[1] It's Tuesday, November 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
[2] A man carrying a rifle was arrested at a park close to Senate office buildings in Washington, D .C. on Tuesday.
[3] However, the U .S. Capitol Police say there's no ongoing threat.
[4] Police say the suspect is in custody, and they have searched the park and plan to go through the man's belongings due to safety concerns.
[5] Police officers were seen running toward the Capitol.
[6] One witness described the suspect that, is a tall black man wearing an orange jumpsuit.
[7] The U .S. has authorized the sale of precision bombs to Israel as the country fights to eradicate Hamas.

[9] The Biden administration formally notified Congress on October 31st of its authorization to allow the sale of the kits which turn unguided bombs into precision -guided bombs.
[10] The order came after another sale of the same kits valued at over $400 million.
[11] The Israeli -owned Raphael Advanced Defense Systems, is purchasing the equipment directly from Raphael USA, an American company that has ties to its Israeli counterpart and not through the U .S. government.
[12] The weapons transfer comes after Hamas launched an unprecedented terrorist attack on October 7th, ordering 1 ,400 Israelis, wounding 5 ,300 more and kidnapping more than 240.
[13] Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel may remain in Gaza for an unspecified amount of time, though President Biden has said occupying Gaza would be a mistake.
[14] This comes as rockets fired by Hezbollah reached further into Israeli territory.
[15] The terror group's deputy secretary general tried to frame Israel as the aggressor saying that the attacks from Iranian -backed militant groups against American targets were, quote, a clear message that if you expand, there will be serious consequences.
[16] Brandeis University says it will no longer recognize students for justice in Palestine on its campus, the first private university in the nation to do so.

[18] The student organization announced on Instagram that its vigil for Palestine event set to take place on Monday has been canceled since their organization was unjustly de -chartered.
[19] According to the Jewish insider, the university's SJP chapter was notified of their disbandment through a letter in a decision that was, quote, not made lightly.
[20] The group will no longer receive.
[21] The group will no longer see funding or be allowed to hold events on campus.
[22] Part of the letter reads as follows.
[23] The National SJP has called on its chapters to engage in conduct that supports Hamas in its call for the violent elimination of Israel and the Jewish people.
[24] These tactics are not protected by the university's principles.
[25] Law enforcement officials in Southern California are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Jewish man who was injured during a confrontation with a Palestinian protester at dueling pro -Israel and pro -Palestinian rallies.
[26] 69 -year -old Paul Kessler died on Monday.
[27] Witnesses say Kessler had been in a physical altercation with Palestinian counter -protesters in the city of Thousand Oaks.
[28] The Ventura County Sheriff's Department says that during the altercation, Kessler fell backward and hit his head.
[29] Here's what one witness says she saw.
[30] They were both on an even ground, and they were yelling at each other, and then the man brought his megaphone up and hit Paul and Paul went down.
[31] The sheriff's department also says that the medical examiner's office determined the cause of death to be blunt force head injury and the manner of death homicide.
[32] Officials say a suspect in the confrontation who called 911 has been cooperative after being detained for a short period of time.
[33] Voters around the country are walking into the voting booth today to decide key elections, including a bid by Kentucky Republicans to flip the governor's office and an abortion referendum in Ohio.
[34] In Kentucky, Democratic Governor Andy Bashir is facing a challenge from Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron, with recent polls showing a tight race.
[35] In Ohio, voters will decide whether to enshrine abortion access into the state constitution.
[36] Pro -life advocates say that the initiative could allow abortions in late stages of pregnancy.
[37] And we work, a company once worth billions of dollars has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
[38] The company that promised to upend the way people went to work around the world said on Monday that it was entering a restructuring support agreement with many of its stakeholders in hopes of cutting down the company's debt.
[39] According to AP, the agreement should strike roughly $3 billion from what the company owes.
[40] The company's downfall is also documented in a Hulu documentary.
