[6] The judge in Trump's hush money trial says that jail time is on the 10th.
[7] table should the former president continue to violate his gag order?
[8] Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the latest.
[9] Judge Juan Mershan also fined Trump another $1 ,000, but conceded that it's, quote, clear the relatively small fines are not effective, and the going forward the court will consider a, quote, jail sentence.
[10] Judge Mershon imposed the gag order on Trump before the trial started, saying he could not make any public statements about witnesses, counsel, court staff, or family members of those involved in the case.
[11] Manhattan District Attorney Albin Bragg, with prosecutors have alleged over a dozen gag order violations, which to this point have resulted in $9 ,000 in fines.
[12] For their part, Trump and his attorneys have argued that the gag order violates his First Amendment rights, as well as the First Amendment rights of his supporters.
[13] They say it's unfair to limit a former president and presidential nominee in this way.
[14] Columbia University's canceling plans to hold its main graduation ceremony later this month.
[15] This comes after nearly a month of anti -Israel protests disrupting life on the New York campus and other schools across the country.
[16] Daily Wire Culture Reporter, Megan Basham, has more.
[17] Instead of the May 15th event, the university will hold what it calls smaller -scale school -based celebrations.
[18] Columbia's administration says the idea came out of feedback from school staffers and student leaders.
[19] The announcement comes weeks after the NYPD sent officers to clear an academic building on the university's campus that had been seized by protesters.
[20] Following that incident, Columbia's president, the new Shafik asked police to remain present until at least May 17th to help, quote, maintain order and ensure encampments are not reestablished.
[21] New York City Mayor Eric Adams told ABC yesterday he hoped the city's universities would allow their graduation ceremonies to take place.
[22] I don't think we should allow anything to get in our normal way of life.
[23] We would do our job.
[24] And if the institutions decide to graduate their students and celebrate a beautiful experience with their families, we'll make sure it's done in a peaceful manner.
[25] The University of Southern California also opted to Nix its main commencement ceremony.
[26] Meanwhile, House GOP conference chairwoman Elise Stefanik called Columbia's decision an unbelievable failure of leadership after they weekly negotiated with the pro -Hamas terrorist encampment.
[27] She says Colombia's leadership has lost control of its school.
[28] Hamas says they have accepted an Egyptian -Katari ceasefire proposal.
[29] that would stop the war with Israel.
[30] The terrorist group issued a statement Tuesday that its leadership announced the news on a phone call with Egyptian and Qatari officials.
[31] But Israel says the agreement is not one that they have agreed to and is, quote, far from meeting Israel's requirements.
[32] Israel did say, however, that it will send a delegation to discuss the treaty.
[33] This comes as the Jewish nation has ordered officials in Gaza to begin evacuating civilians from the southern town of Rafa.
[34] The town is believed to be Hamas' last stronghold.
[35] Details of the deal were not immediately released.
[36] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the following at the Holocaust Remembrance Day opening ceremony yesterday.

[41] Officials in Russia have threatened to strike British military facilities and said they plan to hold drills that simulate nuclear weapon use.
[42] This all comes amid rising tension between Moscow and Western nations over their potential to get more involved in Ukraine.
[43] Russia warned Britain's ambassador to the foreign ministry that if UK -supplied weapons are used in Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory, that could mean consequences for a British military.

[45] A church pastor in Pennsylvania says it's a miracle he's alive after a man tried to shoot him in the middle of his sermon.
[46] The incident was caught on camera in a live stream video and showed a church deacon, Clarence McAllister, tackling the assailant after the would -be shooter's handgun jammed.

[48] The pastor, Glenn Germany, says that he had never seen the suspect before.
[49] Police say the assailant, a 26 -year -old man who was arrested at the church, lived in a home nearby where officers found a man dead from a gunshot wound.
[50] The suspect did confess to the crimes telling a state trooper at the jail that, quote, God told him to do it.
[51] Meanwhile, Pastor Glenn says the suspect smiled at him before approaching with a gun.
[52] He pulled the trigger and a miracle of God happened that the gun got jammed.
[53] That bull that had a name on it.
[54] And ABC President Kim Godwin has announced she's stepping down from her post.
[55] In 2021, Godwin became the first black person to run a broadcast television news division.
[56] She resigned soon after corporate restructuring took away much of her management autonomy.
[57] Godwin reportedly struggled to navigate the culture at the ABC News Division, which the Wall Street Journal described as cutthroat and toxic.
