[0] Hey, this is Daily Wire Editor -in -Chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe.

[1] It's Tuesday, September 27th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

[2] Hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall on the west coast of Florida on Thursday.

[3] Numerous counties in the Sunshine State have been given evacuation orders.

[4] Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has already declared a state of emergency, warning that the storm will be historic.

[5] In some areas, there will be catastrophic flooding.

[6] and life -threatening storm surge.

[7] Europe is looking into leaks in two Russian gas pipelines that have led to worries of possible sabotage.

[8] The development comes amid continuing energy shortages in the region.

[9] The New Orleans Police Department has turned to hiring civilians to fill staffing needs as it faces high rates of violent crime in the city.

[10] The department will hire up to 75 civilians to respond to selected calls.

[11] New Orleans mayoral candidate Laura Rodriguez expressed concern about the move during an interview on Fox and Friends on Tuesday.

[12] Resorting to hiring civilians to respond to crime scenes is alarming to the residents and should be alarming throughout the country.

[13] They came out and said that civilians will be responding to non -emergency calls that come in through 9 -1 -1.

[14] Pacific Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit against the U .S. Department of Education to block what it says is an illegal move to cancel billions of dollars in student loan debt.

[15] An attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation said in a press release, Congress did not authorize the executive branch to unilaterally cancel student debt.

[16] It's flagrantly illegal.

[17] The CBO estimates that the loan forgiveness will cost $400 billion.

[18] Planned Parenthood of Arizona asked a judge this week to immediately block the state's 1864 abortion ban from going into effect.

[19] The nation's largest abortion provider filed the request in Pima County Superior Court, arguing that the judge's recent court ruling created confusion around which of Arizona's two competing abortion laws should now be enforced.

[20] The Senate Appropriations Committee announced a 237 -page bill on Monday night that would keep the government funded until the middle of December.

[21] A new study published this week revealed trace amounts of COVID -vaccine MRNA was found in the breast milk of some lactating women.

[22] The peer -reviewed journal of the American Medical Association released the study to the public and is now issued, a warning for women breastfeeding infants younger than six months.

[23] And amid widespread backlash, the FBI has issued another statement about its arrest of a Catholic pro -life activist, stating, quote, no SWAT team or SWAT operators were involved.

[24] FBI agents knocked on the activist front door, identified themselves as FBI agents, and asked him to exit the residence.

[25] He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment.
