[2] The Epstein documents released Thursday include a 2016 deposition from Joseph Rick Herry, a former detective with the Palm Beach Police Department.
[3] In his testimony, he says he interviewed about 30 women, most under the age of 18, who went to Jeffrey Epstein's home to give him a massage.
[4] Many were lured there by the promise of becoming a Victoria Seas.
[5] secret model.
[6] Rick Carey stated, quote, when they went to perform a massage, it was for sexual gratification.
[7] In 2008, Epstein did enter a plea deal, which forced him to register as a sex offender and serve a 13 -month sentence, most of which he spent at his home on work release.
[8] Eric Adams is escalating his war on Texas.
[9] The New York City mayor has sued the 17 charter bus companies used by Governor Greg Abbott to transport thousands of illegal migrants to the Big Apple.
[10] The mayor says New York wants to be reimbursed for the millions of dollars it spends to house, feed, and deal with the migrants.
[11] The lawsuit is asking for $708 million in damages.
[12] ousted Harvard president, Claudine Gay, pinned an op -ed in the New York Times, defending herself from recent accusations of plagiarism and accusing her detractors of being motivated by racism.
[13] In the letter, she claimed she was subject to death threats and has been, quote, called the N -word more times than a care to count.
[14] She also issued a warning saying her resignation is much bigger than one person at one school.
[15] She said, quote, trusted institutions of all types from public health agencies to news organizations will continue to fall victim to coordinated attempts to undermine their legitimacy and ruin their leader's credibility.
[16] Gay resigned amid allegations of widespread plagiarism in her papers and after a much -criticized congressional testimony on anti -Semitism on Harvard's campus.
[17] The U .S. economy added 216 ,000 jobs in December, significantly more than the predicted 170 ,000.
[18] Meanwhile, unemployment held steady at 3 .7%.
[19] Various government buildings in multiple states faced bomb threats on Thursday, some for the second day in a row.
[20] According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, there were threats at several locations across the state, leading to precautionary measures.
[21] The locations included several courthouses and the state capital.
[22] The Mississippi agency says bomb squads were deployed.
[23] According to local media reports, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, and Maine had threats of a similar nature.
[24] U .S. intelligence officials have discovered that while Russia is struggling to replenish supplies for its war, the Kremlin has acquired ballistic missiles from North Korea and is in talks with Iran about getting even more.

[26] According to National Security spokesman John Kirby, Russia was given both missile launchers and several missiles, some of which were used in Ukraine -Zaparisia region.
[27] Earlier this week, Russia launched more of the North Korean ballistic missiles as part of an overnight attack on Ukraine.
[28] During the U .S. assessment, it was discovered these missiles have a range of about 550 miles.
[29] Intelligence officials believe that North Korea isn't just feeling generous, but wants Russia to provide them with various advanced technologies in return, such as aircraft, surface -to -air missiles, and armored vehicles.
[30] According to John Kirby, the U .S. is concerned about Russia's negotiations with Iran.
[31] In September of 2023, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, hosted Russian defense minister Shogu in Iran and showcased its Ababil, close -range ballistic missile and other missile systems.
[32] This event marked the first public display of ballistic missiles to a senior Russian official visiting Iran since February 22.
[33] More recently, in mid -December, the IRC Aerospace Force deployed multiple ballistic missile and missile support systems to a training area inside Iran for display to a visiting Russian delegation.
[34] We assess that Russia intends to purchase missile systems from Iran.
[35] Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius will go free today after serving nine years in prison for killing his girlfriend, Riva Steen Camp.
[36] 37 -year -old Pistorius will be out on parole but will live in his wealthy uncle's home under strict supervision until December of 2029.
[37] Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend of three months with a 9 -millimeter pistol less than a year after competing in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
[38] Pistorius was convicted by a jury but claims he shot at his girlfriend because he believed she was an intruder.
[39] The largest male specimen of the world's most venomous spider was found in Australia this week.
[40] The deadly Sydney Funnel Webb spider, which has been given the name Hercules, was found by a member of the public and has now been moved to the Australian Reptile Park.
[41] The spider measures 3 .1 inches from foot to foot that surpasses the previous funnel web record holder named Colossus.
[42] The fangs of the spider are strong enough to pierce a human fingernail.
[43] A customer claiming to be injured by an exploding toilet has filed a negligence lawsuit against Dunkin' Donuts.
[44] A Florida man is seeking more than $100 ,000 in a lawsuit filed earlier this week.
[45] The suit says the man has suffered severe and long -term injuries following the men's room incident, which happened over a year ago at the Winter Park, Florida Duncan.
[46] The suit says the man walked out of the restroom to seek help from the workers, at which time he was told they were aware of the problem with the toilet and that there had been previous incidents.
[47] And a 13 -year -old boy is the first and only person to beat the game, Tetris.
[48] The Oklahoma teenager had reached level 157 of the game, when it froze on the score of 99 ,99999.
[49] He's the only one who's been able to reach that level in the Nintendo game.
