Morning Wire XX
[0] Hello, Morning Wire listeners.
[1] I'm Daily Wire, editor -in -chief John Bickley with Georgia How.
[2] And we wanted to take a moment on this Christmas Day to say that we are truly grateful for you tuning into this show every day.
[3] It's a great privilege to host this show, a gift, if you will.
[4] So we wanted to celebrate it by giving something back and hopefully adding a little more Christmas spirit to yours in the process.
[5] We asked our regular contributors to share a tradition in their family that's particularly important to them.
[6] We hope you enjoy listening to their responses as much as we have.
[7] Hey there, this is Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips.
[8] When I think of Christmas, I think of drinking far too much of my mom's famous eggnog, dancing with my siblings to Harry Connick Jr.'s Christmas album.
[9] It's the best one there is.
[10] Don't debate me. And above all, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
[11] Every Christmas morning growing up, my family would make a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday Jesus and gather together to read the Gospel of Luke before opening presents.
[12] I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.
[13] and holiday season.
[14] We were all so grateful to you, our listeners.
[15] Hi, this is Daily Wire Culture reporter Megan Basham.
[16] For the past nine years, the period from early September to just after Thanksgiving has meant one thing in our family, the Nutcracker ballet.
[17] From costume fittings to promotional photos to multiple rehearsals a week for my two ballerina daughters, it all leads up to December when the show finally goes on.
[18] Though it's a big commitment that requires a lot of sacrifice from all of our family.
[19] Every year, as I see my girls grow as dancers, I'm so grateful that they get to take part in a beautiful Christmas tradition that's been delighting audiences for over 130 years.
[20] Merry Christmas.
[21] Hey, Morning Wire fans, this is Tim Pierce, and I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
[22] This year, I'll be up in the Sierra Blanca Mountain spending time with family in Redoso, New Mexico.
[23] Hope you all have a great holiday and we'll be back soon, bringing you more of the news you need to know.
[24] Hi, everyone.
[25] This is Brent Sher.
[26] I'm wishing all our listeners a Merry Christmas.
[27] One of our favorite family traditions is breaking into our homemade agnog that we make over Thanksgiving as we watch our kids tear into their presents from Santa.
[28] Thanks to everyone for listening to us and have a great new year.
[29] This is Maraida Lorty, Daily Wire reporter.
[30] My favorite part of Christmas always comes early in the day.
[31] I love going to midnight mass with my family and celebrate.
[32] celebrating with treats in the wee hours of the morning afterwards to welcome the birth of our Lord.
[33] I hope you all have many wonderful moments this Christmas season as well.
[34] Merry Christmas.
[35] Hey, this is Daily Wire Reporter Spencer Lindquist, and one holiday tradition in the Lindquist household that I always really enjoy is that my mom will make these really fluffy Dutch pancakes called Panukukin every year around Christmas.
[36] And it's definitely a family favorite.
[37] I hope that all of our morning wire listeners have a very Merry Christmas.
[38] Hey Morning Wire listeners, Daily Wire reporter Amanda Presta Giacomo here.
[39] One of my absolute favorite Christmas traditions is to bake all sorts of cookies with my sisters and my mother, and then we like to send out little cookie trays to loved ones.
[40] We went crazy this year like we do every single year, and I think we made more than 25 types of cookies.
[41] And don't worry, I taste tested all of them, like five times each, you know, to be safe.
[42] Anyway, I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas, eat some cookies.
[43] and happy birthday, Jesus.
[44] This is Daily Wire, Senior Editor, Joel Needler.
[45] When our kids were very little, they would lose their minds on Christmas Eve in anticipation of opening presents, so to distract them, we began building a gingerbread house together the night before Christmas.
[46] I got to give credit to Mom for the idea.
[47] She went all out, buying the best gingerbread kits she could find, along with lots of icing, different colors, and a wide variety of candies.
[48] Inevitably, though, it became a competition.
[49] So now we build two gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve, and it's boys against girls.
[50] The funny thing is, even with the girls always producing a well -structured symmetrical gingerbread house, the boys are in the lead with the most wins.
[51] That may change this year, since this boy will be outnumbered on Christmas Eve, but it's been a fun way to celebrate Christmas in the Needler household.
[52] Hi, everyone.
[53] This is David Cohn from the Daily Wire Show Craning Company.
[54] One of our favorite traditions for Christmas is picking out and decorating the tree.
[55] So a few days after Thanksgiving each year, our young family, we go and we pick out our Christmas tree.
[56] And it's always fun to involve everyone in the family in deciding which is the best tree for us that year, bringing that into the house.
[57] And immediately we get to decorating it with ornaments and some of which are very special to us, given to us by family members.
[58] Some go way back, even though I will say with two toddlers, you know, you can't put the Christmas ornaments too low.
[59] But anyway, I hope everyone has a magical Christmas season.
[60] And thank you for listening.
[61] thank you again for tuning in every morning.
[62] This week we're going to be airing a variety of exclusive interviews, but as usual, we won't hesitate to drop a breaking news update for any major events.
[63] But for now, we are wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
