[2] Today, to end the pandemic in the U .S., the White House is trying to defy the timelines that have governed the development of a vaccine for decades.

[6] So, Katie, when does the hunt for a coronavirus, vaccine begin in the United States?
[7] Well, the vaccine companies started working on something back in January when the genetic sequence for the virus was first published, but it wasn't until later in February as it was spreading around the world.
[8] And as cases were growing in the United States, the broader conversation about when can we have a vaccine really began.
[9] Well, thank you very much.
[10] Today, we are meeting with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that biggest in the world.
