“What Putin wants, and what I think he’s absolutely going to get, is an Eastern Ukraine, either just the Donbass region or most of Ukraine east of the Neeper River that divides the West from the East, he’s going to have that part of Ukraine as thoroughly pro-Russian, and he’s going to have what’s left of Ukraine functioning as a neutral border state between Russia and Nato similar to what Finland has been up to this point.”
