Morning Wire XX
[0] As Israel continues its war against Hamas, thousands of people from world leaders to volunteers have felt compelled to visit the area as a show of support.
[1] One such person is former journalist Dalia Lockheedee.
[2] She's a Muslim American who is challenging Elon Omar to represent Minnesota's 5th Congressional District.
[3] Daily Wire reporter Cassie Dillon met up with Al -Qaeda in Jerusalem to talk about what compelled her to travel to Israel.
[4] I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire, editor -in -chief.
[5] John Bickley.
[6] It's Saturday, November 4th, and this is an extra edition of Morning Wire.
[7] The following is an interview between Daily Wire journalist Cassie Dillon and Minnesota Republican congressional candidate Dahlia Lockheedee, who is traveling through Israel to see firsthand what's taking place and to show support for the Jewish people and those held hostage in Gaza.
[8] Great.
[9] So let's start first with just saying who you are of people who have never heard of you.
[10] My name is Dalia Lockheedee.
[11] I'm a former journalist.
[12] I've been a judge.
[13] I've been a journalist for 35 years.
[14] And I've been very active with think tanks.
[15] I just launched a new think tank, the American Center for Counter -Extremism in Minnesota in the city of Minneapolis.
[16] And I'm running in Minnesota's fifth district against Elhan Omar.
[17] So tell me exactly where you are right now and why you're here.
[18] Right this moment, I'm in Jerusalem.
[19] I came here four days ago.
[20] And of course, prior to October 7th, we've been, like, we just started the campaign.
[21] We launched the campaign almost like three weeks ago.
[22] But being from ground zero of anti -Semitism and seeing what happened, the brutality of the terrorist attack October 7th and after that, I decided that, first of all, Minnesota's need somebody to convey their message.
[23] They are not represented by Ilhan Omar.
[24] Minneapolis, the 5th District is not anti -Semitic.
[25] We support Israel, we support the Jewish people, and we are not supporters of terrorism.
[26] So I came to tell the Jewish people, to tell the Israelis that I feel your pain, I'm with you, we are with you, and it's not only your fight, it's our fight, it's the fight between good and evil.
[27] What have you seen so far while in Israel?
[28] Who have you talked to?
[29] What's been going on?
[30] And how are people feeling here?
[31] It is the most, most interesting trip I've ever done in my life.
[32] And let me be clear, I've been all over the world.
[33] I've covered war zones.
[34] I've covered terrorist attacks.
[35] This is my first trip, and it's very sad that I came under these horrible circumstances.
[36] I've seen a lot.
[37] I've been to caboots.
[38] I've seen the atrocities of what Hamas terrorists have done.
[39] I've talked to people, I've talked to Arabs, I've talked to Israelis, I've talked to Christians, to Muslims, to Jews, and nobody wants that.
[40] People are scared, not scared of rockets, people are scared from that toxic ideology that is spreading all over the world against a minority, a very small minority and a peaceful minority.
[41] And when they say, oh, maybe ceasefire or, but sees fire for what?
[42] I mean, what did the terrorists expect Israel to do after what I've seen?
[43] They say it's fake news, fake news, fake news, fine, say fake news.
[44] I've seen it with my own eyes.
[45] I wouldn't want to stop.
[46] Why?
[47] To achieve what?
[48] I believe that terrorism and terrorist groups like Hamas, like the jihad al -Islamy, like all the militias, Hezbollah, and all the militias that are supported, by Iran.
[49] I believe they should be fought from every angle.
[50] There is no place for terrorism or that shouldn't be a place for terrorism and radical ideologies on this planet.
[51] So you just said this is your first time in Israel?
[52] So Israel goes to war.
[53] This atrocity happens and you decide to hop on a plane.
[54] Talk about that.
[55] What drove you to get here?
[56] What were you hoping to achieve?
[57] It's not achieving.
[58] I'm not here to achieve any political or anything.
[59] No, I'm here as a human being.
[60] I'm here to tell the people not from behind my screen in the U .S. to be on ground with them and to tell them this is our fight.
[61] Radical ideologies targets you, radical ideologies targets me as a moderate Muslim.
[62] So we're all in this together and there's no stronger way to convey this other than me being here.
[63] I feel the same rockets that fall on the Israeli cities.
[64] And guess what?
[65] Israelis are not scared and I'm not scared.
[66] That's how you show support and that's how you convey your true feelings and solidarity with the people of Israel.
[67] Now a little bit ago, you said that you were from ground zero of anti -Semitism.
[68] Could you talk a little bit about your background?
[69] Originally, I'm from Iraq.
[70] I was born in Baghdad.
[71] I grew up in a Muslim culture, in a Muslim.
[72] Muslim family.
[73] And then I moved to the US 93.
[74] After Ilhan Omar was elected, I've tried, as a journalist, I've tried so hard to interview her, just like what you're doing now.
[75] I was shut down, so I decided to go to Minneapolis, to her district, to talk to her people.
[76] That's when I found out that people of Minneapolis or the 5th District don't think the way she is.
[77] Let me give you a brief history.
[78] In 2014, when ISIS entered the city of Mosul and started prosecuting the Iraqi Christians, killing them, torturing them, forcing them to convert.
[79] I was stationed as a journalist in Lebanon in Beirut back then, and I covered what was happening, and I flew to Iraq.
[80] And then I launched the campaign with all Christians.
[81] And I live on air, I said, I'm the Muslim Sunni, I'm going to wear the cross until every Christian goes back to their villages and cities.
[82] Now I'm wearing the Star of David and saying, I'm not going to take it off until every hostage comes back to their cities and villages.
[83] It's about taking a stand.
[84] It's not a political stand.
[85] It's taking a stand.
[86] Let's talk about a little bit of the things you saw.
[87] You said you went to a kibbutz, What did you see there?
[88] How did you feel?
[89] In Niraz, kibbutz.
[90] It was, look, as I said, I've covered war zones and I've covered terrorist attacks.
[91] Well, I've seen what ISIS has done and I've seen what al -Qaeda has done.
[92] Combine the actions of al -Qaeda and ISIS and put it in Nira's kibu's.
[93] That's what I've seen.
[94] I went inside so many houses there you can tell the story you don't need to hear it you can tell it you can tell the the doors from the doors of the safe rooms you see it from you enter the safe room and you see the bullet holes you go in you see the blood it's awful it is awful you can tell that these We're hunting people, not from house to house, not from street street, from room to room in their houses.
[95] We hear Ilhan Omar saying how Palestinians are being bombed and Israel is an aggressor and there should be a ceasefire.
[96] So what would you want the people of Minnesota to know about what she's saying versus what you saw?
[97] Look, everything we're getting from Gaza is heartbreaking.
[98] All the innocent victims that we've seen with the pictures, everything is so heartbreaking.
[99] But there's only one way to stop the bloodshed.
[100] Number one, release the hostages right away.
[101] Number two, surrender.
[102] That's it.
[103] That was an interview in Jerusalem between Daily Wire journalist Cassie Dillon and Dahlia Lockheedee, and this has been an extra edition.
[104] of Morning Wire.
