[21] God bless football, Mike Yeang.
[22] God bless football, Lucy.
[23] God bless college football, everybody.
[24] Oh, yes, Lucy is so excited.
[25] We are just a week away from the start of the college football season.
[26] Look at her.
[27] She's joining us from the Woodshed.
[28] I can't wait.
[29] Chris Felica, the bear is going to join us coming up because we have some unfinished business.
[30] We have our top 15, 16, or 17.
[31] Decent sports media members.
[32] go ahead, Billy.
[33] Well, so the way this was explained to me beforehand was we want to do a college football preview.
[34] So we're going to have on Lucy and we're going to have the bear.
[35] And the way you just set that up is Bears not previewing college football.
[36] He's just listing people that are nice in the media.
[37] He did that last week.
[38] Yeah.
[39] Listen, go to last week's episode.
[40] Bear was on.
[41] He previewed the upcoming college football season.
[42] We didn't have enough time to get to our top 15, 16 or 17 decent sports media members.
[43] So we're going to do it today.
[44] I mean, okay.
[45] What better time than right before college football season to randomly rank how nice people are.
[46] No, I think this is the last, Lucy, would you agree?
[47] This is the last week.
[48] I could do something like that because next week the game starts.
[49] So I figured I'd do it now, you know?
[50] I feel like you have from February to the end of July to do that.
[51] Okay.
[52] I feel like I could do it whenever I want, to be honest with you.
[53] Well, I feel like you would do it whenever you want.
[54] Lucy, I'd be interested because last week we did ask the bear.
[55] It's essentially a brand new sport college football.
[56] It's going to be unlike any season we've ever seen because it's the first season with the new rules and expanded playoff.
[57] What are your feelings headed into it?
[58] Because Bear had some concerns, as do I, about when you get to like Michigan, Ohio State, how much meaning will that game actually have?
[59] Will teams be sitting their starters?
[60] So I do, I am worried about stuff like that.
[61] I am not so much worried.
[62] Like, obviously, I'm excited.
[63] College football is back.
[64] That's my top emotion for the entire month of August.
[65] I think more than anything, I'm just, like, uncomfortable where I'm like, I don't really know what I'm getting into.
[66] Like, we've been looking at some scheduling down the season.
[67] I'm like, Oregon, Ohio State, what an awesome game.
[68] And then my brain's like, remember, Lucy, that's a conference game.
[69] That's a conference game.
[70] Miami Cal conference game.
[71] Like, my brain still can't really wrap my head around this whole, like, ever -changing.
[72] landscape.
[73] Honestly, like, I'm just so excited that college football act.
[74] I don't care.
[75] Put anybody in anyone's conference.
[76] Like, I'm watching.
[77] It doesn't matter.
[78] It's going to be a weird adjustment.
[79] I don't necessarily know if it's for the best, but like truly at this point, it's been eight months without it.
[80] I don't care at all.
[81] Just give me my college football.
[82] Do you know where you're going already for the season?
[83] Like, do you have your entire season already kind of planned out?
[84] Yeah.
[85] So I, I plan it out.
[86] The problem is they keep saying no. So we're going to try to make it work.
[87] But, yes, I list out a couple games each week that I think would work.
[88] But the schools keep saying, we don't want you here, Lucy.
[89] And that's super rude of them.
[90] That is kind of rude, yeah.
[91] They say it just like that.
[92] They don't say it exactly like that.
[93] But I can tell that's what they mean, you know.
[94] Tell me a school who has said that.
[95] I want to give me one.
[96] But don't cause yourself any, yeah, don't do any damage to yourself professionally.
[97] But tell us which schools we have to hate.
[98] Yeah, let me do the damage.
[99] It's a team I already am not.
[100] fan of.
[101] That's all I'll say.
[102] And you could probably guess.
[103] Does it rhyme with Shrim, Shrim, Shride?
[104] No, it actually was not them.
[105] Alabama, please say yes.
[106] Please say yes.
[107] What do you have it rhyming with again?
[108] Shrimm, shrimp, shriad.
[109] We love the shrimp, trim, frim shried.
[110] Those are real words.
[111] Roll shmride.
[112] Mike, yeah, you had a question.
[113] Shrimm, shrimp, shri.
[114] Shriam, shrimp, shrimp, shrine.
[115] Lucy, the top 25 AP poll came out, and I was looking at the top 12, and I was like, that'd be a pretty cool playoff.
[116] But I'm looking at it, I'm like, probably a bunch of these teams aren't going to make it.
[117] Who's like the teams that you're like, nope, they're not going to make it?
[118] They're out.
[119] That's a good question.
[120] I would say, well, it's very weird because you say, okay, the top 12 aren't going to make it.
[121] And then my brain's like, well, Lucy, only four teams make it.
[122] That's not true anymore.
[123] There are 12 teams that make it.
[124] I don't think Michigan is going to make it.
[125] I don't think Michigan is a bad team by any means.
[126] I think they are a great team, but they are taking, they have lost more than almost any team in the country, not including their head coach.
[127] So they're a team I'm questioned about Florida State's the same way.
[128] Like, I don't know if there's been a team that's lost as much as Florida State and Michigan have.
[129] The whole thing is super odd.
[130] And like, I'm just, I don't know how this is going to go.
[131] All I can say right now is I guarantee you they're going to put Notre Dame in no matter what happens.
[132] Mm -hmm.
[133] Or is it Schmoderdame?
[134] When they put Notre Dame in, is there a possibility of you covering that?
[135] Or have you been told, Go Away, Lucy?
[136] No, Notre Dame has, we've never talked to them before, but I assume they're really nice.
[137] They're Catholic.
[138] Did you see they're going to have their own hard knocks?
[139] Yeah, I did.
[140] Did you see that Jessica's going to be in it?
[141] I don't know if I'm going to say that.
[142] No?
[143] What?
[144] Breaking news.
[145] I really hope I'm allowed to say that.
[146] I hope Jess is in my goal.
[147] I mean no she is going to be in it really wow he's the head coach now lucy when you think about it notary name with their own television contract and being you know staying independent never joining a conference they were really ahead of the times right it makes me so angry because like as a kid i was taught to hate Notre Dame like i remember my dad sitting me down and been like they think they're too good for the big 10 like you cannot you cannot approve of that and now they had the whole thing right the entire time they get to be in a conference when they want to be.
[148] And they don't have to outside of that.
[149] And because of that, if they schedule two to three good games a year where they're automatically a top 10 team every year, they have an automatic bid to the playoff.
[150] Right.
[151] I think most people would say your dad didn't do that to you, but I actually believe that conversation happened.
[152] And it happened just like that with you.
[153] Yes.
[154] Absolutely did.
[155] It was like, I'm like seven years old.
[156] Like, all right, got it.
[157] He took you down to that woodshed that you're in right now.
[158] And he explains you.
[159] I want to do some Lucy or Goosey with you, if you don't mind.
[160] Nice.
[161] Yeah, I have a couple here.
[162] So I'll get started here with Miami being ranked 19th in the preseason.
[163] Lucy or Goosey?
[164] Goosey because preseason polls don't matter.
[165] Preseason polls are never right.
[166] Like we thought TCU was going to be, I didn't think TCU is.
[167] going to be great last year.
[168] Don't.
[169] I'm smarter than everybody else.
[170] But like last year we had TCU is a top 25 team.
[171] It doesn't really matter.
[172] There's always a top 10 team that falls out.
[173] Miami is talented.
[174] They have a pretty easy schedule.
[175] I just, I don't trust Mario Cristobal at all.
[176] Like not even a little bit.
[177] Not you're, you know what?
[178] The same game management issues are still going to last.
[179] So whatever, put them at 19.
[180] They'll fall out when they lose Georgia Tech or something.
[181] You don't think they'll make the playoff?
[182] No. Okay, good.
[183] Wow.
[184] Florida Gators head coach, Billy Napier, will last the season.
[185] Lucy or Goosey?
[186] I'm going to go Lucy, very not confidently.
[187] I don't know if you guys have taken a look at Florida's schedule.
[188] It's disgusting.
[189] Yeah, brutal.
[190] They have seven teams in the top 25 on their schedule.
[191] Like, they, if they win seven games, they should probably be a playoff team with the schedule they have.
[192] I don't think Florida's very good.
[193] Like, I think they have a lot of talent.
[194] I just remember watching them last year being like, I don't know if I've ever seen such like an undisciplined team.
[195] But with how hard that schedule is and with how high his buyout is, I think they might wait till the end of the season.
[196] All right.
[197] Georgia Clemson is the game.
[198] Lucy is most looking forward to opening week.
[199] Lucy or Goosey?
[200] There's so much going on week one.
[201] There's so much going on.
[202] Notre Dame, Texas, A &M.
[203] Notre Dame, Texas, A &M, Penn State, West Virginia.
[204] like their LSU USC there's so much happening that it's like yeah the week one's always the best though because we college football gets like Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday a Monday night game the Monday night game is so great last year it was Clemson Duke it delivered it was perfect so I'm really excited I think it's Florida State this year yeah unless you USC sounds like a good game to go to no no we didn't didn't get denied from them.
[205] LSU and USC have both said yes to us previously in the past.
[206] Oh, okay.
[207] We're fans for life.
[208] Billy's going to find this school out if it kills them.
[209] Was it U .M?
[210] Or forget I'm playing this game in five minutes.
[211] Oh, whoa!
[212] I'm U .M!
[213] As in the University of Miami?
[214] Mike Bryant can't get you access?
[215] No, no, no. Miami didn't say no. We aren't going to ask my name.
[216] Florida.
[217] We are going to ask Miami.
[218] Florida loves us.
[219] I'm a huge gator.
[220] They sent me a bunch of stuff.
[221] Yeah, didn't they send you a?
[222] care package.
[223] They sent me the craziest care package of my life.
[224] By the way, if you want to send us a care package, hashtag send us stuff.
[225] And Lucy, I don't know if you're going to be joining us during the regular season as frequently you're welcome to.
[226] I would love to have you on every week if you'd like and kind of tell us the ins and outs of college football.
[227] And also, while you're around, maybe people can send us stuff.
[228] Right.
[229] Yes.
[230] Please send us stuff.
[231] And I think I'm supposed to be around.
[232] Good.
[233] Okay.
[234] I have you joining us every week just so you know.
[235] I mean, I haven't taught to anyone, but I'm just planning on it.
[236] Okay.
[237] I'll put it in the calendar.
[238] Ryan Day will last the season at Ohio State, Lucy or Goosey?
[239] He'll last the season.
[240] I'm Lucy on that.
[241] Ohio State is probably the second most talented team in the country behind Georgia.
[242] Like, they put together a transfer portal class that I don't think the college football gods could have imagined it's so good.
[243] Ohio State should make it through the season undefeated.
[244] They should beat Michigan.
[245] But if they don't beat Michigan, he's done at the end of the year.
[246] All right.
[247] Oregon is the best team in the Big Ten.
[248] That sounds weird.
[249] Lucy or Goosey?
[250] I think I'm Lucy on this one.
[251] Same.
[252] I think they're really good.
[253] Oregon, Ohio State, October 12th is pretty much going to be the battle for the Big Ten.
[254] I know people are throwing Pinsate in the conversation, but I don't necessarily think that PIN State is up to their caliber.
[255] I have said this forever.
[256] I'm sure we could go back and find it.
[257] Dan Lannning is the next class of coach.
[258] He is the next Nick Sabin, Kirby Smart, sort of like era around him.
[259] So I think that this Oregon team is so good.
[260] They picked up Dylan Gabriel in the portal from Oklahoma.
[261] have Dante Moore as a backup to him.
[262] Like, their quarterback room is so good.
[263] They have so much talent.
[264] And, like, they have done NIL so well that Oregon is a really tough team to beat.
[265] My only concern with Oregon is you are now in a completely different conference that plays a completely different style of football than the Pac -12.
[266] But I think they are so talented that they'll be good.
[267] Four or more teams will make the playoff out of the SEC.
[268] Lucy or Goosey?
[269] I'm going to go Goosey.
[270] I think that this year will see what.
[271] So you have five automatic bids, including a group of five school, which leaves seven spots left.
[272] I think three of them will go to the Big Ten and the other maybe three will go SEC and then you'll have one left over.
[273] I really don't foresee anybody in the Big 12 ACC and definitely not Group of Five entering the playoff.
[274] This playoff is pretty much molded for the Big Ten and the SEC and Notre Dame.
[275] Alabama gets in, Lucy or Goosey?
[276] Alabama will get into the cloud.
[277] Yeah, I agree.
[278] Alabama is going to have a drop off from 12 wins to 10 wins.
[279] All right, you're good.
[280] Yeah, 10 wins will get them in every year.
[281] That used to matter.
[282] Oh, you survive in Tuscaloosa.
[283] And the best part is when they get 10 wins and not 12, their fans are going to be like, we got to burn this thing to the ground.
[284] Everything's over.
[285] Yep, no doubt.
[286] October 12th.
[287] You mentioned Oregon, Ohio State?
[288] Yeah, what's happening?
[289] I'm going to cover that one?
[290] We asked.
[291] We're waiting on an answer.
[292] You don't have an answer yet?
[293] We're waiting on an answer.
[294] So they have not said no. I love Eugene.
[295] You know, they filmed Animal House there.
[296] Love it.
[297] Oh, wow.
[298] I take Georgia over the field to win the national championship, Lucy or Goosey.
[299] Absolutely, Lucy.
[300] It's right now, like the things, the way things are panning out, It feels like it's going to be Georgia, Ohio State.
[301] They seem to be the two best teams.
[302] However, Georgia has a road game at Texas.
[303] That is going to be such an insanely big game.
[304] I believe Georgia also plays, I don't think they play Alabama this year.
[305] Georgia is so much more talented than everyone else.
[306] Crazy.
[307] So much more talented than everyone else.
[308] And they were last year.
[309] There was just one game that you lose to Nick Saban, you slept up and now you're out.
[310] That's not the case this year.
[311] If Georgia slips up, they will survive and they will win the national championship.
[312] We should take the under with every Iowa game this year.
[313] Lucy or Goosey?
[314] Lucy.
[315] Iowa held their little like scrimmage thing.
[316] And Iowa's quarterbacks combined for 45 yards.
[317] Stop laughing so hard.
[318] Seven for 21 from Cade McNamara.
[319] It's a big day.
[320] Hide in the good stuff for the regular season.
[321] It's one of his best.
[322] So, yeah, it's, I was really excited.
[323] for college football and i like convinced myself that iowa was going to make the playoff that's all gone right but you know how this works like iowa they always start like four now everyone starts telling us their coach yeah he's the he should be the best he'd be the best NFL coach of any college because then they lose like three out of the next four they fall onto the top 25 and no one talks about kirk ferrets anymore and then we end up ranked 23 yeah yeah iowa should start the season 23 and in the season 23 if there was a 23 team playoff they be in every year Lucy.
[324] Every year.
[325] All right.
[326] We're looking forward to this, at least in my mind, every week.
[327] But you and Billy will figure that out.
[328] Thank you, Lucy.
[329] You're so excited.
[330] Look at you.
[331] You're glowing.
[332] I got my book.
[333] Oh, my God, a book.
[334] She has a book.
[335] What is that?
[336] It's my Phil Steele.
[337] Oh, my God, the Phil Steele.
[338] Billy has a tune of the Phil.
[339] I take notes.
[340] I annotate it.
[341] I want to turn Billy into Phil.
[342] Bill Steele.
[343] Bill Steele.
[344] who wait which cover did you get i got the acc one which one do you have uh depends on where you buy it what do you have i was on billy's confused because he doesn't know who's in what conference anymore oh my god i was on it i think i got big ten oh that's nice yeah i got a cc it was kind of a bummer where'd you buy yours billy online oh okay all right lucy we appreciate it uh we will talk to you hopefully next week uh what an exciting time, college football right around the corner.
[345] Thank you.
[346] Thanks.

[357] There he is.
[358] What's going on?
[359] What up?
[360] Much.
[361] Welcome back.
[362] Thank you.
[363] Thank you.
[364] Billy is very confused.
[365] As to why we're having you back this week.
[366] That's so rude.
[367] That's not the truth.
[368] No, in fairness to you, Billy, you were not here last week.
[369] And you're like, hey, we had bear on last week.
[370] but you didn't know that we teased a top 16 list.
[371] I mean, I was, I was more confused by Stugat's announcing to me that you just refer to Don Chula as the cheater.
[372] He is a cheater.
[373] All right, explain it to him because Billy wasn't here last week.
[374] And I don't care if you come.
[375] You can come on every single week and tell the same story and call Don Chula a cheater.
[376] But explain to Billy why you think he's a cheater.
[377] Because he always, he had the rule, the competition committee in his pocket.
[378] If he didn't like a rule, it got changed.
[379] And most notably, before the 1982 AFC championship game, when Miami was going to get 47 inches of rain, he didn't put a tarp on the field to keep the field in playing conditions because he knew Freeman McNeil and the jets were going to run all over him and go to the Super Bowl.
[380] And instead, he'd be, he's like, let me make this field a muck because that will help my team by my slow plotting team, that I have and it sent an 11 -year -old Chris Felica to his room very unhappy for dates.
[381] How old are you now, Bear?
[382] Do the math yourself.
[383] I'll put you out, 52.
[384] Let it go, man. No, no, no, no, no. You guys have had plenty of winning since then, right?
[385] Hang on to that hate.
[386] Wait, Philly said we've had plenty of wins since that.
[387] You've had plenty of things to celebrate since as the Jets fans.
[388] The Jets have had plenty of things to celebrate since then.
[389] Name five, Billy.
[390] Name five.
[391] With Mark Sanchez, yeah.
[392] Yeah, that was big.
[393] 85, 85.
[394] How about that?
[395] No, 86 it was, right?
[396] When the jet started 10 and 1.
[397] Yep.
[398] And went to Miami on Monday night.
[399] And the loser Joe Walton kicked a field goal when they were down like 45 -0 to avoid getting shut out.
[400] Yes.
[401] Yeah.
[402] Yeah, it was embarrassing, yes.
[403] What have we celebrate?
[404] We celebrate signing guys who don't work out, like Brett Fulhar, Aaron Rogers.
[405] Exactly.
[406] Let's trade for Hassan Reddick, who wants a new contract, and we know he wants a new contract.
[407] He's a malcontent wherever he's been, and it hasn't even play a game, and now he wants to be, now he wants out.
[408] Do you get bitter bear when you see people who fail that the Jets go on and succeed in other teams?
[409] Like I, I can see a world, I could see a world of Sam Darnold takes the Vikings to the playoffs this year.
[410] I bet Bryce Huff to lead the NFL in Saxis here at 100 to 1 because that is perfect Jets.
[411] Perfect Jets is a guy who on the Jets.
[412] You trade for the guy on the team that he's going, that you bring in Husson Reddick and then he goes, okay, we'll take Bryce Huff and bring him in here.
[413] You know Bryce Huff is going to have a great year with Fangio, and now Husson Reddick is even going to play for the Jets, even though I think he ultimately will.
[414] But like Bryce Huff leading the league in Saxis here, I would make that bet in a heartbeat.
[415] I would take a flyer bear on Sam Darnel winning MVP.
[416] Oh, that's insane.
[417] MVP, that's crazy.
[418] Sam Darnal over passing yards for the year.
[419] Absolutely.
[420] Throwing to Jefferson and Addison without a doubt.
[421] You guys are bumming me out.
[422] Sorry.
[423] Can't we do something about good people?
[424] Like, yeah, I'm excited for the Jets.
[425] Can't we do something else?
[426] I'm excited for Jets too.
[427] All right.
[428] Right, before we get, before, listen, Bear is excited about the Jets.
[429] It's the most excited he's been since last year.
[430] Last year, when I sent to Texas in August, I'm far too excited about the season.
[431] We know how this is going to end, and then I had to send that around to the same exact group for, four plays into the season.
[432] And we will get to the good people in sports media, which is why the, which is why Bear is on with us, because we teased it.
[433] I had a top five.
[434] The way this started was, I asked Bear to come on last week.
[435] He said, of course, I said, you're one of the good.
[436] guys at sports media.
[437] You're in my top five.
[438] And then I realized I couldn't really get to five.
[439] And Bear said, let's do this on the air.
[440] I have a top 10.
[441] And then I said, you know what?
[442] I've thought about it.
[443] I too have a top 10.
[444] Then he texted me this past week saying my 10 has become 16.
[445] And now I've had to come up with 16 names.
[446] And that is hard.
[447] Very difficult to ask to come up with 16 decent sports media members.
[448] What does that say about our industry?
[449] It was funny because I think when I came on, I think I said I either had 10 or 12 or maybe like an elite eight.
[450] And then I was like, oh, I forgot this person.
[451] Oh, yeah, I should probably put that person on too.
[452] And oh, yeah, and so I'm like, you know what, let's just go like NCAA tournament suite 16.
[453] Okay.
[454] Was there anyone, is there anyone on your list that you had to put on the list just because you felt like you see them all the time.
[455] You had to.
[456] You don't really like them, but you had to put them on the list.
[457] no no i i did not do that like it's funny because i could have i could have put kirk on there who i'm great friends with but i didn't put him on there just because i'm great friends and i know not i know kirk is not for for everybody and i i know he can he can show a little angst every now but but kirk is a great guy and he's a lifelong friend but uh no i did not put him in my uh my 16 almost because i'm like almost because i'm such a tough grader and the were so many options that were just like really this person's like forget it's salt of the earth listen if it makes you feel better lebiturne's not on mine so okay bear before before we move on from kirk for a second can i ask you i read uh not too long ago an announcement that his dog is getting a show now and as someone who's kind of trying to make his way through this whole media game the idea that a dog is being given a show really grinds my gears not going to lie epitism yeah nepotism really i have to opt to uh i had a Petitism.
[458] Wow.
[459] Petitism.
[460] It's so, it's weird.
[461] Like, like, I knew he was so passionate about, about his dogs, but, like, I didn't realize, like, last year, like, it got to the level that it did.
[462] But, but good for him.
[463] So I'm sure he hit him and his sons and his, I'll be all right.
[464] Yeah.
[465] It's kind of like, it's kind of like the old argument.
[466] Like, how can someone pay someone that much money?
[467] Like, hey, you're worth what someone's going to pay you?
[468] there you go uh all right we'll get to this list billy was saying right before you came on that uh this is a masterclass by jim harbott in distraction the michigan stuff over there colin kappernick is going to be my coordinator do you agree didn't didn't the offer come like a couple of months ago too and like he just like hasn't commented on it or like hasn't made a decision like i thought someone said that that so he offered he offered capernick the position yes a little was going.
[469] He's still waiting here.
[470] That was under the radar.
[471] But now he has ratcheted it up because he's got.
[472] Harbaugh is it exactly in the dark in what's going on at Michigan?
[473] He knows something's coming.
[474] How about that?
[475] How about Michigan saying Jim Harbour is going to be our honorary captain in the season opener after like the notice of allegations came out and like Sharon Moore is mentioned in there.
[476] Jim Harbaugh is coming back for our national title.
[477] an hour and it'll be our honorary cat like maybe maybe just i don't know and then i think they kind of realized yeah this probably isn't the best look and we don't want to be dealing with this so right you got you got your chip you did you did whatever you did and i think he's i think he's going to go i think you'll be just fine out in l a maybe not this year but that's what the charges needed just a kick in the end billy you'll love this uh bear gave us a a bronze, silver, and gold medal picks, season -long picks last week.
[478] One of them, Mikey, was the Chargers, right?
[479] Chargers under.
[480] And right after he says it, Justin Herbert is reported to be out for the preseason and minus a time in the regular season.
[481] And Bear is texting me like, and I'm like, why, it helps your bet.
[482] It was a great bet.
[483] Like, it's, that's why the Chargers and the Jets are like in the same family.
[484] we can't have thanks right the chargers their family's slightly better that's all i'm saying like they you know they left their house their family abandoned them i wish the jets would leave that house i mean for crying oh come back where's she so i want shay stadium 142 j that's where a seat's oh it was beautiful yeah i like the idea the jets playing at an actual demolish shay stadium like whoever wants to come can come this is what you get they just You deserve it, right?
[485] All right, Bear.
[486] So we'll go, you go, and then I go.
[487] We'll go one, one, one, one, one, okay?
[488] Okay, I'll go.
[489] I did it alphabetically.
[490] Okay.
[491] Alphabetically, I just, listen, this is in no particular order.
[492] I just came up with 16 decent members of the sports media.
[493] That's it.
[494] Okay.
[495] I did it alphabetically because I didn't want to rank one to 16.
[496] I just like, here's an order.
[497] Oh, shit.
[498] I have 17.
[499] I got to get rid of one.
[500] Go ahead.
[501] It's okay.
[502] You're right.
[503] You're right.
[504] All right.
[505] You can have a tie for 16th.
[506] Okay, go ahead.
[507] That'll work.
[508] Adam Amin is my fur.
[509] Adam Amin is just a great dude.
[510] He's so down to earth.
[511] He's got, I remember, like, Adam, like, he was seeking me out for, like, travel advice, and it was like, you're amazing.
[512] Like, you could do this, like, plan people's trips.
[513] I hit all your spots, and you see him at the football meetings.
[514] He just kind of, like, sneaks up behind you and just.
[515] goes out of the way to like give you a hug or whatever arm around like just a super super human being adam okay so i love you we have to just like say the name be very quick on the description of them otherwise we will be here for four hours okay okay so here we go uh for me first on the list no particular order tony raleigh uh around the horn tony raleigh one of the nicest people i have ever met, not just in the sports media in my entire life.
[516] Okay, so I start with Tony Realt.
[517] Jules Breach, who I met for the first time in L .A. last month covering Euros and Copa.
[518] What a sweetheart.
[519] Okay.
[520] I'm going to go Scott Van Pelt.
[521] I have become, I want to say, friendly -ish with Scott Van Pelt.
[522] He wrote a chapter of my book.
[523] We talked a lot of golf.
[524] We bonded over talking about our dogs.
[525] I'm going to go with Scott Van Pelt, who has always been a supporter of mine and a big supporter of the Dan Levitard show with Stugat's SVP for me. Yes, Billy.
[526] I love SVP.
[527] Check out the pod that he did with John Stewart where they talk about the dogs as well.
[528] It's awesome.
[529] Yeah.
[530] Yeah.
[531] Number three for me. Hold on, Billy's got a question.
[532] Can we do a thing and this is in an SVP specific?
[533] This is just so if one of you says this person's nice and then the other Everyone's like, well, that person's actually a real piece of crap.
[534] Feel free to interrupt the other one and say that this person's actually a bad person.
[535] Now I feel bad because SBP isn't on my list.
[536] Oh, wow.
[537] I got you thinking, right.
[538] Well, Stu has 17, so you can make 17 if you want.
[539] Yeah, go ahead.
[540] I mean, I actually took it down to 16.
[541] I took Pablo off.
[542] So, I mean, no. I love Pablo.
[543] I'm joking.
[544] I'm joking.
[545] All right.
[546] So go ahead.
[547] Who's next for you?
[548] Mike Breen.
[549] Oh, he's on my list.
[550] too.
[551] Good.
[552] Perfect.
[553] He's right in the exact spot.
[554] Mike Green is the reason I am in this industry.
[555] Mike Bright worked a courtside game.
[556] Nick's Heat, 1992 Miami Arena, did stats for WFAN, him and Clyde, said to him, said to him, hey, any chance to an internship at FAA?
[557] During the summer and between years from Long Island, yada, yada, absolutely call me when we get back from the road trip.
[558] It did hook me up with the people at FAN.
[559] People from FAM moved up to ESPN, and that's how I got in the door of ESPN.
[560] So Mike Breen, always I am indebted to him.
[561] He is a decent human being, fundamentally decent human being.
[562] He's genuine and he's caring.
[563] He's on my list as well.
[564] I will tell you a quick story.
[565] We once had Mike Breen on the podcast.
[566] I made up an excuse that I had to go do something.
[567] I think it was an emergency.
[568] What I was really doing, what Mike Breen was on hold talking to Mike E .A. over here for 15 minutes is I was in.
[569] interviewing Jake Ball.
[570] Love you, Mike.
[571] All right, next bear.
[572] Lee Corso.
[573] Lee is Lee is Lee.
[574] It's so funny because even last year when I was gone, like he would still call me regularly, check in, call me in the offseason, miss you so much, a show misses you so much, miss having you around.
[575] I hope you and Molly are doing great.
[576] I always asked about my wife.
[577] Lee is 89, and God bless him.
[578] And maybe he had many more birthdays.
[579] All right.
[580] We knew that was a lot to be on your list.
[581] Let's go.
[582] My next one is Jay Billis.
[583] Jay Billis has turned into a really good friend.
[584] Love him.
[585] Always available to us.
[586] Has been super supportive of both me and Dan, the entire show.
[587] Jay Billis is next for me. Your turn, Bear.
[588] Excellent choice.
[589] I'm going to go a little bit down to Backo Road.
[590] Eubert Davis.
[591] Ooh, Uber Davis.
[592] Now coached North Carolina.
[593] You, I got a few people on here, but you may not ever meet a more salt of the earth human being than Uber Davis.
[594] The way he feels about faith, family, great sense of humor, just a salt of the earth human being.
[595] All right.
[596] Billy, do you know who Hubert Davis is?
[597] Yeah.
[598] Okay.
[599] Elaborate a little bit.
[600] Well, no, we got to keep it moving.
[601] You're right, you're right.
[602] We're out to go each.
[603] Apologies.
[604] Next up for me, Israel Gutierrez.
[605] One of the nicest people I have ever met in this entire industry or anywhere, for that matter, is real goodierrez.
[606] Next on my list, bear.
[607] Iron Eagle.
[608] I mean, is awesome.
[609] Jesus.
[610] Jesus.
[611] We're one for one or one now.
[612] We're each leaving someone off.
[613] I left SEP up and you left I and off.
[614] Yeah.
[615] I love it.
[616] It was waiting to me. Hey, Ho -a -Bair, I got to follow Billy's face whenever he makes this face.
[617] What's the problem with Iron Eagle?
[618] We had him on once.
[619] He wasn't that nice to me, to be perfectly honest with you.
[620] Well, see, that's in the rules of the parameter.
[621] You were saying, like, if we disagree, you can call someone out.
[622] Ian was at F -A -N.
[623] When I interned there, I've known him since.
[624] He's got a great sense of humor.
[625] I am an Iron Eagle fan.
[626] All right.
[627] Next up for me is Christopher Mad Dogg Russo.
[628] Christopher Mad Dog Russo.
[629] I mean, listen, I loved him before I ever met him, before I spent any time with him.
[630] And now that I have done both, met him and spent quality time with him, I love him even more.
[631] And I am co -hosting your show next summer.
[632] I'm looking forward to that.
[633] Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[634] I'm jealous.
[635] I have not seen him in a couple of years, unfortunately.
[636] But the last time I did see him, he actually remembered my name.
[637] I like when I was, because obviously he and Francesa were used it usually at the end when I was there.
[638] But yeah, awesome dude.
[639] And the other day, I actually pulled up the Pac -Man Jones rant on YouTube because I needed a laugh.
[640] Oh, wow.
[641] I think Billy having met Christopher Maddog Rousseau at Radio Row for a couple of years now, I think Billy would acknowledge Chris Rousseau as a nice man, no?
[642] Yeah.
[643] Yeah, yeah.
[644] He likes them.
[645] I do like it.
[646] People see the on air, all that stuff.
[647] But all the great dude.
[648] That's a good one right there.
[649] Lafonso Ellis, who I, it's like, if Hubert Davis is like salt of the earth, Lafonso is like one B. Right.
[650] What right to eat that?
[651] All right.
[652] The most polite announcer that I ever worked with in the way he treated the people around him, research and people that helped him out.
[653] All right.
[654] Next up for me, just tend to go.
[655] Mike Golick Jr. Mike Golick Jr. has turned into not only is he on this list.
[656] but he has turned in to just a great friend.
[657] He is always there for me, and I love him dearly.
[658] So Mike Golick, Jr., for me, you're up there.
[659] Haley Hartung, never see her without a smile on her face.
[660] Okay, perfect.
[661] I like that.
[662] That was very quick.
[663] Up next for me, Dominique Foxworth, one of my favorite people on the planet.
[664] Dominic Foxworth comes in in my top 16 or 17, decent sports media members.
[665] Dominic Foxworth is the smartest, coolest, guy anytime he walks into any room.
[666] And he is also the sweetest, one of the sweetest guys I have ever met.
[667] So Dominique Foxworth for me. I unfortunately have not met him yet, but I may I will.
[668] We'll get that done.
[669] Yes.
[670] Stu Holden is someone who I met at Fox last year when I first got there and working on the World Cup and the soccer coverage.
[671] What a just a great to just, he just kind of took me, I don't want to say under his, under his wing, but like, immediately was like, okay, yeah, this guy, we kind of hit it off right away.
[672] So I am a big stew -hold fan, just a good dude, loves his kids, takes his kids to a ton of soccer events as well, good family man and just a decent human being.
[673] Went out to do, like, dinner with him a bunch in Australia.
[674] Just love every minute.
[675] spend with him.
[676] All right.
[677] Next up for me is, I don't think anyone will object to this because he's the nicest man in sports media.
[678] That is Tim Kirchin.
[679] Tim Kirchin is the nicest man. You left him off.
[680] You left him.
[681] How do you leave off Tim Kirch?
[682] Oh, there's my 17th right there.
[683] What is the matter with you?
[684] And out of here, Scott Bear Felt.
[685] Yeah, sorry, SVP.
[686] Yeah, I feel like out of here.
[687] Also, alphabetically, the Golix didn't make Bears list, I noticed, too.
[688] The goal is all.
[689] Kirk should absal.
[690] Yeah.
[691] Yeah, you whiffed.
[692] It's okay.
[693] All right.
[694] Go ahead.
[695] Mel piper.
[696] Oh, wow.
[697] I left off Mel.
[698] God damn it.
[699] Great answer.
[700] This is good.
[701] Like we're like we're like going up in each other each time.
[702] Well, what's good is I think there are 20 decent sports media members.
[703] Yeah.
[704] Surprising.
[705] Yes.
[706] I am not choosing anyone on.
[707] this show, by the way, just so you know.
[708] You know how I feel about you, all of you.
[709] Okay, Billy, Mikey, yeah, you got it?
[710] Whatever.
[711] Next up for me, Greg Cody.
[712] Greg Cody.
[713] There are very few people in my life.
[714] What?
[715] I'm not choosing anyone on this show and you're in.
[716] I met God bless.
[717] I met God bless football.
[718] What are you talking about?
[719] I met God bless football.
[720] Greg Cody, I am telling you, there are very few people in my life.
[721] You're one of them that when I see them, I smile.
[722] Greg Cody has that impact on me. He just makes me smile.
[723] He makes me happy.
[724] Greg Cody's not all God bless.
[725] Oh, gosh.
[726] That was good.
[727] Perfect timing.
[728] All right, Greg Cody for me. Go ahead.
[729] Zuban Mahenti.
[730] he's just a sweetheart of a guy like...
[731] AJZ.
[732] Always would like, he would be like renown for sending just long, well thought out, heartfelt emails either, like, not necessarily feedback but what a great job or here's an idea i ran into him outside the stopping shop here in connecticut a couple of months ago for the first time i'd seen him since i left and just we sat outside and talked for half hour yeah all right i love a good stopping job yeah he seems like he could shed a good tear of joy yes yes it's a great way to put it that's perfect billy uh next up for me is and i think everyone on our show would agree with this uh stan van gundy Stan Van Gundy, they don't get nicer than Stan Van Gundy.
[733] Genuine, sincere, awesome, great, supports me and Dan, supports everyone on our show.
[734] Stan Van Gundy, one of the great people in sports media.
[735] Another one, great people in sports media.
[736] And again, this is someone who I have never heard anyone say a bad word about, so I'm sure Billy's going to say something bad right now about Bo Raftery.
[737] Oh, onions.
[738] Billy say something bad.
[739] all right next up for me um this guy has turned into to a really close friend uh not just at sports media there are sports media friends and your actual friends this man has turned into an actual friend i don't view him as a sports media member anymore i just view him as my friend uh and he's a great guy anyone who's gotten to know him uh i think would agree and for me it's adam shepter Adam Schaefter is on my list.
[740] Yeah, I like Adam a lot.
[741] And our time on the draft and stuff, it was great.
[742] I wish I did get to reach that level of a friendship like you have with him.
[743] You got to meet his mom.
[744] She's a trip.
[745] Really?
[746] And it's number one on my list.
[747] Sheffty's great.
[748] Actually, ironically, next on my list, a colleague of Shepty's Laura Rulloch.
[749] Laura is great.
[750] like Laura like and I will like exchange like a couple of like like recipe like suggestions or or Laura's awesome.
[751] All right.
[752] Next up for me, by far the nicest sports center anchor of all time, Randy Scott.
[753] Randy Scott is thoughtful.
[754] He is caring.
[755] He was there for me when my mom passed away called me. We talked.
[756] Randy Scott has turned into a to a good friend and therefore he is on my list.
[757] I always enjoyed my interactions with him as well.
[758] Yes, it was great.
[759] Jenny Taft on my list.
[760] Again, someone who no one at Fox will ever say a bad word about it.
[761] I mentioned how Kaylee always has a smile on her face.
[762] Jenny is someone who always has a smile on her face as well.
[763] I remember at the recent football seminar, like we had both been away for like five weeks and all we wanted to do was get home.
[764] And that was a day like the airline systems crashed and we're like, are we going to get the hell out of?
[765] here today, unfortunately.
[766] We did, but yeah, Jenny's awesome.
[767] All right.
[768] Next up for me here is Stephen A. Smith.
[769] I know you see the rough exterior.
[770] I know he's always screaming.
[771] He's always yelling.
[772] But when you get Stephen A. in a private moment and you just talk to him, that man is calm, cool, thoughtful, genuine, real.
[773] He is a good man. Stephen A. Smith, and I need him to do something for my book.
[774] So that's why he's on the list.
[775] Stephen A. Smith.
[776] You just saw my tagline.
[777] So I was going to say, did he write a chapter of your book, too?
[778] No, he did it.
[779] You did that.
[780] I mean, you're the best thank you oh no you're not number one though on my list there did lebitard write the forward yet are we going to actually get a copy of this thing that i can actually read it i got to chop it down it's longer than the book the forward i mean it's enough i mean jesus christ write your own book for crying out loud all right who's next for you bear we're speed it up they're getting mad at me i can know i think he did speed it up we're 10 minutes over 10 minutes over this is like yeah who cares this is like this is like olympic soccer stoppage time we we can add as much stoppage time 16 minutes argentine what was that that was insane 16 minutes is ridiculous and it wasn't enough he thought the match was over they went back in the locker they postponed it more minutes let's go this is why no one trust soccer it's weird man yeah Dickie Dickey Dickey V is a gem of a man, just awesome.
[781] The things he is done for me personally and professionally and the way he treated how he went how he was like go from ESPN and like Dick Dickey V is a legend and outside of anything that he does on the air for cancer for the Jimmy Vee found it like Dickie B is legend.
[782] One of the greats.
[783] Next up for me is Mina Kimes.
[784] I don't think anyone has a bad word to say about Mina Kimes.
[785] Her football knowledge is second to none, but as a person, I think really, probably second to none.
[786] Mina Kimes is just an amazing human being.
[787] And I am happy to call her friend and so happy that she's been a part of what me and Dan do for a long, long time.
[788] So Mina Kahn, for me. I love her on the air.
[789] I love what she brings to all those shows.
[790] And I'm happy to hear that she's just as great of a person off the air as she is on the air with what she does, because I'm a, I am a massive fan.
[791] So, actually, someone who has worked with Mina in the past and is still at ESPN, Field Yates.
[792] He might look like he's 17, but Field, field is, again, another guy always smiling.
[793] Field used to be the guy I always used to run into, like at the gym, like early in the morning before we got going, and we would just shoot, we would just shoot it all, hit it off tremendously.
[794] And it's funny, even since I've left, I've kept in touch with him and texting him.
[795] And it's like nothing, nothing's changed.
[796] So, yeah, field is awesome.
[797] All right.
[798] So I am doing this on a fly here.
[799] I realized I have left Diana Rossini off.
[800] So my list, she has naming rights to the list.
[801] This is the Diana Rossini top 15 decent people in sports media.
[802] Good cover.
[803] Good, good, good, good cover there.
[804] Wait, way to, way to correct yourself there.
[805] All right, two to go here.
[806] I have at number two.
[807] I have Chris Felica, the bear.
[808] at number two.
[809] I'm honored.
[810] I appreciate that.
[811] You probably wonder why you're not number one.
[812] No, no, no. No particular order.
[813] I'm wondering how I'm number two.
[814] I just try to be a normal dude, man. Listen, you could be 16.
[815] You don't know.
[816] I appreciate making your list.
[817] I don't understand this list because I've counted that you've already done 16, but you said this is number two.
[818] You also said Mina Kimes is second to none, but she would be three.
[819] I don't know.
[820] Listen, we're just fine.
[821] I was just fun and 17 people in media.
[822] He's second to none, no particular order.
[823] Got it.
[824] And nobody that you work with on the show was on the list except for Great Cody.
[825] Yeah.
[826] But he's only there on Tuesdays and he's not on God bless football.
[827] I mean, Billy would be on the list.
[828] Billy, Billy knows I love him.
[829] No, that's okay.
[830] Billy's on the list, okay?
[831] That's fine.
[832] All right.
[833] It's the Billy Gill top 15 sports.
[834] Do you have anyone else on your list?
[835] I have one and I think I think bear has one no no I'm done oh you're done 16 yeah oh wow I I'm not I ain't doing this list without saying Mike Golick Mike Golick is a fundamentally decent human being that me Mikey A and Billy Gill have all fallen in love with that I mean Mike Golick is the nicest guy in sports media and as I say that I realized I left off Greenie oh The year was 2017 and I was a youngish man thinking I was invincible and nothing could stop me. I lost the bed and I said, you know what?
[836] I'm going to bite into this onion because that is the punishment for losing this bet.
[837] And boy did I learn, I was not invincible.
[838] A lot's changed over the years.
[839] One thing that hasn't, the great taste of Miller Light.
[840] Another thing that hasn't changed is that it's less filling.
[841] So what is the best thing about the original light beer?
[842] Miller Light has sparked this debate since 1975.
[843] And we still haven't settled it.
[844] My personal favorite, the great taste.
[845] It goes with almost anything.
[846] And now during the summer for your outside grilling, it's the perfect accompaniment to a nice warm burger hot dog.
[847] You don't have to choose what's best.
[848] Miller Light has great taste and is less filling.
[849] Tastes like Miller Time.
[850] To get Miller Lite delivered right to your door, visit millerlight .com slash GBF.

[855] And we're back.
[856] And we're presented by Smyranoff.
[857] We do game days.
[858] Please drink responsibly, the Smearraf Company, New York, New York.
[859] And we're back.
[860] Yeah, I do.
[861] Well, yes, I love our sponsors, of course.
[862] How you weave in a sponsor to a natural conversation.
[863] I was very impressed with you, Billy.
[864] So natural.
[865] You got, I have a story of the week if you would like one, but we don't have to get to that now because there's lots, lots of things going on here, lots of NFL news.
[866] But again, this was kind of like our college preview slash let's just talk good about people in the media, which is kind of a weird turn.
[867] Right.
[868] Let's talk good.
[869] Well, really what happened was the bear and I exchanged text.
[870] I said you're one of the great guys in sports media.
[871] You're in my top 10.
[872] Yeah, but you know what?
[873] I didn't think I'd come up with 16 or 17 nice people in sports media.
[874] I was surprised and happy that I did.
[875] Save those for July and June next year.
[876] Yeah, for real.
[877] I'm sorry.
[878] I'm sorry.
[879] Lucy tried to warn you don't do this now.
[880] And sure enough, you did it.
[881] I did it anyway.
[882] I know.
[883] Anyway, you were saying, well, so you want to hear my story of the week?
[884] Yeah, I would love it.
[885] Absolutely.
[886] Listen, there's Ayuk stuff to talk about.
[887] There's J .J. McCarthy stuff to talk about, but on God bless football, nothing drops the story of the week.
[888] Nothing.
[889] Well, no, there's lots going on around the Patriots in New England.
[890] I don't know if you saw.
[891] They traded Matthew Judon, who was in the final year of a four -year, $56 million deal to Atlanta.
[892] And in case there was any question, they are very clearly rebuilding in New England.
[893] So things haven't been good there lately, and it doesn't seem like they're going to be getting that much better this season in the near future.
[894] But that takes us to the location of this week's story of the week.
[895] Wow, exciting.
[896] That's right.
[897] So in New England, head coach, Gerard Mayo, speaking to the media, he was not happy with the idea of some fights happening in the preseason.
[898] I don't know if you saw this, too, gots.
[899] No. Okay, so fights happened in the preseason.
[900] Last week, we were talking about five fights happening amongst one team in the preseason.
[901] So Gerard Mayo has come up with a very simple rule that he told his players.
[902] He said, you know what, quote, you don't fight in a real game.
[903] If you're fighting a real game, you get fined, and you get kicked down.
[904] out.
[905] So here is the message that Coach Mayo has given his players.
[906] If you get into a fight out there, if you're a starter, you're going to play the entire preseason game.
[907] If you're not a starter, you won't play it all.
[908] Wow, I love that.
[909] I mean, I can't name any of his players, but I love that.
[910] You can say that when Tom Brady's not on your team.
[911] You can't say that then, but like when Jacoby Brissette is your starter, yeah, sure, Jacoby percent starts a fight.
[912] He'll play the whole game because it doesn't matter.
[913] It's an incredible rule because no one wants to play the entire game of your starter and everyone who's not wants to get in.
[914] Well, that's why he made that the rule.
[915] The perfect punishment.
[916] It is a perfect.
[917] A starters, you're going to play in games that you don't want to play in.
[918] And hey, guys, you aren't on the team yet.
[919] You can't play in the games that are most important to you.
[920] It's great.
[921] Yeah.
[922] Watch out, Don Shula.
[923] You've been looking out for the wrong New England coach to surpass you as the greatest coach ever.
[924] Well, Shul's a cheater.
[925] Yeah.
[926] Yeah.
[927] I mean, guy.
[928] Let it go.
[929] You're 11 years old.
[930] It's going on.
[931] It's insane.
[932] 52 now.
[933] He's still holding onto a bridge from 41 years ago.
[934] I'm holding the mantle for the bear.
[935] I'm with, I'm with, I'm with bear on that as well.
[936] Billy, have we ever seen a hold in like we're seeing right now with Brandon Ayuk?
[937] This is crazy, man. He's holding in.
[938] He's showing up to practice.
[939] He's standing on the sidelines, but he's showing up the practice.
[940] It's crazy.
[941] It's so weird.
[942] I know.
[943] It's such a weird sport.
[944] Well, the salary cap makes it.
[945] Listen, that's why you have parity in the NFL because of the salary cap.
[946] But the Niners had to know there's no way they were going to be able to sign all these guys.
[947] They stopped to sign Brock Purdy next year.
[948] And by the way, the most important player on that team still unsigned.
[949] And he ain't showing up to practice.
[950] He's not standing on the sidelines.
[951] He will stand in his house until someone gives him a deal.
[952] And that's Trent Williams, who might be the best player in the NFL.
[953] I mean, Steve got, I saw.
[954] And we didn't have time for it this weekend.
[955] I didn't want to do it because I didn't want to do a list show even though we just spent like 30 minutes on a list of nice people and it's it's early it was a list of the top 50 free agents in 2025 oh wow can we do like five a week leading oh man can we do that can you figure it out I mean the problem though is like I yuk is on that list and if he gets traded and he signs a new deal he's no longer on the list so you got to get this this list out now you know 100 % yeah we say this I feel terrible for J .J. McCarthy who's going to miss who looked good in his first preseason game.
[956] Two touchdowns.
[957] We almost had it.
[958] We almost had a quarterback controversy of Minnesota.
[959] I know and now he's going to miss the entire season, but I am with with Bear on this and I know Mikey A is thinking it.
[960] Sam Dornold's going to come back to haunt us.
[961] He's going to be the guy that comes back to haunt us.
[962] Yes.
[963] I'm very nervous about this.
[964] Sam Darnold is going to be a starting quarterback for a team next year after he plays well this year.
[965] A starting quarterback on a team that has Justin Jefferson.
[966] Yeah.
[967] Well, not the Vikings because they're going to go to J .J. McCarthy, but Sam Darnold is going to get a starting contract next year.
[968] What he's saying is he's the starter now by default, and he's going to play well enough to get a starting contract next season with another team.
[969] Yeah, because of Justin Jefferson.
[970] Yes.
[971] I think the Jets are going to be looking for a quarterback next year.
[972] Oh, would you take them back?
[973] Little reunited.
[974] Me?
[975] I think Sam Darnold's going to have such a big year that the guy that'll end up trading is J .J. McCarthy.
[976] How about that?
[977] That's insane.
[978] Wow.
[979] That is a crazy statement.
[980] Why?
[981] I don't think you believe that either.
[982] Wait, so if Darnold has the big year, you're going to go to the unproven talent, as opposed to the number 10, the number 10 picks?
[983] Yes, because you have to sign the other guy.
[984] You're going to do.
[985] You have to sign the other guy.
[986] Can you imagine Darnold has a year?
[987] He goes back to the Jets.
[988] You know they just let Kurt Cousins walk, right?
[989] Well, not because he was injured, but they let him go.
[990] Yeah, I know.
[991] Too soon.
[992] Sorry.
[993] Sorry.
[994] Big Kirk Cousins fans out there.
[995] You had him to the Hall Fame last year, Billy.
[996] Yeah, first ballot.
[997] I stepped back on that one.
[998] It's back.
[999] The year was 2017, and I was a youngish man thinking I was invincible, and nothing could stop me. I lost a bed, and I said, you know what?
[1000] I'm going to bite into this onion, because that is the punishment for losing this bet.
[1001] And boy, did I learn, I was not invincible.
