Hidden Brain XX
[0] Hey podcast listeners, Shankar here.
[1] We have an anniversary to celebrate.
[2] We've been bringing you Hidden Brain for one year now.
[3] We're so glad and thankful you've come along with us, and we've learned a lot about what you like and a lot about what we like.
[4] So now it's time to double down on that with a string of ambitious new episodes.
[5] Here's a sneak peek.
[6] We'll have moments of danger.
[7] I could tell as soon as I had jumped in that it was a weird situation.
[8] I felt uncomfortable as soon as I got through the doors.
[9] There was a knife fight, and the friend turned on him.
[10] I just saw him walk in, pick up a newspaper, and leave, at which point I screamed, he's outside.
[11] Moments of lives changed.
[12] Everyone turns out to be pretty interested in what they're doing with their life.
[13] And nobody was given a toolkit for how to figure that out.
[14] I was raised, you know, right every day, write 1 ,500 words a day, go to graduate school, and, you know, Twitter gave me back my voice.
[15] Moments of shocking coincidence.
[16] He's like, oh, you waited on me in Columbus, Ohio, and X year, the guy just froze.
[17] And he said, yeah, you're right.
[18] I think the odds are about 18 septillion to one against it happening.
[19] You wouldn't have gotten that scan done when you did if it hadn't been for the incident.
[20] But the incident was truly horrible.
[21] Yep.
[22] I don't know how to process that.
[23] You and me both.
[24] As always, we'll give you new ways of seeing the world and ways to rethink the challenges we all face.
[25] If you can't do anything about it, if it's not actionable, it's not a problem.
[26] It's a circumstance.
[27] And a lot of people have a problem that isn't a problem.
[28] It's just a circumstance.
[29] You're saying that this thing that we're relying on to keep ourselves safe to run security systems at airports and other places, that this is a fundamentally bad system?
[30] That is exactly what I'm telling you.
[31] It's about interpersonal relationships.
[32] You have to be honest and straightforward about what you need and why.
[33] And most importantly, I think you need to be human.
[34] Join us, starting September 27th.
