[20] God bless football.
[21] Billy Gill.
[22] God bless football.
[23] Mike, yay.
[24] God bless football, Mike Golick.
[25] God bless football, everyone.
[26] We're back.
[27] We're back.
[28] I thought you were actually upset and crying because you were joining us.
[29] God bless football.
[30] I'm sure you guys would do something to tick me off, but God bless football.
[31] Aloha football fans.
[32] We're back.
[33] This is very exciting.
[34] We have Chiefs and Ravens tonight.
[35] What a great way to kick off the NFL season.
[36] We are live at Arrowhead.
[37] stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
[38] How about that?
[39] I mean, this is very exciting.
[40] It really is.
[41] It's a show me state, right?
[42] Show me, can the Chiefs show again and go for a three -peat?
[43] Well, what do you think, can they?
[44] Take a break.
[45] Take a break, Kansas City.
[46] Let's someone else do it.
[47] Take a break.
[48] Take a year off.
[49] That's how Nick fans felt with the Bulls and Michael Jordan.
[50] Oh, yeah.
[51] In the late 80s and early 90s, some of the better teams are just caught in the wrong era, right?
[52] You're just caught in the wrong era.
[53] This is such a fun time because the NFL kicks off.
[54] College football has already kicked off.
[55] You have Major League Baseball approaching the interesting part of their season, the postseason.
[56] And so everything is just kind of happening at once.
[57] And it's really cool.
[58] Mike, I'm wondering here because you've talked to us a lot about training camp in the past and how grueling it is and how guys just want to get through it.
[59] Can you describe for us and the audience what it is like to get through that?
[60] and then you're playing for the Chiefs or you're playing for the Ravens and you are a mere few hours away from starting your season.
[61] What is that feeling like?
[62] The greatest day is the day you broke camp.
[63] Again, when I was playing, when I first started playing, camp would be six weeks.
[64] Right.
[65] You know, and then it went down to like four weeks.
[66] But you just, you just waited.
[67] You know, you started like, by the end of my career, started a week before the preseason started and went through the third game of the preseason.
[68] That was always the goal.
[69] get to the third game and then break camp.
[70] And then we didn't practice.
[71] It wasn't done as much when I played, where you practice with another team before you played them in the preseason game.
[72] And I think that's the best work teams get now is start practicing like Wednesday, Thursday, and then play them Saturday in the preseason game.
[73] We didn't do that.
[74] So to hit another color jersey or somebody who wasn't on your team, you were frothing at the mouth.
[75] So A, you broke camp, you just felt relieved.
[76] And B, that opening game, game.
[77] You just, there was so much, so much built up inside to we get to now hit another person on another team.
[78] I thought Billy had something there.
[79] He was like leaning in like you had something there.
[80] Me?
[81] Yeah.
[82] No, I'm just taking this all in, man. I can't believe it.
[83] You said give, the chiefs give someone else a chance.
[84] I'm wondering, is this going to be a repeat of last year's opening night for the cheese?
[85] Because you get on the high of you win the Super Bowl, it's trophy, it's ring night.
[86] Everybody's here to celebrate and then you lose to the lions.
[87] I said this morning on Gojo and Mike's morning show on the Draft King's Network, that this is a must -win game for the Ravens.
[88] The Chiefs don't care about this game.
[89] The Ravens have to win this game.
[90] The only other side I'll say to that is I think Patrick Mahom great players, all players should, but great players really do.
[91] We've seen Tom Brady do it.
[92] We've seen Michael Jordan do it, Kobe do it, is you find a chip on your shoulder.
[93] You create a chip on your shoulder.
[94] And for Mahomes, it was like he's happy they went back -to -back in the super, but he's mad at their offense because it was a defensive -led team and he wants it to be an offensive -led team with incredible numbers.
[95] So I do think from that standpoint that they will come out and he is going to toss the ball downfield.
[96] Xavier Worthy, you know, ran the fastest time ever for 40 at the combine is that speed guy to get behind the defense.
[97] You have Travis actually playing in this game like he didn't last year because of the hyper -extended knee.
[98] So I think Pat, And the off, Pat feels the offense has something to prove.
[99] It's going to be interesting to see if this is a fast year for the pace of the Chiefs' offense.
[100] Because last year, when you think Chiefs, you think high -powered offense.
[101] You think the big plays, right?
[102] But in reality, the Chiefs last year, the pace of play when they were leading games was like 26 in the league.
[103] They slow it down when they're leading the league.
[104] That's what Mike is saying.
[105] Like, Mahomes wants to be, not only does he want to win, he wants to be the reason that his team wins.
[106] And they're a motion team.
[107] They're one of the top motion teams.
[108] So that's always going to take a little bit of time to send A &A and the Rams, probably the two biggest motion teams out there.
[109] But, yeah, I just feel like Pat has a lot to prove.
[110] He has more weapons on the offense.
[111] And four -fifths, I know you have a rookie starting at left tackle, but you have the rest of your line still starting.
[112] You also had somewhat forgotten.
[113] The Chiefs, while winning the Super Bowl, weren't dominant last year.
[114] It looked like teams had finally caught up to them.
[115] You had the Ravens that looked like they caught up.
[116] You had the bills that looked like they cut up, and then you had to run through the chiefs in the playoffs, and they ran through everyone.
[117] It's because the offense, yeah, and that's one thing they did prove is the talk was, oh, Mahomes could do it at home, but can you do it on the road?
[118] Yep, and check that box.
[119] You can do it on the road pretty well.
[120] Against good quarterbacks.
[121] But, you know, they weren't blowing teams out because the offense wasn't the normal, you know, big strike offense where you had to outscore them.
[122] You know, you had to beat them 35 to 32 or 28 to 24.
[123] and not 17 to 10 to get a win in the ASC championship game like they did against Baltimore.
[124] Well, there were strokes of luck, too, right?
[125] There's miss field goals.
[126] They had to drop passes.
[127] I mean, the amount of drop passes.
[128] A thousand -degree weather.
[129] Yeah, but I don't think you'll find a Super Bowl champion that didn't have some luck along the way.
[130] It's a weird game.
[131] You know, between injury to opponents or some luck to ball bounce in the right way, certainly you have to have some of that.
[132] It becomes completely forgotten, and the winning the back -to -back, and now if they three -peat, it becomes a question of where are.
[133] are they in terms of dynasties?
[134] Where are they in relation to the patriots?
[135] Where are they in relation to the 70 dolphins?
[136] Where are they in relation to the steel curtain?
[137] I mean, they're a dynasty.
[138] They're right with them.
[139] I mean, now, now they have to match.
[140] I mean, now you're talking about it.
[141] It's like different rooms in the Hall of Fame.
[142] Right.
[143] Like, you know, I just use him because I played with him.
[144] The late great Reggie White is in a separate room, you know, with like Bruce Smith and Aaron Donald one day, a separate room.
[145] Lawrence Taylor.
[146] a separate room, but there's plenty in the hall, but there's separate rooms.
[147] There'll be a dynasty, but there's separate dynasties.
[148] There's the long New England dynasty.
[149] There's the four and five years dynasty of the Steelers, which you would kind of put the chiefs in that category, especially to put three in a row, four in the last however many years.
[150] I mean, there absolutely would be a dynasty.
[151] Who's the biggest threat to them this year, though?
[152] Chats.
[153] You didn't.
[154] I did it.
[155] I said it, yeah.
[156] Stop it.
[157] I picked them to play Cincinnati in the AFC championship game.
[158] So I guess that would be Cincinnati would be the biggest threat to them.
[159] And then I actually have them losing the Super Bowl to Detroit.
[160] So I don't have them three -peating.
[161] I have them getting back there.
[162] Gollix love the Campbell.
[163] The AFC is much deeper, obviously, the NFL.
[164] Why is that surprising that the Golicz love Dan Campbell?
[165] I mean, I love Dan Campbell.
[166] the team.
[167] But you know Dan, right?
[168] Oh, yeah, I know Dan.
[169] I'm not picking them to win the Super Bowl because of Dan.
[170] He's part of it.
[171] Wait a second.
[172] If I told you, how long have you known Dan?
[173] I mean, I've known him just through ball for a number of years.
[174] But if I told you like 15 years ago that one day that man was going to be a Super Bowl champion winning coach, you would have told me what?
[175] I would have said, you're crazy.
[176] I mean, especially even even with his first, I remember as a former player listening to his introductory presser talking about how they're going to bite kneecaps and beat, and I just thought to myself, oh, the players on the team have to be going, oh, my God, training camp is going to be so frigging hard because of this tough -ass coach.
[177] Well, he showed up with a motorcycle helmet at the press conference.
[178] I mean, he's still out there doing up downs with him and stuff, but he's, he's, what a joy he has been.
[179] You mentioned the Bengals.
[180] I feel, Billy, you have said to me, I think, on our show that Joe Burrow needs to show you something.
[181] Yeah, it's time, Mike.
[182] I think he needs to show us something finally.
[183] It's gotten injured.
[184] He was in the Super Bowl.
[185] Show us, you can't get injured.
[186] Show us.
[187] Show us.
[188] Just show us something.
[189] He's had an ease.
[190] He's had a wrist, and he's had an appendectomy.
[191] Well, so it was appendix.
[192] Show me something besides your appendix.
[193] You know whose appendix hasn't burst?
[194] Patrick Mahomes.
[195] No, no, it has not.
[196] Yeah.
[197] And I really feel two in a row, he feels like the offense has something to prove.
[198] They're going to be a tough out.
[199] It also feels like what's going to stop them is just Andy deciding he's had enough of coaching at his point, right?
[200] Because the way the team's constructed...
[201] I'm not certain that would stop the homes, though.
[202] But all the people at the top are getting their money, but they find all the complimentary pieces just to make things work.
[203] So the trifecta of Andy, Pat, and Travis, the first one you're probably going to lose is Travis.
[204] Andy's just having a ball.
[205] I don't see Andy.
[206] You know, people thought when they won back to back, you might walk away, but he's coming on our show.
[207] Mike, I know, you wait your entire life to get a quarterback like this.
[208] Why would you leave now?
[209] I could see Travis leaving of the three first, you know, being 35 years old, most, you know, tight ends are retired by then, but he's still going and still, you know, adding to his Hall of Fame resume, but they just keep picking up the pieces.
[210] Lose Tyree Kill, he have trouble at the wide receiver position, a lot of drops, still win back -to -back Super Bowls.
[211] He's 27 years old.
[212] He's won three Super Bowls.
[213] He's won three Super Bowl MVP.
[214] And the fact that he's finding things to motivate himself and still can find things to motivate himself.
[215] That's the difference between the Reggie White's, the Patrick Mahomes is, and everyone else.
[216] He's 84 yards, which he'll get tonight, 84 yards away from breaking the franchise passing yards, breaking Len Dawson's record.
[217] And he's been in the league, what, six, seven years?
[218] He's 27, 28?
[219] Yeah, 28 years old.
[220] I mean, it's ridiculous.
[221] It's ridiculous.
[222] It's insane.
[223] I think Billy has a game that's going to make your head explode.
[224] I do want to talk some college with you, and perhaps we'll do it at the end of the segment, because Notre Dame had a big win last week.
[225] There's a big game this week with Texas and Michigan.
[226] Billy and I are already upset with the expanded playoffs.
[227] These games don't mean as much as they used to the regular season game.
[228] I'm just happy we're talking early enough where we're not doing a ranking yet.
[229] Big news coming in the BCS, Mike.
[230] Committee's already met this year, Mike.
[231] There's some sweeping changes.
[232] No worry.
[233] But first, a segment that we've been promising you, but we haven't given you a lot of information on.
[234] No, you have not.
[235] Here's a problem.
[236] I'm excited.
[237] This is a segment.
[238] it's called Don't Look Now.
[239] So I'm going to need you to put on this blindfold because you can't look because you can't look now.
[240] Whoa, wait, I'm going to have a blind fold on this blindfold and then we're going to play Don't Look Now.
[241] All right?
[242] You trust us, right?
[243] Now, Mike, I will tell you, no he does not.
[244] I will tell you I had nothing to do with the creation of this game, but I support everything Billy Gill does.
[245] So I am good with it.
[246] Well, you're going to have questions for Don't Look Now's too guys.
[247] I am.
[248] I normally just ready for any game you guys want to play, it's just Billy getting me mad.
[249] Oh, wait.
[250] Yes.
[251] Yes.
[252] Yeah.
[253] But now we can't see your anger because you're...
[254] Oh, my God, I can't see.
[255] Don't, don't get near me. Don't.
[256] Don't touch.
[257] It's a small desk, Mike.
[258] All right.
[259] I'm near everything.
[260] You want us to remind you the name of the game and how to play it or...
[261] What is it called again?
[262] Don't look now.
[263] Don't look now.
[264] Don't look now.
[265] All right, so here's how this goes, Mike.
[266] Ridiculous.
[267] Don't look now.
[268] March A's practice yesterday.
[269] Don't look, Mike.
[270] Don't look.
[271] And?
[272] Well, comment.
[273] You tell us.
[274] Well, I mean, so this is very odd.
[275] I'm not going to lie.
[276] I'll be able to look at people when I talk.
[277] It's a game of chicken with he and Cincinnati.
[278] Who blinks first?
[279] Does he sit in the first game against New England where they should win anyway?
[280] Or does he sit and saying, hey, I may sit for the second game, which is against Kansas City?
[281] And if you're looking for home field toward the end of the season, that would be a big game, even though it would be week two.
[282] And Cincinnati has never paid anybody two years out from their deal being done.
[283] So it's a game of chicken.
[284] I could see him sitting out a game or two.
[285] I love a game of chicken.
[286] I cannot believe you're doing this.
[287] I cannot believe.
[288] This man is a Hall of Famer.
[289] I feel you guys are doing things around me. He's in multiple Hall of Fame.
[290] He's in a wrestling Hall of Fame.
[291] He's in broadcasting Hall of Fame.
[292] He's just not in the Hall of Fame that he wants to be.
[293] No, that's the truth.
[294] That's the truth.
[295] I'm so jealous.
[296] Mike, don't look now, but the NFL might move opening weekend to Labor Day and have games five days in a row, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, money.
[297] I love it.
[298] Well, I mean, the only day the NFL has not actually had it, they've had a game played on Tuesday because that was a weather issue.
[299] They've never had a game scheduled on Tuesday.
[300] Wednesday will be the first time this year because of Christmas.
[301] So it doesn't shock me. It doesn't shock me that they would move it, that they would go fine.
[302] Listen, football is king.
[303] They basically are big -footing the NBA on Christmas now.
[304] And I loved last year when they played on Christmas the first time.
[305] There were some NBA people saying, oh, the NBA is still going to be, no, no, you're not.
[306] Everybody loses to the NFL, quite honestly, mostly everybody loses to college football as well.
[307] But the NFL can do no wrong.
[308] That is the NFL saying, hey, college football, we don't like that you have your own weekend and we're going to take it from you.
[309] Here's now.
[310] So one other quick thing about, you know how college, don't look, and I can't even see my hands.
[311] One quick thing is there still there.
[312] College and NFL hate to do the same thing, like have the same rules.
[313] Right.
[314] So much so.
[315] Did you see the new thing that college football started this year?
[316] The two minutes?
[317] The two minute time out.
[318] Why can't they call it?
[319] It's not a two minute.
[320] Because of the NFL calls it a two minute warning.
[321] I think I'm looking at Billy now.
[322] Yeah, but you shouldn't be looking at Billy.
[323] The NFL calls.
[324] it a two minute warning.
[325] College doesn't want to emulate the NFL, so they call it the two minute timeout.
[326] It's the most ridiculous thing in the world.
[327] Don't look now Mike.
[328] FSU doesn't look the same without Jordan Travis.
[329] Well, they don't look the same.
[330] You know, there's two teams you can, listen, every year there are portal teams that go to the portal.
[331] And they went to the portal to get DJ.
[332] They went to the portal to get some Alabama players.
[333] They went to get to the portal on defense.
[334] And it hasn't come to fruition.
[335] Remember, there's no preseason games in college.
[336] So it's tough to build that chemistry.
[337] Though you look at a team like Miami, the U, I felt somebody's hand out.
[338] You guys are doing something.
[339] No, no, no, we were passing cards.
[340] Passing notes.
[341] The U has, you know, ranked in the top 10 in the last few recruiting cycles of high school and the last couple of portal cycles as well.
[342] And you look at them, they came out of the gate strong.
[343] So the thing with Florida State, to me it's not so much the quarterback, DJ is a guy You can't pronounce that last name I don't blame me I would try it either especially with a blindfold on DJ Ojungle Close, yes DJ Ongolole However you pronounce it wherever he goes He doesn't win DJ Ungolet Yeah he was in Oregon State But in all honesty Florida State is losing on the O line and the D line That's been their real issue The good news Mike with the expanded playoffs You know what they say if you're going to lose twice in week one do it early.
[344] The rare O -N -2 team after a week one.
[345] They are not running the table and they're not going to make the playoffs and they were the favor to win the ACC.
[346] Mike, don't look now.
[347] Oh, boy.
[348] You mentioned them, but the U is back.
[349] Let me tell you, they have hit it well with the portal, they've hit it well with recruiting, they hit it well with the transfer quarterback Cam Ward.
[350] That kid looks so, I'm trying cool under pressure, nonchalant, poised.
[351] Now he's going to throw his of interceptions because dude loves to roll left and throw back to the right and he had an interception in the game against Florida but also had a couple touchdowns doing that he will take a chance and he will throw an interception but he will make some great throws to me it's week one but he's the Heisman favorite in week one as we just talk about that but they look to be back and with Florida State losing twice in the conference already Virginia Tech losing to Vanderbilt.
[352] Miami is poisoned.
[353] Their schedule, we talk about Notre Dame's schedule not too damning, not too demanding, and they got rid of maybe the toughest one in Texas A &M.
[354] Miami's schedule is not too demanding either.
[355] They may run into a situation where they don't play against a ranked team.
[356] They're going to put up monster numbers and then it'll come down to the ACC championship game and then we'll see, I guess, once they make the playoffs.
[357] Even so, though, it's been so long since they've made the playoffs.
[358] obviously there's the expanded playoffs this year.
[359] But if they make the playoffs, it's already, I think, a win for Mario from where he's been at Miami so far.
[360] You just kind of wonder how he's able to then replicate it next year once they lose their quarterback.
[361] Well, that's a thing.
[362] It's like Notre Dame has Sam Hartman last year and then they bring in Riley Leonard.
[363] It's like, do you develop a quarterback or do you bring in a quarterback every year and start new?
[364] Well, that's Mario's strength, right?
[365] Recruiting is his strength.
[366] So this actually may be a perfect system for him, where if he's just able to find interchangeable parts every season.
[367] Why am I blindfolding?
[368] Well, because don't look at it.
[369] You're killing it.
[370] Mike pointed this out to me privately, Mike.
[371] We think that the blindfold is heightening your analyst's senses.
[372] Yeah, your other analyst is our height.
[373] The sense of sight, and now your analytical senses have.
[374] That's an interesting thought, yeah.
[375] Yeah.
[376] Billy.
[377] Don't look.
[378] Did you know he was over there?
[379] Hey, stop looking.
[380] Don't look now, but Iowa has a quarterback.
[381] Iowa has an offense.
[382] You know they have a defense.
[383] Now, how deep is the Big Ten?
[384] It's Ohio State.
[385] Oregon didn't look that great.
[386] Penn State looked excellent.
[387] Michigan, I don't think, is going to have a year.
[388] And Iowa, I mean, you get two, maybe three Big Ten teams.
[389] Could Iowa be one of them?
[390] We always had the issue with their offense, but now they're scoring points, and you know they have a tough defense.
[391] So possibly watch out for Iowa.
[392] That's a great take.
[393] Billy, should we let them look?
[394] hour.
[395] Yeah, you can look if you want, I guess.
[396] How'd that go?
[397] Oh, God.
[398] Yeah, it's bright out here.
[399] Bright light, bright light.
[400] It is very sunny here.
[401] Oh, my God.
[402] It is beaming out.
[403] That was interesting.
[404] It may have heightened my, it may have heightened my awareness of other things.
[405] You're welcome.
[406] Call a game with your eyes closed.
[407] Oh, my God.
[408] If you go up to the booth with a blindfold on, your porter will be disappointed.
[409] But wait until you start breaking it down.
[410] I'll be breaking it down based off his play -by -play.
[411] So how good is Ryan Radkey and play -by -play?
[412] Let me be an analyst with blindfold.
[413] That is a great point.
[414] All right, Mike, I don't want to tell you too much, but the next time you're on with us live, we're going to play a segment called Paint Me a Picture.
[415] And I'm not going to tell you how that works.
[416] Right, don't.
[417] You can think about it and, you know, try to price of information.
[418] Horrible at art. I'm horrible.
[419] But you can paint a picture.
[420] You can paint a picture.
[421] Be a stick figure.
[422] Don't sell yourself short.
[423] I'm selling myself way short on heart.
[424] excellent job that was fun i'm not going to lie i'm glad i can see again but it's fun wait until he see what billy was doing to him with the blind in the NFL there is no margin for error one mistake can change the outcome of the game science proves quality sleep can help boost reaction time recovery time and overall athletic performance as the official sleep wellness partner of the NFL sleep numbers mission is to provide players with data and insights to optimize their sleep for the ultimate competitive Sleep is essential for recovery, and we all have unique needs.

[437] We do game days.
[438] Please drink responsibly.
[439] The Smyranoff Company, New York, New York, Stu.
[440] Look who we found.
[441] It's amazing.
[442] It seems like when football's going on, our next guest is just hovering around.
[443] About.
[444] I walked into the stadium this morning.
[445] I walked past the thousands of cars, people tailgating at 5 .30 in the morning here in Kansas City.
[446] We're live at Arrowhead.
[447] And I stumbled into Trey Wingo.
[448] He was not tailgating, by the way.
[449] He was just meandering aimlessly, as I tend to do.
[450] How are you, buddy?
[451] I'm good, brother.
[452] how are you?
[453] I am doing excellent.
[454] Thank you for joining us here.
[455] Oh, come on.
[456] It's my honor.
[457] Thank you for the invitation.
[458] And welcome to the Draft King's family, man. Very excited about that, yeah.
[459] So what are you doing before the game?
[460] Pre -game power -up is going to be the new show on Draft Kings Network, Monday and Thursday night, 6 -7 Eastern.
[461] We'll get you set for the primetime games.
[462] Claudia Belafato and Emerson Lotzier are going to join us, as well as Marshall Newhouse, former offensive linemen for the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
[463] And we're just going to get you set with the betting lines, your fantasy lineups, and everything you need.
[464] need to know about the prime time games really looking forward to it you love this day i don't care how long you've been doing it and you've been doing it for a long time trey at the highest of levels but you love today do you take that as a compliment or insult the way he's saying that you've been doing this real long time at the highest of levels is what i said the first time i met tray was in a bathroom in espn that is true look at look at my hair yeah okay there's no color left so i i i can't run away from it the hair's still there though listen if if the two choices were gray and gone i'll take Gray.
[465] Sorry.
[466] Sorry, Junior.
[467] You wear that gray proud.
[468] What am I going to do?
[469] No, but it looks good.
[470] With all due respect, to people that are my age that suddenly magically have all their hair color, I'm looking at them like, you know we know, right?
[471] You know we know.
[472] Or they just have the little gray on the sides.
[473] My favorite one is when their beard is half gray and black and their hair is either all brown or all black.
[474] You know we know.
[475] It's fine, and you can do whatever you want, but you know We know.
[476] Name names.
[477] Somebody has wear hats to cover up the fact that they're bald.
[478] I feel like you should try it out, Trey, just once, you know?
[479] Go shave?
[480] No, no, not shave.
[481] Just for just for a minute.
[482] It looks so natural.
[483] No one can tell.
[484] Yeah, exactly.
[485] I don't think so.
[486] I mean, go printer black with it.
[487] Yeah.
[488] Go really dark.
[489] I can't.
[490] I think you're honestly working with a blank canvas, right?
[491] You could go any color.
[492] I could.
[493] Yeah.
[494] You know, as opaque as I am, I would go with anything.
[495] Sure.
[496] Trey, we had Golick on earlier, and he was talking about, well, don't look now, but I want to hear about it.
[497] I mean, look at you.
[498] Do you want to be blindfolded as well?
[499] I mean, that's a. Sto guts, don't reveal our inner secrets.
[500] We took this from me. It was next to the hairdryer.
[501] Well, this is what I love about Trey.
[502] This is, this is post -E -SB had Trey Wingo.
[503] This is a man who, for decades, had someone in his ear going, sport, football, sport, football, sport, sport, sports, football.
[504] We get here, opening day, Arrowhead Stadium.
[505] We have the Chiefs Ravens' great game.
[506] Drake comes on the morning show with me. Golly can go, Joe.
[507] And where does he start?
[508] Hair blowers.
[509] Why do they hide the hairdryer in the hotel room?
[510] I don't understand.
[511] Right next to the Bible.
[512] It's in the drawer, in the safe, in the closet.
[513] Put it in the bathroom.
[514] Like, why is this a game?
[515] I don't understand.
[516] There you go.
[517] Why are you making me work?
[518] Exactly.
[519] It's just a hair dryer.
[520] I do enough of that.
[521] Just tell me where it is.
[522] So Golick was telling us that last year's Super Bowl, satisfying, of course, you won the Super Bowl.
[523] but guys like Patrick Mahomes, Kobe Bryant, guys like that, they want to be the reason their teams win the Super Bowl, and perhaps Mahomes didn't feel like he was the reason.
[524] It was more the defense, maybe the running game, and Pacheco.
[525] Do you agree with that?
[526] I think that what's interesting to me is he was on the podium last year in Vegas, and they hadn't even given him the Lombardi trophy yet.
[527] And the first thing you hear him say is nobody's ever gotten three in a row.
[528] He was thinking about it in that moment.
[529] Right.
[530] And to your point about the defense, yes, absolutely the defense.
[531] did a much better job start to finish last year for the Chiefs.
[532] But let's look at the game itself.
[533] The coldest thing I've ever seen in sports was a text that Patrick Mahom sent to his family after, right before the end of the regular season last year, was the worst regular season in terms of wins.
[534] They were 11 and 6.
[535] He had the fewest yards per attempt of his career.
[536] The receivers led the league in drops.
[537] I mean, they were not good.
[538] He texted his family on their chain and said, I've decided we're going to win the Super Bowl.
[539] Not that we're going, or I think we can win.
[540] I've decided.
[541] And then what happened?
[542] There was only one touchdown drive for the Chiefs in that game.
[543] The muff punt led to a MvS touchdown on one play.
[544] They hold the Niners to a field goal.
[545] They need a touchdown to win the game in overtime.
[546] Fourth and one, he scrambles for it.
[547] Next play, he hits Marquez Valde Scantling, who runs backwards for eight yards, okay?
[548] They erase that in two plays.
[549] They get another scramble for a first down on third.
[550] and whatever.
[551] Then he hits Travis Kelsey over the middle for a first down.
[552] The very next play, Meekyll Hardman touchdown.
[553] He basically said I've decided we're going to win the game.
[554] Right.
[555] Coldest thing I've ever seen in my life.
[556] It's pretty amazing.
[557] It's ridiculous.
[558] He's an insane.
[559] He's an insane person.
[560] You would think you would use that power for something more important than winning a Super Bowl.
[561] What's more important?
[562] As a Jets fan, I ask you, what's more important?
[563] Hey, I've decided today that cancer is no longer around.
[564] If you had that kind of power.
[565] I don't.
[566] I don't think.
[567] That's a false Equivalency?
[568] Can it go out on a limb and say, Patrick Malmes is great.
[569] I don't know that he has the cure for cancer.
[570] He hasn't decided it.
[571] He just wakes up one morning, decides, I don't care how badly we played, I'm going to win a Super Bowl.
[572] Yeah, okay.
[573] That's his power.
[574] It's pretty freaking cool.
[575] And if you, we want to, like, this is God bless football.
[576] If you don't mind me nerding out for a second.
[577] Since 2000, I'm like, let me get the year right.
[578] Okay, there have been 120 situations in the postseason where the team got the ball left with under a minute to play, at least under a minute to play in the fourth quarter.
[579] The premise being it was either under a minute to play in the fourth quarter or in overtime.
[580] And of those 125 instances over the time frame, I think it was 2000.
[581] 40 % of the time, the team that needed whatever they needed to either win or extend the game, got it.
[582] And some quarterbacks are very good at it.
[583] Like Tom Brady, I think, was five for 11 in those situations.
[584] He converted 40%.
[585] Drew Brees was three of six, 50%, very good.
[586] There's only one quarterback that's perfect, and that's Patrick Mahomes.
[587] Seven out of seven in those situations in a playoff game in the fourth quarter, under a minute to play, whatever you need to either win the game or send it to overtime, he gets the points necessary.
[588] That's an insane thing.
[589] It's an insane thing.
[590] He also, as a game was going on, we've talked about this, obviously, you know, at nauseam last year after the Super Bowl particular.
[591] You kind of saw the difference in the experience there, right?
[592] Where the 49ers flat out set after the game, they didn't know the situation.
[593] And at home, a lot of us didn't know what was going on.
[594] Is it a situation where if the overtime clock runs out, the game is over, do they need to score?
[595] And the Chiefs, just because they've been there before, just because of what you're saying with Patrick Mahomes, with Andy Reed, they were never panicked.
[596] No, since 2001, but it was off by a year.
[597] They knew.
[598] We just have a drive in us.
[599] We're going to take as long as we need to.
[600] We're going to do what we have to do.
[601] We're not going to be forced to do something that we don't want to do here.
[602] Well, and to that point, like, when the, when the Niners won the toss and got the ball, the chief's like, fine, do it, you know, do what you got to do.
[603] The ball is yours.
[604] They ran off, Mojones ran off the field, say they wanted it, fine, take it.
[605] So now we know exactly what we need to do.
[606] And again, I just think that's, that's Andy, that's Patrick preparing every situation, much in the same way, Bill and Tom used to do the same thing in New England.
[607] Who has the most pressure to cut, like, of the coaches and the quarter, out there that haven't won a Super Bowl, whether it's Kyle Shanahan, whether it's Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, who is the person with the most amount of pressure to get it done?
[608] I think it might be Lamar because...
[609] I think it has to be, right?
[610] Because no matter what happens in the regular season this year, right?
[611] No matter what happens, they're going to say, okay, fine, now do it.
[612] Like, you know, I'm not a believer that wins and losses are quarterback stats.
[613] So I preface it this way.
[614] With Lamar Jackson as the starting quarterback, the Ravens are two and five in the post -stop.
[615] season.
[616] With Patrick Mahomes as a starting quarterback, the Chiefs have more Super Bowl wins, three, than Lamar Jackson's Ravens have playoff wins, two.
[617] And oh, by the way, the Chief's record is 15 and three in the postseason.
[618] And there's only one active quarterback that can claim his team has beaten Patrick Mahomes in the postseason.
[619] And that's Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
[620] The other tour are to Tom Brady.
[621] Well, it depends if you believe is Tom Brady is done.
[622] I mean.
[623] Well, I don't think Tom knows that he's done.
[624] Let's be honest.
[625] He keeps saying, I got something for you.
[626] Well, then stop this other crap and come back and play.
[627] It is amazing.
[628] I'm tired of it.
[629] It is amazing.
[630] The only guy that could beat that guy, Mahomes, was a 39 or 40 -year -old Tom Brady with the bucks.
[631] Yeah.
[632] Unbelievable.
[633] Unbelievable.
[634] But you think Mahomes is better.
[635] I can tell.
[636] I think he's going to go down as the greatest player of all time.
[637] Wow.
[638] I mean, you look at the numbers between their first six years or first seven years of starters.
[639] He's blowing Brady out of the war.
[640] It's crazy to think that the expectation to be the best ever is you need to win seven.
[641] See, I don't think it's ever going to happen.
[642] No, but like the crazier part is it could happen with Patrick Mahomes.
[643] He's what, 27?
[644] Right, he could do it.
[645] If he wins this one, and no one's ever done it, and that's the hardest thing about it.
[646] You know, like, no one's ever done it.
[647] He's got four before 30.
[648] Yeah.
[649] I mean, that's crazy.
[650] Is what, like maybe 12, 13 years left to get three?
[651] And you know he wants to play that long.
[652] Yeah.
[653] He has to get to 8th, though, I think.
[654] Like 7 -7.
[655] Push goes to Brady, I feel like.
[656] No, because Mahomes is winning in all those stat categories, too.
[657] Yeah, but he won with Belichick and then went to Tampa.
[658] The team was loaded, though.
[659] And then they added in Tony.
[660] Brown and Gronk.
[661] It's like, here, just do no wrong.
[662] Trey, thank you.
[663] Welcome home.
[664] Thank you.
[665] It's good.
[666] Your home is football.
[667] My home is with you, Stee.
[668] Oh, thank you.
[669] Don't forget this.
[670] We'll see you.
[671] Don't look now, but Stu and I are going to do some nasty stuff later.
[672] Yes.
[673] We'll see you hovering around football later today.
[674] Likely.

[694] Hovering around football.
[695] That's what we're going to run into today, though, right?
[696] Like, that's just going to be everywhere.
[697] We're in this corner of the parking lot, right?
[698] But everywhere else in the stadium, that's what's going on.
[699] Yeah, I mean...
[700] Football's back.
[701] I love this feeling.
[702] This is my first opening night.
[703] Is it really?
[704] It is.
[705] I'm so excited.
[706] Congratulations.
[707] And especially here, too, like, I don't feel like everywhere you get fans out at 9 o 'clock in the morning grilling the biggest stakes I've ever seen.
[708] Nine o 'clock is such an undersell.
[709] Like, you guys pulled in here, like, 5 .50, 5 .30 in the morning.
[710] When we pulled in at 7 in the morning, there was already a line 50 deep of cars.
[711] And the parking lots are not going to open for hours.
[712] And they just pulled out their tailgating tents and set them up in the line there.
[713] They had special tailgating tents made for parking in front of a certain gate before they're allowed in.
[714] Oh, I did a hit on a KC radio station this morning after our show.
[715] And they said there were people that went to the Royals game last night.
[716] and just stayed.
[717] Wow.
[718] Like, just stayed in the parking lot that exists between the two of them.
[719] Yeah, I know.
[720] He's probably save on parking that way.
[721] How's that allowed?
[722] I have no idea.
[723] It seems like they're pretty fast and loose with the fan rules here as long as everybody just, you know, as long as they're rooting for the chiefs.
[724] Why are you such a stickler for the rules?
[725] Well, you know, without rules, there's chaos.
[726] You know, me. You don't like chaos.
[727] You want to introduce your game to go like?
[728] Oh, you want to play a new game, Mike?
[729] Yeah, I'd love to.
[730] New season?
[731] New games.
[732] Wow.
[733] We already debuted a little.
[734] bit earlier.
[735] Don't look now with your dad.
[736] He was great.
[737] Very excited game.
[738] He did not look.
[739] He did not.
[740] He followed sun, it's opening night.
[741] That's probably what it is.
[742] He's also sitting next to me. God bless football I'm all right.
[743] So, we have a new game.
[744] It's called Winners and Losers, presented by Smyranoff, the world's number one vodka.
[745] Please drink responsibly.
[746] Like Smyranoff.
[747] You're excited to play winners and losers?
[748] I am excited to play winners and losers, especially since no one's won or lost yet.
[749] Well, wow.
[750] Or have they?
[751] You didn't let me finish, or have them?
[752] So you would think.
[753] Now, remember, winners and losers is not exclusive to the NFL.
[754] This is God bless football so college can be involved here or we could just be commenting on individual situations.
[755] Is someone a winner or are they a loser?
[756] Now this is how I think we should do it and Stugats and I have been budding heads on this.
[757] I think that we should all present a winner or a loser.
[758] Stugats wants me to present people to you and say, is this a person a winner or a loser?
[759] Which way would you like us to do it, Mike?
[760] Something we should have figured out before we started on the fly.
[761] That's how we do it here.
[762] This is taking you guys behind the curtain.
[763] Yeah.
[764] God bless football universe.
[765] So Billy, you decide here.
[766] I think we present winners and losers.
[767] Now, for your winner or loser, it could be the winner of the NFC West.
[768] Right.
[769] It could be the loser of the NFC West.
[770] It could be the winner of the MVP award.
[771] It could be the loser of the college football weekend.
[772] So here's an example.
[773] So how many winners, how many losers?
[774] As many as we can do in 10 minutes.
[775] And what does Gojo do?
[776] Does he have to present us with a winner?
[777] Well, he's here.
[778] He's participating.
[779] Yeah, I'm going to go last year.
[780] I'm going to soak it up.
[781] I'm going to come in and back cleanup.
[782] The reason I was suggesting the other one, not to get too bogged down with semantics was it keeps him more involved in the second.
[783] No, he's going to be involved.
[784] He's involved.
[785] Because, like, I can present a winner or a loser, and then there can be comment on the winner or the loser.
[786] Yeah, exactly.
[787] He gets it.
[788] He does.
[789] You're right, Bill.
[790] You're not getting it today.
[791] I know what's going on.
[792] Are you okay?
[793] Football starting here.
[794] I know, but you're not like, we're getting like a big game right now.
[795] I apologize.
[796] No, no. It's on me for not getting what we're doing.
[797] Here's what he's going to tell you.
[798] I did two hours of show already today, which you did as well.
[799] Oh, yeah.
[800] Yeah.
[801] Yeah, but he gets the game and I don't know.
[802] Yeah, that's true.
[803] And he did a KFC hit.
[804] I don't know if you, or KC hit.
[805] I don't know if you heard that earlier.
[806] Yeah, I know mixed in another one.
[807] I wish it was a KM.
[808] I've done a KFC.
[809] He would have preferred.
[810] Mike Yee.
[811] Mike Yee's favorite is.
[812] I've done it.
[813] Finger looking good.
[814] Not a sponsor yet.
[815] So former Iowa punter, Torrey Taylor, was drafted in the fourth round by the Bears.
[816] Right.
[817] You're going to tell us if he's a winner or a loser?
[818] After getting drafted, he was texted.
[819] by Caleb Williams, who, as you know, was the first pick in the draft by the Bears, and said, we won't be needing much of you.
[820] That happened.
[821] Tori Taylor.
[822] I think winner.
[823] Well, especially because they ended up needing him in the preseason.
[824] Like, Tori Taylor was a little bit of a star of the show in the preseason.
[825] Yeah, right, but he's talking regularly.
[826] Big loud American puns.
[827] How do we think that's going to go for Caleb?
[828] Is he going to be a winner or loser this year, Mike?
[829] I think he's going to be a winner this year.
[830] He's a winner just for saying that.
[831] Honestly, that is true.
[832] Or texting that.
[833] How about this?
[834] Define what a winner for Caleb Williams as this year.
[835] Okay.
[836] I can do that for you if you'd like.
[837] Please.
[838] Caleb Williams needs, has a very low hurdle to clear in terms of like Bears rookie quarterbacks, right?
[839] He needs to throw 2 ,200 yards and 10 touchdowns.
[840] That's all he needs to do to set franchise records.
[841] Those would be Bears record for rookie records.
[842] Those are bear quarterback rookie records.
[843] What?
[844] 2200 yards.
[845] I mean, this is the franchise that's not had a 4 ,000 yard passer ever in its history.
[846] Did they grab Jay Cutler, though?
[847] This is a Denver.
[848] So you know, that is a worse season than Bryce Young had last year, which I think a lot of people thought was a disappointing season for a number one pick.
[849] So all he has to do is do slightly better.
[850] And the Bears will then think, oh my God, we found our franchise quarterback because this is just kind of what happens with them, right?
[851] And then the Bears, all they have to do is not fire their head coach after his first season.
[852] And then they will break that record of firing their head coach after drafting a quarterback in the first round, which they've done the last two times with Kyle Orden and Jim McBant.
[853] No, with Mitch Trubisky.
[854] Wow.
[855] Oh, yeah, Big Buff Mitch.
[856] Wow.
[857] You can't prepare.
[858] Damn, Billy.
[859] It's a winner or loser?
[860] Who?
[861] Caleb Williams or Tori Taylor?
[862] We'll do one at a time.
[863] I'm going to go I'm going to go winner for both.
[864] I think getting brought in to a good city in Chicago.
[865] You're Troy Taylor, like, you were the star last year at Iowa.
[866] Like, you were Mr. Punter.
[867] It's going to give you more time to potentially go back and do autograph signings around there.
[868] There's some relief there.
[869] He's just up like plenty.
[870] There was too much pressure on him.
[871] He got out at the right time.
[872] He did.
[873] Oh, his stock would have fallen out today this week.
[874] 40 points?
[875] Yeah.
[876] Unreal.
[877] Do you think that gets fixed when Kirk grabs the helms again there?
[878] So, like I said, I was calling out McNamaran that offense and I said, hey, do it when Kirk Ferrence is on the sunlight.
[879] I know.
[880] It gets back and like, listen, guys.
[881] That's not what we do here.
[882] I don't know who let you think.
[883] He was embarrassed by it.
[884] Oh, he was at home beside himself.
[885] I'm sure, absolutely beside himself.
[886] Rare.
[887] They were the loser that week in his eyes.
[888] They won by 40.
[889] What cost?
[890] They sold a piece of their soul.
[891] This is Iowa football.
[892] Guys, we only like to win by a field goal.
[893] And we only like to score a field goal.
[894] We only like to have our specialists and defensive players score offensively.
[895] Strictly forbidden.
[896] Sorry, Lucy.
[897] Yeah, I'll go winners for both of those guys.
[898] What about you guys?
[899] I can't say, first off, I think you're wrong with Caleb Williams because he has unreasonable expectations for a rookie quarterback, only because the team surrounding him is so damn good.
[900] Only because CJ Stroud existed last year and did exactly the thing that's now presented in front of Caleb.
[901] But CJ took guys that I didn't know if they were good and made them great.
[902] True.
[903] Right?
[904] True.
[905] Caleb has guys that are great.
[906] Hall of Fame great.
[907] DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, got Roma Duzzi, got a good defense.
[908] What he was drafted into was ranked number one over the past 25 years for a number one pick.
[909] And I think it was second in like top 12 picks overall.
[910] And the person that was ahead of him was Dante Colpepper, but that was like a cheat because he didn't play his first year with Randy Moss.
[911] Let me try one with Golick here.
[912] Win or a loser.
[913] Okay.
[914] Well, that's not how we do it, right?
[915] Marcus Freeman being recognized for all the right reasons, but really the wrong reasons.
[916] No one's talking about what a great coach he is.
[917] They're only talking about how damn good -looking he is.
[918] Winner or a loser?
[919] I'm going to go winner because I got this text this morning as it relates to that.
[920] Someone said, hey, my friend, buddy Ramon Foster, former offensive guard for the Steelers, college football fans usually mimic their head coaches when they win big, right?
[921] If I don't see droves of men from Notre Dame wearing Marcus Freeman, Lulu Lemon, thigh -fitting, bun -enhancing stretch pants, y 'all aren't real fans.
[922] So we heard from Jessica Smetana, who obviously has a Notre Dame connection as well, Marcus has his own fashion line, essentially.
[923] Like, they make clothes specifically for him that are not available to the public.
[924] And he, like, we've asked him about that in the past.
[925] And he just said, I just wear what they give me. But I do believe that is the case, because I've been looking to the bookstore for a while, shopping around, trying to find it.
[926] And it's not any of it.
[927] And honestly, from a fan standpoint, why would you want to wear what Marcus is wearing?
[928] It's not a good comparison.
[929] Correct.
[930] You're not going to look as good in it.
[931] Still winner, though.
[932] Hot coach, hot team winners.
[933] We'll see what happens with Notre Dame.
[934] There's always that one game.
[935] You know what I mean?
[936] Like, you look at the schedule like, where is it?
[937] No, but Billy, this is the game they usually lose.
[938] It was at Texas A &M.
[939] That's the game.
[940] And Gojo knows there.
[941] That's what I'm saying.
[942] We got over the hump.
[943] Right.
[944] We did it.
[945] We got over the hump.
[946] We have a double thank you for your service year for Notre Dame, Navy and Army.
[947] Are we going to disrespect our troops twice and blow them out?
[948] No, see, we respect.
[949] the troops by going out and playing with our best effort.
[950] Your dad says that all the time.
[951] Your dad says that?
[952] No, it's a bunch of BS.
[953] It is.
[954] We go out and you all, we stand with them when their alma mater plays after they stand with us.
[955] It's a beautiful moment.
[956] Mayweather and McGregor, you carry him to the fourth quarter, you keep it close, and then you know, you win by 10 at the end, you know?
[957] No, no, no. If you keep it close in the fourth quarter against the Service Academy's recipe for disaster, as someone that's still watching Navy's gigantic white fullback from 2010 run up and down the field and break every rushing record known to man. You don't want to let them hang around.
[958] I love what his dad told us one time.
[959] He goes, here's what we do when we played Army and Navy.
[960] When we tackled them, we would help them up.
[961] Yeah.
[962] Well, that helps.
[963] I mean, get out of you.
[964] There's nothing more demoralizing than hitting one of those guys as hard as you can and just watching them pop up and be like great hit next play.
[965] It's like Andrew Luck, but they're getting ready to serve our country.
[966] Right.
[967] But how about you let them win a game?
[968] I mean, no. Well, I mean, we didn't have to let them.
[969] They did.
[970] They beat us a couple times when I was there.
[971] God bless football, Joe.
[972] God bless football, Bill.
[973] Miguel.
[974] Have this football, Mikey?
[975] God bless football all of us.
[976] It is time for this week's edition of Studio Gouts, presented by Draft Kings.
[977] Stay tuned because you'll hear more about Draft Kings and all it has to offer throughout the show, Draft Kings, the crown is yours.
[978] I need to speak softly because I am doing this after the Kansas City Baltimore game from a hotel room in Kansas City at 1230 at night and there are people sleeping.
[979] In fact, they're banging on the walls of them.
[980] So I have to rip through these very quickly for Baltimore.
[981] is back.
[982] Oh, my God.
[983] Jeez, Ravens, classic.
[984] Anyway, college football, week two, five and three last week.
[985] Off to a good start.
[986] We go to Northwestern first.
[987] Went to him last week.
[988] They won, they covered.
[989] We go to them again.
[990] Northwestern minus two and a half taken on Duke.
[991] Northwestern wins.
[992] They cover.
[993] They win by seven points at home.
[994] We go to Syracuse.
[995] Sneaky good team.
[996] I've been telling you, they are plus three at home, taking on Georgia Tech, the rare two and O team after week one.
[997] Buy it up.
[998] A half point.
[999] Syracuse.
[1000] plus three and a half.
[1001] I don't know why I'm buying a half point.
[1002] I think Syracuse is good to win the game outright.
[1003] How about that?
[1004] They win at home 24 to 20.
[1005] We go to Memphis.
[1006] Mike Ryan tells me this might be a sneaky good team, the team that might make the playoffs.
[1007] I'm not certain if you told me that or not.
[1008] I think he did.
[1009] Anyway, Memphis, 19.
[1010] They're at home taking on Troy.
[1011] Memphis wins.
[1012] They cover.
[1013] They win by four Tuddies, 28 points at home.
[1014] Cincinnati, minus two.
[1015] Take it on Pitt.
[1016] The Bearcats win and cover Cincinnati by eight points over Pittsburgh.
[1017] We go to Iowa, Lucy, Cade McNamara.
[1018] Oh, my God, will he be able to do it with Kirk Ferrets on the sidelines?
[1019] We'll find out together.
[1020] Iowa, minus three.
[1021] Taking on Iowa State at home.
[1022] I'm taking the Hawkeyes here.
[1023] Buy it down a half point.
[1024] Iowa wins.
[1025] They cover.
[1026] They win by seven points at home.
[1027] Kansas, minus five at Illinois.
[1028] I think Kansas is sneaky good.
[1029] They win, they cover.
[1030] They win by 10 points on the road.
[1031] Colorado, ooh, this is going to be interesting.
[1032] You take it on Nebraska at Nebraska.
[1033] Buy it up a half point.
[1034] Colorado plus seven and a half.
[1035] Nebraska wins.
[1036] Colorado covers Nebraska by four points at home.
[1037] Big game of the weekend.
[1038] Oh, is it big?
[1039] Big schools, big brands, big implications.
[1040] Texas, minus seven at Michigan.
[1041] Buy it down a half point.
[1042] That's right, Texas.
[1043] I think Texas is the best team in the country.
[1044] They win at Michigan and they cover at Michigan.
[1045] Texas by 14 points on the road over the defending national champions.
[1046] NFL, week one.
[1047] You'll have to trust me. I took the Chiefs, I'm one and up.
[1048] Let's go to Chicago.
[1049] I think they're really good.
[1050] In fact, I picked them to go to the Super Bowl.
[1051] Oh my God, what was I thinking?
[1052] Anyway, minus three and a half.
[1053] They're at home.
[1054] They're taking on the Titans.
[1055] I think Caleb Williams is the real deal.
[1056] The Bears win.
[1057] They cover the Bears by 10 points over the Titans.
[1058] Bengals, 8 and a half.
[1059] Taking on the Patriots, buy it down a half.
[1060] The Patriots are bad.
[1061] I am so happy to be saying that.
[1062] Bad.
[1063] Bengals, minus 8 at home.
[1064] Bengals win.
[1065] They cover by 17 points.
[1066] Dolphins minus 3.
[1067] Take it on the Jaguars.
[1068] Dolphids win.
[1069] They cover dolphins by 14 points.
[1070] At home.
[1071] Giants plus two.
[1072] Ticket on the Vikings.
[1073] Sam Darnold.
[1074] What?
[1075] Anyway, giants, getting two points.
[1076] They're going to win.
[1077] They're going to cover the spread.
[1078] The Giants by 4 .5.
[1079] points over the Vikings.
[1080] We go to Cleveland.
[1081] It's an interesting game.
[1082] Dallas plus two and a half take it on the Browns.
[1083] Buy it up a half point.
[1084] Dallas plus three.
[1085] I don't know why I keep doing this when I think the team's going to win anyway.
[1086] Dallas beats Cleveland.
[1087] They win by 10 points on the road.
[1088] The bucks take it on Washington.
[1089] Bucks minus three at home.
[1090] Buy it down to two and a half.
[1091] The bucks win.
[1092] They cover the bucks by 10 points.
[1093] Chargers minus three.
[1094] Take it on the Raiders.
[1095] By that down a half point, Chargers win.
[1096] They cover Jim Harbaugh's first game with the Chargers, Chargers, by 14 points at home.
[1097] And finally, big game of the weekend, Jets at Niners, Monday Night Football, Jets getting four and a half points on the road.
[1098] I picked the Jets to go to the Super Bowl.
[1099] Jets bear Super Bowl.
[1100] Can you imagine?
[1101] Anyway, the Jets are going to win this game outright.
[1102] It's plus four and a half.
[1103] The Jets are winning by a field goal.
[1104] Those are the picks, everyone.
[1105] Good love.
[1106] Let's do you guys.
[1107] Billy?
[1108] Game of inches.
[1109] That's what we like to say around here.
[1110] It's a game of centimeters.
[1111] It's a game of inches.
[1112] What we say in the Midwest.
[1113] Worthy's good, huh?
[1114] I mean.
[1115] So is likely.
[1116] Oh, likely is good.
[1117] What were the bills thinking?
[1118] Well, explain that because you have been on this today, and you're right, by the way.
[1119] But the bills essentially handed the Kansas City Chiefs, the team they're trying to overcome.
[1120] in the AFC, they handed them a fast wide receiver who's really good.
[1121] Who they could have used, who they needed on their team.
[1122] Yes.
[1123] Let me play counterpoint really quick.
[1124] Oh, point counterpoint.
[1125] Is that kind of guy if he's not on a team like the Chiefs?
[1126] I understand what you're saying, yes.
[1127] If he goes to like the Panthers, is he still that guy?
[1128] But we're not doing that.
[1129] We're saying he could have been a Buffalo Bill.
[1130] All right.
[1131] So Stugats and I were walking around the.
[1132] concourse here in the Midwest.
[1133] We were talking about how he's going to be good, but also he's incredible as like a fourth option.
[1134] Yeah.
[1135] Yeah.
[1136] Listen, you're not wrong, but man, he was fun to watch.
[1137] He's so quick.
[1138] Oh, no, he's so quick.
[1139] It was such a great way to start the season.
[1140] Let's start because we just came from the game.
[1141] We're sitting in a hotel lobby, by the way.
[1142] And we just came from the game.
[1143] Next to a great escalator.
[1144] So I have maintained forever that Arrowhead, just aesthetically, it's so pleasing when you see it on television for me it was even better being there in person and I gotta tell you I feel like I'm part of the Chiefs Kingdom how about that?
[1145] You want to play a game real quick?
[1146] Why are you always playing games?
[1147] I know we're tired I know Billy we just watched an amazing game like why do we have to play a game after we watched an amazing game?
[1148] You're gonna like this game.
[1149] Okay, what is it?
[1150] It's called the season ended today.
[1151] Oh, I want to play that game.
[1152] Oh yeah, we gotta play that game.
[1153] It's the game I always want to play.
[1154] Yeah, but what do you guys think of Aaron?
[1155] Right.
[1156] I loved it.
[1157] I thought it was great.
[1158] And also, are we going to say this out loud or is this a little secret?
[1159] Or is this just between us, the listeners here?
[1160] Yeah.
[1161] So you got to say, it's a secret.
[1162] We're going to share with the audience.
[1163] You're walking around saying, people in Miami do not care about football as much.
[1164] Not the way Kansas City does.
[1165] This is it quite.
[1166] There's a quiet.
[1167] Not as much as we do here in Kansas City.
[1168] Kansas City cares about football.
[1169] More than we care about anything.
[1170] Yeah.
[1171] Yeah.
[1172] Would they care about it if they had back -to -back championships?
[1173] I think they would.
[1174] I think they would.
[1175] It's really easy to care about something when you're really good at it.
[1176] You know, I'm not going to allow this Midwest slander.
[1177] I'm not going to allow you to say that we're fake fans here and that it's just that we're a bunch of front runners.
[1178] Not going to happen.
[1179] Right.
[1180] Not on my watch.
[1181] Not on your watch.
[1182] I mean, how dare you question the people in the heartland of America?
[1183] Yeah.
[1184] How dare you?
[1185] I tipped my hat to members of the military.
[1186] I'd say at least eight times.
[1187] I spent more time tipping my cap to members of the military than I did watching the football game.
[1188] That's all they do here.
[1189] And I loved it.
[1190] We looked.
[1191] Y, F, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, look around, not a cap on a head.
[1192] Yep, you don't have to tell them.
[1193] Everybody knew you just stand up and everybody knows.
[1194] You turn around, you look up at the big drum, you tip your cap.
[1195] Unbelievable fans.
[1196] On the flip side, it's really creepy that a lot of people go to great lengths to look like Andy Reid around here.
[1197] I don't know that they're going to great legs.
[1198] It's just a natural thing.
[1199] There's just a bunch of Andy Reid walking around.
[1200] It's not like the guy at the Super Bowl that's dressed like it.
[1201] It's not the fake Andy Reid.
[1202] It's not over the top.
[1203] It's not a costume.
[1204] You're right.
[1205] They actually cut their hair and they groove their mustache to look like Andy Reed.
[1206] The Walrith.
[1207] Sex sells.
[1208] I think the Walvers was Craig Stadler.
[1209] He's right.
[1210] That's a good lie.
[1211] So, the season ended today.
[1212] The Chiefs?
[1213] Chiefs.
[1214] Ravens.
[1215] By the way, we watch this game.
[1216] They're so close those two teams.
[1217] Oh, my God.
[1218] I mean, they faced each other in the AFC championship game.
[1219] Yes, they're very close.
[1220] Lamar Jackson's very good.
[1221] He's scary.
[1222] But here's the thing with Lamar Jackson.
[1223] This is why he gets criticized.
[1224] So the last play of the game, inches, game of centimeters.
[1225] We know that.
[1226] And likely is unbelievable.
[1227] But the play before that, Mahomes always completes that pass.
[1228] I think it was Zay Flowers.
[1229] Wide open.
[1230] Wide open.
[1231] In the end zone.
[1232] I don't know how Lamar, being a two -time MVP and being the best athlete on a field full of world -class athletes cannot make that throw.
[1233] The likely play will be seen over and over again.
[1234] All season, we'll be talking about it.
[1235] We'll be looking at it.
[1236] Oh, it was so close.
[1237] But honestly, it shouldn't have even happened because they should have completed the past before.
[1238] Yes.
[1239] Billy, what he is saying is if the season ended today, the most important play wasn't the last play, it was the play before the last play.
[1240] God bless football.
[1241] Yeah, it's back.
[1242] Big game tomorrow in Brazil.
[1243] Oh.
[1244] Or tonight, I'm sorry.
[1245] I don't know.
[1246] Billy and I haven't slept in four days.
