[2] Chicago PD arrested over 40 young people on Sunday in the Loop area after hundreds of teens swarmed the area and began harassing citizens and destroying property.
[3] New mayor, Brandon Johnson, addressed the continuing problem of teen takeovers on Wednesday, emphasizing the role of law enforcement in maintaining law and order in the streets.
[4] That's a departure from the strategy employed by former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
[5] Johnson ran on a progressive platform and had previously downplayed the role of law enforcement in community safety.

[7] The preventative dynamic is, of course, being far more strategic about finding out when these dynamics are taking place and then showing up not just with law enforcement, but with the full force of government, other agencies, as well as our community partners to help deter and and redirects young people, that that's going to be a constant effort.
[8] According to a lawsuit filed this week, the drug makers behind the drugs, Ozempic and Mungaro, failed to adequately warn patients about the possible risk of severe stomach problems as a side effect.
[9] The Louisiana woman who filed the suit alleges that she was severely injured after taking two diabetes drugs and is the first person to claim that the drugs can cause gastrointestinal injuries.
[10] Ozempic and Mungaro, which are both part of a new class of medicine, known as GLP -1 agonists help people with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels, but they're also prescribed off -label for weight loss.
[11] Here's what the woman's attorney told Good Morning America.
[12] Her problems have been so severe that she's been to the emergency room multiple times, including last weekend.
[13] Two Navy sailors were arrested on accusations of providing military information to China, such as details regarding wartime exercises along with other critical technical information.
[14] According to federal officials, both sailors who are based in California were charged for providing sensitive intelligence to the Chinese.
[15] In a press conference Thursday, federal officials would not say whether the sailors were aware of each other's actions.
[16] The charges demonstrate the PRC's determination to obtain information that is critical to our national defense by any means.
[17] So it could be used to their advantage.
[18] The alleged conduct also represents a violation of the solemn obligation of members of our military to defend our country, to safeguard our secrets, and to protect their fellow service members.

[20] The Korean automakers are recalling 91 ,000 vehicles due to fire risk.
[21] They're asking owners to park the vehicles outside and away from structures that could burn.
[22] The cause seems to be faulty electronics.

[24] Despite the recall, there have been no accidents or injuries as of yet.
[25] Florida's Walt Disney Governing District, which recently was put under the control of a governor -appointed board, has abolished all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
[26] In a statement, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District said its diversity, equity, and inclusion committee would be eliminated, as would any job duties connected to it.
[27] Another initiative that was removed was one that awarded contracts based on goals of racial or gender equity.
[28] The ACLU of Texas is representing LGBTQ groups and a drag performer in a suit against the state for Senate Bill 12, which restricts sexually oriented performances, claiming that the law violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments.
[29] These performances would be restricted from public properties or in the presence of someone under the age of 18.
[30] Lieutenant Governor Dan And Patrick said in a statement that the bill would prohibit, quote, sexualized performances and drag shows in the presence of a minor.
[31] The law is set to go into effect on September 1st.
[32] A transgender identifying former student sued a Missouri school district on Monday after the former student claims to have been forced to use the boys' bathrooms or the school's only single -stall bathroom, despite identifying as a girl.
[33] The lawsuit, which is being headed up by the ACLU of Missouri, argues that the school violated the rights of the biocals.
[34] biologically male student by making the requirement.
[35] And Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced this week that he and his wife, Sophie, are separating.
[36] The couple broke the news in a joint statement posted to their official Instagram accounts, saying the decision came after, quote, many meaningful and difficult conversations.
