[0] I'm Daily Wire, Editor -in -Chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe.

[1] It's Tuesday, September 5th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

[2] Last Thursday, an illegal alien considered to be extremely dangerous, escaped a Pennsylvania prison.

[3] Now, authorities are searching far and wide for the convict.

[4] Daily Wire, Senior Editor Cabot Phillips, has more.

[5] Dinello Cabalcante, a Resilient National, escaped Chester County Prison near Philadelphia at roughly 8 .30 a .m. Cavalcante was convicted on August 16th for killing.

[6] his ex -girlfriend in 2021 and sentenced to life in prison.

[7] Monday evening, Calvacante was spotted on security cameras at Longwood Gardens, a popular botanical garden near Kennett Square, PA.

[8] One Pennsylvania man claims Calvaconte entered his home to steal food, telling ABC 6 that he was awakened by a noise downstairs and flipped his light switch on and off several times to alert the intruder of his presence.

[9] The intruder allegedly then proceeded to flip the light switch downstairs on and off three or four times.

[10] That resident then watched the prison escape flee.

[11] This morning, officials provided updates on his potential whereabouts during a press conference.

[12] We continue to ask for the public's help by familiarizing themselves with the photograph and the description of Cavalcante.

[13] We're also asking people in an expanded area from the Piccopson Township area south to be alert and to call us with anything suspicious.

[14] We ask them to please secure homes, outbuildings, and vehicles.

[15] Flights booked under United Airlines have resumed after a brief ground stop due to technical difficulties.

[16] United said earlier today that it was experiencing a system -wide technology issue.

[17] Plains on the ground were held while flights in the air were continued to their planned destination.

[18] Nearly an hour later, United said the issue had been resolved.

[19] The ground stop delayed 211 flights nationwide.

[20] Lawyers representing convicted murderer Alec Murdoch filed a motion today for a new trial after allegedly finding evidence of jury tampering.

[21] In the motion, the The attorneys claim that Colaton County clerk Rebecca Hill tampered with and pressured the jury not to believe the defense.

[22] The motions also accuse her of misrepresenting critical and material information to the trial judge in her campaign to remove a juror who she believed would be favorable to the defense.

[23] The attorneys are expected to address their findings publicly later today.

[24] This comes nearly six months after 55 -year -old Alec Murdoch was found guilty on two counts of murder in the fatal shootings of his wife and youngest son.

[25] First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for COVID Monday evening.

[26] President Joe Biden has tested negative and is scheduled to go to the G20 summit hosted in India.

[27] The White House said that the president will be tested on a regular basis among other precautionary measures.

[28] He's not experiencing any symptoms as far as the steps he's taking since the president was with the first lady yesterday.

[29] He will be masking while indoors and around people in alignment with CDC guidance.

[30] And as has been the practice in the past, the president will remove his mask when sufficiently distance from others indoors and while outside as well.

[31] Burning Man organizers have removed a driving ban after the Nevada desert finally dried sufficiently enough for thousands of event goers to leave.

[32] The annual escapist event turned into a nightmare scenario after heavy rains muddied the entire area where Burning Man is held, leaving thousands stranded and literally stuck in the mud for several days.

[33] Now the mass exodus has begun, causing an hours -long traffic jam.

[34] Here are some event attendees recounting their experiences.

[35] During the first four days, everything was dry, like the desert should be, and then, you know, out of nowhere, a lot more rain than expected came along and turned the desert floor into basically clay.

[36] It became a mini -disaster for a lot of people.

[37] Entire camps became pretty much destroyed.

[38] So it was a lot of very trying times for a lot of people.

[39] Officials say at least one individual died during the festival and heavy rain reportedly delayed efforts to send help.

[40] The impeachment trial against Texas GOP attorney general Ken Paxton began today after the Texas Senate denied a motion to dismiss the trial.

[41] Paxton is being accused of 20 charges including constitutional bribery, abuse of official capacity, misuse of official information.

[42] and retaliation against former employees.

[43] Paxton is the state's first attorney general to be impeached.

[44] Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick underscored the solemn nature of the day at the start of the trial.

[45] I thought it appropriate to bring out the Sam Houston Bible, not just for Judge Myers and myself, but for each member of the Senate, the jurors.

[46] So we're going to take a few minutes instead of swearing in everyone at one time.

[47] And our clerk of the court, Patsy Spa, who I might mention has not missed a session.

[48] day in 54 years.

[49] We'll present the Bible to each member.

[50] I will swear them in.

[51] Steve Harwell, the former lead singer of American rock band Smash Mouth, died on Monday from liver failure at the age of 56.

[52] Band manager Robert Hayes confirmed Harwell's death to Rolling Stone, saying the longtime frontman for the group passed away peacefully and comfortably at his home in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by friends and family.

[53] Harwell recently entered in -home hospice care following a lifelong battle with alcohol addiction, according to TMZ.
