[1] It's Tuesday, January 24th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
[2] Amidst fallout from the classified document scandal, President Biden received a statement of support from his friend, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who told media he did not suspect any purposeful wrongdoing by the president.
[3] Let me just say this.
[4] I've known President Biden for a long time.
[5] I would be shocked if there's anything sinister here.
[6] And on Tuesday, attorneys for vice president, Mike Pence announced that classified documents have also been found at his home in Indiana.
[7] Pence's attorneys said his team notified the National Archives of the documents on January 18th and that he discovered them two days prior.
[8] Per protocol, the National Archives notified the FBI, which then searched the home last Thursday.
[9] Sources told CNN that the documents appear to have been inadvertently packed up from his vice presidential office and transported to his home without Pence's knowledge.
[10] A mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, California on Monday, left seven people dead and another injured.
[11] Authorities say the suspect is a 67 -year -old Chinese migrant worker who opened fire on other migrants at two separate locations.
[12] Law enforcement say they believe the shooting may have been workplace violence.
[13] All of the evidence we have points to this being the instance of workplace violence.
[14] The Mountain Mushroom Farm, the first location, is where the subject was employed.
[15] Republican House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said this week that he intends to investigate donations to the Penn Biden Center, as well as who is purchasing Hunter Biden's artwork as part of the probe into the Biden family's financial ties.
[16] Comer has already sent requests for documents and other information to the White House, the University of Pennsylvania, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and others.
[17] He states he's planning more requests in the future and says he's willing to subpoena information if he must.
[18] The Justice Department is reportedly preparing to sue Google over the company's dominance in the digital advertising space.
[19] The DOJ is expected to file the lawsuit in court by the end of the week, and it will be the latest in a series of antitrust cases made against the company by federal and state government entities.
[20] The trial for Mark Hauk, the Catholic father of seven and pro -life activist arrested by the FBI last year, began on Tuesday.
[21] Hauk is accused of violating the FACE Act after he allegedly shoved a clinic escrow.
[22] to the ground after the escort allegedly hassled his son.
[23] Hauk is facing 11 years behind bars and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines if convicted.
[24] An attorney for Hauk has called the case clear political prosecution.
[25] First off, Mark is innocent.

[29] We're getting indications, you know, that the DOJ is probing in other places so that this is really their first major foray, their first public attempt to intimidate and frighten the pro -life movement.
[30] The FDA is considering new simplified COVID vaccine guidelines.
[31] The recommendation is that healthy adults and children get a shot once a year.
[32] The proposal will be considered by a panel of vaccine experts on Thursday.
[33] Only 16 % of eligible Americans have received a COVID booster.
[34] Employers are cutting temporary workers at a hasty pace.
[35] More than 100 ,000 workers were laid off in the past five months, 35 ,000 in December alone.
[36] This marks the highest number since 2021.
[37] Economists say the cuts indicate more layoffs are coming along with a recession.
[38] Four migrants bused to New York City from Texas were arrested for allegedly stealing more than $12 ,000 in items from Macy's.
[39] The migrants were detained after being tracked down by Nassau County police.
[40] They allegedly drove away from the crime scene in a 2006 BMW with a false license plate.
[41] Taylor Swift fans protested at the Capitol today where the Senate Judiciary Committee held a into live nation and the lack of competition in the ticketing industry.
[42] This comes after years of complaints about high fees and murky resale practices.
[43] The so -called Swifties are the company's most vocal critics.
[44] Attorneys general of several states have launched consumer protection investigations, while many lawmakers have called for ticket master to be broken up, and dozens of Swift fans have sued the company for fraud and antitrust violations.
[45] And Oscar nominations were announced today in Los Angeles, including a few nods to notable blockbusters.
[46] Everything Everywhere All At Once had the most nominations with 11, including a Best Picture Nod.
[47] The other nominees in that category, all quiet on the Western Front, Avatar, The Way of Water, Elvis, The Fableman's, Triangle of Sadness, Women Talking, and my personal pick, Top Gun Maverick.
