[110] I think that Andy would probably feel more comfortable wearing heavy clothing and heavy coats all the time, eating beer cheese soup, and not worrying about how you look or anything.
[111] You should just move up to Minnesota or something.

[113] Well, I've told you that, you know, Alaska, I am my as soon as I get my radio affiliate up there, I'm going up there.
[114] And if we buy Greenland, I will be the first one to migrate to Greenland and make that happen.
[115] But even during the 10 degree weather, I don't wear the heavy coats.
[116] I will still wear T -shirts all year long because it feels really good.
[117] So I don't wear heavy unless unless I'm snowboarding on the top of the mountain.

[130] I'm going on spring break with the kids looking forward to it.

[155] Speaking of cold weather places, right?
[156] Let's go to Chicago.
[157] Crime in Chicago, really bad.
[158] So we're going to do some year -to -date because we haven't covered year -to -date numbers in Chirac yet this year.
[159] And, Greg, I don't think we've done it on the MonsterCast either.
[160] No, we haven't.
[161] Okay, so final January totals, ladies and gentlemen, in Chicago.
[162] Heavily gun -controlled.
[163] Democrat for what?
[164] Well over a century.
[165] Democrat control.
[166] Shot and killed, 37.
[167] Shot and wounded a buck ten.
[168] That's 110 for you liberals.
[169] Total shot, a buck 47.
[170] Total homicides, 42.
[171] Shot and killed were 37.
[172] So there were five homicides in there that somebody was beaten to death by a gangbanger or bludgeoned or kicked or whatever the case may be, because that's homicides.
[173] Year to date, right now it's February 3rd.
[174] Those are January's numbers.
[175] Year to date, 41 people shot and killed, 116 shot and wounded.
[176] Total shot, 157.
[177] Total homicides, 47.
[178] So there was an extra bludgeoning in there somewhere for a total of six.
[179] Now, just this past weekend, 13 people were shot over the weekend in Mayor Brandon Johnson, Chicago.
[180] Andy, how many times?
[181] We've been doing this a long time together.
[182] I've been talking about Chicago numbers for many, many years.
[183] Is this ever going to correct itself?
[184] No, because it can't correct itself, can it?
[185] Let's go there for a minute.
[186] Yeah, no, and it sounds like they just need more gun control, right, Mark?
[187] If we just had more gun control, more regulation on Second Amendment and firearms, that would solve the issue.
[188] Right there, that would solve it.
[189] That one law, just give me that one law that will fix the problem.
[190] All the gun bans don't work, all the laws they currently have on the books.
[191] So, Andy, what is that one law?
[192] Well, if we just had universal gun bannings, like, you know, just like that county, a couple counties did in New Mexico for a while, if we just banned all firearms in the community for a while, then that would solve the issue.
[193] Okay, they had gun bans in Chicago up through 2010.
[194] It was the McDonald v. Chicago, or it was the McDonald case in Chicago.
[195] McDonald v. Chicago, Second Amendment Foundation case that wiped out the gun ban in Chicago.
[196] Guns were already banned in Chicago.
[197] And we've been covering shootings and killings in Chicago long before 2010 on this program, back in 2009 when the program first started.
[198] So that didn't work in Chicago.
[199] So I try to ask this question.
[200] There's no other way to ask it than to be almost sarcastic.
[201] You can't be anything but sarcastic when you ask the question.
[202] And you can't get an honest answer from Mayor Brandon or prior to Brandon Lighthead, Lightfoot, whatever her name was, Bug Eye, Beetlejuice, we called her, I think, Greg, if you remember.
[203] That's Greg Beetlejuice.
[204] And then prior to her was Rahm Emanuel.
[205] And prior to Rahm Emanuel was Mayor Daley.
[206] And then prior to Mayor Daley, there was no Chicago because the Dailies ran the city of Chicago for so long.
[207] That's not true.
[208] I'm just saying, you know, when he didn't run it, his dad was running it.
[209] And their gun bans were in place all through 2010.
[210] And Chicago at that time used to be the murder capital of the United States.
[211] And then that honor moved to St. Louis.
[212] Then that honor moved.
[213] to New Orleans.
[214] But there's no other way to ask the question, Andy, than to ask it sarcastically.
[215] Why on God's green earth does this continue to happen, and why won't they listen when real solutions are presented to them?

[256] What's the answer here for the crime in Chicago?
[257] I don't know the answer, but I know who does have the answer.
[258] You know who that is?
[259] Tell me. David Hogg.
[260] He's got the answer, man. He's got the answer.
[261] You're stepping ahead of me now because we were going to go to David Hogg.
[262] We had a lot of fun with David Hogg on the roundtable last night.
[263] This idiot is really something else.
[264] This kid is full of himself for whatever reason.
[265] Dancing in the blood of his classmates there at Parkland.
[266] This kid is just incredulous, man. He really, truly is.
[267] And A .W .R. Hawkins has a piece up.
[268] Failed VP candidate Tim Walz congratulates David Hogg on becoming DNC vice chair.
[269] So you brought it up, so let's go.
[270] But wait, wait, hold on.
[271] Before I go back, there is an answer to Chicago's problem.
[272] And, okay, so they've got concealed carry in Chicago now.
[273] We had a couple, there's been a lot of, ladies and gentlemen, if you're new to the show, we call them happy ending stories, what I always refer to them as.
[274] And that is when a bad guy expires at the hands of a good guy.
[275] Because the good guy was armed.
[276] And not necessarily expires.
[277] That's their choice.
[278] You break into somebody's home, you try to carjack somebody, you get popped a few rounds and you wind up in the hopsital dead.
[279] That's your problem.
[280] To me, that's a happy ending story.
[281] And there's been a number of happy ending stories, not just in Chicago, but Democrat run cities across the country where people are saying, you know what, we've had enough of this.
[282] We've absolutely had enough of this.
[283] But Chicago will not fix the problem.
[284] They will not go after the gangbangers the way they should be.
[285] They will not lock them up the way they should be.
[286] This is a gang -related problem in Chicago.
[287] It is gang and drug related.
[288] And, Andy, when you hear the nonsense, well, all the guns are coming.
[289] They're pouring in from Indiana, and they're pouring in from Wisconsin.
[290] Ask yourself the question, how come Indiana and Wisconsin don't have the same problems, if, in fact, that's true?
[291] It's not true.
[292] They're Democrats.
[293] Their policies suck.
[294] Their policies have failed for decades.
[295] And there's no better example than Chi -town, where the Democrats have controlled Chicago, Andy, for over a century.
[296] Maybe, ladies and gentlemen, a change of leadership with an attitude like Donald Trump that says, yeah, no, no more.
[297] No more.
[298] No, we're going to fix the problem.
[299] And they fix the problem, but they will not do that.
[300] This was defund the cops, this whole nine yards.
[301] Andy, it's pure Democrat policies.
[302] Now, let's go to Democrat Party, David Hogg becoming DNC vice chair.
[303] We couldn't talk about this last night with a straight face, okay?
[304] It's hard to talk about David Hogg with a straight face.
[305] But Justin Moon last night on the show was brilliant.
[306] When he gave us, he said he looks just like Joseph Goebbels, and he does.
[307] We looked at some photographs yesterday while we were on air.
[308] It was the...
[309] The resemblance is remarkable, quite frankly.
[310] I was stunned.
[311] I had no idea.
[312] I had never paid attention to that.
[313] But the propagandist in him and the propaganda that he's able to use the mainstream media, they take everything he says with, you know, he's some type of magical, I don't know what they, you know, he's their boy.
[314] The mainstream media just loves this kid.
[315] The rest of the country is over this kid, and the Democrats haven't yet figured it out.
[316] And here's failed VP candidate Tim Waltz who thinks people just didn't hear our message.
[317] We did hear your message, and it sucked.
[318] That's why we don't want you here.
[319] That's why you're not here.
[320] And here he is praising David Hogg.
[321] So when you have a failed candidate like Tim Waltz praising David Hogg, what does that say about David Hogg?
[322] Yeah.
[323] Yeah, that's a great point.
[324] And, I mean, it really shows the priority of what Democrats want.
[325] They're trying.
[326] They're trying.
[327] Look, the Republican or the Democrat Party for a long time is not invested in the next generation, the next generation of leaders.
[328] They haven't focused on who's going to take the mantle and run with it, which is what we've talked about for a while.
[329] The breaking apart of the Democrats because the old establishment is aging out.
[330] They're losing their ability to be able to function and they need the new leaders, but they haven't invested in that ability to do so.
[331] If this is the young generation of leadership they're looking for, they're going to have a serious problem.
[332] David Hogg is a one issue guy.
[333] That's it.
[334] So that tells me two things.
[335] Number one, they're really desperate on leadership because they have no one else to go to right now.
[336] And number two, that guns are one of their main issues they want to focus on, which is really wild to me because it's always been one of those where they want to focus on it, but they don't want to make it the priority number one issue.
[337] Because as you've talked about so many times on the show during elections, they don't bring up Second Amendment issues because it's a losing issue because even Democrats carry firearms.
[338] The fact that they're making that the issue is really kind of interesting to me of how desperate they are and what direction they're trying to make the Democrat Party go.
[339] And I mean, it's not going to be successful, but all the power to you, I guess.
[340] Yeah, I kind of I kind of don't want to give me any ideas.
[341] Right.
[342] But they're too stupid.
[343] They're too stupid to figure it out.
[344] Let's give you a prime example.
[345] Klobuchar today or yesterday reported.
[346] I don't remember one of my alerts.
[347] Who knows where it came from?
[348] I lose track.
[349] But nonetheless, Klobuchar was talking, reminding Americans that under Donald Trump's presidency, egg prices have skyrocketed.
[350] And I'm thinking to myself, where has she been for the last four years when we were complaining?
[351] I've been paying eight bucks a carton for eggs for the last two years plus.
[352] Yeah.
[353] This didn't happen in the last two weeks.
[354] What's Trump's term now?
[355] Two weeks tomorrow?
[356] Egg prices have been high for a long time.
[357] Yeah.
[358] OK, this is what they're hanging their hat on.
[359] And it's not just her.
[360] It seems to be a Democrat talking point.
[361] You're hearing it from members on the judiciary panel.
[362] People are talking about Democrats are talking about egg prices and trying to blame Donald Trump.
[363] Is that all they've got, Andy, is to try to default to egg prices?
[364] What does that say about them as a party?
[365] And here's the thing.
[366] If they had won this election, they'd have put their boot down.
[367] Ladies and gentlemen, trust me when I tell you this, if they had won the election, they would have put their boot on your neck.
[368] They would have canceled you.
[369] They were coming after you.
[370] Justin Moon will go as far as telling you they to put you in camps.
[371] And don't think that's a joke.
[372] Hillary Clinton said we need to be reeducated, if you recall.
[373] They were talking about this nonsense.
[374] Well, they lost because their policies suck.
[375] So I got to ask you, Andy.
[376] Are we smart enough as conservatives, as gun owners, as gun rights activists to put the boot on their neck?
[377] And end this fight because we can end this debate and we should be able to do it.
[378] Can we are we smart enough to figure out how?
[379] I think we're doing it.
[380] I mean, I think we're going to get there with Second Amendment issues, but I think we're doing it right now.
[381] Look at what Donald Trump's done in two weeks.
[382] Two weeks under a Trump administration.
[383] Look how far we've come so far with 300 plus executive orders.
[384] The border shut down by 92 percent compared to what we saw under the Biden administration.
[385] Tariff wars that are already going on where he's already worked with Canada and Mexico to make things happen.
[386] We're already I mean.
[387] The bringing down of education with school choice last week, with the shutting down of DEI, with the investigations, with Doge freezing out, and the EPA announcing more than 1 ,000 firings that could be happening in the next week.
[388] It's already happening, Mark.
[389] We just have to wait for the Second Amendment issue to pop up.
[390] But we're seeing it right before our eyes right now.
[391] Yeah, one thing we can't do, ladies and gentlemen, we're not going to be able to put the boot down and end a lot of these debates unless we stay active.
[392] We can't stay or get complacent because Donald Trump's in.

[438] So when we talk about Chicago, it's every city.

[445] This is the Bloomberg funded fake news outfit, right?

[447] AWR is reporting and.
[448] I saw this when it came across mine because I have them on alerts.
[449] Ladies and gentlemen, if you're not paying attention to the gun grabbers, set up the alerts on your phones and get the alerts when they come in in real time so you can pay attention to these things because it really, really matters.
[450] This is how you know the most about your enemy.
[451] It's real simple to do.
[452] But get yourself on some of these Bloomberg lists.
[453] It's tough to read this stuff sometimes because it's such nonsense.
[454] But the trace is reporting now that gun sales are plummeting, except in places where they're not.
[455] Last week, the headline begins with this from the report.
[456] Demand for guns skyrocketed in the United States five years ago as the country grappled with COVID -19, social unrest, and a contentious presidential election.
[457] Now that boom appears to be ending.
[458] The outlet then went on, ladies and gentlemen, to compare years of average gun sales to years of record gun sales, noting more guns were sold during years of record gun sales.

[465] The trace points to gun sales during the civil unrest that was experienced during covid, which were, you know, as we know, mostly peaceful protests with the fires burning in the background.
[466] and quotes Jonathan Metzl, director of Vanderbilt University Center of Medicine and Health.
[467] Here's what he said.
[468] What we saw in 2020 and 2021 were not sustainable from a market standpoint, but also many more people have guns now, and so the market of potential consumers is a lot smaller than it was during the pandemic.
[469] Now, Andy, let's tackle that.
[470] Let's grapple with that for a second.
[471] And I'm going to ask you this question, listeners and viewers.
[472] How many more guns do you really need?
[473] Just one more is the answer, right?
[474] Because there's so much out there.
[475] Does the market dwindle because new gun owner bought gun A?
[476] Andy, maybe they want B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, and Y, and Z too, right?
[477] You would think so.
[478] Is that how it starts?
[479] That's how it goes.
[480] So to them, it's a zero -sum game.
[481] I have my gun.
[482] I don't need another.
[483] No, no, no, it doesn't work that way.
[484] Because here's what the trace doesn't tell you, that while the numbers are down somewhat, they are still in record territory, Andy.
[485] So, yeah, they make the argument, like you said, that, well, we bought our guns, so we're good.
[486] So the market's dwindling because not as many people need a gun any longer.
[487] But, yeah, I don't know what the average is, what the average household has with number of firearms.
[488] And we're not going to know that because people don't need to register all of their firearms.
[489] And exactly.
[490] We shouldn't know that.
[491] But, yeah, this is the mindset that Democrats are progressives on every issue.
[492] And guns obviously included in this as well.
[493] They think so finite that they don't understand the piece of the pie.
[494] It grows with a market.
[495] It doesn't just have a finite piece and you're just taking it from somebody else.
[496] I mean, it's the same argument with economics that when you do well, somehow you're taking someone else's piece of the pie.
[497] You're not growing the GDP.
[498] You're just stealing it from somebody else, which is why they believe in socialism and redistribution of wealth is because we have to take it from somebody to give it to somebody else because the pie is set with a finite amount.
[499] We're not growing it.
[500] They don't understand the concept of growing your own piece of the pie, which is why we see GDP growth.
[501] It's the same issue with the guns here.
[502] is that you have yours.
[503] So now, who do we sell the next gun to?
[504] Well, there's a limited market here.
[505] No, I can buy more than just one firearm, and that's okay.
[506] So to them, they don't quite grasp that concept.
[507] Well, I ask you, listener, if you got the call from a pollster saying, how many guns do you have, would you answer the question?
[508] Or would you tell them to blank off?
[509] Okay, because I've actually gotten some of those calls over the years.
[510] That's nobody's business.
[511] I laugh and hang up on them.
[512] I have lots of guns, lots of guns.
[513] And you know how many more I need?
[514] Just one more.
[515] Yeah.
[516] Ask my wife how she feels about my guitars.
[517] How many guitars do you need?
[518] Just one more.
[519] Each one does a different thing.
[520] Each gun is a different thing.
[521] You know, I'll never forget being on NBC News in New York a few years ago.
[522] And for whatever reason, they couldn't get their cameras to work.
[523] So they put a still shot up with me. And the NBC crew was sitting on their little couch.
[524] And it was a male and female.
[525] And this was not the national.
[526] This was New York City.
[527] I had about three million viewers or something crazy like that.
[528] And she asked me, the female host, who for life me, I can't remember the names of these two.
[529] But they escaped me. But she said, do you own an assault weapon?
[530] No. I own an AR -15.
[531] I own a modern sporting rifle.
[532] But if you're going to refer to that as an assault weapon, you know, next question came by, how many do you have?
[533] I said up nine or so.
[534] The look on their face was priceless.
[535] The look on their face, because I could see them on camera while I was being interviewed on their TV show.
[536] And they just had a picture of me up and it said, you know, on.
[537] Phone Mark Walters, host Armed American Radio.
[538] The two of them looked at each other, and I thought they were going to fall out of their chairs sitting up in New York.
[539] They just could not understand.
[540] And what's the follow -up question that you get inevitably?
[541] Why do you need that many?
[542] That's right.
[543] So my response was simple.
[544] Guys, look, each one of these guns, some of them will never be fired.
[545] Some of them are keepsakes.
[546] Some of them are etched.
[547] They have, you know, one of my sayings, never leave your cave without your club.
[548] Some of them were gifts for that reason.
[549] Some were different.
[550] The build was different for whatever purpose.
[551] Some of them are tricked out a little bit more than others.
[552] And how many more do I need?
[553] Just one more.
[554] I'll never end wanting to have an AR -15 and whatever I can pick up, I can pick up.
[555] But look, you're listening to somebody that thinks I should be able to buy whatever I want.
[556] Get this, liberals are going to freak.
[557] Including a fully automatic weapon if I want to, right out of a vending machine.
[558] I'm a free American.
[559] I'm no threat to anybody, Andy.
[560] Gasp, how could you?
[561] Well, the mindset that's...
[562] That's not frustrating.
[563] It used to be.
[564] It's not anymore because you understand these people at least the best you can.
[565] They truly believe that if I take my AR -15s and turn them in to whatever enforcement authority, ATF maybe, or local law enforcement, whatever it may be, that somehow schools in my neighborhood are safer because my guns are no longer in my possession.
[566] Even though my guns pose no threat to anybody ever.
[567] Ever.
[568] Unless you're breaking in my home, then you'll meet the business end.
[569] Or unless you're trying to carjack me, you will meet the business end, as two people in Tampa, Florida did back in 2002.
[570] Okay?
[571] Only if I have to use it.
[572] To defend myself and my family, will you ever feel a threat from my firearm?

[625] Lee the Gunwriter Williams, ladies and gentlemen, who resides in Florida.

[631] I predicted yesterday on Armed American Radio, maybe prematurely, that it looks like it's coming because pressure from DeSantis.

[633] But from what I understand, the president of the Senate, a Republican, well, is not interested right now and claimed, and I quote, D .O .A. which is dead on arrival.
[634] So who knows?

[636] But let's go to a great happy ending story.
[637] Andy, I don't know if you heard about this.
[638] A garbage truck driver in Chicago with a concealed carry permit killed one alleged armed robber and left a second one in critical condition.
[639] Now, CBS News picked this up.
[640] At least one of the armed robbers was armed.
[641] Armed robbers.
[642] One of them approached the garbage man while he was in an alley.
[643] Doing his job.
[644] WGN -TV noted, quote, that the driver was outside the truck when the two suspects approached.
[645] So let's play theater of the mind with you, Andy.
[646] You have a garbage truck driver, very early morning, dark in a Chicago alleyway.
[647] Is that anywhere you want to find yourself alone?
[648] No, I think I would pass on that opportunity.
[649] Just my definition, right?
[650] All right, pass on that, right?
[651] So you mean if I said to you, Andy, I'm going to parachute you into an alley at 530 in the morning in Chicago, you wouldn't take me up on that?
[652] I would pass on that opportunity, but thanks.

[654] Well, this guy can't pass on it.

[656] So while he was approached, the driver, the garbage truck driver, pulled his gun.
[657] And gunfire was, in fact, exchanged.
[658] There was an exchange of gunfire.
[659] One of the robbers was shot in the head.
[660] 42 -year -old.
[661] Fatally shot in the head.
[662] So a great head shot from the garbage truck driver.
[663] That's a great shot.
[664] You know, the head's usually a moving target, right?
[665] Small target.
[666] You train to shoot for center of mass. Pow.
[667] Head shot.
[668] Drop.
[669] Kaplunk.
[670] Second one.
[671] A 20 -year -old man. Critically wounded.
[672] Shot in the neck.
[673] Shot in the neck.
[674] Wow.
[675] This garbage truck driver's got it going on.
[676] He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, the garbage truck driver, and was listed, last we know, in great condition.
[677] He has a firearms owner's identification card.
[678] We refer to that, Andy, as you know, the FOID card, because you have to get a FOID card before you can get a license to, you know, the whole convoluted infringement nonsense in Chicago.
[679] But thank God this guy was armed.
[680] And he has his concealed carry license.
[681] Under what circumstances in Chicago is that a bad thing, Andy?
[682] Let's talk a little bit about that because that's a great happy ending story.
[683] Yeah, that is a great happy ending story.
[684] Yeah, there's nothing negative about that story whatsoever.
[685] However, what you are going to hear from the other side, of course, is why is your precious valuables more important than the individual's life?
[686] And how could you think about actually firing upon them, let alone the fact, like you said, that they were armed as well.
[687] But remember, they're just living a life of victimhood, that they're just poor because of societal, you know, keeping them over the glass ceiling.
[688] So they're just victims of society.
[689] They did nothing wrong.
[690] They were right and just trying to survive.
[691] And, of course, when the good guy wins and prevails, that story that we get because that's all they have to report on.
[692] So I don't know, and I should know the answer to this.
[693] And I know I do know it, but it's just not coming to the top of my skull right now.
[694] Greg, do you know, maybe Andy, you know, is there a duty to retreat in Illinois?
[695] I am not familiar with that.
[696] In that state.
[697] I know in Jersey there is.
[698] In Massachusetts, lots of states, blue states.
[699] Andy, I'm going to say there probably is.
[700] Why?
[701] Because it's run by Democrats for decades.
[702] They hate your guns.
[703] They hate your self -defense rights.
[704] They hate your Second Amendment rights.
[705] There's likely a duty to retreat.
[706] I don't know if there is or not.
[707] Now, I don't know if you're in an alley.
[708] Is it an open alley?
[709] I mean, can you imagine?
[710] being in Chicago or having a duty to retreat under a circumstance like that as it's unfolding in real time to have to run away and leave your garbage truck.
[711] So they have a limited duty to retreat law, which means that people are not always required to flee before using force and self -defense.
[712] The duty to retreat applies in public spaces, but there are exceptions such as your home or when preventing a felony.
[713] Well, that would be preventing a felony, obviously, when somebody approaches you, an armed robber approaches you, obviously.
[714] That's preventing a felony.
[715] I'd have to look into that a little bit more, but you said it's limited, right?
[716] Yeah, there's no duty to retreat in your home, but in public spaces, you have to retreat if it's safe to do so.
[717] You can use force if you have no way to escape, and deadly force should only be used as a last resort.
[718] Yeah, Andy, I don't know if you recall, a number of years ago, I believe it was a Korean war vet, older gentleman, lived in a top -level apartment on a second or third floor.
[719] Somebody broke in.
[720] He heard the door at the bottom of the steps in the middle of the night, and the guy fired down the steps and was charged with murder.
[721] The public outrage and outcry in Chicago was so huge.
[722] Daly was the mayor at the time, that the AG dropped the charges against him because the public outrage was so intense.
[723] And I am convinced.
[724] Yeah, Andy, I'm convinced because it was two weeks after that, that Daly announced he was not going to run for another term for like what was probably his hundredth term.
[725] And he announced he wasn't going to run again.
[726] And I am convinced that that had a lot to do with it.
[727] I digress.
