[2] A Florida jury has rejected the death penalty for the Parkland shooter.
[3] The jury instead opted for life in prison during the sentencing trial on Thursday.
[4] The Parkland shooter is convicted of killing 17 people at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine's Day, 2018.
[5] Following the resignation of the L .A. City Council President, the White House says President Biden thinks the remaining council members heard on a racially charged recording should step down.
[6] The council members were part of a recorded discussion in which racist and degrading comments were made.
[7] The Consumer Price Index rose 8 .2 % between September 2021 and September of 2022, according to a Thursday report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, surpassing expectations.
[8] Economist Rick Santelli predicts that customers won't see relief for two years.

[20] We don't have bilingual teachers.
[21] Children are being asked to translate for our children.
[22] Our schools were not prepared to receive this influx of students, and we want to make sure that everybody's being served well.
[23] In global news, Russia warned Thursday morning that if NATO becomes directly involved in the war against Ukraine, it would result in nuclear World War III that will be, quote, catastrophic for all mankind.
[24] President Biden spent time in Los Angeles on Thursday as part of a fundraising push before the November midterms.
[25] The January 6th committee plans to vote to subpoena former President Trump.
