[6] At least 32 Israeli hostages held in Gaza are dead, according to the New York Times today, citing information from the IDF.
[7] That number represents nearly a quarter of the remaining.
[8] 136 hostages still in Hamas control.
[9] The names have not been publicly released, but family members have reportedly been informed.
[10] A three -judge panel in a U .S. Court of Appeal says former President Donald Trump is not immune to the charges he faces in the federal election interference case.
[11] Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more.
[12] The judges wrote that they reject Trump's claims to presidential immunity, both as a categorical defense to federal criminal prosecutions of former presidents and as applied to this case in particular.
[13] The court also said it cannot accept former President Trump's claim that a president has unbounded authority to commit crimes, writing that it would neutralize the most fundamental check on executive power.
[14] The court gave Trump until February 12th to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
[15] This decision comes one week after U .S. District Judge Tanya Chutkin postponed the March 4th start date for Trump's trial while awaiting the immunity decision.
[16] Back in August, Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges, claiming he has absolute immunity for any alleged action he took while serving his president.
[17] The appeals court took up the case after the Supreme Court denied a special counsel Jack Smith's request for a ruling on the former president's immunity claims.
[18] Today is the Nevada GOP primary, and former President Trump is not on the primary ballot, while former U .N. ambassador Nikki Haley is.

[20] While Nevada has historically held a caucus on election night.
[21] A new law passed by Democrats in the state mandates that a traditional primary election be held instead.
[22] In protest of that law, Nevada Republicans have opted to continue hosting a traditional caucus on Thursday, along with today's primary.
[23] That caucus, not the primary, will determine which candidate receives the state's all -important delegates.
[24] Candidates can only appear on the ballot in one of those contests.
[25] Haley has chosen the primary route, while Trump will appear on caucus ballots.
[26] Both candidates are expected to declare victory after each day of voting, but Trump will be the one going home with delegates.
[27] Following a weekend full of U .S. strikes against Iranian proxy groups in various parts of the Middle East, Iran is warning the U .S. not to target one of its ships in the Red Sea.
[28] U .S. officials suspect the ship of providing intel for attacks on other vessels in the area and say it may be serving as a base for Iran's commandos.
[29] In a video published on the Iranian Army's telegram channel on Sunday, an air writer says that anyone who attacks the ship, quote, assumes global responsibility for potential future international risks.
[30] Currently, Iran is not publicly known to be taking part in any recent anti -piracy campaigns in the Gulf of Aden.
[31] The video ends by showing what appears to be ships in an American carrier group being targeted than a man lowering the U .S. flag.
[32] Defense Department Press Secretary Major General Patrick Ryder was asked Monday about the ship.

[35] As you've heard, NavSent talk about before, it's pretty standard for Iran to have a ship in the Red Sea conducting operations, as you've highlighted, so that in and of itself is not unusual.
[36] We're there, again, to support freedom of navigation to work with the international community to ensure that vessels can safely transit this waterway.
[37] We are not there to seek confrontation or war with Iran.
[38] But if our forces are threatened, we will take appropriate action.
[39] The new head of the FAA promised Congress today that the agency will reserve more people for aircraft manufacturing monitoring and to hold Boeing accountable for any safety regulation violations.
[40] FAA administrator Mike Whitaker faced questioning from the House Transportation Committee during today's hearing on FAA oversight.
[41] This comes after a door panel blew off a Boeing 737 Max 9 jetliner mid -flight last month.
[42] Criticism of both the company and the regulator can be traced back to 2000.
[43] 2018 and 2019, when two max eight jets in Indonesia and Ethiopia crashed and killed 346 people.
[44] Over the weekend, Boeing said they discovered improperly drilled holes in the window frames that will delay the delivery of about 50 planes to customers.

[48] A jury has found Jennifer Crumbly, the mother of the Oxford Michigan school shooter, guilty of four counts of manslaughter.
[49] Crumbly is the first case of a parent being prosecuted for the actions of their mass shooter child.
[50] She now faces up to 15 years in prison.
[51] The father of Kansas City Chief's quarterback Patrick Mahomes was arrested for a DWI over the weekend, just one week before his son's fourth Super Bowl appearance.

[53] An open beer can was in the car and he told police he had a few beers at a bar before driving home.
[54] He was released the next day on $10 ,000 bail.
[55] This is Pat Mahomes Sr's third DWI since 2008 and is convicted he faces up to 10 years in prison.
[56] Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl on Sunday.
[57] A couple illegal immigrants suspected of being involved in the beating of New York City police officers were arrested at a Greyhound bus station in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday.
[58] Authorities are working to determine whether the four are the same individuals suspected of boarding a bus out of New York using false names after being freed without bail.
[59] And beloved country music star Toby Keith, who was known for his pro -American anthems and hit song Red Solo Cup, has died.
[60] He was 62.
[61] According to a statement posted on Keith's website, the singer -songwriter who had stomach cancer died peacefully Monday surrounded by family.
[62] He announced his cancer diagnosis in 2022.
