[32] I grew up in a house that I believe was haunted by the spirit of my dear loving grandmother.

[33] And then, you know, I've had several ghostly experiences.

[34] over the years, and then cut to 2019.

[35] I started doing this very podcast because I wanted to dig a little deeper.

[36] I wanted to just learn a little bit more about this stuff and talk to more people that have also had these kinds of experiences that they can't explain.

[37] It's been a journey for me, both in my personal life and spiritually and my thoughts on all this stuff.

[38] I started out not knowing a whole lot, but I had a very open mind.

[39] and now I consider myself a paranormal enthusiast, investigator, researcher, all that kind of stuff.

[40] On this show, I talk to mainly comedians, but also some of your favorite celebrities I have on people that dedicate their lives to the study of the paranormal.

[41] And I even have on you, the listeners.

[42] Now recently, I took a three -month hiatus from the show.

[43] I was trapped in a TV like Carol Ann from the Poltergeist.

[44] It was crazy.

[45] And then I was brought back to the light by exactly right.

[46] And honey, this feels like the perfect home for what I do.

[47] And it is now a haunted home over here.

[48] Now, like my favorite murder, this podcast gets deep.

[49] We talk about death.

[50] But ultimately, it is a comedy show.

[51] for people that like things a little bit weird.

[52] My approach to the paranormal might not be the most orthodox or highly intellectual, but at this point, I consider what I'm doing here a research project, okay?

[53] This podcast is like one big public survey of people and their beliefs and their experiences with the other side.

[54] I like to talk to people from all walks of life.

[55] Sometimes I even on this show talk to straight cisgender men.

[56] Now, as a paranormal investigator, I am a nosy bitch, okay?

[57] I like to get into dead people's business.

[58] I like to laugh.

[59] I definitely like to view things through a queer lens.

[60] I try to be unbiased the best that I can.

[61] My main belief for this stuff is it is, called the unknown for a reason.

[62] Because it's unknown.

[63] Nobody actually knows what any of this stuff is, and that is the fun of it.

[64] I like to leave it up to you, the listeners, to sort of make up your own mind on any of this.

[104] Georgia, I have wanted to talk to you for so long.

[105] You and Karen are such inspirations to me and what I do.

[106] And I've always admired the way that you guys keep things fun and funny, but also like you're dealing with stuff that is macaw and serious.

[107] And do you have any advice for me on that?

[108] Whatever I say to someone, when they say what kind of podcast is it, and I say true crime and comedy, and I always have to say, but the comedy is not about the cases.

[109] Comedy is that Karen and I exchange, you know, funny quips about ourselves, about life, about the horribleness that happens in life, not about the victim, never about the crime that's affected so many people and, you know, devastated so many people.

[110] So I think you stay funny and you stay laughing, but take what's serious, serious.

[111] And I think that that'll just come naturally because you're an empathetic person.

[112] Right, which I think people get it wrong a lot of the time when they're like, my task right now is to make jokes about dead people.

[113] And it's like, well, but we're not like making fun of dead people.

[114] That's not really.

[115] No. Now, there is a difference between murder and paranormal.

[116] and there's a lot less fact, and it's a little bit more open to interpretation and that sort of thing here.

[117] You've got it good.

[119] Yeah, I imagine that what you guys deal with is not easy to keep fun and lighthearted, but somehow you figured it out.

[120] Well, you figured out the topic, because when we do have, like, paranormal, like, ghost stories that we talk about or, like, anything old -timey, it's just, it's easier to talk about when it's old -timey.

[121] And I feel like so much paranormal stuff is kind of old -timey.

[122] So you just pick the right path, is what I'm saying, and I'm jealous.

[123] It's definitely old -timey, which makes me, it makes me think very skeptically.

[124] I always try to approach this stuff very skeptically.

[125] And I'm sort of my approach is always like, let's weigh out all the options that could be explanations.

[126] And if we can't find anything, then that's the good stuff.

[127] But so many of these iconic stories are.

[128] from like not now.

[129] And I'm always like, why are they from now?

[130] Is it because back then people were like, oh, something weird happened.

[131] It must have been Satan.

[132] Or it must have been spirits.

[133] I don't know.

[134] It does seem like, you know, the way past like 100 years ago, even, you know, 50 years ago, was way much more susceptible to like paranormal stuff.

[135] People were way more open to spiritual, you know, the crossover with spirit.

[136] spirituality and real life, which I think it's true.

[137] Like you're on your phone.

[138] You can explain away so much now with technology.

[139] And actually something happened to me not that long ago that I just want to explain away with technology because it was so freaky.

[140] Okay.

[141] Well, me personally, I don't know anything about technology.

[142] So all of it to me is paranormal.

[143] Like literally, if you think about what is Wi -Fi, I don't know what that is.

[144] And so like I imagine that a hundred years ago, if you tried to explain that.

[145] They would be like, yeah, that's superpowers.

[146] Okay, so what happened to you?

[147] Okay, so we moved to this new house, and it's old.

[148] I mean, it's L .A. old, so it's like from the 30s, you know what I mean?

[149] But it has all the elements of what would think a haunted L .A. house would look like.

[150] It's got the creepy basement.

[151] Okay.

[152] In a couple of rooms, there's like a panic, an old panic button.

[153] I guess there was like an old -timey panic alarm in there.

[154] It's just got these elements, you know?

[155] Like a ghost child would live in here.

[156] Totally.

[157] Do you know the history?

[158] It's not interesting.

[159] Yeah.

[160] It's just like people owned it.

[161] See, but that's the thing.

[162] Sometimes the good step is never recorded.

[163] Right.

[164] Who knows what's happened?

[165] Or like the ground it was built on.

[166] Like what the fuck happened there?

[167] You know what I mean?

[168] Exactly.

[169] We stole all this land from these indigenous people.

[170] That could be it.

[171] Yeah.

[172] But I don't totally believe or want to believe in ghosts, so I was like, this house isn't haunted.

[173] And we'll know pretty quickly if it is.

[174] So one night, Vince, my husband was out, and I got into bed.

[175] It was kind of, it was like 11 o 'clock at night.

[176] And suddenly from downstairs, music starts blasting.

[177] And I was like, did I leave the TV on?

[178] What is that?

[179] Like getting up out of bed to check on something if it's haunted is like a horror movie.

[180] don't do.

[181] But I had to do it because there's music blasting from downstairs.

[182] What was the music?

[183] It was fucking the least scary music, thank God.

[184] It was Elton John.

[185] Oh, okay.

[186] Well, was it the bitch is back?

[187] Because that's a ghost song for sure.

[188] It's a ghost song for sure.

[189] It wasn't that.

[190] It was some, I can't remember what song it was exactly, but it was like a happy, go lucky song and wasn't like terrible.

[191] So I'd go down and in my living room, the sonos are like, you know, wireless A speaker is just on, blasting Elton John for no fucking reason.

[192] I don't even have it on my phone, the app on my phone.

[193] Yeah, that would be a ghost.

[194] Right?

[195] And I go over to unplug it, and I'm like, if I unplug this and it keeps playing, I'm moving out tonight.

[196] So I had like slowly unplugged it and it stopped playing, thank God.

[197] And it hasn't happened again.

[198] But technology, right?

[199] Like someone, a neighbor, the Wi -Fi, that mysterious Wi -Fi got switched, right?

[200] and they wanted to listen to some out and John, let's pretend it's that.

[201] Because otherwise, we have a ghost.

[202] I don't know.

[203] Yeah, I think it's a ghost.

[204] You caught yourself there for a second.

[205] You said, you don't believe or you don't want to believe.

[206] Yeah.

[207] Tell me about this.

[208] Well, I don't want to live my life walking to the bathroom every night, being scared out of my mind to pee in the middle of the night.

[209] Like, that to me is just not how I want to live my life.

[210] And how I used to live my life as a kid, I think all of us, you know, we're scared of the idea of ghosts as kids.

[211] I still do.

[212] I have no reason to believe that my place is haunted.

[213] And I do get up to pee every single night and I look around.

[214] Yeah.

[215] Or like you feel like you're being chased to the bathroom kind of or something.

[216] So stupid.

[217] I just don't want to live like that.

[218] And I easily could.

[219] So I've told my, and I also think that like people who are more open to it are more susceptible to weird things happening.

[220] Because I kind of do believe in the supernatural.

[221] So to not have it happen.

[222] to me. I just block it out altogether.

[223] Here's the good news for you.

[224] And I've talked about this a billion times on the show, but you have a podcast that a lot of people listen to.

[225] Ghost don't want to be on a podcast.

[226] I have tried so hard because they need the content.

[227] They're not going to be interested.

[228] They go, no, not her.

[229] She's going to talk about us.

[230] Maybe they haven't caught up to the technology And they don't even, like, they don't know that they should be haunting influencers and podcasters because that's, like, how they actually get, you know, those brand deals and that attention.

[231] Yeah.

[232] And the other thing, too, is, like, having cats, like, they'll tell you when something is off.

[233] Oh, yeah.

[234] So if my cats are sleeping happily at night and not, like, freaking out about something invisible in the corner, then I'm fine.

[235] If one of my cats was staring at the wall meowing and, like, freaked out, I wouldn't get up to pee.

[236] You know what I mean?

[237] No, that's when you burn the house to the ground and leave.

[238] Right, right.

[239] I feel like I'm just like just, like, justifying so many reasons to not believe in it because I, because I'm scared of it, you know?

[240] I try so hard to not view this stuff as scary.

[241] Like, so what if there is, like, some old lady that loved that house and she just hangs out and wants to watch you go to the bathroom?

[242] Big deal.

[243] She's not creepy.

[244] Yeah.

[245] I'm not, you know, when I sage the house, and I kind of have this thing where I tell the house I'm here and this is my intention is when I first move into a new house or apartment.

[246] My intention is to be happy, like be happy and love this house because I love the old LA architecture.

[247] Like I've lived in the old apartments and my grandma had an old house, you know.

[248] And so it's just, I think my intentions with the house are good.

[249] And I do think that the history of the house is kind of absorbed in the walls.

[250] And And time isn't linear, so maybe all the, you know, like that, what was that movie with Nicole Kidman?

[251] The others.

[252] The authors.

[253] Like, that to me is a possibility that we're, like, living on the same plane of existence as all of time.

[254] And you're the ghost.

[255] And I'm the ghost.

[256] So I should be polite, not following people to the bathroom.

[257] You're the one always talking about murder.

[258] Like, I don't know about this girl.

[259] Yeah.

[260] That's true.

[261] That's true.

[262] So tell me about.

[263] your first experience that you believe could have been paranormal.

[264] Okay.

[265] Well, I have this handful of experiences that happened when I was a kid.

[266] I want to say like...

[267] Ooh, give them all to me. Okay.

[268] It was like between like five years old and like, you know, eight or so.

[269] And I've kind of just like carried them with me throughout my life without being able to explain what really happened.

[270] But, you know, explaining them away because I don't believe in a ghost showing up.

[271] I don't know.

[272] It's just weird.

[273] Okay, so the first one.

[274] And this is Orange County?

[275] Unfortunately, yes, it's Orange County.

[276] Probably the least haunted place.

[277] Which part?

[278] Irvine.

[279] Okay.

[280] So, like, it doesn't even go back farther than, like, 79.

[281] So, like, I don't think ghosts were hanging out in the orange groves.

[282] See, but that's what people, that's a misconception, though.

[283] Like, we always think that old equals ghosts, which, you know, to me, a ghost has been around for a long time.

[284] They're probably exhausted.

[285] They would, why would that?

[286] make something more haunted.

[287] Like, that's so, it's a long time to be a ghost.

[288] So I think that a lot of times, it's like, it could be, you know, it could not even be a dead person.

[289] It could just be something.

[290] It could be spirit.

[291] Something that, you know, wafted over from Disneyland randomly.

[292] I don't know.

[293] Well, do you also, I don't know, I kind of subscribe to the idea that certain people are more susceptible, because I have a friend who, like, every house she lives and everywhere she goes, there's something weird happening and the electronics always fail and go wonky and stuff and it's just like, well, she's haunted.

[294] She's a conduit to the spirit world more than most people are because she's open to it.

[295] Totally.

[296] Well, or it could just be that she's got magic powers of some sort.

[297] And I'm not even like joking when I say that.

[298] I think that a lot of times polter guys are from what people study.

[299] The consensus is it's more so telekinesis coming out of one person.

[300] Yeah.

[301] And people think, oh, it's the house.

[302] Well, when you keep moving to a different place, you know, you got telekinesis or something, Carrie, get it together, or you're not going to get your deposit back because you're throwing furniture around all the time.

[303] Right.

[304] Because blood's coming out of the wall all of a sudden.

[305] Like, what the fuck?

[306] Yeah, I like that idea.

[307] I mean, even just if you think about it's not a ghost, it's just like leftover energy.

[308] from a person's life or from, you know, a dynamic thing that happened if you want to, like, look into what the soul is and what it means.

[309] And I don't know.

[310] I sound wackadoo to myself, but I also, like, stand by it.

[311] It's like when someone wears too much cologne and you, like, go on a date with them and then you come home and you're like, they're in my nose.

[312] They're, like, still here.

[313] And I do think that that energetically can happen as well.

[314] Yeah.

[315] And if you have a better sense of spell, you're going to be more attuned to that stink.

[316] There it is.

[317] That follows you around.

[318] Oh, my God, we figured it out, I think.

[319] But also, like, I think it can be from the living.

[320] Like, I think that, like, some bad energy, someone gets into a fight or something, that can stick around.

[321] Totally.

[322] Well, they say that when you are near someone who's going through a stressful time, you absorb some of, you know, their pheromones, they're stressed out pheromones.

[323] It's just because that's how we learn to survive, you know, as animals, is to be attuned to what's going on around us.

[324] If someone else is freaking out, then maybe, you know, it's because there's a lion close by and we need to, you know, I mean, I'm talking about thousands of years ago, obviously, but suck if there's a lion, you know, around now.

[325] So you kind of are attuned to that if you're an empathetic person, if you're not a sociopath, you know.

[326] And the way that we've evolved, we ignore those things a lot of the times.

[327] Totally.

[328] Other animals are like, something bad's here.

[329] I'm getting out or whatever.

[330] And we're just like, something bad's here.

[331] Eh, whatever.

[332] You know who doesn't ignore those things is children.

[333] Because they don't know yet how to process the world.

[334] So they don't know they're not supposed to be believing in past lives and ghosts and, you know, all the creepy things that kids say.

[335] Yeah.

[336] We get a lot of hometowns of like, my daughter knew my grandmother as her imaginary friend and had never met.

[337] I love that shit so much.

[338] Which is why, so the things that happened to me as a kid, I'm kind of like maybe my imagination was more susceptible.

[339] So the first thing that happened was I was like five years old.

[340] I'm laying in bed at night in my bunk bed.

[341] And we had like, you know, mirrored closets that, what it's it called when they push?

[342] Like a sliding door?

[343] Like a sliding.

[344] We had like a sliding door closet here.

[345] And I'm lying in bed like just kind of thinking at late at night.

[346] It's dark, staring.

[347] at the closet.

[348] I've always had insomnia.

[349] And this fucking closet opens just a little like a foot on its own.

[350] And I know it wasn't an animal because we didn't have cats yet because when I ran into my parents' room, my parents were still married and we didn't have cats until after my dad moved out around five years old.

[351] So it wasn't a cat or anything like that.

[352] So it just had opened by itself.

[353] Yeah, weird.

[354] And then a couple, maybe like when I was like six or seven, lying.

[355] in bed, again in my bunk bed on the top level, just kind of daydreaming or maybe I'd been reading or something.

[356] And then I see a figure pop up from like the side of the bed and like kind of just look to scare me. And I'm like, oh, that must be my brother because he was always fucking around.

[357] And I look down.

[358] First of all, the door is closed to my bedroom and my brother's not in the room.

[359] So I had seen and definitely saw a figure pop up and like, and it wasn't like fully form.

[360] formed figure.

[361] It was definitely like ghosty, you know, transparent.

[362] And I just totally couldn't explain it.

[363] And I still can't.

[364] There's no gas leak in the house.

[365] That's my first thing is, is there a fucking gas leak?

[366] Because then you're going crazy or, you know, do have a fever and your brain is playing tricks on you.

[367] Oh, my gosh.

[368] Okay.

[369] I don't like stuff when I'm in bed.

[370] The bed to me is like safe space.

[371] Bed and bathroom.

[372] Like it should be off limits always.

[373] But, oh, definitely.

[374] Okay.

[375] Well, I still remember getting the courage up to run to my parents' room that first time past the closet because I had to go down the stairs from my bunk bed and run out past the closet.

[376] And I just remember lying there being like, you can do this, you can do this, get out of here.

[377] Good for you, though.

[378] I didn't stop and save my sister and wake her up from below.

[379] I was like, let the ghost have her.

[380] Yeah.

[381] So do you recall your parents or anyone else in the family?

[382] also having experiences, or have they told you since?

[383] No, no one else has, but my mom always believed in it a lot.

[384] Like, she always encouraged the fact that, like, Georgia sees spirits.

[385] Isn't it creepy?

[386] Like, she was on board with it.

[387] And I think she believed in some stuff, like, she went to a psychic a few times and saying, like, if you make up a story about a stranger, like, half the time it's true, like the intuition is there and just kind of, she's got the woo -woo stuff, for sure, going on.

[388] And so she believed it.

[389] you have that?

[390] No, but I feel like maybe as a kid I was more susceptible to it.

[391] I feel like I'm good at reading people's emotions and tapping into that, but not, you know, and I like to question reality a lot.

[392] I think that's really fun, but I try so hard to have a scientific mind, you know, but it's fun.

[393] Like, who cares?

[394] I don't believe in astrology, but I'll still read my fucking horoscope.

[395] Literally same.

[396] I don't know about anything.

[397] And I just had a friend that was doing the whole, like, what time were you born?

[398] And, like, all of that.

[399] And I'm like, here we go.

[400] Let's do it.

[401] And I'm like, yeah, tell me everything about me. It did say that I'm not going to be famous.

[402] So I was like, I truly didn't even ask for whatever, but I'm interested in hearing about it.

[403] Yeah, exactly.

[404] And this will be a challenge for you to prove astrology wrong.

[405] You know what I mean?

[406] I always love a good challenge.

[407] Exactly.

[408] That's all this is.

[409] I check this shit every morning.

[410] And like, sometimes, here's the trick.

[411] Don't be too specific with it.

[412] Right.

[413] I'll have some where I'll wake up and it'll be like, today's the day.

[414] You're going to fall in love.

[415] Oh, my God.

[416] It all changes today.

[417] So enjoy.

[418] You're going to meet that special someone.

[419] It's like, just say I'm going to have a good day or something.

[420] And then I can go, wow, it was right.

[421] But like.

[422] Yeah, like vague.

[423] We want vague.

[424] Which I think is why it's so important to find the website.

[425] or the writer who gives the astrology readings that you like.

[426] Especially because it's free.

[427] Right.

[428] Now, these psychics that you pay for, like, that's a different story.

[429] I'm like, tell me what this person's going to look like that I'm going to fall in love with.

[430] Totally.

[431] And all of that.

[432] Have you been to a psychic?

[433] I haven't been to a psychic, but I've done my tarot cards a couple times.

[434] I like it.

[435] I think it's cool and exciting.

[436] But it's, you know, always been so vague that it's almost like I can't.

[437] pinpoint any one thing that I'm like supposed to do or should be living my life in this way because of it.

[438] But it is cool.

[439] And, you know, it's always positive when I do it.

[440] So that's good.

[441] Or, you know, I think it's just like the suggestion of like this card says you need to make a change in your life or a big change is coming.

[442] And like, you know, you know, internally if that's actually true.

[443] Like I think I went right before I was definitely going to break up with someone.

[444] And it was like a change is coming.

[445] And it's a positive change.

[446] And you should do it.

[447] And I was like, it's about breaking up with this person.

[448] And, like, kind of, you know, caused me to do it sooner than if I hadn't had that, probably.

[449] Yeah, I always like it when you're on the fence and you're like, well, you know, this thing is saying I should do it or not do it or whatever.

[450] Like, I think it's a fun little confirmation.

[451] Totally.

[452] I think it's the best time to go is when you're on the fence about something.

[453] And that's the good thing about Tara.

[454] Because I do like tarot.

[455] And I think that is a nice thing about it is that you can interpret.

[456] it, like, you know, different ways.

[457] And some people are really good with their intuition interpreting it accurately or whatever.

[458] But I'm into the tarot.

[459] I pull those things out when I'm like, what should I do?

[460] I'm sure stuff.

[461] That's great.

[462] I love that.

[463] I kind of want to do that, too, but I don't know how to read them.

[953] So along that line, Lochness Monster, would you put the same thoughts on all of those kinds of things?

[954] Ocean and lakes and waters to me are much creepier.

[955] Oh, yeah.

[956] Because, you know, we can't explore the depths of those things.

[957] So I would believe in Loch Ness Monster before Bigfoot for sure.

[958] And, you know, Karen would kill me if I say.

[959] said I don't believe in the Lachnest Monster because she loves him.

[960] So, yeah, I could see there being some large creatures down there that we don't know about.

[961] What about demons?

[962] Do you believe in that idea of a demon?

[963] No. No. I'm Jewish again.

[964] We don't have that.

[965] What about past lives?

[966] Now, that's something I totally want to believe in, for sure.

[967] And when little kids, like I said, when they have these memories, I don't know, a young age of incidents and details that they should have no knowledge about because their children and haven't experienced those things.

[968] Like, I just did a story about a kid who had all of these details about being a World War II fighter pilot that ended up being correct.

[969] And there's no reason for him to have known any of that stuff.

[970] And I think kids are more open to those things because they don't know it's impossible.

[971] No one's told them yet that that doesn't happen.

[972] It's not true.

[973] So, yeah, I think it's definitely a possibility.

[974] Do you think about what your past lives could have been?

[975] No, probably pretty typical, but I do think the people who are in your life now, you know, that people say, like, the people in your life now were in your life in a different way in your past lives.

[976] So, you know, your mother could have been your daughter, like that sort of thing.

[977] I do think there's, like, this connection to the people you hold dear in this lifetime.

[978] Mm -hmm.

[979] Okay.

[980] What about curses?

[981] I mean, that would suck if they're real.

[982] Sometimes you hear about these, like, famous, this family's cursed or this, you know, whatever.

[983] Right.

[984] This baseball team is cursed and stuff.

[985] I mean, I think it's all a state of mind.

[986] You know what I mean?

[987] Like, if you think you're cursed and only bad things happen to you, then you're only going to notice the bad things that happen to you or you're going to make decisions subconsciously that create those bad things or those unlucky things.

[988] Okay.

[989] I think I'm a pretty lucky person in general, but I, you know, I don't think it's because of fate or anything like that.

[990] I think things happen and I just keep tripping upwards.

[991] And I'm grateful for that, you know.

[992] So I think that that helps to be grateful.

[993] And then the curse won't happen because you're being, you know, you're looking at the beautiful things in life instead of the negative stuff.

[994] Oh, well, wasn't this a beautiful experience having you on?

[995] Yes.

[996] this was this was the opposite of a curse this was a blessing it really was oh my gosh thanks for doing this it was it was so good to be on i'm so fucking happy you're on exactly right now you fit in so perfectly i mean it's just huge and i'm thrilled well and i have so much to say about my experience so far which has been truly a dream with exactly right and i'm so glad I mean, I know that you and Karen know how great this network is, but just as someone that's new here, I just want you guys to know, like, you're doing a great job.

[997] The people that I'm working with here are phenomenal, and I feel like a star.

[998] Everyone's treating me like a star.

[999] Everyone is so excited about you.

[1000] And, yeah, we have the best, most amazing team at exactly right.
