[1] It's Tuesday, March 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
[2] The governor of Tamalipas in Matamoros, Mexico announced this morning that two of the four Americans kidnapped by gunmen last week were found dead.
[3] Two others from that group were found alive, though one was wounded.
[4] One of the victims reportedly had traveled into the country for a cosmetic medical procedure.

[6] The area in which the victims were abducted is essentially controlled by the Gulf cartel, and now lawmakers are calling the Biden administration to hold those responsible accountable.
[7] Republican Congresswoman Monica Dela Cruz of Texas condemned the, quote, horrifying crime and declared, justice must be swift and overwhelming.
[8] Enough is enough.
[9] Fox News host Tucker Carlson sparked a firestorm online and outrage from legacy media outlets after airing never -before -seen footage from the January 6th Capitol riot.
[10] The footage aired by Carlson is some of more than 40 ,000 hours of surveillance video given exclusively to him by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

[12] Video showed some of the protesters calmly walking throughout the building with Capitol Police likewise calmly standing by and at times even appearing to accompany the protesters throughout the halls.
[13] One of those protesters featured in the footage was a so -called QAnon shaman Jacob Chansley who was seen in his famous horn hat walking throughout the building accompanied by police who take no steps to arrest him.
[14] If he was, in fact, committing such a grave crime, why didn't the officers who were standing right next to him place him under arrest?
[15] Chansley has since been sentenced to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of obstruction of an official proceeding.

[17] In response to Carlson's expose, Democratic Majority Senator Chuck Schumer is calling for Fox News to silence Carlson, claiming that he is endangering American safety and those hurt on January 6th.
[18] Here's Schumer today from the Senate floor.
[19] He's going to come back tonight with another segment.
[20] Fox News should tell him not to.
[21] Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, tell Carlson not to run a second segment of lies.
[22] You know it's a lie.
[23] The chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, announced Tuesday that the Fed would continue to raise rates as new data showed inflation is still too high.
[24] He also urged Congress to raise the debt ceiling, but he did get some pushback from Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren.
[25] We are taking the only measures we have to bring inflation down.
[26] And putting two million people out of work, just part of the cost, and they just have to bear it.
[27] Will working people be better off if we just walk away from our jobs and inflation remains 5, 6 percent?
[28] And the New York Times reports that U .S. officials believe that a pro -Ukrainian group blew up the Nord Stream pipelines last year.
[29] Those sources told the paper that they had no evidence linking President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine or the Ukrainian government to the attack.
[30] The information comes as other media outlets have reported that the U .S. was responsible for blowing up the pipelines to weaken Russia, and accusation U .S. officials have repeatedly denied.
