[1] Now's a good time to remember where the story of tequila started.
[2] In 1795, the first tequila distillery was opened by the Cuervo family.
[3] And 229 years later, Cuervo is still going strong.
[4] Family owned from the start, same family, same land.
[5] Now's a good time to enjoy Cuervo.
[6] The tequila that invented tequila.
[7] Go to Quervo .com to shop tequila or visit a store near you.
[8] Quervo, now's a good time.

[14] This is the Dan Levator show with the Stucats podcast.
[15] So I'm, like, falling in the trap.
[16] And I think it's because I want to avoid the discussion, just because I'm still, like, woozy from everything that happened over the weekend.
[17] It does feel nice to be, like, doing our normal show, had it be light and funny and not be constantly reminded about it.
[18] But, like, just during the break right here, Stucats and I were saying, like, tonight.
[19] It's kind of a huge night for the country.
[20] This is kind of a massive week.
[21] It's a massive night.
[22] It's a massive opportunity for Donald Trump.
[23] I'm actually interested to see if he's going to try to unite this country.
[24] If he's going to do what it is that he said he was going to do, which is, and by the way, Donald Trump is a very lucky man today to be alive.
[25] And the security breakdowns, we will be looking at those for a long, long time because there were many.
[26] But it is an opportunity, and it is going to be interesting to see.
[27] if Donald Trump indeed tonight tries to unite our country because he does have the opportunity to do that.
[28] I think for a lot of people, Mike, I think for a lot of people, half the country, you had, for the first time, there were legitimate reasons.
[29] Listen, you could be on any side of the political landscape that you want to be on, okay?
[30] That's what our country's all about.
[31] But for the first time, I think everyone united in the fact like, whoa, this is crazy.
[32] We have arrived at a crazy place in this country, and Donald Trump and Joe Biden both have the responsibility to try to clean that up.
[33] And we'll see if it starts tonight.
[34] I'm interested to see.
[35] I think I know the perspective of some people listening to us right now, and they might think, like, you're foolish if you have certain expectations.
[36] I would say that this one's different and people can remain hopeful.
[37] I have tried my best to kind of squelch any of the feelings that I have.
[38] Like, okay, so he's going to be presidential today, but will the rhetoric pick up when he starts doing campaign?
[39] hits afterwards.
[40] And I think we have enough of a resume there to have our concern warranted a little bit, but he's never been faced with an assassination attempt where by inches he is still here.
[41] And hopefully every side takes an opportunity to kind of tone the rhetoric down because the political landscape got more and more extreme when the talk around it got more and more extreme and I do really hope that this is a decompression point for everybody to kind of equalize and realize that we're heading down a path where politically motivated violence is happening more and more and that's not the American way and unfortunately mass gatherings and violence attached to them has been a staple of American culture and I really think that this becomes more of an opportunity to do something about gun violence in this country because we've missed every opportunity we've had in previous years.
[42] This is an opportunity to really do something because there were a lot of good guys with guns there and a bad guy with a gun almost killed the former president of the United States.
[43] I mean, the fact that a 20 -year -old kid can purchase an AK -47, walk through a field, get to a rooftop that's 150 to 200 yards away from a former president and a guy who was running for president, leader of the free world.
[44] The fact that that can happen in this country...
[45] And spray a crowd.
[46] Someone died from this, other people got hurt.
[47] It's absurd.
[48] The fact that someone in this country can go buy a gun that doesn't, that shouldn't have a gun, that can buy an assault rifle and walk into a school and shoot it up, is absurd.
[49] I want to say that the gun laws are going to change in the United States of America, but I think we're all smart enough to realize that they're not.
[50] So unfortunately, I do not see that as something that will, you know, a positive from what what happened over the weekend because there aren't many positives that would be a positive i just i am so doubtful that that's going to happen mike if it didn't stop after sandy hook if it didn't stop uh after stoman douglas and parkland it's not stopping no i'm fearful that it will well the hopefully it doesn't take like a president dying thankfully he survived this attack on his life you would think that look i'm here i survived revive this.
[51] This is an opportunity to do something because if anyone can roll into a secured location and feel like this isn't going to happen, it's the former president of the United States.
[52] It's been several years since there has been an assassination attempt on one of our leaders over here on the highest office.
[53] There have been other government officials that have fallen victim to this.
[54] If the former president himself is falling victim to a mass shooting, this would be something, conventionally speaking, that you could reach across the aisle and get bipartisan support for.
[55] And it would be really disheartening to hear someone who was, he's a victim in this, someone that was a victim of gun violence kind of still cape up for it when, again, a lot of good guys with guns over there.
[56] I do hope that that's the opportunity.
[57] My expectations, just knowing what the company line has been from political leaders on that side of the aisle.
[58] I don't really have great hopes and expectations for that.
[59] But one thing that can change today is the political discourse and our approach to it.
[60] It's a time for civility.
[61] It's a time to tone down the rhetoric.
[62] I really hope that there aren't attacks on, like, vocal attacks that just galvanize and get people more and more extreme on their beliefs.
[63] I do think it's an opportunity to bring people together.
[64] And sadly, this is something that happens that's commonplace throughout the world, right?
[65] like Mexico had an election where they had, I think, 30 candidates assassinated, right?
[66] Like, Haiti's prime minister was killed, right?
[67] Like, Japan, like, there's been a lot of this throughout the world, and it's scary to see it now in the United States, where the last time we saw it was 40 some odd years ago.
[68] So it's like, things are changing.
[69] And hopefully, like, Mike, you said, this can be like a stopping point for everybody to say, like, all right, we can't let this get too out of hand.
[70] This is insane.
[71] It's a gun issue.
[72] I know it's a headline grabber.
[73] There was an assassination attempt on a president.
[74] But it is, and a lot of people want to politicize this.
[75] How can you not when there's an attempt on a political leader's life?
[76] But again, there was a large gathering of people in a really secure location.
[77] And still, an assault rifle made its way on the periphery and affected that event.
[78] And one person died.
[79] Several others were hurt, including the former president.
[80] And I really hope that things change.
[81] So I wanted to keep all the Trump and conversation around the way.
[82] weekend on the front end on its island because I don't know how to transition out of that.
[83] And yet here I am having to do a segment and transition out of that.
[84] Totally on me because I didn't think, like you probably thought there's no way Stu wants to go for a second round of this.
[85] No. But I did.
[86] Well, I wanted to start with another pop culture conversation because Chris, you really lashed out at us for liking this college football game and you weren't a part of the conversation and you're not part of the excitement.
[87] That's all right.
[88] I'm with Tony on that level.
[89] But while we were having that conversation on one end of the room, there was another conversation revolving another pop culture moment happening on the other side of the room.
[90] And I guess I'm the Venn diagram, at least in this office, of someone that's into both discussions.
[91] I'm talking, of course, about Katie Perry's new single.
[92] Lucy and I have been working on a transition from the Trump conversation to the Katie Perry conversation.
[93] And it had to do with ears bleeding because Katie Perry's new single is an absolute disaster.
[94] It is a horrible song, and it, the pandering within this song, women's world, that somehow is the most, like, reductive version of feminism that anyone's ever seen.
[95] It sounds like AI.
[96] Chad GBT came up with, like, a woman's rights song.
[97] It sounds like a song that would be played as free use music that you download to play, like, on a reality show during a changing scene.
[98] This is the means that Jeremy's ever been.
[99] It is horrible.
[100] It's one of the worst songs I've ever heard.
[101] And it's already, already gone through the cycle of being a meme and then going away because that's how bad it is.
[102] It's not even the type of bad that you can laugh at.
[103] It's so bad that no one even wants to listen to.
[104] Morbius Bad, Madam Webb Bad, in which, like, it becomes a meme, but still no one will financially support this, and it won't actually gain pop culture traction because no one wants to actually experience the art. Yeah, Katie Perry's had absolute hits over the years.
[105] And she was someone who was able to, like, have this fun kind of tongue -in -cheek way of writing pop music before.
[106] This is produced by Dr. Luke, who, you know, if you don't know, is just kind of a monster within the music industry.
[107] And the idea that he was behind this song that's supposed to be sort of women's empowerment.
[108] The music video is insane.
[109] He and six writers.
[110] I mean, Lucy, the music video is out of control.
[111] So I watched the music video a couple times, which has destroyed my YouTube algorithm.
[112] But I'm going to explain the music video to you.
[113] I don't know if we want to play it at the same time, but I honestly think it's funnier without the explanation.
[114] We're going to play the B -roll.
[115] We're not going to play the music.
[116] Okay.
[117] So basically, Katie Perry shows up and she's dressed as Rosie the Riveter, but like a hot Halloween costume.
[118] And her and these girls are pissing in urinals and they're working on construction sites and they're singing about women.
[119] And they're like, we're the best, we're the women and we piss in these urinals.
[120] Then she turns into a deflated balloon.
[121] Then she blows herself back up and then she starts walking.
[122] And then she comes on this, like, dystopian sort of, like, destroyed society.
[123] Whoa, where's that going?
[124] Like, there's like a big couple making out.
[125] And you're like, where are you here?
[126] This is a woman's world.
[127] And then she gets a gas pump, and she puts it in her butt cheek, and she starts filling up her butt cheek with gas, I'm assuming.
[128] And then she goes, and Trisha Paitis shows up, who's like a weird TikToky influencer, and they start driving this monster truck, and she's putting on makeup.
[129] And you're like, what happened with the gas pump, though?
[130] Like, what was the purpose of that?
[131] Because she already blew herself up when she was a disoenix.
[132] deflated balloon.
[133] But then she shows up at this girl's house and this girl's house says she's like filming a TikTok and Katie Perry's like, I'm going to film this TikTok with you.
[134] And then she films the TikTok and then the girl's like, oh my God, I just filmed a TikTok but it has no idea who Katie Perry is.
[135] Then Katie Perry steals her phone in a ring light and she goes and hops on a helicopter and the girl's like, what are you doing?
[136] Now is my TikTok and who are you?
[137] And then she's like, I'm Katie Perry and then she flies off on a helicopter but she's like hanging off the side of it the whole time.
[138] And that is feminism.
[139] Is it safe to say that this is satire?
[140] Because I saw the video for the first time today and I thought I kind of knew what she was going for and her career she's done a lot of satirical stuff like she burst on the scene with I kiss a girl and I liked it and like the video like it was it was kind of parodying the times it was satire and you always know satire is really good when you have to come out later with the video and be like hey guys this was satire so they released a video of her and a Rosie the Riveter outfit being like that was satire which like it was obviously satirical but the thing with like satire is that I don't think you can half ass it or like half gasoline butcheek ass but the song itself is terrible and it's not satire she's like really was like very proud the song is very bad the song is a really really bad song and the lyrics like I saw someone comment that it was like if a bunch of men came together and wrote a song about women and it's also like a you could tell that it was like something they tried to pitch for the Barbie movie and they were like we don't want this.
[141] Yeah, it's like, it's straight to DVD Barbie soundtrack.
[142] Yeah, really, really bad.
[143] And so the satire doesn't work when the song isn't satirical, even though if the song had been satirical, she might have done something.
[144] Yeah.
[145] She might have, like, cooked with this like Ray Donne feminism.
[146] Yeah, because like the video, I understand what she's going for, but I'm, I'm listening to the music as a video is playing, and I'm like, there's nothing of substance here.
[147] It's just a bunch of, like, rallying cries that you've seen, like, on sale at Walmart.
[148] And which he even pokes fun at in the video like the live laugh love stuff like i get that but why isn't the song at all interesting the song the song is straight up bad and i think it's probably worth noting that like this song was supposed to be a feminist like anthem and the guy who produced it dr luke is alleged to be very have done some very bad things to women wait so you said she flew away on a helicopter she did and the girl was like who are you and i said you guys just filmed the whole ticot together and you didn't even learn who each other like were and then Katie said I'm Katie Perry Well she's holding a female ringlight Was she holding from a ladder?
[149] I've always wanted to do a getaway On a helicopter where I'm attached to the ladder Was that from Batman?
[150] It was from Batman, yeah The shark repellent Where he has a shark attached You wanted to do that, huh?
[151] I've always like thought If I was ever going to make a getaway From a helicopter I'd want to do it from a ladder That's the way to do it Right Put the town on alert Piers Brasen from Dante's peak It's a vibe Hasn't this song debuted at like number one?
[152] Like it's a top of all the charts.
[153] No, it's fallen out of the charts, off the charts.
[154] What's the term?
[155] I don't know.
[156] I think off the charts.
[157] Off the charts.
[158] It's not on the charts in the form.
[159] Off the charts is a good thing.
[160] That's how you know something is really bad.
[161] It's not off the charts in the good way.
[162] It's off the charts in a bad way.
[163] And I would say listen to the song if you want to experience it for yourself.
[164] But I care about the listeners of this show.
[165] So don't listen to the song.
[166] And then thank me later one day when you're walking through a Kmart and you hear it.
[167] So you don't think.
[168] it's going to have a second life because like everybody laughing at it that this is do you guys remember when the internet had convinced movie execs that people actually wanted to see morbius like no no no like you just release it at the wrong time we we are ready now because the memes were so good for morbius do us a favor and please re -release this and then even fewer people saw it the only version that i can imagine this becomes popular is if there becomes a trend on TikTok where it's like people showing their cat and it's like the lyrics are sexy, confidence, so intelligent, she is heaven sent so strong, so soft.
[169] That might work if you're just showing a video of your adorable cat or dog or pet of some kind and maybe it trends and as a meme becomes something.
[170] But I don't even know if this is going to be one of those ones that gets a second life because people are making fun of it.
[171] I think it's just going to become irrelevant pretty quickly.
[172] honestly with like the events of the weekends like it's it's gone like there's just no way it's going because that was like the funny thing that everyone was talking about like we could actually enjoy this light conversation making fun of this then the shooting happened and it was like all right we're done and i don't think it's going to make a return and she has been like like promoing this for a long time and it was just not it was just not very good and i would say try again but if it's going to be like the first time maybe just don't it definitely missed its window because after 4 p .m. Eastern today nothing else exists other than CFB 25 wait Lucy are you telling her to retire no I'm just saying it's a bad it's a bad she kind of this was you can't go out on that though so this was supposed to be forget about it this was supposed to be a comeback record for her because I know she was doing like the idle stuff but in terms of like being an active pop star with active hits she was doing like a nostalgia residency in Las Vegas she needed look she has to a new album coming out.
[173] There's a chance that one of the other singles is better and the marketing team just made a horrible decision on choosing this as the first one, but this is not the way you want to come back if you're making a comeback.
[174] It's really bad.
[175] It's really hard, especially like when you're of a certain age, when you go away for a while, Fergie did this.
[176] Fergie had huge hits, left the black eyed peas, was a big star in her own right, went away for a little bit, tried to come back with a stinker of a single, and out of it.
[177] it national anthem and katie perry was like in a run of incredible female pop music in like 2008 2009 2007 where it was riana and biance and taylor swift and katy perry and lady gaga all at like the early points of their careers but now we're in a new run with a new generation of female pop music with Sabrina carpenter and chapel rhone and olivia rodrigo who were all young and just putting out hits like absolute bangers and it's going to be a lot tougher Is Sabrina have like an album or does she just put out a new single every three weeks?
[178] Presently she has two singles out that are both, I believe it was she had the number one single in America with espresso and then she topped herself with please, please, please.
[179] Yeah, I was driving from Reno.
[180] I was driving from Reno to Tahoe and I heard Sabrina Carpenter on the same station three different times.
[181] It was Kiss FM in LA.
[182] Don't embarrass me, mother.
[183] Sarah Carpenter's song.
[184] Are you saying in a one hour drive, that song was played three times same station?
[185] it wasn't the same song.
[186] It was a different song.
[187] I knew espresso because that's been pretty unavoidable.
[188] Yeah, that song was huge.
[189] That's like a song of the summer type type song.
[190] Tony, it's Sabrina, not Sarah.
[191] Of course, Sabrina Carpenter.
[192] Thanks for correcting Tony on that one.

[205] Don Lebertard.
[206] He seems like a not nice guy, and he's always been a not nice guy.
[207] I don't care for him, and I hope he has the day he deserves.
[208] Oh, let's see.
[209] Stugats.
[210] I hope he has.
[211] the day he deserves.
[212] That's how I get people when they're really mean to me. I'm not like, go F yourself.
[213] I'm like, I hope you have the day you deserve.
[214] It's a great kind.
[215] It's a great kind insult.
[216] Yes.
[217] It's beautiful.
[218] It's leaving it to the cosmos to sort it out.
[219] That's a less southern, bless your heart.
[220] This is the Don LeBatar show with a Stugat.
[221] Did you actually consume any good pop art late over the weekend?
[222] Yeah.
[223] Or was it all?
[224] just like Katie Barrett?
[225] Well, I saw, I saw Long Legs, the new horror movie with Nicholas Cage.
[226] Yeah, I definitely want to see that.
[227] I was, I'd been busy.
[228] I wanted to get around to it and now I'm never going to do anything ever again because college football 25 comes out today.
[229] But how is that?
[230] So first of all, really, really good movie.
[231] If you're in, like, that's a good, they're kind of A24y.
[232] They come out with good stuff.
[233] Well, and the big thing that I think a lot of people have realized now is if you market these movies well, you can have huge.
[234] opening weekends.
[235] Did it have a big one?
[236] It had a, it shattered all of the expectations.
[237] I think it made $22 million, and they projected that it would make $8 million.
[238] Whoa.
[239] A very, very creepy, creepy movie, Nick Cage is pretty horrifying to watch, but what's been really fun about it is it's so perfect on Rotten Tomatoes?
[240] I don't know if it still is at the moment.
[241] 86%.
[242] It did make $22 .6 million.
[243] Right, which is crazy.
[244] And it was all seemingly because of the marketing, because I know Lucy was saying earlier, like, she's seen a lot on TikTok about it.
[245] That's where I saw what was going on, as did my wife.
[246] And what's really funny, and I know we have it, you know, available for video at some point, but, like, their Twitter presence and their graphic design has been great, too, because they're acknowledging what a big movie it's been.
[247] But they also had a graphic that was marketing the movie saying, number one movie in America.
[248] And then in small print, after Despicable Me Four.
[249] And just like for a horror movie, the tweet says, Hail Satan, and it has this horrifying image of like the shadow of Nick Cage's character, and then it has After Despicable Me 4 on it.
[250] And it's just priceless.
[251] But the way that they've marketed it, it had a huge opening weekend.
[252] And it is a, it's not a jump scare horror movie as much as it's like a psychological thriller that's going to leave you a bit disturbed.
[253] And I really enjoyed it.
[254] Have you ever watched Hereditary?
[255] I haven't.
[256] That's one that I really want to.
[257] Because of this, I now have a list that I'd really like to watch.
[258] Terry is like, for my money, the scariest movie I've ever seen.
[259] It's a greatest horror movie ever.
[260] That's number one, Exorcist is number two.
[261] And while those movies did have jump, scare elements to it, it was all about those movies stayed with you.
[262] I'm a huge Nicholas Cage guy, and I wanted to see this movie.
[263] His performance is.
[264] Anytime horror movies get, like, at a time, this had 100 % on Rotten Tomatoes, like, you know, okay, this is going to be something that you're going to want to see.
[265] It's just a matter of getting out there.
[266] So maybe when CFB 24, when CFB 25 becomes CFB 26, and like two weeks prior, I can actually make some time in my social life for this.
[267] It seems pretty dynamite over there.
[268] The one thing that I did see on social media promoting this movie was really effective in that it was tracking the actress's heart rate when she sees Nicholas Cage's character.
[269] And in real time, like it jumps up.
[270] It's like 170 beats per minute or something.
[271] Yeah, like source, just trust me, pal.
[272] But it was effective in getting...
[273] Every actor in this movie did a fantastic job.
[274] Like that's the other part is there are several great performances and the people who needed to be disturbed by Nick Cage's character sure as heck felt like it.
[275] And the people who needed to stay steady, felt authoritative.
[276] And just everybody really was cast very well.
[277] But the ability, the way they told the story was interesting.
[278] and actually the director of this movie is a guy named Oz Perkins but what's crazy about that is what else is how's Perkins done so not only was he goes around the teams and does the nerdy guy in Legally Blonde but his dad played Norman Bates in the original psycho oh yeah so his father was psycho and now he is writing and directing horror movies himself which is just an kind of creepy connection.
[279] Their whole family history, if you want to go down a rabbit hole on Wikipedia, his mom was on a plane that was hijacked at 9 -11.
[280] His dad played psycho and had a whole crazy backstory.
[281] Now he's making these horror movies.
[282] It is a fascinating cast of characters in real life, but this movie is, it's worth seeing.
[283] Like, if you're into that type of movie, it is certainly worth it.
[284] Nicholas Cage has kind of become a joke, but Nicholas Cage has taken roles for a lot of different reasons.
[285] a lot of financially motivated reasons.
[286] Mostly money, Mike.
[287] But if the script is good and it demands a good performance, Nicholas Cage has shown with movies like in Pig and whatnot that he can meet the script with a performance and knock it out the park.
[288] And that's great because at this age in his career, most people consider him like an overacting joke.
[289] His final scene on screen is one of the truly most disturbing things that I've ever seen.
[290] Did you say overactive?
[291] Mike said overactor and then I think it's from Liar Liar Liar where someone called I'm concerned because you guys I was kind of sold on at least trying the movie out it's 86 rotten tomatoes 86 % but that's critics the fans have it like 62 % and that's because they're getting scared yeah but that concerns me I trust the fans more than the critics but if that metric was around when people were passing out and vomiting while watching the exorcists I imagine like they didn't have a good time.
[292] Someone yacked all over my food.
[293] Didn't have a great time.
[294] Like, someone had an emotional breakdown because, you know, I was eating popcorn and this girl starts projectile vomiting and does something with a crucifix that I wasn't expecting.
[295] Like, I can understand why the audience would be, like, less inclined to get something a positive review there.
[296] And there are some religious undertones in this one, too, that might isolate certain people who went in with one expectation and then end up coming out with, you know, hail Satan, as it says on Twitter.
[297] So, you know, that might upset some points.
[298] So definitely watch it.
[299] I would say it's worth watching.
[300] Especially, I mean, you're such a big Nick Cage fan.
[301] That, like, his performance is it's crazy.
[302] And I was really, like, blown away because of some of the things that everybody feels about Nicholas Cage at this point in his career.
[303] I was really, like, impressed by the way that he met this creepy character in the place exactly where it needed to be.
[304] Maybe make some time for it during the off season when I'm, you know, you get your crew.
[305] Twister double feature?
[306] On the flight to go recruit a five -star?
[307] Yeah.
[308] Well, you can DM them sometimes, so I think I'll, maybe I can do that.
[309] Because I work at the group's pace, because you do your off -season altogether.
[310] I got like seven dudes in my online dynasty.
[311] Oh, we have like 30 -something.
[312] Charles McDonnell in front of the show.
[313] There's no way.
[314] Like, that's going to fall apart, I'm telling you right now, because you all are going to, it's going to be impossible to get 30 people on the same schedule to do the off -season.
[315] You're just signing up for a mess.
[316] Tony.
[317] Six -seven's the right number.
[318] What difficulty are you?
[319] we're looking at Tony?
[320] You think in Heisman, All -American?
[321] I think All -American is what the online, like, regular...
[322] You've got to go Dynasty.
[323] Start off with Heisman and just have sliders up.
[324] Don't you work your way up to Dynasty?
[325] When Dynasty is what you do, Heisman is where you...
[326] I'm trying to run a type of...
[327] Settings?
[328] Yeah, in the settings, yeah.
[329] That's why I need to go over the settings so people like you can understand where...
[330] And you're online...
[331] I'm there now.
[332] Do you have rules for prestige?
[333] We have rules coming.
[334] We're figuring in that out.
[335] No, you can't have anybody try to start a dynasty with Alabama.
[336] Get the F out of here.
[337] Taylor's...
[338] Taylor might be starting with Alabama.
[339] No, you can't do that.
[340] He might be.
[341] No, proceed.
[342] Three stars and below.
[343] What are you doing?
[344] He might be.
[345] I don't know.

[362] Don Lebertard.
[363] And it was the number one show on the land because the big star of this show was a man who was cool because he wore a leather jacket.
[364] The Fawz.
[365] The Fons.
[366] The Fons.
[367] The German version, the Franz.
[368] Stugats.
[369] I did not think she can do better than the Faz, which was their initial offering.
[370] But then it became the French television show.
[371] Happy days.
[372] This is the Dan Levitar show with the Stugats.
[373] Dan will be back in tomorrow.
[374] Obviously jet lagged from a trip over in Africa, but full cast in with the whole show.
[375] Back as you loved it.
[376] Like it never left, back tomorrow.
[377] He should try this fior on for size.
[378] I mean, Jesus Christ, he's jet lagged.
[379] But our coverage does not stop just because Dan is not here.
[380] We've got Amin and Juju out at Summer League doing all the hard work for oddball.
[381] It is presently really hot in Las Vegas.
[382] The forecast, I think I saw, is 107 degrees out there.
[383] Amin properly in really cool Rocky Balboa shorts.
[384] We like that.
[385] Well, those are the Apollo Creed shorts before you correct me. The Creed shorts that he gave to Rocky, correct.
[386] And then Rocky takes it when he fights for his dear friend's honor and Rocky 4 where he takes Dragos' ass.
[387] He ends the Soviet Union.
[388] is it just an incredible film Amina.
[389] brought the entire country together, Mike.
[390] It really did, and we can use something that galvanizes us right now before CFB 25 comes out.
[391] I may watch Rocky 4, and that's it.
[392] That's it.
[393] I'm done.
[394] But Amin is out there covering Summer League with Jujugadi and oddballs doing great stuff out there.
[395] Welcome aboard, Amin.
[396] How are you doing in this heat?
[397] Well, first of all, if I can change, you can change, and everybody can change, right?
[398] That's what we all know.
[399] But if I could change my clothes, because it's 125 degrees outside.
[400] It's been hot every goddamn day.
[401] My idiot producers say, hey, we're going to do the hit, but we're not going to do it from inside of the set.
[402] We're going to do it outside on Premont Street, but let everybody know you're in Vegas.
[403] Hello, I don't need to prove that I'm in Vegas.
[404] I just here.
[405] And as I'm here, as I said, it's ridiculously hot.
[406] It's so hot.
[407] I got juju out here making breakfast.
[408] That's right, ladies and gentlemen.
[409] It's so hot.
[410] You can fry an egg and bake.
[411] And bacon.
[412] Oh my gosh, we're doing the morning show gag.
[413] Wow.
[414] Yeah, where you show, the local news gag, where you show how hot it is by grilling.
[415] Are you actually going to, that's on a pan.
[416] Are we actually going to eat this?
[417] This is real deal breakfast.
[418] This is our breakfast.
[419] Juj is responsible for it.
[420] And guess what?
[421] The way it's cooking, I better hope I like my eggs over well done because they know he'll easy.
[422] He's over here, ladies and gentlemen.
[423] Is that turkey bacon?
[424] Is it already, is it already like bubbling?
[425] How long is the, how long is the frying pan?
[426] been out on the sidewalk over there.
[427] Can we pan to the pan real quick?
[428] Absolutely, we can pan to the pan.
[429] No, Prime Ban's been out here a little bit before.
[430] We let Juju wait until the start of the segment.
[431] There we go.
[432] Look at it.
[433] He's scrambling him.
[434] Over -easy is what Judy just told me. He's going over easy.
[435] It's, guys, it's absolutely pandemonium out here.
[436] We only got, like, our stern talking to from security about our presence here.
[437] We let them know, hey, man. It's just a bit.
[438] We're going to clean everything up.
[439] They weren't really happy about the eggs outside on the sidewalk, but hopefully we'll get through the segment about any other further interruptions.
[440] It's Fremont Street at 9 a .m. in the morning.
[441] That's what they're worried about, the egg on the sidewalk.
[442] I mean, I'm telling you, Stu, we have like a swarm of security on the little golf carts.
[443] And at first I was like, okay, ha -ha, whatever.
[444] We got to, you know, some stuff out here.
[445] It's not a big deal, a little frying pan, whatever.
[446] More and more showed up, and I was just like, look, what's going on, man?
[447] And then I realized what you did sense to do, it's 9 a .m. It's prime time is later.
[448] Right now they need something to get their juices going to make sure that they're on point.
[449] Well, I'd rather have egg on a sidewalk than egg on my face.
[450] But unfortunately for Bronny James, he's got some egg on his face.
[451] A lot of outsized attention to Bronny James, but this is what he asked for.
[452] And the performances have not exactly blown folks away in me. And what do you make of the whole Bronny James thing?
[453] Mike, I could not disagree.
[454] more.
[455] I saw, you know, I'm a basketball expert.
[456] I watch players.
[457] I see the things that you as a casual layperson do not see.
[458] And so what I did was I had our crack research staff, not to be confused with our research staff on crap, put together a little highlight reel of all the things that Ronnie has been amazing at Summer League.
[459] Roll it.
[460] All right, guys, Bronny exhibit some of these better and savvy.
[461] Look at the way he's sitting on the bench, man. Like most rookies don't sit at that kind of level.
[462] He's got a great ability to sit on the sideline.
[463] He's got that, look at the focus and the stair.
[464] Also, very important, confidence.
[465] Hold that far up, buddy.
[466] Don't let these people know that you can or can't shoot.
[467] And what's up?
[468] You turn it over.
[469] What do you do?
[470] You go back and you get it.
[471] You fix your mistakes.
[472] You wipe up that spilled note.
[473] And then you spill some more milk.
[474] That's what you do.
[475] That's an NBA player.
[476] And of course, a nose for the ball.
[477] look at it.
[478] Some might say this is an uncontested rebound.
[479] I say he noticed it before anybody else.
[480] He went up there and got it.
[481] Let's show it one more time.
[482] And finally, that touch from outside.
[483] I know a lot of it.
[484] Oh, he's one for eight, one for eight.
[485] No, no, no. Look at that follow through.
[486] Look at that.
[487] Oh, we'll slow down for you guys with a face on it.
[488] That was a main shot right there.
[489] You cannot deny Brony James, NBA caliber player.
[490] So it hasn't gone well for Brony.
[491] I will say he looked a lot like his dad, Skying.
[492] high for the uncontested rebound.
[493] Like he was a pretty good impression.
[494] Yeah, yeah, one arm and the flex with the back muscles, I'm like, that is LeBron's kid.
[495] Yeah, but hitting that jumper when everyone else is taking shots at the same time, that is difficult.
[496] It's hard to do.
[497] It's like a carnival game.
[498] It's really difficult to do.
[499] Beyond Brony, is there anything actually of note going on at Summer League?
[500] Because, I mean, I'm getting an ESPN mobile alerts anytime he gets blown by an opposing player.
[501] It's the Bronny mania is, is probably a little too much, and the play doesn't dictate all this coverage, but I understand why we're there.
[502] Is there anything actually worth talking about, though?
[503] Well, I got to tell you guys right now, we're about three years away from changing the name of the NBA to the association de basquette de Nacional de Amerigo, because it's nothing about French players taking over.
[504] Alexander Sar, back in Rich Arce.
[505] The list is endless of French nationals who are out here dominating at Summer League.
[506] Other than that, to be honest, I can talk about Reed Shepard.
[507] I could talk about, you know, Sepon Castle, some of these other guys out here.
[508] But really, all I want to talk about how hot it is.
[509] It is so freaking hot.
[510] I'm getting some stroke out here.
[511] I'm trying to stay hydrated.
[512] It's not working very well.
[513] It's going on with Juju, how good the breakfast is going.
[514] Wow.
[515] That is, where do you get all the fixings for it?
[516] That is actually, like, that is a legitimate breakfast place skillet right there.
[517] Cook it.
[518] Do -Jugati is a professional, ladies and gentlemen, when you put him on scene, on location, he doesn't just come empty hand and say, hey, what do I do?
[519] Where's my mark?
[520] He's out here coming with his own reserves.
[521] And I'm going to lie, man. I'm not a pork eater, but that think it looks pretty good.
[522] I might give it a try.
[523] Well, I don't know.
[524] Look, for a sidewalk egg frying gag, I've never seen presentation that good on a skillet.
[525] Like, he's really dressed it up for folks.
[526] Like, he's not half -assing it.
[527] we got ash browns too you got tomatoes mushroom growth types of stuff we got people stop in the middle of the street because they're so impressed by Juj's cooking skills right here in sunny Los Vegas ladies gentlemen they tell you that it's 10018 degrees you can't really do much guess what you could do you can make a hell of a breakfast at 9 in the morning Wow let's zoom in on that that looks legitimately delicious I mean is that a drink from Fat Tuesdays I mean this is no I mean it looks like a fat Tuesday drink but it is a generic Las Vegas drink.
[528] You know, this is the classic Vegas.
[529] You know, you come here, you land, Stu, you throw your stuff in the room.
[530] You come back down outside and you say, hey, I'm thirsty.
[531] I'm on Fremont Street.
[532] I need me a beverage.
[533] They say, do you want the 12 ounce, you want 32 ounce, or do you want the hang grenade?
[534] And I said, you need a hang grenade.
[535] In watching some of the Summer League ball out there, who is most likely to receive $15 million extension by the Miami Heat?
[536] I think something.
[537] The Williams get to the heat.
[538] Hey, man. I don't know.
[539] It's $150 million.
[540] That's not pretty good.
[541] He's grown manning the hell out of everybody.
[542] He's dunking on people.
[543] I think he's got that nasty street that Miami's been looking for.
[544] Now, can you be someone who contributes offensively meaning with three, which is what we talk about so many times.
[545] The heat need offense?
[546] I don't know.
[547] But I know one thing.
[548] They don't want to punk them out.
[549] He's going to be punking the people out left and right.
[550] So a lot of people go to Summer League for the industry chatter.
[551] Yeah, they want to see the prospects.
[552] but a lot of deals are made and a lot of groundwork for future deals is laid.
[553] What are you hearing?
[554] You are our front office insider.
[555] Are there any rumblings?
[556] Me as a heat fan, I'm always hoping that there's another malcontent superstar on the horizon.
[557] Is there something a brewing?
[558] Mike, I'm going to tell you right now.
[559] I can't tell you if the heater involved, but I can tell you what's a brewing.
[560] One of them, everybody knows.
[561] If you follow NBA basketball, you know, Lori Marketing, a lot of trade chatter.
[562] Well, the state's interested.
[563] A lot of other teams are interested.
[564] And Utah, for its part, does not look like it wants to be good.
[565] That's going to be a theme this year.
[566] You know, we took a year off from teams tanking on purpose because the draft, as we know, wasn't that impressive.
[567] But Cooper flag is the big, you know, get.
[568] That's to the flag.
[569] That's the theme for 24, 25 next season.
[570] So everyone's starting right now, like, hey, I want to be bad.
[571] Detroit's like, I want to be bad.
[572] Washington's like, I want to be bad.
[573] And I believe Utah says, I want to be bad.
[574] back because a white superstar you guys.
[575] They want to trade a white all -star on the off chance that they can get the white superstar coming into the league.
[576] Larry Morgan, it's like, we know who he is.
[577] That's a solid piece to build around, but you've got no shot.
[578] You've got no shot at getting Cooper.
[579] Yeah.
[580] Cooper flag is worthy of the hype.
[581] We've seen all the other pros talk about him on the internationals team.
[582] What is your main takeaway of how all these other pros are talking?
[583] about him.
[584] Well, I mean, I think that's a big deal that he went to the team USA kind of camp.
[585] He played for USA selecting the only, let alone college player, the only high school player in the entire outfit.
[586] And again, a lot of plays from the pros, from the vets on the main team and also the select team.
[587] He was voted the best player on the select team by the players.
[588] That's a big deal for a 17 -year -old.
[589] Look, is he going to be the next coming, the savior?
[590] at this point it's hard to say but we know one thing about the NBA if there's a white savior out there we're going to find him and we're going to give him every opportunity to prove us right yeah there are some players that are getting a lot of attention some development projects Jordan Miller I saw in college down here in Miami his game kind of reminded me a little bit of Paul George and it's a lofty expectation I think he can slot in at all but it looks like they might have a regular NBA player who else is impressing out there that is more of project than someone that's just starting out in the league well i could talk about projects but i think you guys would rather hear about the other trade rumbling you want to hear what's happening when i go to the tower fleets bar at when what the NBA people are all murmuring about that hasn't really been talked about a lot in public the houston rockets with their extension for alpher shingoon talks with a stall and there is hotter murmuring rumblings to guys you just one of the ones that of those words that you like there about Shangoon being available.
[591] And this is a guy if you're like, who's that?
[592] Ladies and gentlemen, last season in Houston, he took a huge step under his first year under Ema Yudoka.
[593] This is a guy that had Yolkish -esque moments of being a hub for the Houston Rockets offense.
[594] I think they played a lot better at what they realized.
[595] Daly was a nice player, but your main best player is Shangoon.
[596] So if he's available, like I'm hearing, kind of shakings and kind of contextual, Shakings is not one of them.
[597] No, Shetkins is a conjecture.
[598] The Sous has got one for you.
[599] I prefer scuttle butt.
[600] Scuttle butt.
[601] Scuttle butt actually is the perfect word.
[602] There's a lot of scuttle butt that he might be available.
[603] And if he is, it would be very interesting to see where he lands because this is a guy who can tip the balance of power wherever he lands in the NBA.
[604] So this is a busy time in the NBA calendar.
[605] While other sports are slowing down, this is where the offseason chatter really starts ramping up.
[606] And for Oddball and your cast and crew, you've got.
[607] Olympic basketball to talk about is a really exciting time.
[608] Team USA is going to have some competition, a lighter group for them to get out of in the Olympics, but I'm excited to hear your coverage all offseason, and I know Juju's a part of what you're doing there.
[609] He just made a hell of an omelet.
[610] Where's Charlotte?
[611] Well, guys, I actually have a little bit of sad news.
[612] You know, I have all the excitement in the hoopla here at Fremont Street.
[613] Charlotte was here.
[614] Unfortunately, she didn't really make it.
[615] The heat, I guess, got to.
[616] her a little bit.
[617] We got a shot over here.
[618] I'm not quite sure what happened in her shorts.
[619] She's just wearing that Tatum jersey, but yeah, Charlotte, gone but not forgotten.
[620] I was always worried about her complexion in that, in that heat.
[621] It was not going to go well for her.
[622] I got to go back to these producers, man. Who the hell do you guys have me working with?
[623] I'm out here.
[624] It's 125 degrees.
[625] I'm wearing layers.
[626] This drink doesn't even have ice in it.
[627] It's just lukewarm.
[628] Charlotte's freaking melted in a puddle like the Wicked Witch of the West.
[629] Why are we doing this outdoors?
[630] I thought we had this whole relationship with Beeson and Circa and where it's this beautiful kind of thing where you guys did the show during the Super Bowl.
[631] Why am I outdoors doing this shit?
[632] At least you have an omelet though.
[633] I'm such a fan of Con Air that I just wanted you stage steps away from where Cyrus the virus was decapitated.
[634] That is a great moment in movie history, but also you're right, Stugat.
[635] Oh, God.
[636] Judeugati, not only a great content provider, but also.
[637] So a great chef.
[638] This is great breakfast right here.
[639] It's amazing.
[640] Oddball.
[641] Check it out all offseason long.
[642] Lots of Olympic basketball for them to cover.
[643] Rest and peace, Charlotte, while there.
[644] And you're getting kicked out right over your right shoulder right now.
[645] Oh, my God.
[646] Oh, my God.
[647] Who are you looking at him?
[648] Well, they're investigating Charlotte melting into a puddle, I guess.
[649] That's funny.
[650] It's a murder scene.
