Full Transcription:

[0] Everyone get real comp.

[1] Okay.

[2] Okay, Liz.

[3] Monica.

[4] Wait, a shade to you, I'm in design.

[5] Will you hear it?

[6] Here we go.

[7] It's day one.

[8] I know you're freaking out.

[9] And so am I. I'm not well.

[10] Yeah.

[11] I have felt really crazy all day.

[12] Me too.

[13] And then I felt crazy about the fact that I was crazy.

[14] How are we going to do a whole podcast?

[15] Our brain is not.

[16] My brain already doesn't work when we haven't done any of the shots yet.

[17] So we are in trouble.

[18] But welcome listeners to our new podcast, Race to 35.

[19] It's in our Race to 270 family.

[20] But this is a much different kind of race.

[21] And I do want to be very, very clear about that.

[22] This is not a competition.

[23] Race to 270 was a competition show.

[24] And this is not.

[25] This is race against the clock.

[26] And we figured we would do it together.

[27] that we wouldn't be so alone.

[28] And I think it was a really smart decision, although we might be working each other up a little bit.

[29] No, you calm me down.

[30] I feel like I'm the bad one.

[31] It might change, though.

[32] As Sarah Perel says that there's never like one role, like you kind of change depending on the situation.

[33] Yeah.

[34] So on some days, I might be the calm one.

[35] Who knows?

[36] Well, that's what we're going to find out.

[37] So this is a 10 episode podcast.

[38] And at the top of each episode, we will talk about how we're feeling, our new thoughts, our new fears.

[39] Our new personality.

[40] Exactly.

[41] Exactly.

[42] And then the rest of the episode will be us chatting with someone an expert in this field or someone just with an interesting fertility story.

[43] Maybe some people you know, maybe some people you don't know.

[44] And it's going to be a really exciting adventure.

[45] I'm so, so jazzed.

[46] And here we are.

[47] And I thought for our first episode, because Race to 270 had best friend Aaron Weekly on it.

[48] And so this felt really apropos to pass the baton to my best friend, Callie.

[49] Hi.

[50] Callie Watt Shapiro.

[51] Not officially, but yes, yes.

[52] Well, you're officially married, but he's just not.

[53] Yes, I am officially married.

[54] You have not taken on his last name.

[55] That's right.

[56] Are you gonna?

[57] No. You're not.

[58] Watch is a really weird last name.

[59] It is.

[60] It's really specific.

[61] I'm stuck with it.

[62] You have a tattooed.

[63] I really stuck with it.

[64] Yeah, you're really stuck.

[65] Okay, I didn't know that.

[66] And so I've been writing your whole name out.

[67] Callie Watch Shapiro.

[68] Wow.

[69] When?

[70] When are you writing the whole name?

[71] Sometimes I make lists.

[72] List of people in my life.

[73] life.

[74] I rank them.

[75] And I've been ranking you as Callie Watt, Shapiro.

[76] Wow.

[77] Well, maybe we should revisit.

[78] It's a lot of paperwork, but I'll do it if it makes you in your life.

[79] Thank you.

[80] You do make my life easier.

[81] Hence why you're here today.

[82] You have done this twice.

[83] Yes, I have.

[84] And I gave you a shot once.

[85] Yes.

[86] I guess Easter egg.

[87] At the end of this episode, Liz and I will be administering our first shot on this.

[88] very podcast.

[89] Oh, my God.

[90] And one of us survives.

[91] Okay, Liz, on a scale of one to 10, you're going to rank a few things, okay?

[92] Okay.

[93] I love this.

[94] How anxious are you?

[95] How empowered do you feel?

[96] And how sad do you feel?

[97] Oh, wow.

[98] I, on anxious was the first one, I feel like a 14 right now.

[99] Wow.

[100] But I'm my base.

[101] line isn't 11.

[102] Right.

[103] But the fact that we're doing this not only together, but also that it's a work project, makes me more committed.

[104] And I think I would have ghosted.

[105] Like, I think I would have failed.

[106] I feel like once they showed you the, you know, the needles, I would have just passed out and just moved on.

[107] And like, this isn't for me. So I feel very anxious.

[108] I do feel empowered.

[109] Because in the lead up in the last few weeks, I decided to do this very recently.

[110] And then you text me like two days later.

[111] Can we talk about the fact that that was just so strange?

[112] Yeah, give some backstory.

[113] So I was just like a little bananas in my dating life because I was just really at the point where I was like, oh, I'm 35.

[114] I got to find the person.

[115] And so that's the worst energy to bring on any first date is like, are you my husband?

[116] And then I was talking my friend Chelsea.

[117] And she was like, Liz, you're trying to control the one thing that you can control, which is when you're going to the right person.

[118] And then you're not controlling the one thing that you can control, which is like, you could just freeze your eggs.

[119] And it was this light bulb moment.

[120] Because in my mind, this is so sad.

[121] It means you failed.

[122] It means you're not likable.

[123] And then all of a sudden it clicked.

[124] The minute I decided I was doing it, then also zero to 100, I was like, and I'm going to talk about it to everybody.

[125] Like, I'm going to like do it publicly.

[126] I started talking to different places.

[127] And then we were texting like randomly.

[128] About like a dinner.

[129] Oh yeah, like a raindoe thing.

[130] And then you were like, are you freezing your eggs?

[131] Even that question, I was like, this is so weird that she's asking that because it's only been a few days.

[132] And then Monica says, because I'm looking to do it with someone and make a podcast about it.

[133] And then we were like, but then like, look, we'd have to be synced.

[134] Our peers had to be at the same time.

[135] And I'm like, I'm on my period right now.

[136] Are you?

[137] And she's like, yes.

[138] That's when I knew.

[139] I was like, this is how it's supposed to happen.

[140] So I feel really empowered.

[141] I feel really excited.

[142] It's made me feel differently about my life, even in the last few weeks since I decided.

[143] I have to do it.

[144] So once I'm not so much of a scary cat with the shot, maybe I will then reconnect with my, with my feminist empowered, like hiding in there.

[145] No, but you are such a feminist.

[146] You really are a voice of feminism.

[147] So I actually really appreciate you not feeling just like, yes, absolutely, I feel so good, like, because these are really real emotions that you have to ride all of.

[148] And I think to put out there, Like, it's just empowering.

[149] And look, if you feel that way, sure.

[150] Amazing.

[151] But if you don't, it's also okay.

[152] Even when I went in for my first ultrasound, I didn't know my fertility level or whatever.

[153] Like, I'd have no idea.

[154] And I never had a transnational ultrasound.

[155] I've heard a lot about it.

[156] I heard great things.

[157] Good reputation.

[158] It looks like a giant dildo.

[159] Yeah, I know.

[160] That's like a big cord.

[161] But so, and then she's talking to me, and I am blacked out.

[162] Like, I'm there, but I'm glass eye.

[163] Like, I just.

[164] I didn't, you disassociate.

[165] And I didn't expect that to happen.

[166] And I had my mask on and I was like, maybe it's my, like, and I felt I was going to like pass out.

[167] I didn't pass out.

[168] I was fine.

[169] But I don't remember anything that she said.

[170] And then when she had the wand in me, I was like, please don't tell me my fertility future while you have a transnational ultrasound inside of me. It's a vulnerable position.

[171] Right.

[172] Just wait until it's not a dild.

[173] You can call it a dildo.

[174] A giant dildo of my puss.

[175] And so that's why I'm so.

[176] And so that's why I'm so.

[177] happy to do this with you because it I can't like I'm going to get emotional and like it we haven't even started the hormones but it really means a lot to me that we get to do this and that we get to do this with all of you listening and that this can be like a fun thing we all do together I hope it helps people because even I mean through this process I was introduced to it by Callie because sometimes when I'm telling people like I'm going to freeze my eggs they don't really understand anything people don't even know that there are shots every day people don't know Anything.

[178] And I'll be like, what, what?

[179] Like, what's not to get?

[180] You know?

[181] And then I remember that when you told me you were doing it, I had no idea.

[182] I had no idea.

[183] Maybe Callie, you can do this.

[184] Give a baseline.

[185] What happens?

[186] Well, it's been a minute.

[187] I'll try and remember everything.

[188] But it's very similar to the first stage of IVF.

[189] So if you're familiar with that, it's the same thing of, you know, egg retrieval.

[190] This is already new information.

[191] I don't know that.

[192] I didn't know that.

[193] Oh, wow.

[194] It's also so funny hearing you guys talk about it and it being like such a blackout experience because I think I was like the most laser focused I've ever been.

[195] I was like, I want to know what that looks like, what that count is, what this is, what that.

[196] I became super into it, like very honed in, which was I'm maybe not off brand.

[197] No, but you said it once that it was a way to have control over anything.

[198] I found it like a thing I could hold on to for like 10 days.

[199] But yeah, it's 10 days of shots.

[200] That you administer yourself.

[201] That you administer yourself or if you are doing it with someone else, you can have someone administer them for you.

[202] The first time I did it, I did it myself, except for the one shot that Monica did for me. That was the only one?

[203] Otherwise, I was like, this is my job.

[204] Well, it's funny, though, because now that I'm in this seat, I feel like I did not take that seriously enough.

[205] No, no, you were giggling a lot.

[206] I remember.

[207] That's so bad.

[208] Like, why'd you let me do that?

[209] But I also, I also feel like a scientist at heart.

[210] No, it felt, I loved getting all the medicine.

[211] And I made, like, a sterile zone in my apartment and, like, a tray where I could, like, carry my tray around.

[212] Oh, I like that.

[213] You're kind of making, like, a bit out of it.

[214] You're playing a character.

[215] It was, like, I'm a home doctor for these next 10 days.

[216] Yeah, you really eventized it.

[217] I did, yeah, for myself.

[218] But, yeah, I had, like, I picked out the spot.

[219] I, like, reorganize my fridge so I could feature it in the fridge.

[220] I didn't want it, like, near, like, a bowl of pasta that freaked me out.

[221] Sure.

[222] Yeah.

[223] So there's, at the beginning, you go in for a consultation, and they throw so much at you.

[224] And I definitely have that exact same experience.

[225] I, like, left and I was like, I haven't retained one piece of information that she said.

[226] And it was all bad news.

[227] Everything she said was something bad.

[228] And I was like, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God.

[229] And I have talked about this on armchair a lot, and it will come up definitely throughout this process.

[230] But the first thing I asked was, what about birth control?

[231] I'm on it.

[232] I've been on it for a really long time.

[233] I really don't want to get off of it because I have very volatile skin and that's vain, but matters to me. But it's my history and it has an impact on my mental health.

[234] And so people can and will make some decisions about me based on that.

[235] you know what?

[236] It was my choice.

[237] And she basically said, yes, you can stay on it, but I would recommend you not.

[238] I would recommend you get off of it for some period of time because your count might be affected by it.

[239] And I thought about it a lot.

[240] And then I was like, I'm going to stay.

[241] I'm going to stay on it.

[242] And I felt weirdly defiant in that moment.

[243] No, I can still choose my day -to -day life over this thing females are supposed to do, motherhood.

[244] It just got like really entangled with my feelings of feeling out of control, I think.

[245] So.

[246] And how old were you?

[247] When she said that.

[248] Oh, this happened like one.

[249] Oh, like a couple months ago.

[250] Oh, okay.

[251] 34 and a half.

[252] And then that was the whole thing.

[253] She was like 35, 35, 35.

[254] That's the number.

[255] You're basically, she said something like you'll never get pregnant again ever for the rest of your life.

[256] If it's a day, if it's one second after your birthday, she did not say that.

[257] That's what I heard.

[258] There's this die off and blah, blah, blah.

[259] And then they, also the eggs die in the freezer.

[260] And then they die.

[261] Like, I just die.

[262] So much of that word was said.

[263] And I think that's also why I picked staying on the birth control because I was like, this is a dead ed anyway.

[264] And so I can't sacrifice this other piece of my life.

[265] But I regret it.

[266] I already regret it.

[267] We haven't even started.

[268] And I'm like, I should have done it.

[269] I should have got off the birth control.

[270] I should have set myself up for success in a way that I did not.

[271] It's hard because you can do everything right.

[272] Like, I was trying to do everything right the first time.

[273] And my first retrieval was not very successful.

[274] Yeah, do you mind telling people about that?

[275] Sure.

[276] What is not successful me and what happened?

[277] Well, I did it when I was 32 on my own.

[278] And so in my mind, it was extra credit.

[279] It wasn't a race against the clock.

[280] It was like, I'm getting ahead of things.

[281] And you work at a company.

[282] And I work at a company.

[283] And I was going to mention this also as the first part of consultation was all very scary, medical stuff.

[284] And then the second part is a very scary financial conversation.

[285] Yes.

[286] And I am very lucky to work at a place currently that takes care of that second part, which is like such a understatement of how challenging the entry point is for this whole experience of like being able to do this.

[287] So at 32, I decided to do it, get ahead of it, just like nip it in the bud, freeze a couple eggs.

[288] She's an overachiever.

[289] I love this.

[290] Some eggs on ice.

[291] We visit them in a little bit and just have that insurance part.

[292] policy.

[293] And long story short, even though all my numbers were good, everything was good along the way.

[294] Also, this is the only thing where your egg count matters.

[295] This is the only time where your egg count.

[296] Like you don't need to have 36 eggs.

[297] To get pregnant.

[298] To get pregnant.

[299] That's insane.

[300] So there's this number that you're chasing after and there's these like percentages that you're focused on that are so manufactured for this process and very unnatural.

[301] But as like, Benchmarks, I wanted to, okay, I'm 32.

[302] I want at least 30 eggs so that I have this percentage.

[303] 30?

[304] Yeah, I wanted a high number.

[305] Oh, my God.

[306] But the moral of the story is, at 32, I got four.

[307] Yeah.

[308] I got four eggs.

[309] I picked you up from that.

[310] Monica was my ride home, my emergency contact, all the good stuff.

[311] Couldn't leave anesthesia mess.

[312] And they rolled me out in the wheelchair, and I just started sobbing.

[313] Yeah, it was so.

[314] And it was the first time I cried in the whole process because I was so disappointed in that number.

[315] I feel like you really took it on as a failure.

[316] Yeah.

[317] Because I was like, I should be getting higher because I'm young.

[318] There's like a lot of those should statements.

[319] Maybe I should have exercised less or eaten this.

[320] But anyway, the point is I wasn't on birth control.

[321] Yeah.

[322] I didn't have a hormonal disruptor like the birth control is.

[323] And it still was a disappointing.

[324] experience.

[325] So it can be disappointing no matter why.

[326] I know.

[327] Again, that was part of it.

[328] It's like, this is going to be bad.

[329] I feel so pessimistic for some reason.

[330] And also, I mean, I think a little bit because I put all this stuff so outside my brain always.

[331] Kids, definitely fertility, a partner, like all of that I compartmentalized so much.

[332] I put that over there and over there and over there.

[333] So when I went in, I was like, I'm here.

[334] I guess it's time.

[335] Then it was like, oh, and it's going badly.

[336] Like, of course it's going badly.

[337] Everything related to this doesn't work out for me. So this isn't going to work out either.

[338] It's just like bad.

[339] And the reality is your body's just going to do what it's going to do.

[340] And it's maybe going to prove you wrong.

[341] It might prove you.

[342] Proven quotes because it's not doing that either.

[343] You don't know what's going to happen.

[344] I wasn't on birth control, which was a dumb decision.

[345] Like it was kind of like could have led to.

[346] to a lot of bad things.

[347] And in a way, like, the fact that you made that choice for you and your life is positive in all kinds of different ways.

[348] And again, like, I might do too much downward dog and then, like, end up with, you know what I mean?

[349] Like even, you're not supposed to.

[350] I know I'm not supposed to downward dog.

[351] The no exercise thing is going to be a lot.

[352] That's how I let go of my anxiety.

[353] Someone has to figure out a new way to do it.

[354] There's probably also all these other positive things she said.

[355] And you just probably weren't able to receive them because they were like, you know, it was like, I'm bad.

[356] Or I did.

[357] And again, like, it's my fault.

[358] We'll see.

[359] But You have a high account?

[360] I don't know.

[361] I think I have average.

[362] It's a high.

[363] It's okay.

[364] High 20s.

[365] I blocked out the number.

[366] No, see, I don't even made that up.

[367] I don't think I remember.

[368] At this point, do you have it?

[369] Yeah, I have 10.

[370] Of the follicles.

[371] Of the follicles.

[372] So like, that's like max.

[373] Yeah.

[374] Yeah, that is.

[375] So that's why.

[376] So your max is like good and normal.

[377] Okay.

[378] I still don't think I remember.

[379] I know she was like, this is good.

[380] She wasn't like, wow, I'm I saying fertile, you know, whatever.

[381] But it seemed good.

[382] Yeah.

[383] So, okay, so then.

[384] I did it a second time.

[385] And I did it with a partner.

[386] And we froze embryos, which is a whole other stage to this process.

[387] And the embryos have a better chance of making it, right?

[388] Like what I heard is even when you raise your eggs, it's like 60 % that's going to take.

[389] But embryos is like 90 that it's going to like work out.

[390] I think it's a more stable.

[391] Like cell form, like, I don't know.

[392] I really have a doctor to figure this out.

[393] No, that's right.

[394] We're going to have a lot of experts on.

[395] Okay.

[396] So it'll be fine.

[397] This is just your anecdotal experience.

[398] Yes.

[399] My anecdotal experience is that you need to freeze more eggs because the thawing process has a diet, a strong attrition.

[400] I think there is another way to say this, guys.

[401] Death.

[402] But then embryos are a sturdier.

[403] A sturdier.

[404] A stature.

[405] sturdier thing to thaw.

[406] So I'm forgetting the number, but our final number was six whole embryos, which we got to, I think after, I think I started with like 32 follicles or something like that.

[407] Wow.

[408] Wow.

[409] Yeah.

[410] Yeah.

[411] Yeah.

[412] But it goes, obviously, it really whittles down, whittles down, whittles down, little's down.

[413] So then it's the, you start with so many follicles and And then you see how many become good egg candidates.

[414] Yeah.

[415] And then those also, you only retrieve so many.

[416] You don't actually know your final count until you go through the retrieval process.

[417] Stay tuned for more if you dare.

[418] Now a word from our sponsor, BetterHelp.

[419] Look, me and you are all about the therapy.

[420] It's like all we talk about.

[421] We need it.

[422] People need it.

[423] Yes.

[424] As they say, people go to therapy to deal with people who don't go to therapy.

[425] A therapist can help you become a better problem solver.

[426] It can make it easier for you to accomplish your goals, no matter how big or small.

[427] And I think a lot of people get stuck in the fact that they're like, I'm going to therapy and I don't want to go because I just talk about my problems.

[428] That's not right.

[429] You're talking about solutions for your problems.

[430] It's like a tune -up and you can talk about what's going well in your life.

[431] So if you're thinking of giving therapy a try, better help is a great option.

[432] It's convenient, it's accessible, affordable, and entirely online, my favorite place.

[433] You can get matched with a therapist after filling out a brief survey and switch therapists at any time if you are not happy.

[460] What is the difference with a follicle and an egg?

[461] The follicles become eggs.

[462] Also, it's wild how much I didn't know how a female body works.

[463] And it's really startling.

[464] I have no idea.

[465] There's a lot of stuff I don't know.

[466] But you should do your anxious, empowered and...

[467] Oh, okay.

[468] Okay.

[469] Anxious, I feel...

[470] I feel 10.

[471] Yeah.

[472] I feel so anxious today.

[473] Today, though.

[474] Like, I think we should check in on these numbers throughout the process.

[475] I have hope that the anxiety will go down, but then it will skyrocket before the retrieval.

[476] sign this I know.

[477] I mean, you know what?

[478] It's reminding me. It's like actually giving me memories of like the SATs.

[479] Wow.

[480] That's fascinating.

[481] Where I have these expectations.

[482] There's a perfect score.

[483] And like I'm I'm not going to get that.

[484] The score is going to come back and it's going to be so bad.

[485] I took the SATs three times and it was embarrassing because I was like, I'm smart.

[486] I should have done amazing the first.

[487] first time.

[488] But I didn't.

[489] And I have a strong feeling that resembles that time.

[490] I have a feeling that it might.

[491] And look, I think it's really common to have to do it more than once.

[492] So I am keeping that option on the table.

[493] But it's expensive.

[494] It's so, I can't believe they give you like a refund on a pizza, you know, or like just like things that are way less.

[495] If it doesn't work, they should give it for free.

[496] They should give the second one for free.

[497] It's only.

[498] Family fair.

[499] I mean, that's crazy.

[500] It's so much.

[501] It really is.

[502] One of my other friends, she bought a guaranteed 30, like a pat.

[503] It was like, you can do however many retrievals it takes to get to 30 eggs.

[504] Really?

[505] Yeah.

[506] That's kind of a genius idea.

[507] And is it a billion dollars or is it?

[508] I honestly don't know.

[509] I feel that's the ethical thing to do.

[510] But it's probably the price has to be so much that they're winning.

[511] Well, I don't think people want to do this again always.

[512] And so I do think there probably is like a baked -in amount of people that are like, no, 15's great.

[513] Or four is great.

[514] After I did four, I was done.

[515] I didn't want to do it again.

[516] Oh, you were?

[517] Yeah.

[518] It took, it was like three years until I came back.

[519] Again, just the emotional toll of not just the whole process, but then of it not working.

[520] Yeah.

[521] I feel like that takes a little recovery.

[522] Yeah.

[523] What made you want to do it again?

[524] I was about to turn 35.

[525] Mm -hmm.

[526] Yeah, I did reassess at that point.

[527] I was still at a place that provided that financial support, but I don't blame anyone.

[528] Like, you can go through it and get zero and not want to do it again.

[529] Yeah.

[530] And I think that's totally an option.

[531] And again, like, it's an insurance policy and it's an extremely unnatural process.

[532] So it's not for every human body.

[533] Yes.

[534] And it doesn't mean you're not going to have baby.

[535] I think there's also a really staggering statistic about how many people freeze their eggs and do not use them.

[536] Yeah, I'm curious about that.

[537] It's very, like, very low use.

[538] My friend Chelsea was like, the minute you decide to do it, she has like three friends who like met the person, like three weeks later or something like that.

[539] Is that I haven't with you?

[540] No. No, I hadn't.

[541] Max and I started dating again, my now husband.

[542] We started dating again for the last time.

[543] Right.

[544] When I was freezing my eggs the first time.

[545] Yeah.

[546] Yeah.

[547] Okay, Brad Pitt.

[548] I'm here.

[549] Well, we could ask you questions like all day long.

[550] I know.

[551] Well, do you guys want me to ask you questions?

[552] If you have any, sure.

[553] Okay, so you're freaked out clearly, both of you.

[554] Very.

[555] There's a weird energy.

[556] I'm so sorry.

[557] I'm trying to be so cool.

[558] Is it the pain of the needle?

[559] Is it getting the shot wrong?

[560] All of it.

[561] Like, you've had to get used to needles a little bit in this process, right?

[562] Like, you've had to have.

[563] blood drawn.

[564] But you're not doing it yourself.

[565] Like, I can barely give myself eye drops.

[566] I have told doing uncomfortable things to myself.

[567] Okay.

[568] Okay.

[569] I guess.

[570] What about you, Monica?

[571] I do think a little bit is getting it wrong or like fucking it up or putting the saline in before I'm supposed to.

[572] Like, another thing people don't say is you're doing like legit chemistry.

[573] It's not just like the needles prepped and you put it in and then you're done.

[574] It's, you know, mixing things and tapping things.

[575] And someone told me at a dinner party the other night that their husband became sober.

[576] But it was just at the beginning because he was prepping the needles.

[577] And he was like, I don't even want one drink in me. Like I have to really focus so I don't like screw it up.

[578] And then he just kind of stopped drinking.

[579] He was like, oh, I kind of stopped for this.

[580] And then he's been sober for like a year and a half.

[581] But it started with doing the prep for the syringes.

[582] Because again, it's like, I thought it was like an epipan.

[583] Like it would just be like, oh, I just jab it into my, you know.

[584] But it's not.

[585] And also I'm like, why don't they?

[586] make it better?

[587] Can they make it better?

[588] Can they make it less complicated?

[589] Callie, can they?

[590] I can look into it.

[591] It is wild, though.

[592] How much you sort of feel like is on you.

[593] I'm impressed that people have not fucked this up more.

[594] And like there's been major ramifications.

[595] I agree.

[596] Well, I think the complications are because you're going in every two days, the doctor ideally will see them.

[597] So it's, you're producing too many eggs.

[598] And that's a thing.

[599] Fingers crossed.

[600] Sounds like a great problem.

[601] Isn't there a thing where if you put an air bubble in yourself, then you can die?

[602] That's what someone told me. From the syringe?

[603] This dinner party was really, yeah.

[604] Oh, no, I don't think so.

[605] That if you get a little bit of air, so you got to click it, like a addict, like you're just like clicking that so that you don't get an air bubbles.

[606] I always always told that the air bubble just made it a little more painful.

[607] But it wasn't an actual danger.

[608] It was more of like you don't really want to be injecting yourself with air.

[609] They would have really reiterated that if that were true.

[610] Yes.

[611] Okay, let's not Google that.

[612] I don't want to know.

[613] I also think there's an unknown, like, I don't know what state I'm going to be in.

[614] Right.

[615] This is just my experience, but I was underwhelmed with my side effects.

[616] Okay.

[617] Good to know.

[618] I mean, the most physical is by the end, you feel very bloated because you're full of eggs in a way that you shouldn't be.

[619] Oh, my God.

[620] Is that why you have to weigh yourself every end?

[621] day?

[622] Why do they say that?

[623] Oh, I didn't have to weigh myself.

[624] It says it on the sheet.

[625] Oh.

[626] Also, you have to sign all these documents that are scary.

[627] An anesthesia page about if you die.

[628] Yes.

[629] Like, where do the eggs go?

[630] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[631] Yeah.

[632] And we talked about this.

[633] Mine currently go to donation, but Monica wants them to go to her.

[634] Yeah.

[635] I want to be able to make decisions about them.

[636] She wants a little cow.

[637] Because if she dies and I'd like a piece of her to stay.

[638] It's sweet.

[639] Yeah, I know.

[640] I mean, I sat with that page for a second.

[641] I was like, what do I do?

[642] There is a piece of me that's hopeful because I put give to partner.

[643] And then when it said put the person, I said unknown.

[644] I love that.

[645] Anyway.

[646] Oh, but the other big, like, you're going to have bruises on your stomach.

[647] You're definitely going to have bruises.

[648] I sort of like, I was like, oh, that was Monday.

[649] this was too.

[650] I love your attitude.

[651] I know.

[652] I want it.

[653] I want it by asmosis.

[654] It's not always like this.

[655] That's part of what's fascinating is you really.

[656] No, I'm serious in a good way.

[657] I feel like you're such a realist that you looking at this experience in a positive way was new.

[658] Yeah.

[659] I would say differently, fertility and motherhood has been on my mind since I, I was like three, which is very intense.

[660] So this was like me getting in touch with a side of me that was very exciting to be in touch with.

[661] Okay.

[662] But that's the thing.

[663] It's different for so many people.

[664] Like what brings us all here.

[665] But there's still the bubble syringe problem for all of us.

[666] There are unifying things.

[667] Yeah, I was really underwhelmed with like how I felt I did not feel foggy.

[668] I did not feel out of it.

[669] I felt okay.

[670] Both times.

[671] The second time because I got way more, I was more bloated.

[672] And that made sense.

[673] I'm just going to be like, I'm not bloated.

[674] Or I am to be bloated and then I'm going to get zero eggs and I'll be like, what was that about?

[675] Just regular bloating pizza.

[676] That was just a pizza.

[677] Also, are we allowed to eat pizza?

[678] I thought about this today.

[679] I ordered so much because I thought it was my last dinner of carbs because it says to eat less carbs.

[680] Oh, I didn't, I don't think I restricted my diet too much, just alcohol.

[681] Okay, I was going to ask you about that because I asked them today if I could still have caffeine.

[682] And he was like, yeah, absolutely.

[683] And I was like, but not alcohol.

[684] And he was like, no, you can.

[685] Really?

[686] Yeah.

[687] Okay, by the way, also just BTS.

[688] I'm at your doctor.

[689] He was like, no, it's totally fine.

[690] He was like, actually, it's a good release or something.

[691] He was like, if you're stressed out.

[692] He was like, just remember, it's not pregnancy.

[693] Right.

[694] He was like, there's a lot of things, obviously, you can't do in pregnancy, but you can do here.

[695] It's not the same thing.

[696] I guess I would say, though, the thing with alcohol, since we're going to be so hormoned up, it's maybe not a good idea, depressant -wise.

[697] That's a good point.

[698] Yeah.

[699] Right.

[700] Yeah.

[701] I also think, and I don't know, again, the number here, but this is a really new procedure.

[702] Exactly.

[703] So the Bible on this is very fresh.

[704] I know.

[705] Well, that's what Liz and I keep.

[706] We keep chatting and then it's like mixed information.

[707] Conflicting information even.

[708] We're at different doctors.

[709] And it's kind of fascinating that one's saying one thing and the other saying another.

[710] Yeah.

[711] And ultimately, like the stamp of success for egg freezing is just a large number of eggs.

[712] Right.

[713] Versus IVF is a pregnancy.

[714] And like there's other like signs of, oh, this was successful.

[715] And this is just a. number.

[716] And for really high achieving type A people who are career focus and having a number be this like thing is really daunting.

[717] I think that's the SAT thing.

[718] Ultimately, you have a score.

[719] Yes.

[720] And that score is indicative of how smart you are, how good you are now, your future.

[721] Yes.

[722] And it's like you're doing the SATs in front of like thousands and thousands.

[723] Well, that's my fault.

[724] I decided to do that.

[725] But that's like uping the end.

[726] And I think it's a great thing.

[727] It's like really brave and, you know, being super vulnerable with that, I think will help women.

[728] And one of the nurses was like, I know you're doing this with your friend.

[729] Don't compare follicles.

[730] There's just so many factors.

[731] There are.

[732] There's so many ways to rank uteruses and their content.

[733] Uterize.

[734] Yeah.

[735] Yeah, I'm a feminist.

[736] I have a master's in.

[737] Yeah, you sure do.

[738] But yeah.

[739] So let's not compare numbers.

[740] No. Last week, I checked in with Monica and I was like, are you sure you want to do this very vulnerable?

[741] vulnerable thing so publicly.

[742] Because as much as I was like, I did really embrace the process, I did it very privately.

[743] And there was secrecy to that number at the end that I got to hold on to.

[744] And so I feel very protective of Monica.

[745] But she was very, very confident, no hesitation, being vulnerable here.

[746] That's what's exciting about this.

[747] And so I think that that's really, really brave.

[748] And for the benefit of the conversation that you're going to have with all these different people, it's like, that was the other thing I really wanted the first time was I found like two YouTubers doing it.

[749] And I just watched all their stuff.

[750] Otherwise, it was like nothing was out there.

[751] Yeah.

[752] I mean, the goal of the podcast is real stories, real people.

[753] Some experts and stuff too, but we're real people.

[754] So we're going to be asking from that perspective and cover a lot of different ground.

[755] and I think it'll be fun.

[756] Okay, I feel like it's almost tight.

[757] How about we just keep talking?

[758] And not do it and not do the needles.

[759] Oh, my God.

[760] Are you recording the needle?

[761] Yeah.

[762] Oh, my gosh.

[763] Yeah, we're going to do it.

[764] I just feel like I need to drink water.

[765] Yeah.

[766] Liz, where's your sharps container?

[767] Do you even have it?

[768] What?

[769] Where's your sharps container?

[770] I think it's over in the house.

[771] We're doing it.

[772] I think you're in a tray.

[773] Okay, so there are two shots you do per night.

[774] That's the other thing.

[775] I thought it was just one shot, and then today, then they're like, oh, it depends on what you need.

[776] Oh, it always differs.

[777] For the first one, I had a different regimen, and then the second one I had a different, I think at first I was one shot, and then I was two.

[778] Oh, I'm two.

[779] Or maybe I was always two.

[780] Wait, am I?

[781] It feels like everyone's two.

[782] Is everyone too?

[783] Yeah, I think so.

[784] Okay, cut that.

[785] I'm leaving it in.

[786] Okay, so I want to do the one that doesn't have as much chemistry first.

[787] The second one has, like, chemistry and they said it stings a little.

[788] Does it sting you?

[789] Yeah.

[790] A little, just a little.

[791] Well, we'll find out.

[792] Just a little.

[793] I also think this is like...

[794] It's such a funny deja vu.

[795] Oh, I bet.

[796] Okay, I don't know I do what I'm doing it.

[797] I'm going to do mine here.

[798] Okay, so do I start, what do I start with?

[799] I would also just wash your hands.

[800] Yeah, yes.

[801] Absolutely.

[802] And that little case you have?

[803] This is for the pen, the pen shot.

[804] This, you have it.

[805] It's in there.

[806] Okay, it's this.

[807] Got it.

[808] And then make sure you get your alcohol swabs out.

[809] Yeah.

[810] You're probably going to need, like, four and eight.

[811] They give you a bunch.

[812] Okay.

[813] Okay.

[814] Don't look at this needle.

[815] Oh, my God.

[816] It's huge.

[817] I know.

[818] That's what I'm saying.

[819] I don't know.

[820] You throw it out.

[821] You don't even use that.

[822] What do you mean?

[823] They put it in and you don't need it?

[824] For that one, that's weird.

[825] I don't get it, but yeah.

[826] Where's my...

[827] Oh my God, I lost some of that.

[828] That's the first shot and that's the second shot.

[829] Yes.

[830] And this is with the medicine in the fridge.

[831] Oh, yeah.

[832] I was like, where's the medicine?

[833] Oh, my God.

[834] See, look, Liz only has one box of this.

[835] You have a different amount, like I think, right?

[836] Oh.

[837] You have different amounts of medicine.

[838] Okay.

[839] Which is totally fine.

[840] They might have you on a higher dose to try and preserve more of your...

[841] It's okay.

[842] No, it's going to sting.

[843] It's going to be great.

[844] Every night you're going to want like this.

[845] Callie is setting this up right now and it's really...

[846] Can I pay you to do this tonight?

[847] Okay.

[848] Okay, so that's your setup for the night.

[849] Okay, I'm going to take a photo because that'll be...

[850] This is so cute.

[851] I like the aesthetic.

[852] Can you just imagine it on a tray?

[853] So should we get trays?

[854] Just imagine it on a tray.

[855] You did make it really pretty for her.

[856] Do you want me to yours?

[857] Yeah.

[858] Yeah, make me a tray.

[859] Do we want to do it here?

[860] Oh, sure.

[861] We can move all this crap.

[862] All these nicotine.

[863] Can you smoke weed?

[864] I'm sure you can.

[865] You probably can.

[866] See, there's also one thing is that they give you a ton of extra stuff.

[867] Okay.

[868] Mostly like needles.

[869] And I always felt like my count was off.

[870] Yeah, there are so many.

[871] Okay, so over here is this whole thing.

[872] Is one.

[873] Steele.

[874] Trey doesn't have sand on it.

[875] Why is there sand in my needles?

[876] Oh, wait.

[877] No, I'm not saying it's like cookie crumbs.

[878] Yeah, that makes sense.

[879] That adds up.

[880] Okay.

[881] Air bubble.

[882] Okay.

[883] Yeah, yeah.

[884] I don't think you should inject a cookie crumb.

[885] Should Google it.

[921] What do you want?

[922] I think you should decide.

[923] I don't know.

[924] Should we flip a call?

[925] Oh, my God.

[926] We should go first.

[927] Monica.

[928] Okay, I'm going to go first.

[929] She told me she recommended me sit, actually, instead of sand.

[930] You still have some prepping.

[931] you need to do.

[932] Okay.

[933] Okay, hold on.

[934] So I remember, I have a video.

[935] Should I pull it out?

[936] Does this go in?

[937] Yeah, it does.

[938] It's not already loaded.

[939] Mm -mm.

[940] Okay, so you'll load that and then this pen is going to go in the fridge for the rest of, because this is fridge medicine.

[941] Okay, this is where I do the swab, right?

[942] Yes.

[943] Anytime you're like piercing out.

[944] I don't know what I'm doing.

[945] Here, I can, this was the second time, Max's job was to always open up the swabs and have the swabs ready.

[946] Oh, that's nice.

[947] Okay, so I swabbed this.

[948] Yeah.

[949] Swathing the top.

[950] You can just put it in your sharps.

[951] Am I supposed to take it off?

[952] No. Okay.

[953] Okay.

[954] And then, oh my God.

[955] This is so scary.

[956] I go in this way.

[957] Oh.

[958] And then.

[959] I put this in.

[960] You're so good at that.

[961] Oh, yeah.

[962] Okay.

[963] To put it as our number.

[964] Yep.

[965] And it goes in like that.

[966] Fuck.

[967] Oh, my God.

[968] Oh, I have to click it.

[969] Okay.

[970] Oh, my God.

[971] We already had a mishap.

[972] Shit.

[973] A needle mishap of all things.

[974] The needle is visible.

[975] I don't know how I'm going to.

[976] I don't think I'm going to want to do this.

[977] You can do it.

[978] Okay.

[979] Now, I go up to.

[980] What?

[981] Does they don't have the same number?

[982] Yeah, I'm 225.

[983] I think you are too.

[984] Okay.

[985] Okay.

[986] What if I love it so much and I become a heroin addict?

[987] Oops.

[988] Okay.

[989] Okay, I'm going to sit.

[990] Oh my God.

[991] I'm so scared.

[992] I know, I know.

[993] I'm not doing it yet.

[994] Okay, I'm going to pinch my inch.

[995] I hate when she says, pinch your inch.

[996] All right.

[997] Oh, boy.

[998] I can't.

[999] I don't.

[1000] You can do it.

[1001] Yeah.

[1002] You can do it.

[1003] Uh -huh.

[1004] Oh my gosh, Liz.

[1005] It doesn't hurt at all.

[1006] Are you serious?

[1007] I'm serious.

[1008] You didn't look like you were in pain.

[1009] So then untwist that and put it in the sharps.

[1010] Oh, my God.

[1011] Oh, my gosh, I feel happy.

[1012] Yeah, I do.

[1013] I do.

[1014] Yeah.

[1015] That makes me so happy.

[1016] Okay.

[1017] Oh, I'm excited for you now.

[1018] Okay.

[1019] She's on the other.

[1020] side.

[1021] Okay.

[1022] Okay.

[1023] Okay.

[1024] Hi.

[1025] Now.

[1026] I am dissociating.

[1027] Okay.

[1028] Now I love it.

[1029] Oh my gosh.

[1030] You do?

[1031] You do?

[1032] Well, I'm nervous about the other one, but yeah.

[1033] Because now you know how strong you are.

[1034] Honestly, the other one's more fun.

[1035] It is.

[1036] Oh, because the chemistry.

[1037] Yeah.

[1038] It gets like exciting.

[1039] Okay.

[1040] I like, I like this.

[1041] I like this aspiration for my mental state.

[1042] Okay.

[1043] So.

[1044] Okay.

[1045] Okay.

[1046] No. Yeah.

[1047] Oh, but I already have one.

[1048] No, no, no, that's a different one.

[1049] Oh, you need this middle thing.

[1050] Oh, okay.

[1051] Okay, and then the top.

[1052] Okay.

[1053] Take its top off.

[1054] I take it off.

[1055] No, no, no, no. Sorry, I was just joking.

[1056] Oh, my God.

[1057] I can't joke.

[1058] Oh, God.

[1059] Here's the sharps.

[1060] Okay, I thought I unsealed it.

[1061] Okay.

[1062] Oh, my God.

[1063] Okay.

[1064] Okay.

[1065] Okay.

[1066] I think you should sit.

[1067] Okay.

[1068] Such a baby.

[1069] I promise.

[1070] You don't even feel it.

[1071] This one I didn't.

[1072] You really did not feel it.

[1073] But I feel like you have a higher threshold for pain.

[1074] Like you're like, I'm a big baby.

[1075] A lot of people have done it.

[1076] Yes.

[1077] It's true.

[1078] It's true.

[1079] Okay.

[1080] So do you have to pinch your inch?

[1081] It's so fun.

[1082] We're having so much fun.

[1083] This is like we're playing house.

[1084] Do it two inches away.

[1085] I'm not too anxious.

[1086] Yeah, that's good.

[1087] There, but, oh, wait.

[1088] Okay.

[1089] Okay, and then I put it in, and then I turn, I push it.

[1090] Once it's in, you'll push.

[1091] Okay.

[1092] It's going to be so fast.

[1093] Okay.

[1094] I can't believe people do this.

[1095] I can't believe people do this.

[1096] Once you do it once.

[1097] Can you get, okay, I don't want you to look away, but I want you to look away.

[1098] Like, I want you here.

[1099] No, no, no, okay, no, I want you to look.

[1100] No, no, okay.

[1101] Okay.

[1102] Okay.

[1103] Okay.

[1104] Okay.

[1105] Okay.

[1106] One, two, they go.

[1107] One, two, they go.

[1108] You have to look.

[1109] I don't want to look, but if you don't look, you're going to do, you're right.

[1110] You're right.

[1111] Absolutely the hardest one you're going to do.

[1112] Okay, so it's like right there.

[1113] Okay.

[1114] And then I go like that.

[1115] Okay.

[1116] Oh, my God.

[1117] Okay.

[1118] Oh, my God.

[1119] I can't.

[1120] I can't.

[1121] Do you want the best to do it?

[1122] Can you do it?

[1123] Does that bother you?

[1124] No. But do you want to get.

[1125] No, because I feel like if the thing that's hard is I have no idea what it's going to feel like.

[1126] And I feel like if you do the first one, then I can like, then I won't have the unknown and that I have to do it.

[1127] Do you mind?

[1128] No, I'll do it.

[1129] Is that good if I do it?

[1130] Yeah, this is the one that you did for me. Okay.

[1131] So pinch that.

[1132] Pinch it.

[1133] Okay.

[1134] That's okay.

[1135] Yeah.

[1136] It's it.

[1137] Okay.

[1138] You did it.

[1139] Oh my gosh.

[1140] How do you feel?

[1141] I mean, I feel so good.

[1142] But also, I didn't do anything.

[1143] I don't deserve to feel good.

[1144] No, but did it hurt?

[1145] I mean, it hurts a little bit.

[1146] It's not, I think I'm more sensi than you, but I'm a senseo.

[1147] I feel like once I'm used to it, it'll be fine.

[1148] Thank you for doing it to me. Of course, that's what I'm here for.

[1149] Wow.

[1150] Okay, now it's time for the next one.

[1151] And yet we survived the first shot.

[1152] That's exciting.

[1153] One down, one down.

[1154] One down.

[1155] Okay, and the next one is chemistry.

[1156] Chemistry class.

[1157] Okay, the video.

[1158] Maybe we watch the video for this.

[1159] Watch the video on this one.

[1160] Your videos are great.

[1161] That was helpful.

[1162] She's kind of like an influencer.

[1163] Like, she does it with her.

[1164] And she's like really nice nails.

[1165] I know.

[1166] Okay.

[1167] You'll see here, you have your written instructions as well.

[1168] Okay.

[1169] Your dosing is just one vial of MetaPure.

[1170] So you'll have a box.

[1171] You have a couple boxes like this.

[1172] It comes with five.

[1173] Okay.

[1174] You're going to have all these little goodies that you're going to need to mix and it comes like this so it will come with five vials of the saline water and then five vials of the actual medication menipure okay your medications menopur's are going to have little white powder in it that's the medication got it so what you're going to do is you're going to get out one vial of menopure and one mile of water because all you're doing is one vial of menopure perfect just like that Okay.

[1175] Put these back because you won't leave them.

[1176] So you see how there's a little cap on this one.

[1177] You'll see a cap on your Mipure as well.

[1178] So you just take that off, take this one off.

[1179] You'll clean them with alcohol wipes, okay?

[1180] You're going to get what we call a cue cap.

[1181] Okay.

[1182] This will be covered, obviously.

[1183] You'll take off the cover.

[1184] You're going to get your sailing water first.

[1185] Okay.

[1186] You're going to put this cue cap.

[1187] It has a needle in the middle.

[1188] Uh -huh.

[1189] So once you take off the paper, just set.

[1190] it on top there's a rubber stopper in the middle okay so we're gonna pierce the needle into the rubber stopper like that great so you're gonna hold it take this off and you'll see the little like a little hat oh there okay so then you're going to get this surrender it's been part is really important too close with it okay we're moving we love them moving okay okay so please just throw it right away because I want you to get confused and put it back on and enjoy yourself.

[1191] Okay.

[1192] Okay.

[1193] So then you will, you're going to put this, screw this on top of the cue cap, like that.

[1194] Okay.

[1195] Okay.

[1196] And you're going to see down here, it's going to say on step four, you're going to draw out between 1 .1 to 1 .2 mls of the sterile water.

[1197] Okay.

[1198] So you're going to put this upside down.

[1199] You see how there's a 1 right here.

[1200] Uh -huh.

[1201] So 1 .1 is either there and 1 .2 is either there.

[1202] Okay.

[1203] And the way you're measuring it, is going to be at the top of that black line.

[1204] You see, I'm at 1 .1.

[1205] See the top of the black line?

[1206] Yeah.

[1207] And then if you go down, it's 1 .2.

[1208] Uh -huh.

[1209] Okay.

[1210] So you just hold it, because you'll see there's pressure, so it will go up, so you're going to have to hold onto it.

[1211] Okay.

[1212] Okay, so I'll give myself 1 .2.

[1213] Just give myself a little wig room if it goes up by accident.

[1214] Okay.

[1215] So 1 .2 right there.

[1216] And then you're going to put this off to the side and take it off.

[1217] Once you take it off, there's no more pressure.

[1218] Got it.

[1219] So now that you have your 1 .2, you're going to put the cue cap and put it into this rubber stopper of the actual medication.

[1220] Okay.

[1221] You're going to inject the water and then you're going to just kind of give it a twirl until it dissolves.

[1222] Usually within like 30 seconds to a minute, the white powder should dissolve and it'll be all clear.

[1223] Okay.

[1224] Then what you're going to do is upside down and you're going to take everything out.

[1225] Okay.

[1226] Sometimes you see like a little bubble or two in here and it's fine.

[1227] Very different from your time.

[1228] It may cause death.

[1229] These measurements might not be exactly what you have because these are just yellows so we might have a little more or a little less.

[1230] Once you have that so I kind of just give myself an air gap a little bit so nothing spills out and put this off to the side.

[1231] Okay.

[1232] Just like that.

[1233] So now I will take this off.

[1234] You just unscrew it.

[1235] Take off the cue cap.

[1236] And get your injection needle.

[1237] This is so many steps.

[1238] You'll get better at it.

[1239] You'll get better at it.

[1240] This is literally the worst night when you're like line on the back.

[1241] And then by the ninth, you'll be like...

[1242] Very, very, very, very, very, very.

[1243] Okay.

[1244] So you're injecting this the same exact way as the follow stem in the tummy area, two fingers away from the belly button.

[1245] You pinch your end and you inject.

[1246] Okay.

[1247] eye, but like a slight air gap.

[1248] It's just for a breeze.

[1249] Oh, wait.

[1250] So it says something about the air gap.

[1251] Just make sure to get rid of this air gap before injecting your gut.

[1252] So get rid of that.

[1253] When you're injecting this one, I ask that you hold from the barrel, pinch, inject, and jacked.

[1254] And then once it's already in your belly, then push this all the way in.

[1255] And do you release the pinch also?

[1256] Yeah, you release the pinch also.

[1257] The reason I say hold from barrel is because some patients, like to just hold from here and inject, but sometimes some medication will come out and shake it in because they're pushing my ass on it.

[1258] So hold from here, pinch your inch.

[1259] Like don't hold it from its end, hold it by the barrel.

[1260] Oh, and then, oh, got it.

[1261] Okay.

[1262] Okay, we're going for shot number two.

[1263] You're so, you're crushing it.

[1264] How did she do it with those nails?

[1265] Yeah.

[1266] It's good confidence.

[1267] So what's this one called?

[1268] Metaphor.

[1269] I could just try now.

[1270] It's this thing.

[1271] Yeah, you're mixing.

[1272] cap.

[1273] Okay.

[1274] My mixing cap goes in the saline.

[1275] Menopur.

[1276] And I screw it on here.

[1277] Oh, should I?

[1278] That's just sterile water.

[1279] So these are, this one's not like scary.

[1280] At this point, it's not like scary in my mind.

[1281] Yeah.

[1282] No, it is.

[1283] The medicine is this little chunk.

[1284] Right.

[1285] Exactly.

[1286] Okay.

[1287] Now, this is where I do the 1 .1 to 1 point.

[1288] Is it right?

[1289] Yeah.

[1290] You're at 1 .2.

[1291] You see that line?

[1292] Yeah.

[1293] Now I add this whole thing in.

[1294] Yep.

[1295] And it's going to dissolve it.

[1296] So you need to squeeze it in.

[1297] Oh, right.

[1298] Yeah.

[1299] Now twirl.

[1300] Did you do a twirl?

[1301] I'm twirling.

[1302] It looks dissolved.

[1303] Yeah.

[1304] Okay, so that's dissolved.

[1305] So then now I flip.

[1306] Mm -hmm.

[1307] I take it all.

[1308] Yep.

[1309] Yeah, we did.

[1310] And now I...

[1311] You take off the cue cap now.

[1312] Okay.

[1313] Right.

[1314] Uh -huh.

[1315] And then I put this guy on.

[1316] God, it's hard to hold all this stuff at once.

[1317] Sometimes I would unwrap everything.

[1318] Yeah.

[1319] Oh, yeah.

[1320] That's fine.

[1321] That's fine.

[1322] Okay.

[1323] Now you're ready.

[1324] Now it's got to pinch my inch.

[1325] Oh, wait.

[1326] But you got to...

[1327] Yeah, I got to sterilize.

[1328] I'm going to do the other.

[1329] side or should I do the same side?

[1330] Same side, other side tomorrow night.

[1331] Okay, I'll put my cookie crumbs in.

[1332] Okay, so my grandpa because he would do insulin.

[1333] Oh, yeah.

[1334] Hi.

[1335] Hold it from the barrel.

[1336] Okay, did it?

[1337] Oh my God.

[1338] Did it hurt?

[1339] A little more uncomfortable.

[1340] A little bit, not, not crazy.

[1341] Wow.

[1342] Cal, I'm so happy you were here.

[1343] here for this.

[1344] I really am.

[1345] Like, I think if anyone does this in the future, I'm available.

[1346] Have Callie.

[1347] No, have someone who you really trust nearby because it is scary.

[1348] Okay, Liz.

[1349] Okay.

[1350] I don't remember anything.

[1351] I don't, like, my, it's like, it already happens when someone explains to me any things, any rules of a board game, but this is like, the board game is my body.

[1352] Wait, so the cap goes on the saline.

[1353] Yeah, I think that's right.

[1354] So which one's saline?

[1355] What's the one that doesn't...

[1356] No, no, no. Salt is medicine.

[1357] Saline is okay.

[1358] This reminds me of your cooking show.

[1359] It's like a tiny little.

[1360] It is.

[1361] I know.

[1362] Oh, my God, you're so right.

[1363] Wow, okay.

[1364] Cool.

[1365] You're so good at stuff.

[1366] Yeah, then this.

[1367] And this little bubble we don't care about.

[1368] That's not the bubble that kills you.

[1369] No. This goes in.

[1370] here in the salt yeah medicine twirl it twirlet twirl it okay it's dissolved I like that this part is it's complicated so it keeps you distracted if I think you're about to poke yourself in you add the needle yeah yeah here it is I mean I got out rid of the bubble okay so we did our chemistry and now we're going to do Liz's second.

[1371] Okay.

[1372] And then we'll be done.

[1373] Oh my gosh.

[1374] Yeah.

[1375] And just like that.

[1376] Okay.

[1377] Let's do it here.

[1378] Okay.

[1379] Hinch it.

[1380] Oh, gosh.

[1381] Am I doing it again?

[1382] Yeah, I think so.

[1383] Sorry.

[1384] I'm sorry.

[1385] I don't want to laugh.

[1386] I don't know why I left.

[1387] I left when I did it to you, too.

[1388] I like to laugh.

[1389] It's like awkwardly, yeah.

[1390] It's weird.

[1391] It's like an uncomfortable.

[1392] Okay, let go.

[1393] Let go.

[1394] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

[1395] Ow, that feels like it's like stinging, right, a little bit.

[1396] Oh, it's like a worm inside of me. Oh, it's so long.

[1397] It's done.

[1398] That felt like a now.

[1399] Oh, no. Okay, so you don't love that.

[1400] No, I know.

[1401] Oh, I keep on it.

[1402] Like that.

[1403] Okay, so tell the world.

[1404] It's like it's alive inside of you.

[1405] It's like move.

[1406] Like, I guess it is a sting, but it just feels like it's like a little worm going in there.

[1407] I bet when you do it to yourself don't feel as much.

[1408] You didn't feel like that?

[1409] I didn't feel wormy at stun a little.

[1410] It's longer than the first one.

[1411] Okay, well, we're going to cut a lot of this out, but we have completed day one of shots.

[1412] We've survived.

[1413] Monica looks so happy.

[1414] I am.

[1415] Oh my God, you are.

[1416] You did both.

[1417] You did everything.

[1418] You did everything.

[1419] You did by the way.

[1420] Four shots.

[1421] Yeah, you did four shots.

[1422] I am leaving a lot happier than I came in.

[1423] There's something about it.

[1424] There is.

[1425] Now I really get the empowerment.

[1426] It is a teeny bit painful and it's a little chemistry.

[1427] It's a little hard and scientific.

[1428] And it feels like I did something.

[1429] You did.

[1430] I do think I'll be depressed when I get zero eggs from this.

[1431] but is fine.

[1432] No, I'm not saying it.

[1433] I'm cutting that.

[1434] Don't say that.

[1435] You're going to get the exact amount of eggs you're supposed to get.

[1436] Yeah.

[1437] There's a plan and it's going to happen according to plan.

[1438] Either way, I will have done something for myself.

[1439] That's right.

[1440] Callie, thank you for being here.

[1441] Thank you.
