[7] The U .S. Senate passed the $1 .7 trillion $4 ,000 -plus page omnibus spending bill on Thursday afternoon by a vote of 68 to 29, with 18 Republicans voting in favor of the measure.
[8] Arizona governor, Doug Deucy, has agreed to take down a makeshift border wall made of shipping containers along the state's border with Mexico after an agreement with the Biden administration.
[9] According to court documents, the resolution requires the state to stop installing the containers in any national force and to remove the previously installed containers.
[10] This comes two weeks before governor -elect Katie Hobbs, who opposed the construction, takes over as governor.
[11] Texas Representative and House Freedom Caucus member Chip Roy unveiled a letter this week signed by 31 of his GOP congressional colleagues, threatening to block any bill introduced by a Republican senator who votes for the most recent spending bill.
[12] Control of the House of Representatives has shipped it from one part of the other five times since 1954.
[13] And in none of those years have we had the outgoing Congress passed a comprehensive spending bill in the lame duck that is after the election.

[16] Two of Sam Bankman -Freed's associates pleaded guilty on Wednesday.
[17] SBF's ex -girlfriend Carolyn Ellison, the CEO of Alameda Research, and Gary Wong, the co -founder of FTX, are both cooperating with prosecutors.

[19] was extradited from the Bahamas to the U .S. where he will appear in court as soon as possible.
[20] Damian Williams, the U .S. attorney handling the case, released a video statement last night.
[21] First, I'm announcing that the Southern District of New York has filed charges against Caroline Ellison and Gary Wong in connection with their roles in the frauds that contributed to FDX's collapse.
[22] Both Ms. Ellison and Mr. Wong have pled guilty to those charges, and they are both cooperating with the Southern District of New York.
