[0] I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor -in -Chief John Bickley.

[1] It's Monday, March 27th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

[2] At least six people, including three children, have died as a result of a mass shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville this morning.

[3] The shooter, who has been identified as a 28 -year -old female, was killed in a confrontation with police.

[4] Police say the shooter entered Covenant School through a side entrance and made her way to the second floor.

[5] When the officers got to the second level, they saw a shooter, a female who was firing.

[6] The officers engaged her.

[7] She was fatally shot by responding police officers.

[8] Chief John Drake of the Metropolitan Nashville Police gave some new information about the shooter during local law enforcement's second press conference of the day.

[9] We have identified the suspect that's a 28 -year -old female wife, that's actually a Nashvilleian or lives in the Nashville area.

[10] We are having an ongoing investigation as it pertains to her at this time.

[11] Look, did you have any connection to the church?

[12] From my initial findings is that at one point she was a student at that school, but unsure what year, all of that.

[13] But that's what I've been told so far.

[14] Massive protests and a national strike erupted in Israel on Sunday.

[15] The demonstrations followed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a cabinet member opposed to his bid to reform the nation's Supreme Court.

[16] Here with Moore's Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips.

[17] Netanyahu, who was seeking to expand the Israeli parliament's lawmaking authority by curbing the Supreme Court's power, on Sunday fire defense minister Yoav Gallant, who had called for a pause in the reforms.

[18] Left -wing protesters responded by blocking streets and bridges and lighting fires on roadways.

[19] Critics of Israel's Supreme Court say it has too much power and is not answerable to the people.

[20] Under the proposed reforms, the Knesset would have an increased role in the selection of judges and the power to override Supreme Court decisions that overturned laws.

[21] The High Court would also be forced to apply the law to cases rather than ruling based on its own reasonability test.

[22] Supporters say the new system of government would provide more checks and balances, similar to the U .S., but even supporters of the change has warned that forcing them through could spark more severe protests and potential violence.

[23] By evening local time, Netanyahu had announced that he would be postponed, the reforms until the summertime, and seek to find common ground in the meantime.

[24] A Manhattan grand jury was scheduled to hear from another witness today as it considers charges against former President Donald Trump over alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.

[25] At a rally over the weekend, Trump took aim at Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg.

[26] So think of this.

[27] He calls up the prosecutor.

[28] Think of this.

[29] He calls up the District Attorney of Manhattan.

[30] He said, I'd like to come and work for.

[31] free to get Trump, and they bring them into the office.

[32] He becomes the head prosecutor.

[33] Lawmakers are warning that a new so -called zombie drug, known as Zylazine, or Trank, is ripping through the nation.

[34] The drug is linked to deaths in 48 states and dozens have already overdosed in New York, leading Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to request that the drug enforcement administration send a special team to stop the flow of narcotics.

[35] It's a deadly, skin -rotting zombie drug that evil drug dealers are now mixing with fentanyl, with heroin, and with other drugs.

[36] I am asking them to deliver a diversion control team.

[37] The DEA has agents and law enforcement, but they're also chemists and other kinds of doctors, and they can swoop in on an area and deal with a drug problem.

[38] For its part, the DEA has said, quote, xylasein is making the deadliest drug threat our country has ever faced fentanyl, even deadlier.

[39] Carolina -based First Citizens Bank Shares, Inc. has agreed to buy a large part of Silicon Valley Bank, the largest bank to fail since the 2008 banking crisis.

[40] First Citizens will purchase around 72 billion of SVB's assets at a discount of $16 .5 billion.

[41] Some $90 billion in securities and other assets will remain in receivership with the FDIC.

[42] The FDIC said in a statement that it estimates the cost of the failure of the bank to its deposit insurance fund is around $20 ,000.

[43] Authorities are warning of severe flooding throughout the southeast as a new batch of thunderstorms hail and heavy rain pummeled the region into Monday afternoon.

[44] Nearly three million people stretching from Houston to the Georgia coast could be impacted by the storms, which according to the National Weather Service rank a four out of five in terms of storm severity.

[45] Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a school choice bill into law on Monday.

[46] Among other measures, the legislation will expand school choice vouchers to all students in the state, and expands eligibility for school choice scholarships to all Florida residents who are eligible to enroll in a K -12 public school.

[47] The governor made the following remarks at the signing.

[48] We will be signing legislation, which will represent the largest expansion of education choice, not only in the history of this state, but in the history of these United States.

[49] That is a big deal.
