[0] I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Editor -in -Chief John Bickley.

[1] It's Monday, April 24th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

[2] Primetime host Tucker Carlson is out effective immediately at Fox News.

[3] The network announced his departure Monday morning in a press release, stating that his last show was last Friday.

[4] This comes on the heels of the network also parting ways with another popular personality, Dan Bongino.

[5] Carlson was by far the top cable news host, drawing nearly three.

[6] point five million viewers per night.

[7] His exit follows Fox News settling a $787 million lawsuit with Dominion over 2020 election claims.

[8] Fox News host Harris Faulkner made the announcement on air on Monday.

[9] Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have mutually agreed to part ways.

[10] Tucker's last show was this past Friday.

[11] And starting tonight, Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 p .m. Eastern.

[12] It will be an interim show with rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.

[13] In other media news, Don Lemon is also now out at CNN.

[14] In a tweet Monday, the morning show anchor said, quote, after 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.

[15] Lemon went on to say, quote, it is clear that there are some larger issues at play.

[16] Lemon says he was informed of his termination by his agent.

[17] In response, the network released a statement saying that his comments were inaccurate and that Lemon was offered an opportunity to meet with management, but instead released a statement on Twitter.

[18] The United States has begun facilitating the departure of private U .S. citizens in Sudan who want to leave.

[19] According to White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, the U .S. has placed intelligence assets over the land evacuation route to help facilitate safe travel by land from Khartoum to the port of Sudan.

[21] This happens from time to time, and if you look back over the course of months and years, you see military -assisted departures from embassies.

[22] You see, in some cases, non -combatant evacuation operations.

[23] Charges were announced yesterday in the case of two Chicago teens who allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into another car, killing a six -month -old baby.

[24] The alleged car thieves, who were 14 and 17 years old, slammed into the vehicle after blowing through an intersection.

[25] In addition to the death of the child, three passengers, aged 34, 17, and 7 years old, were treated at a nearby hospital.

[26] The teens responsible received only misdemeanor charges.

[27] A relative of the family had this to say about the charges.

[28] There's nothing that's going to bring us peace and joy.

[29] We can have all these people arrested.

[30] We can try, and it helps a little bit, but nothing to us will bring us justice, because at the end of the day, they stole a car and they stole our entire lives.

[31] in that one instance.

[32] President Biden, welcome to the White House today, the three Tennessee lawmakers who faced expulsion for their role in gun control protest on the State House floor.

[33] The State House protest took place days after the shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville where three children and three adults were killed.

[34] The three lawmakers, representatives Justin Pearson, Justin Jones, and Gloria Johnson, approached the front of the House chamber with a bullhorn as protesters filled the galleries.

[35] And Anheiser -Busch has placed another top marketing executive on leave after Bud Light ignited controversy over its decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for a paid marketing engagement.

[37] Daniel Blake, who is in charge of marketing for the company's mainstream brands, has been placed on leave following the Mulvaney incident.

[38] Blake is the boss of Bud Light Vice President of Marketing Alyssa Heinershide, who was also placed on leave last week.

[39] After the controversy erupted with Mulvaney, video surfaced of remarks that Heinershide made during a recent podcast in which she said she had a mandate to move the brand toward more inclusivity.
