lineup on the off chance that bands reunite.
[488] And they ask for this?
[489] Number one is the Smiths.
[490] Number two is Oasis.
[491] And now more recently, Def Punk, they always put a feeler out to Daft Punk.
[492] see if Daft Punk is going to reunite.
[493] But, yeah, you would assume that if Oasis is back and doing their thing, Coachella's going to kick the tires, see if they want to do it.
[494] Who had more success as an individual act?
[495] Which one of the two brothers?
[496] I think they were both great.
[497] There's an argument to be made that these guys are kind of better apart.
[498] Liam's actually had some really good albums recently.
[499] I'm a fan of Knowles stuff.
[500] Like, their individual efforts have been so good individually that you're like, okay, well, if we're never going to see Oasis again, we're fine, this will suffice.
[501] But I've never had the opportunity.
[502] By the time I got really into going to live music shows, Oasis was, you know, that wasn't a scenario that could actually be real, them getting back together.
[503] Mike, really quick, what is a Wonderwall?
[504] They kind of explain it throughout the entire song.
[505] Do they?
[506] Yeah.
[507] Oh, we had the appetizer last week, but now it's time to feast.

[527] Don Lebatard.
[528] What do we got here?
[529] I got a magnum condom.
[530] We won't get that out.
[531] That's shocking.
[532] Stugats.
[533] Here's a picture of Christopher when he was like three years old.
[534] Right next to the condom?
[535] That's a subtle reminder.
[536] Yeah.
[537] Never forget.
[538] This is the Don Lebatar show with the Stugats.
[539] All right.
[540] We're going right back to the golden...
[541] Golden Oldies.
[542] This is so exciting.
[543] What happened?
[544] Yeah.
[545] I was going to say Golden Grannies.
[546] That's the Phoenix Suns.
[547] Golden Oldies is the Miami Heat.
[548] The tryouts has begun.
[549] Jeremy, take it away.
[550] I mean, this is unbelievable.
[551] We've got an intense warm -up happening right now.
[552] There was just a whole speech before everything got started about, hey, don't focus too much on the numbers of how many people we're going to take.
[553] You folks have an opportunity to prove it to us that you belong on this team.
[554] And I'm just going to let you watch for a minute.
[555] because Greg is getting warmed up number 251 right here.
[556] And I mean, look at them with all of these folks who are getting ready.
[557] It's a pretty intense moment as everybody gets warmed up.
[558] It's really mean that they made him where his actual age.
[559] I know.
[560] 239.
[561] 239.
[562] I got to tell you, 202 was making that team.
[563] 239.
[564] We saw her warming up earlier, right?
[565] The guy with the red tank top 239.
[566] Look at this guy.
[567] No, 239 has been on the team before.
[568] No, for first -seasoned on the team last year.
[569] So he's been preparing for this for years.
[570] He's a seasoned vet when it comes to the Golden Oldies.
[571] And there's a lot of folks here that have been here before.
[572] Greg's shoulder mobility is stressing me out.
[573] I won't Greg to let him know there's some new blood in town.
[574] The new sheriff.
[575] Is this the warm -up or this is the routine?
[576] I mean, it wasn't obvious by the camera crew that we've sent out.
[577] No, this is just a warm -up.
[578] They're just getting everybody nice and limber before getting ready to go because we don't want anybody pulling a hamstring or messing up a shoulder.
[579] Griggs, yeah, Griggs shoulders are really kind of stressing me out a little bit.
[580] They all signed the waiver.
[581] They're fine.
[582] Griggs?
[583] They did.
[584] Got a crazy bill now that I look at him.
[585] I've never really noticed this.
[586] Us Cody's, you know, and we're kind of awkward.
[587] I got to tell you, 207 go home.
[588] I mean, not making the team.
[589] Go let them know, Jeremy.
[590] 207 has been eliminated.
[591] You want me to just go get him a little tap on the shoulder?
[592] Yeah, go give him a tap on the shoulder.
[593] Start eliminating people officially.
[594] Just me. Just me. Yeah, head over there, Jeremy.
[595] Come on.
[596] Tap on the shoulder.
[597] They should do.
[598] The America's next top model thing.
[599] I think I'm okay.
[600] Like they disappear one of them every time someone gets eliminated.
[601] Dissolves.
[602] I'm just worried about Greg, if I'm being honest with you guys.
[603] Everybody else looks like they've been stretching over the off season.
[604] And Greg looks like that's not a stretch, Gary.
[605] Greg just pointed.
[606] The woman behind 2 .15 looks like a ringer.
[607] I don't think she's 60.
[608] I agree.
[609] That's the thing that's amazing here is there are some folks who I'm like, really, you're 60.
[610] Because the type of shape that they're in, It's really amazing.
[611] Yeah, it went quiet at the wrong time for Jeremy.
[612] It was real awkward, dude.
[613] I love that people are questioning other people's age there.
[614] It's like an AAU tournament.
[615] And I do not see Greg touching toes.
[616] Sugat's like an AAU tournament.
[617] We're going to start demanding birth certificates.
[618] Wait a second.
[619] There's no way.
[620] This kid is this.
[621] I'm not kidding you guys.
[622] This is the first time my dad has stretched in years.
[623] And that is not an exaggeration.
[624] He's going to be so sore.
[625] He's out of breath already.
[626] Look at the rest of this group, Danny.
[627] Can you pan to the rest of the group for a minute?
[628] Everyone is touching their toes.
[629] Everybody looks comfortable.
[630] And then there's Greg.
[631] And if you go back to Greg, he can barely touch his knee.
[632] His leg is shaking.
[633] And he's just waiting to come back up from every single stretch.
[634] Can we pan over the shoes that everyone is wearing in comparison to Greg's deck shoes?
[635] Because I sense another trend, which is that he's sticking out a little bit off that.
[636] I'm really worried about Greg's confidence after this.
[637] Can we talk to him?
[638] in feeling really, really good.
[639] I mean, if you guys have any questions, I can get in there and ask him a question.
[640] He looks pretty locked in to me. I have a question.
[641] I want to know the last time he stretched.
[642] All right, let me just go ahead and scoot out.
[643] What's with the onlookers back there?
[644] They just aren't participating.
[645] When is the last time that you stretched like this?
[646] Never.
[647] Great.
[648] The 12th of never, he says.
[649] How is he doing?
[650] Check in on him.
[651] I mean, okay, I'll check in again.
[652] Guys, why?
[653] He's trying to lock in.
[654] How are we doing, Greg?
[655] How are we feeling?
[656] Sore?
[657] Already?
[658] This is not what I do.
[659] Is he stuck?
[660] This is not what I do.
[661] He does look stuck.
[662] He's not wearing socks now.
[663] Of course not.
[664] I love how he's just stretching, and I'm genuinely worried about my dad right now.
[665] All the joy that he had on his face earlier.
[666] It's hilarious that this is before.
[667] Now it's real.
[668] It's drained out of it.
[669] The joy is gone.
[670] It's already regretting this.
[671] Like, this hurts.
[672] I think we got it I'm worried about him He's going to be sore for days It started as a cute little activation Right Make fun of the old people And then you realize You're the oldest one Yeah I want to make it abundantly clear guys That's why I was making sure That we weren't making fun of these folks Because they are spry Athletic and everything Unlike Greg Cody Those people stretch better than I do This lady is putting my dad to shame right now She's a lot It's a real fopper Unbelievable comparison.
[673] I swear that's Marlins' man back there.
[674] It's a dance team.
[675] It's not a stretch team, Greg.
[676] Don't worry about it.
[677] Yeah, exactly right.
[678] You got this, Greg.
[679] I believe in you.
[680] I don't know, 239 have me a little worried.
[681] You're speaking of, Chris.
[682] Get the tie of a shoe.
[683] Yeah, I don't know what's going on there.
[684] Visually just so that everybody in the audio audience can understand what's happening.
[685] Look at 202 dancing.
[686] Leaning each way.
[687] Yeah, there are some folks that have rhythm.
[688] as they're stretching, which is pretty spectacular.
[689] They're dancers.
[690] Two -39 is so awesome.
[691] Oh, they're stretchers right now.
[692] He's not doing that right.
[693] Do we know if he auditions, do we know if he auditions alone or with a group?
[694] Oh, I don't know the answer.
[695] I believe that there's a solo freestyle.
[696] What is my dad doing?
[697] It's not the right position.
[698] Yeah, what is happening right now?
[699] Stretching it.
[700] What is he doing?
[701] Just a reminder.
[702] I'm genuinely concerned.
[703] What is he think he's supposed to do?
[704] You might show himself out.
[705] You can see this person right here in the heat show?
[706] That is not a six -year -old.
[707] For the listening audience, I just want to remind them, you can watch all of this on YouTube and or the Graft King's Network, because, man, I know you guys like to listen, and I'm telling you ain't got to watch the whole thing, but you want to watch this for sure because Greg looks depleted right now.
[708] It's just so funny.
[709] If Danny, if we could put just Greg on screen with the two ladies right here in front of him, just to show the comparison of how limber and talented they are as compared to Greg.
[710] It is one of the funniest visuals I've ever witnessed in my life.
[711] 220 is a rigor.
[712] He can't even lift his ankle off the ground.
[713] Yeah, 220 is a ringer.
[714] I believe both of these ladies right here in front were on the team last year.
[715] Oh, we've got some rhythm rock in here, guys.
[716] All right, we'll take back in with you, Jeremy.
[717] You can keep them on screen, but we're going to do some shit.
[718] show here.
[719] I was enjoying that song.
[720] Oh, a little Lionel Ritchie.
[721] All right, he's finding a little rhythm now.
[722] I love this.
[723] I think there's like, there's probably less than five guys, though, right?
[724] There's 239, there's 235.
[725] Marlins man. Marlins man, yeah.
[726] The show, it's not here.
[727] The show within the show that's happening in my ear from Lewis is so damn distracting.
[728] Want to share it with us?
[729] I cannot share it.
[730] This is highly inappropriate conversation.
[731] I'm glad you mentioned it.
[732] This is my way of telling them to stop, basically.
[733] Let me do the show.
[734] Jeremy, we'll take back with you.
[735] The images will remain on our screens while we do some more show here.
[736] Stugats, during the break, I saw you come back in from the outside.
[737] Yes.
[738] Presumably from your heater break.
[739] I was in the garage, yep.
[740] I mean, technically not outside.
[741] I was inside where it's hotter.
[742] You thought you weren't allowed to do that anymore.
[743] Yeah.
[744] Well, I mean...
[745] You came in from outside.
[746] I was hiding, yeah.
[747] So anyways, I confess to Stugats that whenever I see him coming back from outside, there's a bit of me that feels a little formal.
[748] I wish I was a smoker because he reminds me of a different time.
[749] Of like the late 90s when the smoking bands first started happening, you'd be walking in New York City Listening to Wonderwall It's listening to the Wonderwall It's freezing outside And as you walk into a building You see a group of huddled people shivering with the cigarette to their mouth Because this was before they had the rule That you had to smoke like 300 feet away from the entrance People were right outside that front door like this And I always thought to myself What a strong sense of community And commitment And commitment And I just want I wanted to be a part of that Even if I don't enjoy smoking in and of itself You know what?
[750] I've heard people of an older generation than me say that bumming a cigarette from someone or going outside to, you know, smoke with someone was a great icebreaker and a great way to, like, kind of meet someone and chat with them without having any pressure.
[751] And it's harder to sort of like make those connections with strangers now.
[752] Right, because you have something in common.
[753] And what you have in common is that you're killing yourselves.
[754] Yeah, right.
[755] Yes.
[756] I mean, and I'm not saying that the pros don't outweigh the cons in this scenario.
[757] But maybe there is some truth to it.
[758] You know, it's like an easy way to bridge the conversation gap with people that you don't know.
[759] Jessica, I'll tell you, one of my great kind of disappointments in life is when someone asks me, hey, can I bum a cigarette or do you have a light?
[760] And I have to say no because I don't smoke, but I can never just say no. I actually like pat my pockets as if I might have had just a spare lighter by some...
[761] This happened to me two days ago at the barbecue contest.
[762] Someone says, does anyone have a light?
[763] And I was like, ah.
[764] Did you pat your pockets?
[765] I was like, oh, let me check my purse.
[766] Wait, so both of you go through the routine knowing you don't have a lighter?
[767] Not only do I go through the routines, too, gotts.
[768] I feel bad that I don't have a lighter.
[769] I apologize.
[770] I'm like, I'm sorry, I don't.
[771] I let you down.
[772] I really feel like I let them down.
[773] It's one of the great disappointments in life.
[774] Really?
[775] I'm telling you.
[776] I'll put it up there.
[777] Do you have others?
[778] A top five?
[779] You want to have top five disappointments in life?
[780] You have that?
[781] I do have that.
[782] Weirdly, Roy did have a grill lighter in his bag that was several feet long.
[783] You should always have one, yeah.
[784] He just happens to carry it up.
[785] Always ready to grill.
[786] Is Greg cracking a sweat, by the way?
[787] I think they all just applauded after they stretch.
[788] We're like, all right, we're done stretching.
[789] I have not forgotten about your top five.
[790] I am glued to Greg Cody right now, though.
[791] He's out of breath.
[792] Oh, man, this is great.
[793] So you're saying not having a lighter when someone asks you for a lighter is one of the biggest disappointments in life?
[794] And life, absolutely.
[795] Like, no, obviously, we're not talking about, like, I didn't get the big promotion or whatever.
[796] Not like real -life events.
[797] I'm talking about day -to -day kind of mundane things that makes me feel great disappointment.
[798] I could not step up to the plate and hand you the lighter, good smoker, sir.
[799] All right.
[800] So make sure, people, if you want to find out, whether Greg made the team or not, we're going to be posting stuff on social the rest of the day, because we've got to go now.
[801] The show's over, and he's still out there as we're looking now.
[802] So we will post things.
[803] Make sure to listen to Best Back in my day coming up next on the post game show.
[804] Greg's doing the secret check his pulse move right now.
[805] Yes, he is.
[806] His neck.
[807] He's checking his pulse, but he's making it seem like he's just holding his neck.
[808] All right, so got I got 45 seconds here.
[809] Let's do it.
[810] Top five.
[811] All right, here we go.
[812] Top five disappointments in life.
[813] Number five, people who discover I work for draft kings and want gambling advice.
[814] I don't have it.
[815] I don't know.
