[1] It's Friday, Cinco de Mayo, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
[2] Progressive Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner of St. Louis resigned on Thursday amid efforts by Missouri's Attorney General to remove her for neglect of her duties.
[3] The final straw for Gardner came in February when a teenage volleyball player lost both her legs after being struck by a car.
[4] The driver of the car was out on bond for armed robbery, and Gardner's office has been accused of badly botching the case.
[5] Anheuser -Busch is continuing to struggle with wholesalers and investors and is reportedly vying to convince them that the partnership with Dylan Mulvaney was insignificant.
[6] Daily Wire Culture reporter Megan Basham has more.
[7] First, the brewery sent a letter to wholesaler saying it was, quote, one single can given to one social media influencer and was not made for production or sale to the general public.
[8] This can is not a formal campaign or advertisement.
[9] Then on Thursday, Michelle Dukaris, the CEO of Anheuser -Busch's parent company in Bev, told investors that it was, again, quote, one can, one influencer, one post, and not a campaign.
[10] After that Instagram post, Anheuser -Busch lost some $5 billion in market value, while sales have plummeted 26%.
[11] A billionaire investor has reportedly purchased Jeffrey Epstein's notorious private islands in the Caribbean and plans to turn them into a luxury resort.

[13] Stephen DeKoff, founder of private equity firm Black Diamond Capital Management, bought the islands for $60 million, approximately half of their initial asking price.
[14] DeKoff told Forbes that he had never met Epstein and he had never been on the islands until after Epstein was found dead in a jail cell in 2019.
[15] DeKoff made the purchase through his investment firm, SD Investments LLC.
[16] He said in a press release that the plan is to build a C. state -of -the -art five -star world -class luxury 25 -room resort on the islands.
[17] More turmoil in the banking industry is sparking more concerns among Americans that their money may not be safe.
[18] A new poll by Gallup found that nearly half, 48 % of American adults say they are concerned about their money, including 19 % who are very worried and 29 % who are moderately worried.
[19] 30 % say they're not too worried, while 20 % are not worried at all.
[20] Russia has claimed that the U .S. was behind recent drone attacks on the Kremlin intended to take out Vladimir Putin.
[21] The U .S. immediately denied the claims, which were made by Kremlin's spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

[23] We're still trying to gather information about what happened, and we just don't have conclusive evidence one way or the other.
[24] One thing I can tell you for certain is that the United States was not involved in this incident in any way, contrary to Mr. Peskov's lies.
[25] And that's what they are, just lies.
[26] Scientists have discovered a massive black hole which is swallowing a star in what they call a forgotten part of the galaxy.
[27] The powerful black hole has been nicknamed Scary Barbie and the Purdue Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy who helped discover the phenomenon, said, quote, discoveries like this really open our eyes to the fact that we are still uncovering mysteries and exploring wonders in the universe.
[28] The coronation of King Charles III will take place tomorrow.
[29] The ceremony, which dates back more than a thousand years, will be held at Westminster Abbey at 6 a .m. Eastern Time.
[30] Charles is the 40th reigning monarch crowned at the famous church since 1066.
[31] The Colorado Education Association, the largest teachers' union in the state, passed a resolution condemning capitalism, stating in the resolution that, quote, capitalism is an opposition to fully addressing systemic racism, the school -to -prison pipeline, climate change, patriarchy, gender, and LGBTQ disparities, education inequality, and income inequality.
