The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz XX
[0] You're listening to Draft King's Network.
[1] All right, so I'm going to take you guys through the lifespan here of me becoming a father.
[2] And we had a milestone yesterday.
[3] I was at the doctor with my wife.
[4] And we did the anatomy scan for our baby.
[5] And it's crazy that you can see at this age, like the, you know, whatever it is.
[6] I don't know how you do it in weeks or whatever.
[7] But like when they do the sonogram, like you can see everything, the little spinal cord.
[8] you can see like the little legs and the little arms the dad's in the room like when you guys first saw the baby in the womb with the sonogram stuff and you saw like all the little fingers and little toes and little face and all that like how was it because it was crazy for me i started crying but i saw two yeah yeah is that why you started crying because you saw two yeah there was two in there yeah but you did it such a different time stew like i feel like medicine is so much more advanced now Billy, I feel like you, Roy, I feel like you guys have more of, like, the modern medicine view of the sonogram and stuff.
[9] Like, how do you guys feel when you saw that little, like, thing that actually is a human now?
[10] Saw the heartbeat and everything.
[11] Yeah.
[12] It was tremendous.
[13] It really was tremendous.
[14] Seeing Claire in the womb there.
[15] Princess Claire.
[16] They're like, oh, this is her little leg and this is like her little femur bone and like this is this.
[17] And like, it looks like an actual human, but it's like so tiny.
[18] She's like, yeah, she's 11 ounces.
[19] And I'm like, oh, damn, okay, it's a less than a pound.
[20] I had it weird because, like, my wife got pregnant.
[21] Oh, in COVID.
[22] Yeah, so, like, she was born in 2021, but, like, the months leading up to it, like, I couldn't even go into the appointment.
[23] So, like, I had to do it on FaceTime, like, sitting in the parking lot, which is, like, really weird.
[24] But it was strange.
[25] Like, we just did, like, the regular ones.
[26] I don't know if you guys got, like, the, or you're doing, like, the 3D ones and all of that stuff yet.
[27] Because, like, even from when we had our first daughter, things have changed.
[28] To the second one?
[29] Yeah, yeah.
[30] What did you see the most?
[31] If I'm going to be honest, you, second one, I didn't get enough sonogram pictures.
[32] They used to do, like, the printout, you get it.
[33] The second one always gets robbed, yeah.
[34] I don't know what was going on there.
[35] I wasn't getting as many sonograms.
[36] I wasn't getting as much, I mean, I wasn't getting any at all.
[37] What's going on there has been there done that?
[38] Like, the first one is excitement?
[39] Yeah, but like, you think the doctors knew, like, oh, this is number two.
[40] We don't need to bother with this.
[41] The doctor knows.
[42] Because this is a different, this is like, I think there was like a change in insurance or something.
[43] So it was like an insurance, like it was a different practice, I believe.
[44] Right?
[45] Is that right?
[46] I don't remember.
[47] But I think it was a different office.
[48] It was a different practice.
[49] So, like, do they just see, like, sometimes we went with my daughter?
[50] Oh, this is number two.
[51] We don't have to try that hard.
[52] Either that or a bad doctor.
[53] I mean, she went back to the first doctor who cared a little bit more, you know?
[54] They gave me CDs, like of the sonogram and stuff.
[55] Yeah, listen to it in your fucking 98 Honda Civic.
[56] Exactly right, with the muffler.
[57] With the muffler kit.
[58] So they gave me a CD or a DVD or whatever.
[59] They're like, hey, just put this into, like, whatever.
[60] And I'm like, dude, I don't have a DVD player.
[61] Like, what do you want me to do with this?
[62] put it in my computer like okay 2001 of my Neo in the Matrix Did anything like Jess I have a question For you because I feel like you know the answer to this and I don't know why Did anything have like a less Less of a shelf life than Then Blu -rays?
[63] So like DVDs had like a moment right And then there was like They had a right yes But Blu -rays was like never mind streaming So like Blue Rays had like four years And then it was like never mind If that We could just do this on streaming Yeah I feel like we got rid of the CD player Before anyone was ready for that Yeah Yeah.
[64] Do you think that CDs are going to have a comeback, like the record player?
[65] I don't know, because I don't think things sound, like the thing with the vinyl record players is that people say that it sounds different and it sounds better.
[66] And I have a vinyl record player.
[67] And I would agree with that.
[68] Like, you get a fuller sound from it.
[69] I don't know if that's the case with CDs versus streaming.
[70] So there's like a difference between where you're playing, like streaming from, too.
[71] Like I've heard that Apple Music has a more like fuller sound than like Spotify does, for example.
[72] Love iTunes.
[73] I don't know.
[74] This is all more technical than I really understand.
[75] But my favorite part of the segment so far was Tony telling Stu he's like his kids were born before modern medicine.
[76] Yeah, I didn't understand that you've been around for like 60, 70 years.
[77] Yes, but to Pilly's point, like even from his first kid to a second, which are what two years apart?
[78] I was trying to save you because Stu guys is not that old.
[79] His kids are not that old.
[80] Not that he's that old, but guys, his kids are old.
[81] How old are Rachel Emma?
[82] How old are Rachel and Emma?
[83] They're 20.
[84] They were born in two.
[85] 2004, right?
[86] Yes.
[87] Okay, so 2004 to 2024, we have massive leaps in sonogram and all of those baby -eat things.
[88] We were talking about ultrasomes, though.
[89] Been around forever.
[90] Yeah.
[91] No, no, definitely not have been around forever.
[92] I'll take not that old.
[93] I will take that at this stage of my life.
[94] It's not that old.
[95] But in modern medicine, it's very old.
[96] 20 years of modern medicine might as well be 200.
[97] Yeah.
[98] I don't know about that.
[99] Yeah.
[100] Same with gymnastics, I feel like.
[101] Exactly.
[102] Wait, what?
[103] If you're 20, you're old.
[104] Did you see they ban a moving gymnastics where, like, it was on the parallel bars where, like, the gymnast would stand on the taller bar and then just do a backflip, like jump off the bar, do a backflip, and then grab onto it and then keep going?
[105] They banned it?
[106] They banned it.
[107] Like in, like, the 80s, I guess, yeah, it was too dangerous.
[108] You got to find it.
[109] There's banned moves.
[110] God, I love the Olympics.
[111] I love learning about all these different sports.
[112] I'm locked into indoor volleyball right now, and Danny Benitez is teaching me about volleyball shoes.
[113] Matt Anderson, the break.
[114] Exactly.
[115] Exactly.
[116] The problem is you won't care about these sports for another four years.
[117] And it doesn't matter.
[118] And it doesn't matter.
[119] But for two weeks, I'm locked in.
[120] Stu, Matt Anderson, 610.
[121] Go down and grab a board, buddy.
[122] What are we doing?
[123] Gold medalist, I think.
[124] Grab a board.
