[1] It's Friday, July 28th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
[2] Special Counsel Jack Smith expanded the charges against former President Trump on Thursday evening in the classified documents case, adding new charges and one additional defendant.
[3] The new superseding indictment adds an additional charge that claims Trump asked a Mar -a -Lago employee to delete surveillance footage to, quote, prevent the footage from being provided to a federal grand jury.
[4] In addition, the prosecutors added another charge of retaining classified documents, bringing the count from 31 to 32.
[5] Prosecutors alleged that Trump retained a classified document related to an Iran attack and then shared it in a discussion at his Bedminster, New Jersey Golf Resort.
[6] In addition, a third defendant was named Carlos Dio Levera, who is described as a property manager at Marlago.
[7] The indictment claims he played a role in the effort to delete security footage, and in moving boxes of documents along with the already charged Trump aide Walt Nata.
[8] The charges allege that Trump, Nata, and Dio Levera, quote, did knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with each other and with others known and unknown to the grand jury to engage in misleading conduct.
[9] Dio Levera will be arra on Monday in Miami.
[10] Anheuser -Busch, the makers of Bud Light, have announced that they're laying off 2 % of the company's 19 ,000 employees or nearly 400 workers.
[11] The layoffs come months after Bud Light was replaced by Medello as America's number one selling beer.
[12] Since the Anheuser -Busch collaboration with Dylan Mulvaney back in April, the corporation has lost $27 billion in market value and has taken a hit in its popularity, dropping to 15th behind Corona, Guinness, and Sam Adams, according to a U -Gov poll.
[13] Missouri has been sued over its law that bans sex change procedures from being performed on children, making it the latest Republican -led state to face a challenge over a law shielding children from transgender procedures.
[14] The lawsuit, which was filed by left -wing legal groups, including the ACLU of Missouri and Lambda Legal, claims that Missouri's law is discriminatory.
[15] The law prohibits procedures like double mastectomies on girls who identify as boys and giving children cross -sex hormones and puberty blockers.
[16] New York City's fire commissioner testified on Thursday about the dangers of lithium ion batteries.
[17] The batteries are used to power the e -bikes and e -scooters that are currently blamed for at least 13 deaths and more than 130 fires.

[23] CEO Peter Flavel resigned just days after Coot's owner Nat West Group parted ways with its CEO, Alison Rose.
[24] Rose left after admitting that she had spoken with a reporter regarding Farage's personal details.
[25] A mutinous group of soldiers in Niger announced on state television Wednesday night that they have overthrown the country's president and ended the government.
[26] Today, the 26th of July, 2003, with the Defense and Security Forces, united with the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Fatherland, decided to put an end to the regime that you know.
[27] This follows the continued deterioration of the national security situation and poor economic and social governance.
